"The best seat in the house at Colonia Verde in Fort Greene is all the way in the back, in the spacious garden decked out in string lights. It’s a great setting for a boozy brunch or a long dinner complete with shrimp tacos and excellent margaritas. They also do Sunday Asado here almost every month—essentially, a barbecue party for the neighborhood with guest chefs." - bryan kim, molly fitzpatrick, will hartman, willa moore, sonal shah
"Colonia Verde has a lot going for it: it’s the most fun restaurant in Fort Greene, it serves tequila cocktails and shrimp tacos with the softest tortilla swaddling, and the tables are large enough to fit everything you’ve ordered, which we hope includes the salted peewee potatoes with spicy mayo. The restaurant is like a well-decorated cave that sprawls through a couple of rooms and a greenhouse, finally opening onto a spacious garden decked out in string lights. They throw Sunday Asado here almost every month—essentially, a barbecue party for the neighborhood with guest chefs." - willa moore, bryan kim, molly fitzpatrick
"If you’re not really a brunch person, the shrimp tacos at Colonia Verde in Fort Greene might change that. Shrimp, avocado, and refried beans are folded into tortillas so soft that they could double as a pillow for your post-brunch nap. Sip a mezcal cocktail, and spend a few hours lounging in the greenhouse-like dining room or plant-filled backyard." - bryan kim, willa moore, molly fitzpatrick, will hartman, sonal shah
"This isn’t the best Latin American restaurant in Brooklyn, but it’s easily the best in this part of Brooklyn. Husband and wife team Felipe Donnelly and Tamy Rofe, duck confit tacos, pão de queijo burgers, clams al pastor, and lots of wine. The restaurant is especially reliable for brunch, serving options beyond the run-of-the-mill eggs and pancakes. The spot has lots of seating in its backyard-covered patio, warm enough no matter the season." - Emma Orlow

"As a New Yorker, the garden patio at Colonia Verde might be the closest you’ll get to feeling like you’re dining at the villa in Call Me Be Your Name. The spacious outdoor seating area behind this upscale Latin restaurant is shaded by two big trees, and covered in huge ceramic planters that seem like they haven’t been touched in decades. So if you’re looking for a date night spot in the area, book a table online for duck confit tacos and poblano pepper pasta." - nikko duren
