"Open for: Dinner, Sunday brunchPrice range: $$$$Previously with Cunningham Restaurant Group’s Union 50, executive chef Adan Sandoval now directs the kitchen at Commission Row, where he continues the restaurant’s sublime, carefully orchestrated dining experience. In a contemporary setting, beneath modern chandeliers, a meal includes a curated caviar service featuring roe from Thomas Keller’s Regiis Ova, a seafood raw bar, and an array of beautiful steaks. Overlooking the new Bicentennial Unity Plaza, diners can begin with a cocktail, including several martini options, or choose from the thoughtfully selected wine list. Know before you go: After eating, twirl down to the adjoining speakeasy, Mel’s, named after the late local mall owner, producer, and Pacers owner Melvin Simon." - Brian Garrido

A small group of us had dinner at Commission Row and had a great time. Our food came out hot and fresh from the kitchen and the team of servers were amazing. Our server was friendly and personable and was able to answer questions and make recommendations. The atmosphere of the restaurant is very classy, dark, and shiny. There are large windows to watch the action outside. It was a great experience and we will definitely have to visit again for the speakeasy or rooftop experience.

Commission Row truly lives up to its reputation as the city’s top restaurant. From the moment we arrived, the service was impeccable, and the staff went above and beyond to ensure our evening was nothing short of extraordinary. I want to give special thanks to Executive General Manager Ian Saroyan for his incredible assistance in orchestrating one of the most important moments of my life—a proposal to my beloved girlfriend. Ian and his team worked tirelessly to make everything perfect, and their attention to detail made the evening feel magical. The breathtaking city view on Christmas Eve, combined with the festive ambiance, created an unforgettable backdrop. The staff ensured every detail was flawlessly executed, leaving us with a memory we’ll cherish forever. If you’re looking for top-tier cuisine, outstanding service, and a venue capable of delivering once-in-a-lifetime experiences, look no further than Commission Row. It’s a place where dreams come true.

Google
CR food is decent. I enjoyed the scallops, wedge salad, and scalloped potatoes(under seasoned). My husband said he enjoyed the shrimp cocktail, sautéed mushrooms, but he did not like the lamp pooling in sauce. He asked for a plate and plated the lambs out of the sauce, but the decor is definitely the star of the show. CR is aesthetically alluring, dark but charming at the same time. There’s a lively speak ease downstairs that bustles with people clinking glasses and soaking up the vibe.

REAL REVIEW AND PICTURES!!!! 5⭐️ from valet to end of dining. Prime Rib, Salmon, Mac & Cheese, Mushrooms, Gratin, Waygu Meatballs, Expresso Martinis, Happy Anniversary platter with Raspberry Kicker. Black Couple that avoided places like this but it was nothing but love and top notch service from everyone. The manager speaking and acknowledging us topped off our evening. Paid $230 and still tipped very nice to Isaac and will be requesting him upon return. It was an experience with VERY flavorful and delicious food. Took more than half home so clearly we ordered too much but it was worth every dime. Thank You for the phenomenal experience.

We happened to come during Devour. They had a prix fixe menu for $65/person. Six of the eight people in our group ate off the Devour menu. Everyone seemed happy with their selections. I had the Caesar salad, 8oz fillet and crème brûlée. The food tasted great. I was surprised at how much I liked the salad. I wish the salad was bigger. No complaints on the food at all. I think that it’s important to understand that this is a dining experience. You aren’t here to just eat. Nothing is rushed, so if you are in a hurry you might want to tell them up front. I really liked how all the food for our entire group was all brought out at the same time for all courses. I highly recommend the valet parking. It was super easy and only $20.00. I’m not even sure where you would park otherwise if you are coming just to eat here and not attending an event.

Had an amazing dining experience at Commision Row. The service was friendly and welcoming. The food was delicious. It is great that they clearly mark what is gluten free and vegetarian on the menu making it easy to select a dish. The decor and interior design of the restaurant is very tasteful and elevated which made our dining experience quite memorable.

Google
Service was amazing. I wanted a great steak dinner for my birthday but somewhere that was kid friendly. My goodness, the GM came over with balloon animals and took them over to view and try the crab claws. I was taken aback by this level of experience so kudos to the GM. Steak was seasoned and cooked to perfection. Our waitress was on it and very personable. Will definitely enjoy having a good date night and know we can bring the kids without hesitation. The kids also loved the chicken nuggets in the kids menu. I would recommend the visiting making the first a bit more done. We may have just had an off the normal batch but they tasted a bit undercooked. Cunningham knows how delivery a great restaurant experience!

Google
Easily the best meal I’ve had in recent memory! The service was outstanding. Isaac and the commission row team were professional, attentive, and personable. As for the food, we had our favorites but there wasn’t a single dish that we didn’t enjoy. We especially loved the bone marrow!

Diane C.

Yelp
Exquisite! Service was excellent but outdone by the food. The lobster bisque was everything you imagine- buttery goodness with plenty of lobster. The popovers brought tears of happiness to my eyes. My husband's ribeye was beautifully ribbed and delightfully seasoned the added sauce was un needed but oh so tasty! We ordered cake to go because we didn't have an ounce of space left but will be enjoying our chocolate cake tonight. Fabulous

Yelp
Well well my husband took me to Commission Row for Valentine's Day and it didn't disappointment . The ambience and the vibes were there , commission row was one of the nicest restaurants we have been to in Indianapolis , our waiter was amazing as for the food the lobster bisque was maybe the best in the city extremely rich and flavorful , my husband got the New York strip and it was great I got the king Salmon and it's was cooked to perfection as for the sides the French dip Mac and cheese was great it was topped with onion rings. Overall It was great it was an extremely great add to downtown Indianapolis . One of the best new resultants in Indianapolis if you are looking for a date night or a special occasion I would recommend commission row.

Yelp
My husband and I have been wanting to try Commission Row and their devour menu looked great! We had great food and great service. The waitress was very attentive and made sure I enjoyed my drink and offered to get another if I didn't like it. Steak was cooked to perfection and the chocolate cake to die for The reason for the four stars is the ambiance. I couldn't wait to see what a lovely restaurant it is. Instead we were put in an area called the library which felt like an after thought. I didn't get to see the lovely restaurant. Instead I saw a sign for the restroom and people walking to said restroom. If I come back, I'm specifically asking not to be in the library.

Priscilla M.

Yelp
We love this new place! Food was worth the hype! I love our lobster bisque, my ora king salmon w/ lobster risotto. The filet mignon was perfectly cooked as we requested. The chocolate cake was the best chocolate cake I've ever had! I see that they have a good wine selection Service was just perfect. Our server was super friendly and knowledgeable with the menu (both food and drinks), our water kept filled out. I love the place, it is really spacious and nice and there is Mel's speakeasy downstairs.

Jessica B.

Yelp
If I could give a restaurant extra stars I would gladly give them to Commission Row. One of the best food experiences I've had in a while. I have planned to check them out since their opening and Devour was the perfect opportunity for me to treat myself. The ambience is very modern, elegant and upscale. It has the perfect lighting for a romantic or relaxing evening. My intentions were to go to Mel's but unfortunately, they were closed so I opted to sit at the bar. Alek helped me & was so kind. He was very personable & attentive all while handling the busy crowd. Someone else helped me pick out the perfect Cab (Prelius) to have with my dinner, I didn't catch his name but I think he was the bar manager and was also very welcoming. For starters, I had the jumbo shrimp cocktail. The cocktail sauce was perfect, not too spicy and had great flavor. For my entree, I had the 6oz filet with mashed potatoes & asparagus. The steak was "melt in your mouth" good, it was perfectly seared and seasoned. The mashed potatoes were buttery and whipped to perfection and the asparagus was perfectly cooked & seasoned. For dessert, I had the chocolate cake. That is how chocolate cake is supposed to be made! It came with fruit as well which helped balance out some of the richness from the chocolate. I thought I wouldn't finish all of my food but I didn't leave a crumb hahaha. 10/10 Highly Recommend! I cannot wait to return!

Yelp
Talk about intentional design! This restaurant is beautiful and it's clear to me that a comfortable guest experience was top of mind while designing the space. There is extra space everywhere so we never felt too close to other guests (waiting area and dining). The noise level was perfect- lively but not distracting. We even had our toddler along for family dinner and felt comfortable. We went for Devour Downtown and loved it. The food was delicious and the service was wonderful. I can't wait to return for a date night! I'm also exited to check out the speakeasy below.

Sheree W.

Yelp
Stopped in here before a Pacer game without reservations on a Saturday around 5pm. Luckily they had just a couple spots at the bar where we were able to squeeze in. When sitting at the bar it's nice because we got fantastic service. We had a couple of different servers that stopped by to check on us. We even chatted about he various liquor that had. One thing of note, is they have a pretty nice selection of bourbon. We just ordered a couple of drinks and the meatball, and fries. All really good. The vibe was very sexy and sleek which I loved. The lighting was dim but not too dim, the music was loud but not too loud. Perfect place for a date night, girls night, solo dinner, whatever. I would say not an idea place for kids, not sure if they even allow kids but if so, wouldn't recommended it. The bonus is there is a speak easy. Didn't have time to go down there but next time! Oh and the other bonus is it is a Cunningham which means you get points when you dine!

Mary H.

Yelp
We came here for our anniversary dinner and it was incredible. We split the 14oz ribeye and it was SO GOOD. Very tender and cooked to perfection. Our server was great - attentive and knowledgeable. He also congratulated us on our anniversary and brought us a surprise dessert. We were sat by the window by the ice rink and it was very romantic and sweet to watch the couples and families skating. This is a great, intimate spot. Even when it's busy you still get that intimate feel. This would be a great place for a business dinner as well. I always recommend getting a reservation in advance even if it's during the week.

Lori D.

Yelp
Wow! Our first visit to Commission Row exceeded our expectations. The space itself was beautiful. The food was delicious. The service was great - prompt, friendly, knowledgeable on the menu, and with perfect delivery on the course timing. The lobster bisque was the best I've ever had, the popovers were melt in your mouth delicious, the filet mignon was perfectly cooked, the desserts were perfection. Cannot wait to go back!

Jasmine H.

Yelp
Our first time at Commission Row for Devour was a memorable experience! The waiter was incredibly knowledgeable and even helped me create a custom drink that was spot-on. I started with the kale Caesar salad, which was a unique twist and my first time trying it. The crab cake was incredibly fresh and flavorful--a definite highlight. The only small disappointment was the salmon entrée, which was served with both a salad and spinach. After having already started with a salad, I would have preferred a starch or something else for variety. That aside, the overall experience was fantastic, and I highly recommend signing up for the Cunningham rewards--we used ours for this meal, and it was totally worth it. I'll definitely be returning!

Quinn A.

Yelp
My wife and I had dinner there for my birthday and it was wonderful. Our food was excellent from the first bite to our last. The service was exceptional. Issac was entertaining and knowledgeable along with everyone else we encountered. Highly recommend.

Maya W.

Yelp
Celebrated my birthday here and was very pleased with the atmosphere, service and food! Service was quick, friendly & informative. Great cocktails, I recommend the "'Meet Cute." Atmosphere and location is great in Indy, definitely Uber there or utilize their valet parking. Steaks were cooked perfectly and the potato gratin is delicious! Loved my birthday dessert.

Nicole H.

Yelp
Amazing next level good experience. The whole team was awesome and very welcoming. The food was delicious and fresh. The menu selection is very diversified and innovative.

Lauren S.

Yelp
This venue is gorgeous. I have to say all of the details ans fixtures are the perfect level of swanky and this is a great addition to this area. We stopped in before a concert and were glad we made reservations as they were very busy with fellow concert goers. It seemed they may not have been able to prepare for the rush so our server made it clear the bar was backed up about 20 mins for drinks. That being said, the dirty martini was great. All of the food was just ok. Nothing mind blowing as the prices would indicate. The bone marrow was tasty and so was the wedge salad. I liked the onion in the mac and cheese. Unfortunately, the waygu meatballs were a miss for us. The flavor was fine, but they were really tough and just didn't have good texture. All in all, i would visit again to check out the speakeasy area and enjoy a cocktail

Katie B.

Yelp
Upscale dining with an approachable inviting feel. Service was great and everything was tasty. The location is great and I enjoyed the view of the ice skating rink outside the window. A very warm and cozy setting for a good night.

Tianna C.

Yelp
Had no idea about this place until I was out to brunch with friends. We walked over to the Gainbridge area, went downstairs and found a cute little speakeasy. The lighting was dim, the seating was comfortable, and the vibe was immaculate. My group found the cutest 4 person seating area and immediately ordered drinks. I wasn't planning to eat since we had brunch not to long ago but soon as I saw oysters, my mind changed. Not to long after we'd been there the live music started and we had a front row seat. I loved all of it. I usually visit speakeasy's out of state, but I will definitely come back here. My husband would love this.

Joseph D.

Yelp
We were just the speakeasy downstairs and we're absolutely blown away. The cocktails were top rate with a very good wine list as well. Couldn't ask for better service.

Emma B.

Yelp
We decided to give Commission Row a try before the Pacers game and it did not disappoint. Major highlight was our waitress Maleigha who was the kindest, most attentive and personable server. Not only was the entire service exceptional the food was excellent. The lobster bisque was perfectly creamy and well seasoned and the bone marrow starter dish was exceptional. The Wagyu literally melted in my mouth. Not a single complaint about any of the multiple dishes we shared. Truly everything was fabulous, highly recommend!

Chris J.

Yelp
Wow - CRG has done it again! This was a amazing meal. The salmon was to die for - and yes, I will be back. Drinks were good. I would go just for the salmon. I will say that the Caesar salad was a little tasteless, even though it is one of their "dishes" but the salmon made up for it. Dessert was lovely. Service was lovely- even though it was a devour menu, never felt like anyone was looking down their noses at us other guests had the fillet, and they said they could cut it with a butter knife. It was so wonderful and cooked amazingly to perfection - I'm always amazed by the number of steakhouses that claimed to be great that don't know what medium rare is - this place does. Highly recommend - will be back - want to try out Mel's as wellthank you for a lovely evening commission Rob and Maliyah.

Paige T.

Yelp
Food: Delicious! Seasoned well. Good portions. I loved the salt and pepper service for the steak. The Brussels sprouts as a side dish is sooo tasty. I also got the Caesar salad and it's giving elevated salad! The crunch and flavor were spot on. Service: Amazing service. Great recommendations by the server. He was attentive and thoughtful in his responses. Ambiance: It's giving luxury. Loved the decor and environment so much.

Brandi A.

Yelp
Amazing wine list!!! Incredible crab cakes Outstanding service Sexy ambiance Best wedge salad I've ever had OUTRAGEOUS chocolate cake!!!! Another stratosphere delicious!!!!! It looks dark and dense and bitter but it's light, moist, creamy and perfectly balanced! Can't wait to go back!!!

Billie K.

Yelp
The manager came to meet and greet us as soon as our party of 15 was seated. He even brought a balloon animal for the child in our party. How cool! I ended up being too busy eating and did not get pictures. I have to say the macaroni and cheese is phenomenal! Don't skip this! I ordered the fillet and opted for medium. It was cooked to perfection and melted in my mouth. Everyone on the weight staff was super friendly. The maître D even came to greet us. Since our party was so large, we had two waiters. They both were good, but one was exceptional. I really wish I would remember his name. Everyone in our party seemed to enjoy their food. A couple people got the Wagyu burger and said it was very good. One even said she thought it was the best burger she's ever had. This location is excellent for any Gainbridge Fieldhouse events. As it is directly across from it. The chocolate cake with gold flakes was definitely one of my top three ever desserts in my life. I can see me ordering it to-go with the side of mac & cheese for dinner some evening. Dessert before dinner, " yes, please!"

Darci W.

Yelp
I don't know if there's any point to updating a review if you're giving the same rating, but we came back and had a different, yet similar level of experience. So I'm still giving 4 stars, but for a different reason. The main reason for losing a star last time was because of the cook on the steak being wrong not once, but twice. This time it was the crazy long wait for drinks. (But my husband's steak was cooked perfectly!) Like last time, I'm very happy with our server, but holy cow, the drinks took forever! On our first round of drinks, it was a little slow, (~15 min.) No big deal, except that my drink was wrong (ordered a vodka martini and they brought gin), and it took another 20 minutes to get the replacement. So by the time my correct drink came, the others ordered their second, and those also took 20 minutes to come out. It also took at least 15 minutes to get the bottle of wine that we ordered. The food was a little slow, too. Our entire dinner took over 3 hours. (Not ideal, but I do prefer that to places that bring out your entree while you're still on the appetizer.) The scallops & potatoes au gratin were absolutely delicious, but the delay on drinks was sort of insane. We had a reservation for Mel's, the bar downstairs, for after dinner, but dinner took so long that it was over an hour past our Mel's reservation time, so we just headed home.

Laken T.

Yelp
Mel's Speakeasy is a fantastic addition to downtown Indianapolis. The allure of the unmarked door leading downstairs creates an exciting, hidden gem vibe. The ambiance is captivating with its beautiful, dark, and moody atmosphere. Our experience, centered around cocktails and light bites, was thoroughly enjoyable. The carefully crafted menu and mysterious ambiance make Mel's a must-visit spot in the heart of the city. .

Kelly G.

Yelp
Once Commission Row was announced, I could NOT wait to try it. I'll admit I never actually looked at the menu; just saw photos and the ambience had me sold. We scored a reservation just before all star weekend. The restaurant was packed, but service was great. I tried the shrimp cocktail and the sea bass. Both were PHENOMENAL. Everything that came out looked amazing. We ventured down to the speak easy, but it was packed and looked more like a date night v. girls night. I will certainly be back though.

Jennifer B.

Yelp
Amazing food and service on Christmas Eve! Food was amazing! Loved the popovers were great! Loved the sea bass. My husband had the filet and it was great. My son had the salmon and loved it. Dessert was amazing as well. I only had room for gelato and the flavor was coffee. It was epic! Overall...great experience!

Rachel S.

Yelp
Commission Row was a five-star experience from the masterminds behind my absolute favorite Indy restaurants. While I visited during their opening week, I was blown away by how put seamless the entire service experience was the whole way. When I set my reservation, someone personally checked in before our arrival on any special occasions we were celebrating and dietary needs. When we arrived, the host kindly offered to take our coat and hang it. Walking through the space, the interior design is absolutely gorgeous with immaculate attention to detail and an environment that feels high-end while staying modern and welcoming. My party ordered the Ora King Salmon and Black Hawk Farms American Wagyu Burger for entrees and I got to try both to explore more of the menu. I really enjoyed both of them, as they were truly expertly prepared. Surprisingly enough the burger was my favorite in terms of the rich Wagyu beef and toppings! While the included sides (fries for the burger, a small salad for the salmon) seemed average to me, the additional sides shined. The order of my favorites is the Crispy Brussels Sprouts, French Onion Mac & Cheese, then the Mashed Potatoes. While our experience was amazing, Commission Row will be a special occasion or celebratory night out location for me due to the high price point. It goes toe-to-toe with local favorites like St. Elmo's or Ruth's Chris and in my opinion, comes out on top in terms of the menu, service, style, and overall experience.

Andy E.

Yelp
Great space, good food and excellent service! Sat at the bar after drinks at Mel's. Everything was excellent.

Antonia F.

Yelp
My husband and I went here for a date night and were immediately greeted by doormen/valet before we even entered. They were friendly and opened the doors for us. Upon entry we immediately acknowledge how lovely the high ceilings, decor and fixtures were. We were again greeted by a hostess who found our reservation and took us to our table. We had a cozy table that gave us a nice view of the new Gainsbridge plaza. Overall service was friendly and fast and we enjoyed our experience. The lobster toast appetizer was stellar and my filet was perfectly cooked and tender. The fries were tasty and they give you plenty. The Brussels sprouts were ok but nothing special. Unfortunately, my husband ordered the salmon and risotto and it had 0 flavor. It seemed they forgot the salt all together. We couldn't even taste garlic or fresh herbs etc. it was flavorless and that was disappointing bc it looked great and had potential to be a lovely dish. I would come here again but I do hope they figure out the flavors bc I noticed many reviews have had the same complaint.

Natalie W.

Yelp
The best food and experience we've had in downtown in a long time! If you're heading to something at Gainbridge, let them know and they will be sure to have your meal out sooner! We loved every dish but save room for dessert, the yuzu cheesecake was amazing. Then, head downstairs to Mel's!

Brent C.

Yelp
Our service and food were amazing! The atmosphere was great! We can't wait to go back!

M J.

Yelp
Yes!! The Best!!! Everyone there was really nice and attentive!! It is super super cute inside. absolutely gorgeous!! The food is so so delicious!! We had a big table and everybody loved their food. We will definitely come back here!! This place is a Must come to!!!

Billie O.

Yelp
Food was fabulous, our waiter Joaquin was great-he was on top and made sure our experience was wonderful, ambiance was right light setting and great music.

Amie M.

Yelp
A delightful time, thanks to our server, Dan! Impeccable service, decor, and music to boot. The view from our two-top was delightful, and the food was quite tasty. I went with the pork chops, with the onion rings being quite the welcome surprise, and my companion devoured the scallops. We were presented with complimentary dessert for her birthday, which was very kind. While I wasn't too crazy about the taste of the Financier Princess cake, it was gorgeous to look at. However, at $14, I would not order it again. The lemon drop martinis were yummy, but also a bit pricey for the size. Overall a great, yet expensive, experience. I'll definitely return and recommend for a special occasion. Bon appetit!

Olivia K.

Yelp
Commission Row offers an extraordinary dining experience with its beautiful ambiance and the best service I've ever received. The Gold Rush Cocktail and Dry Gin Martini with Lemon Twist were expertly crafted, providing a perfect start to the evening. The Popovers were light and fluffy, complementing the fresh Half Dozen Oysters from both East and West coasts. The 8oz Filets, accompanied by rich Bernaise and Branson Cognac-Green Peppercorn Sauce, were cooked to perfection. The French Onion Mac & Cheese was a comforting and flavorful side. To finish, the Espresso Martini was a delightful and invigorating end to a fantastic meal. Commission Row is a must-visit for a remarkable dining experience.

Tina H.

Yelp
Beautiful restaurant with good steaks. Held a company Christmas party this year, service was excellent though the steaks did not get cooked per requested, they were flavorful and tender. Broccolini a little crisp to my taste the glaze was good. Swiss roll very rich but good served chilled would have been better warm.

Candace B.

Yelp
One of my favorite spots in Indy! The Cunningham group doesn't miss. The decor. The staff. The bar. The food! Everytime I've dined here the experience goes up even higher. One of the best gluten free meals I've had in good long while. Bar selection is top tier!

Nancy B.

Yelp
We had the dining room to ourselves for lunch on this windy day and so scored a window seat overlooking Bicentennial Plaza and the outstanding service of Marissa. The decor here is beautiful. As expected, CRG delivers on its food too! Hubs had the wagyu burger with onion jam and the bun comes monogrammed with the CR branding. The truffle potato leek soup was splendid. The house salad came with green goddess dressing as a choice. It took me back in my memory of that delicious taste and it was great. The wagyu meatball starter was good but large enough to share and full of gooey burrata. Our kind server gave us a tour of Mel's speakeasy, the event space upstairs and the patio for outside dining. Thanks Cunningham restaurant group for delivering another outstanding dining experience.

Martina J.

Yelp
Dining at Comission Row was excellent! I waited until my second visit to write a review, and both times left me impressed. Decor. Ambience. Food. Service. 10 outta 10. No notes. I am sharing a review of my first visit. For Starters we shared: Crab Cakes - very fresh, lump meat with minimal (if any?) filler Seafood Salad - bright, citrusy and delicious! Wagyu Meatballs - very good with quality beef. Cocktails: Lemon Drop - tart! featured a bit of lemon curd that added a creamy texture Paloma - a solid, classic rendition My Entree: Sea Bass - So. Good. A lil dill, creamy pear vodka sauce. Really well done. Presentation did not do it justice in my opinion I highly recommend a visit.

Jac B.

Yelp
Ordered the scallops. Came with three. On a bed of butter-soaked poorly seasoned cabbage. And a couple slices of bland carrots . It was fine but grossly underwhelming for the price of almost $60 including tax and tip for that single dish. Don't waste your money here.

Jasmine L.

Yelp
The inside is a great vibe! Low light and classy! The cocktails were standard but I hear they have fancier cocktails in the speak easy downstairs. The crab cake and the shrimp cocktail were my favorite appetizers of the many I have posted here. I had the salmon for dinner which had great flavor! I would recommend trying this place if you have not! Perfect for a date night or a girls night! I will definitely be back!

Roger L.

Yelp
Incredible dinner tonight at Commission Row!! Started with popovers accompanied by sun-dried tomato oil, followed by mussel conserva on a bed of fennel salad, and then octopus terrine (carpaccio). For entrees, I had the Chilean sea bass and my girlfriend had a New York strip steak topped with an awesome scallop. For dessert, went with Brie cheesecake, essentially a deep-fried wheel of Brie. Drink menu was simple, and the sommelier was super fun. The service was outstanding from start to finish (thanks Ben!!). He walked us through the menu and basically set it up like a tasting, after our meal walked us down to the speakeasy and introduced us to the manager who chilled with us to teach us about the interior design (thanks Danielle!). From start to finish the meal was epic! Legit no expense was spared on the restaurant, buildout, food, service all top notch!

Gracie R.

Yelp
Food, service, and environment were all amazing! We started with the bone marrow brûlée and it truly melted in your mouth. The wedge salad was massive and definitely a step above your average wedge. I ordered the Chilean sea bass and while I wasn't the biggest fan of what was underneath, the fish itself was cooked perfectly. Steak was full of flavor and loved the roasted garlic that came on the side. Brussel sprouts were pretty standard however, the STAR of the show au gratin potatoes and lemon yuzu cheesecake are a MUST. We are taking a break from alcohol and they have a large list of NA/mock-tails to choose from (their cocktail list of course looked incredible too). Worth every penny!

Arlean J.

Yelp
We were excited to have dinner at Commission Row! The restaurant reached out to us ahead of our visit to see if we had any special requests which was really nice! The restaurant was pretty busy for a Tuesday, but there was also a Pacers game. The ambiance was great and the decor was beautiful. A lot of great light and very spacious. For starters we ordered the crabcakes and the lobster bisque and they were both tasty. The lobster bisque had a really good flavor but not a lot of lobster. For our second course, we ordered the Wagyu burger and the Chilean Seabass along with a side of potato au gratin. All in all the food was OK. I wasn't blown away and the fish was a bit cold. Our server was incredibly attentive and very pleasant so that was a plus. I definitely want to give Mel's, their speakeasy a try during my next visit but I'd probably skip dinner.

Brian M.

Yelp
First time at Commission Row and what an awesome experience it was! Great wine and whiskey, delicious apps, phenomenal dry aged steaks with bone marrow on the side and the French onion Mac was outstanding. The service from all the staff, especially our waiter, was stellar. I can't wait to go back... highly recommended!

Maria

Yelp
The only reason l'm not leaving one star is because the service was great and the atmosphere was also very good. Everything started good we ordered our drinks. I had the winter margarita it was $20. It was good. We ordered the Valentine's Day special which was a TomaHawk steak before our meal arrived. There was a foul smell, but I wasn't sure if it was a person or if it was something that was Bad until my food came out. Remind you this was a $300 bill the steak smelled rotten. I tried to take a bite out of my food and I couldn't eat my steak. My husband didn't like the smell, but he tried eating the steak by putting a lot of A1 sauce on it but he as well thought it smelled really weird. We have ate the same cut of meat at the Eagles nest and Ruth Chris and never had this experience before we wanted to try something new since we always go to the same places I thought maybe the Margarita was getting to me and I went home. I gave the bone to my dogs and they didn't even wanna eat it. I did tell my server the steak smelled weird, but I didn't want to make a big fuss specially on such a busy night on Valentine's Day but it's really unacceptable. The parking was already $35 and the $300 meal with a rotten steak and much rather eat at Texas roadhouse at this point.

Yelp
Cunningham group you did your thang with this one!! I was so excited when I got an email about the opening of this well throughout venue. Sent it to my friend so she could make us restorations for our friend's birthday. We received 5 star service from the moment we walked in to the moment we exited. When you enter there is an event space upstairs I think it's called "Above" and a speakeasy below called "Mel's". The actual restaurant is called Commission Row. Our server name was Heather and she was probably the best server I've ever encountered. She was so accommodating and just such a good vibe. We put in a couple apps wagyu meatballs (my app) and crab cakes (my friends app) the meatballs were sooooooo juicy and flavorful I almost ate them all by myself. I didn't indulge in the crab cakes but the ladies said they were good and they looked fabulous. Moving on to drinks, I knew we were going to go check out the speakeasy after dinner so I stuck with wine. The server sent a sommelier to the table...yes, they have a sommelier and he suggested a fabulous red wine "Stolpman Syrah" to accompany my meatballs and entree - 14OZ GUNTHORP FARMS PORK CHOP. I also ordered a side of the French onion mac & cheese based on Heather's recommendation. The food arrived and everything looked and smells amazing, my pork chop was really the star of the table it looked so beautiful the presentation of having it cut in half was fantastic and made it easier for me to not eat the entire thing lol. The pork chop was accompanied by some onion straws and a bourbon glaze, it paired fantastically together. The mac was so good, didn't really have a French onion taste as that's my favorite soup, but it did not disappoint and I'd eat it again. I asked for salt & pepper and Heather came back with a whole display of different salts and peppers some of them were smoked...I'd never seen anything like this it was so fancy and I loved it! Our server brought out my friend's birthday cake and they even took it back after we sang happy birthday and cut it for us. We cashed out and headed downstairs to Mel's which was such a beautiful and sexy vibe it's huge down there. They have open bar seating by hostess who seat you at the other tables. Thank you so much for an amazing experience start to finish. Great things to note: - elevator. - valet. - bathrooms downstairs and upstairs. - complimentary coat check.

Yelp
Let me be the first to state how much I HATE Indianapolis Downtown! The streets are the absolute worst to navigate, though. With that being said, Commission Row is worth the headache! I didn't get to do a Big 50th Birthday Party in 2020 due to The Vid, and I really wanted to do something special, at least for my 52nd. So why not go to the newest hot spot in Indy. And boy, I'm glad I did! This place is gorgeous!!! I even took the pivotal bathroom selfie. Don't judge me!! The Ladies at the front desk were super sweet. The hostess who sat us was very accommodating. Our waiter (Jack) was knowledgeable and, most importantly, HONEST about the menu. And oh my God, he smelled so good!!! I hate I forgot to ask him what cologne he had on. And the concierge (I think his name is Shawn)... I want him to be my shopping BFF!! Now that I've set the scene let's get into the food. YUM!!! Everything was delicious! I like that you have to give your complete order (appetizer, drink, main course, and dessert) upfront. It gives you more of a 5-star seamless dining experience. I truly enjoyed myself here and though I didn't pay for my meal (THANKS HUBBY) I could tell by his facial expression the check wasn't too bad. So, if you want to treat yourself, have a romantic date, or have a fun boujee girl's night... this is the place for you! You're welcome!

Yelp
The restaurant is gorgeous. I love the modern look and the beautiful light fixtures, especially the ones over the large table by the entrance. We also went downstairs to Mel's. Gorgeous ambiance, robust drinks, excellent service and great live music. The service was impeccable. Jason was phenomenal from start to finish. He made excellent recommendations and had us order all at once so he and the kitchen could time things perfectly. I ordered two glasses of wine with dinner, a red to start and switched to white for dinner since I decided to get fish. Jason brought a taste of the wine I ordered along with a taste of another similar bottle that he recommended. I chose his both times, they were not even upsells, just better than what I ordered. The food was delicious. We had oysters, wagyu beef carpaccio, lobster bisque, ribeye and Chilean seabass. Everything was cooked perfectly and beautifully presented. The lobster bisque was the best I have ever had. The ribeye was incredible and perfectly cooked medium rare with a nice char, the best steak I have had in Indianapolis.
