The ATL Hit List: The Best New Restaurants In Atlanta - Atlanta - The Infatuation

"When you need a margarita at 9am, Communidad Taqueria in Old Fourth Ward is the move. With Highland Bakery gone and Bomb Biscuit now in Grant Park, this spot steps in with an all-day Tex-Mex menu and a come-as-you-are crowd already on round two before 8:30am. Tacos are decent, come on soft housemade tortillas, and nod to country stars. Fittingly, The Dolly is our top pick. It’s filled with eggs, paprika-spiced chicken chorizo, home fries, and cheese. And make sure to start or end your meal with the warm, puffy, cinnamon-dusted sopapilla. Pair it with your margarita for the perfect morning version of happy hour." - nina reeder, juli horsford, jacinta howard, jacinta howard, jacinta howard, jacinta howard, jacinta howard, juli horsford, juli horsford, nina reeder, nina reeder, juli horsford, jacinta howard

Best New Restaurants in Atlanta Right Now | Eater Atlanta

"If you’re looking for all-day breakfast tacos, head here. Comunidad Taqueria, a new all-day cafe by Poco Loco chef Nick Melvin, is now open in the former Highland Bakery space. The menu includes plenty of breakfast tacos on house-made tortillas — like the Tammy with eggs, cauliflower “chorizo” and roasted sweet potatoes, or the Willie with eggs, bacon, and homefries. Quesadillas, chilaquiles, soups, and salads are also served." - Henna Bakshi

The New Atlanta Restaurant Openings You Should Know About - Atlanta - The Infatuation

"The old Highland Bakery space is finally getting some action, thanks to Communidad Taqueria, a Tex-Mex spot that serves tacos, burritos, and margaritas. You’ll also find Mexican pastries and desserts on the menu, which may help fill the sweet tooth void that Highland left in this community." - juli horsford, jacinta howard

Love it! So happy they've finally open! The space has been beautifully transformed. It seems so much nicer. I live a few doors down and have been watching the construction. They did not skimp. The tortillas are excellent and we're really looking forward to buying them fresh here from now on. The chips! So crunchy! Tacos were yummy. The ice cream sandwiches were out of this world. Looking forward to becoming a regular regular at Communidad.

Really great atmosphere and food! We tried the carne asada, beef picadillo, and fried chicken tacos; all were amazing. I also highly recommend the burritos. Everything tasted super fresh, and we can't wait to try more on the menu!

The restaurant hosted a friendly patio meet and greet while they are waiting on licensing from the city to formally open. They served a selection of tacos bursting with flavor!!! Can't wait for the big reveal. Come on City of Atlanta!!

Comunidad is a total gem. The vibe is warm and welcoming, the kind of place where you immediately feel at ease — and then the food hits the table and it’s all over from there. Every single dish we tried was spot on. The tacos were next-level — packed with flavor, beautifully topped, and thoughtfully balanced. The quesadilla was golden and crisp, stuffed with well-seasoned meat, and paired perfectly with fresh toppings and beans on the side. The kitchen team clearly takes pride in their work — you can taste it in every bite. And don’t miss the margarita — bright, citrusy, and just strong enough to make you want a second. Highly recommend!

No pics of food, yet. Because I ate it too fast. Vegetarian tacos, vanilla citrus concha, and chocolate chip cookie with just enough salt

As you can see some tacos were eaten before the picture was taken…. The tacos and salsa was delicious and the staff was friendly! I will be back

Google
Great menu selection, they have breakfast items all day for the people who love bfast for dinner. Food is tasty, service is amazing. Pro tip, sit at the bar to skip the line. Sauces need to be a bit more spicy but I love spicy. I like that they make the tortillas in house and use Molina masa for the corn tortillas which is from a local business. I’ll be back, gracias amigos!

I went in hoping online this place. With no menu online ( that could find) I was forced to go in. Once there I looked over the menu and didn’t really want to spend like $30 for 4 tacos with tax. Maybe I’m cheap but the prices felt steep on some stuff, which made the other items less appealing. So anyway after standing in line for about 8-10 mins while the cashier small talked some friends he finally acknowledged me. I just ordered chips and salsa which was the most reasonably priced thing and I was already there. I sit and the chips came out fast. As they should. One of the employees stopped and asked if I needed anything and I asked a question about some cake. He didn’t know the answer. When he came back 5 min later he brought the wrong answer and had to go back again to ask around. After a few different questions that he couldn’t answer any of I sort of gave up. I feel like the down time of permits or what not would have been a good time for training on menu items and how to use the handhelds to get cost or info. I asked about the cake because no sign indicated the flavor just something about garden cake or daily cake. Once I finally got the flavor I was like sure I’ll get a piece. Mind you it was 2pm and he’s like oh it’s not ready. So I ask how long!? He didn’t know. Eventually he comes back with a 30-45 min wait for cake. 45 mins for a slice of cake?! I mean is it literally just going in/coming out mid day?! As for the space it’s super tight inside and if people are sitting at the bar area I feel like you almost have to turn sideways and side step down like 30-40 ft of high top chairs. Maybe it’s me but I’m not a big guy (155lb) Outside seating seemed a little more spacious and probably more ideal if available. I get it’s new but after the delays, friends and family, free food day, and everything else at least some basic menu knowledge. Certainly a bumpy day

Yelp
We've long been fans of Poco Loco, a burrito institution in Kirkwood (if you haven't been there for a Thu-Sat breakfast burrito, you gotta go), so we were thrilled when we heard the owner/chef was opening another restaurant in our neighborhood. Tried it for the first time this weekend - OMG. First, the location - it's easy to get to, and parking is a breeze (but we biked, so that's easy too!). The vibe is great for hanging out with a friend or bringing all of your kids - chips, salsa, and guac were delicious. The tacos and burrito were unreal - I love what they're able to do with veggies here! The cauliflower chorizo and mushroom rajas were crazy delicious, and all three chicken or beef options we tried were also amazing. Also got a salad, 10/10 (that dressing!). Food came out fast, easy to transport takeout, and everyone was very kind. I can't believe more people haven't left reviews, which is what prompted me to do this - if you haven't been, go this weekend!

Yelp
This is a new taco spot that is pretty decent! They have a pretty large menu with average pricing, it's order at the counter style. I ordered a vegetarian burrito but it was so spicy I couldn't eat it. Their chips were overly salted. But the food did come out quick! They will card you too, even if you have your ID on your phone it won't work without the official peach ID. Large indoor and outdoor space to sit at.

Yelp
5 Stars all the way around. Atmosphere, food, service, drinks, people. Love this space! The Big Hoss brisket mole taco may be the best taco I've ever eaten. The salsa macha on the Emmylou was amazing. Tacos were piled high with toppings. I left full and happy. And the Touchtunes music was on point. Will be back many times!

Yelp
Ok. Get yourself there now. Great food with vegetarian and vegan options. The chili crisp sauce is off the charts. Such friendly and welcoming service at the bar. We had the two vegetarian tacos and a poblano and corn burrito with chips and guacamole. So gooooood!

Yelp
Food was good, nice to have a new neighborhood spot to walk to! I prefer the flour over their corn tortillas. Everything had a good flavor. Staff was friendly and helpful!

Yelp
Deeeeeeelicious! What a great meal. Everything is layered with flavor and the menu is so unique. We've been going since the owner opened Poco Loco so we know this food inside and out...and this is just next level. The bar was great. Casual, good meal, sitting outside with our Margaritas...big fans!

Yelp
The atmosphere is very accommodating and the staff bends over backwards to provide a great experience. The service is extremely quick, and the food is outstanding. They really go beyond to source authentic ingredients. The owner is amazing, extremely friendly and wants everyone from his customers to his staff to have a great experience. The homemade tortillas are phenomenal, and the desserts are authentic and delicious. A great place for breakfast lunch or dinner, and highly recommend giving it a try.
