How Food Deserts Are Inextricably Linked to Racism in America | Eater
"A 24-foot mobile grocery store created to meet community demand for an actual store rather than a traditional pantry; it is stocked with freezers of meat, dairy, and fresh produce and regularly visits rural and inner-city neighborhoods (most Wednesdays), specifically targeting areas with no full-service grocery stores." - Randi Pink
This is such a great place to do community service. I go every year with Publix to help them serve the community. Everyone is very friendly and willing to show us how to properly sort and package the donations, no matter how many questions we ask! The food bank does so much good for the central Alabama region.

Truck drivers delivering here,be careful if you have more than 25000 pounds because the door is in the hill and your engine power may have problems to back up. I have the experience with 40500 pounds. Take time and don’t force your engine to hard. Customers have no problem. Don’t come here overnight too even pictures look wide place

This is the distribution center for the whole community they do not distribute food there. Just for future reference, in case you search local food pantries in birmingham al. Although they where very nice and helpful and gave me a references sheet and a website to go to for local churches and dates they are open. By the way very nice people and helpful the place was very clean and presentable, handicap accessible.

A few of us from US Steel Fire & Rescue went to help unload trucks loaded with food. We had a great time, got to meet several people we knew, and a bunch we didn't, but everyone worked hard together for a great cause. We'll go again when needed.

Very professional. Nice place to deliver to. Truckers be careful when backing to this dock. The hill this place on makes it hard to line the trailer with the door. So take your time and be careful they are really understanding here.
