Comptoir Sainte-Cécile

The brownie is classic and some nuts on top of it are making this bakery more interesting. The sandwich with salmon is hard to evaluate. The crust is too hard for me just like overnight. On the contrary, the filling is flavorful: soft potato, fresh salmon, some green veggies and the most impressive one, the sauce inside, all of them make the filling flavorful. Btw, there’s almost no service and I doubt whether I should pay the tips.

Very cute place for breakfast, lunch and brunch. I ordered the salmon tartare sandwich with sour cream and herbs. For 11$ you get a great portion. I heart the brunch is amazing so I’m looking forward to coming to try it. The staff is friendly and they have a great selection of local beers and wines. The number of seats is limited (approx. 7-8).

I had the sandwich tartare de saumon and it was delicious. I love the texture of the sandwich, with pressed bread, and the soft but not starchy potatoes. The temperature of everything was cohesive. The heat from the toasting didn't affect the salmon tartare filling at all and the temperature difference wasn't drastic so the overall experience of biting into the sandwich was very pleasant!

Delicious sandwich and really, really nice patio. We got the chicken Caesar sandwich and it was so delicious! The inside has many drinks and prepared salads as well!

Delicious low key place for a quick original home made lunch or snack featuring a large summer terrace.

One of my favorite places to grab a quick lunch (either grab a stool inside or use the tables just outside). Delicious, original menu, and an impeccable service. Simple and lovely. Really great with allergies/intolerances, no judgements, even adapting recipes when it’s not too busy. Awesome experience every time.

Cute spot in the area that I discovered when looking for a sugar shake kind of brunch, the last weekend of March. The benedicte eggs was very tasty and the hollandaise sauce was lighter than usual, surprisingly delicious and definitely more digest ! The concept of this Comptoir remind me of Le Cartet in the old port, as you can buy some gourmet and local food. They have bread and pastries from Guillaume bakery, as well !

The mushroom sandwich was absolutely smashing: one of the best sandwiches I've had in a while! Get it!!

I just fell in love with that place! Sainte-Cécile Épicerie is not far away from the Jean-Talon metro station, you do have to walk a little bit though. My son was celebrating his birthday this week, but he's kinda like his mom... The celebration lasts for a week lol! He wanted to go for brunch, I always wanted to try this place, so here we were around 11, curious and hungry. The decor is a mix of rustic and modern, there were a few people at the counter and a couple seated at the entrance, but there was still a little space for the both of us ( translation, it's a delicatessen/meat shop/brunch spot it won't fit large groups). We were greeted with smiles and our order was taken very quickly, my son ordered a chocolate cookie, an orange juice and their French toast with Cheesecake, Blueberries, Coconut and Lemon and I ordered their Poached egg with leeks and sausage with a latte. When our order came the waiter realized that he asked for the wrong dish and offered it to us as a compensation for the wait, I really appreciated the attention. so we ended up trying their Pancake with herbs and salmon tartar as well! Every single dish was fresh, full of flavour and delicious! The cherry on the cake was their little cabinet full of little stories and coloring books for kids...That's a big plus for me, my son really enjoyed reading them (and it sure helped with the wait). Needless to say that I will be back to try the delicatessen part of their store and more of their succulent brunch menu!

Sainte-Cecile is a grocery store/eatery with fantastic food. Though there is not a lot of seating there (pretty much just counter space), it is comfortable for a group of two-to-three people. Their carrot soup (the soup of the day) was tasty and I loved it as a side to my smoked salmon sandwich. I am excited by all the prepared foods they had in their fridge and will definitely go back when I'm feeling lazy and don't want to cook.
