Woody chicken cutlet (REALLY chewy/stringy, honestly tough to swallow), breakfast burrito had about 25% of the sausage that the website photo shows. This place could be great if they served ingredients/portions that reflect the pricing—staff/owners seem like good people, posting this review in hopes that they turn it around.

I went there for lunch. The location was 21st and 30th. The interior was accommodating with mini arcade games on the window counter. I ordered the fried fish(cod) hero with a side of fries and a cane sugar cola. The portions were medium-sized-I was expecting more size-wise. Staff was friendly. Pricing is steep. Overall, flavor and quality was good!

Ordered my fave vodka eggplant. Came with zero sauce. Not sure i can come back if they can’t get my usual right.

I’ve been following these guys for a bit on IG. Was eagerly excited to try them but always got delayed or they’re closed when I’m out of work! Finally I had a chance and it was during our great pandemic. This place is just awesome. Customer service, cleanliness, and the vibe of the place. It’s retro/punk in my opinion. There’s ample sandwiches to choose from, and all of them delicious. The patty melt is juicy and done right. Mozzarella sticks are great. Meat stacked high on my hero. Deliciousness in every bite. Their vodka sauce is awesome! Taste good on everything. The old fashion coffee drink is delicious! Can’t wait to go back and support this amazing sandwich spot! And I just found out today they have a burger spot!!! Can’t wait to try that too!

Omg truly the best sandwich I have ever had. The cheese pull 😍. I had the pesto parm and the chicken was delicious and the melted cheese. I cant wait to try out the whole menu!

I heard of this place on TikTok and saved it prior to my trip here. I went tonight and everything that was said about this place was 100% correct. The customer service was amazing, shout-out to the brother Ivan. The food was just too good. The rodeo burger was EASILY the best burger I’ve ever had in my life. I’d come here every night if I could, it’s that good. There’s two tables outside for a total of 8 chairs. The food here is also very well priced. I’d recommend this place to everyone.

It is with extreme dissatisfaction that I report the incident regarding my order . I placed the order for pickup and, after a 15-minute wait, the time was suddenly extended. To my surprise and indignation, I arrived at the establishment after 30 minutes and found the place closed. This demonstrates a lack of professionalism and respect for the customer. I wasted my time for a service that was simply not provided. This is unacceptable conduct. I am putting this online as a warning to other consumers.

This place has really high quality sandwiches (and other food). Terrific vibe…and one of the most entertaining menus I’ve read. Highly recommend The Tony and the Cali Club. You’ll be happy you ate food from Compton’s.

Favorite spot for sandwich no doubt. Super big portion with the price, great value. I love their chopped cheese sandwich, which is basically a double cheese burger with a lot of their special dressing. It's super filling, a bit greesy, but very comforting. I would opt for this sandwich over a burger. Also like their hot sandwiches with chicken fingers, also nicely designed on the flavor and texture.

The Spicy Chicken Parm- This sandwich was great. The bread was smooshy and the chicken was moist, and the cheese was melty. The sandwich had flavor but wasn't too spicy and all of the ingredients melded very well. The Michelle- The brie was good, but the sandwich needed one component to be the hero flavor, because overall it was just a little too subtle. For example, maybe if the onion hadn't been pickled, or if the mustard had been spicier, or there had been more cheese. It was a fine sandwich, they didn't skimp on the turkey or anything else, but it wasn't anything special. The Spicy Chicken Parm sandwich blew it out of the water. The guys behind the counter were super friendly- they offered us ice and cups for our cooler drinks. One was eating his lunch when we came in, and stopped eating immediately as soon as we ordered to make our sandwiches. I loved that they had connect four on all of the indoor tables, and appreciated the small outside seating area (but beware the pigeons that perch on the roof- we had a close close call).

My favorite chopped cheese sandwich! Great crunchy soft bread and very flavorful filling. Will cure a hangover or just comfort you on a cold day when you want to indulge! Other things I've had are good quality ingredients too!

Ordered: Calabria (~$10): Soft Scrambled Eggs, Cheddar, Avocado, Mike's Hot Honey & Calabrian Chiles on a toasted poppy seed Kaiser roll Aya's take: Found myself back at Compton's but this time for breakfast! The staff is always super friendly and welcoming. My order wasn't ready when I arrived but they assured me they were working on it. I probably waited an additional 5 or so minutes. The Calabria is super solid! The scrambled eggs were soft and fluffy, the cheddar was melted, and the avocado added that fresh element that's an absolute must in breakfast sandwiches. Despite the Mike's Hot Honey and Calabrian chiles in the sandwich, it honestly wasn't that spicy. I did like the added flavor but the sandwich still felt a bit dry and maybe could've used a creamier sauce (like a spicy aioli) on the side. Other than that, it definitely hit the spot and kept me full for a while.

A solid choice for the residents in the area. This location has revamped their interior a bit and took down the outdoor setup. They have a large variety of sandwiches, burgers, wraps to choose from, you'd eventually find one that you like. The wait is long during lunch hour so it's best you order in advance or come outside peak times. Place is small, maybe 1-2 people can sit inside and a handful outside in the blazing sun.

This is a wonderful hidden gem. As you walk in past the sidewalk patrons , you are greeted by retro arcade games (free of charge). Also has a kiosk where you can order, but why? They have wonderful employees. Every time I go here, I'm greeted with smiles and jokes from the guy at the register taking orders. The menu is full of great sandwiches, and it's something for everyone. The place is super clean and you could also sit and play classics like connect four while you wait for your food.

I've ordered from here a few times now but today I got the Calabria breakfast sandwich and added bacon. Fantastic. Highly recommend. I am going to be fantasizing about this sandwich for the rest of the day.

My husband heard great things about Compton's, so we decided to drive 30 minutes from Long Island to try their sandwiches. It was around 10 am, the girl who took my order was nice and helpful. We got the mozzarella sticks, french fries, chopped cheese, Philly cheesesteak and The Jimmy sandwich. My order took a while- ppl who ordered a single sandwich after me got theirs first, which kind of irked me. We weren't a big fan of the mozzarella stick breading- it tasted hard (overfried) without having much flavor. The entire family loved the fries and the chopped cheese- both were seasoned to perfection. The chopped cheese is comparable to the one @ Hajji's in Harlem. The Philly cheesesteak was disappointing because the meat wasn't chopped thin enough, so there were random large chunks that were very chewy, and there wasn't enough cheese whiz. The Jimmy sandwich was great with just the right amount of spiciness (my fave). If you're craving some good sandwiches, there are some diamonds in the rough here.

Yelp's Summer of Sandwiches is a great way of spotlighting local businesses that I might not have ever visited on my own. I dread coming to Astoria, but for Compton's delicious sandwiches, I would make an exception. I found parking on a lazy Wednesday afternoon, a couple of blocks away. On Google Streetview, Compton's had a covered street hutch for dining, but has since been removed and there are 3-4 tables and chairs on the sidewalk now. Ordering my sandwiches to go, I waited a few minutes and heard my cheesesteak being made by the satisfying pinging of the spatula hitting the steel flattop grill chopping up the steak. The first sandwich to come out of the kitchen though, was the Burrata Combo. It's a great cold hero sandwich with lots of crusty & creamy mozzarella on top of layers of hot & sweet soppressata, ham, prosciutto & arugula topped with their vodka sauce. The Vodka Chicken Parm hero was pretty good also with a crispy fried chicken breast topped with mozzarella and again with vodka sauce. But my favorite had to be the Spencer (named after my Yelp buddy?). It is a tasty, perfectly seasoned cheesesteak topped with provolone, peppers, onions and sauced with red pepper aioli. It was like perfection on a slab of bread. I think taking home it home took away from it's full flavor, so I can't wait to come back to try out all the other sandwiches for breakfast, lunch & dinner and eat them on the sidewalk, piping hot!

Fantastic sandwich destination in LIC (but pretty much Astoria, if you ask me). Ordered the Burrata combo and it was as decadent as the description. The salt from the cured meats was balanced perfectly by the creamy burrata and fresh mozzarella. The vodka sauce kinda got lost in the mix. Ordered the Jaclyn to try a hot sandwich. The eggplant was perfectly fried and the balsamic fig glaze was the star condiment. I wish I could get that as a side and dip the sandwich. Couldn't get enough. This place has so many amazing sandwich options, it was hard to settle on 2 for this trip. Might have to come back and sample another 2. Also not too far from the ferry so you can enjoy this with a riverfront view!

What a great sandwich shop. Great staff and awesome menu options. The sandwiches are made very well. You get what you pay for here! Quality ingredients and great combinations of ingredients equal an awesome sandwich. I will be back to try the CHADIE

Dont sleep on these little spots. That's what this city is about! Small sandwich shop with big flavor!!! I went into this small local corner shop and got "The Cristopher" Great great sandwich and will definitely try another sandwich next time. The gentleman behind the counter could not have been more personable.

I ordered Compton's for a cozy breakfast in bed on a Saturday morning. It was insanely delicious and hit the spot! I got the Greenpointer, which came topped with hot honey and a hash brown. This may be my new go-to! I can't wait to come back for lunch and try out some of those sandwiches. I highly recommend this.

Holy moly sweet mother of god! Okay, I'll be the first to admit, ordering a meatless sandwich is kindaaaa sacrilegious... but this gem... checks all the boxes! I can't believe I'm saying this but I'm so satisfied! I was originally concerned I'd have to order this and a chop cheese to feed my appetite, but the jaclyn is a complete showstopper. Seriously, I didn't think it was physically possible to fill up on a veggie sandwich aside from mushrooms, but I'm a brand new woman! Top 5 sandwich for me, fosho

Some of the best sandwiches in Queens without a doubt. Bit pricey but what the heck. I just wish the drive into Astoria and finding parking was much easier but yeah, great sandwiches are worth the travel. Their "Tony" and "Chadie" are both Must haves.

We stopped in here for lunch after doing a bit of research on Yelp. Small sandwich shop on the corner of the street. Menu is pretty extensive. We ordered a Michelle which was apples Brie turkey and caramelized onions. Really fantastic the wife loved it. Also got a Jaclyn which was eggplant and mozzeralla along with some fig spread. I think it is the little extras like this that take the sandwiches to another level. They were a Good size too. Next time I'd try a sandwich with meat and hope I can come back soon.

Fantastic sandwich's that are with the clogged arteries. The vodka parm is divine and I've yet to be disappointed with any of their sandwiches.

I Brought my daughter along w me so we could try some sandwiches from here she got the ROB which was basically like a Turkey bacon club. She did enjoy it it was a pretty big sandwich and looked good! For myself I brought the crispy fish unfortunately nothing about this sandwich was crispy and I ate it right away, it had cheese, arugula and lime aoli. This place looks to be better for people that eat meat than non meat eaters in my opinion. The location is small I do believe they had an area outside for outdoor seating.

I came here for another breakfast sandwich after finding out about it via a Yelp event! The breakfast sandwiches are so delicious and I highly recommend the egg everything sandwich. I thought it was really flavorful. The workers are also really nice

I've ordered delivery from here and stopped in, and both experiences were great. + Apple cider donut - meh, wouldn't get again + Jaclyn sandwich - fried eggplant was perfect + New Yorker sandwich - also perfect + The rob sandwich - perfect x 3 + The Michelle sandwich - only letdown so far, wouldn't get again As of January 2023, they had some limited outdoor seating (no indoor), just note it's unheated.

*I'll keep updating this review as i try more from here* After moving to LIC from Jamaica queens, it has been the biggest struggle to find a good sandwich!! I am so grateful for Compton's! They actually know how to put together a mean sandwich. Perfectly laying out the cold cuts in folds rather than flat. Their creations are delicious and I'm determined to try them all! Great spot for a quick breakfast sandwich! The GreenPointer with the sauce and the latkes was amazing! Definitely will be coming back here in the future. I would've preferred a little less cream cheese on the Avo toast to be a little "healthier" but overall it was delicious and huge portion!

First time at Compton's, thanks to a yelp event. I tried their Burrata combo which is a large sandwich filled with cold cuts and mozzarella. Was able to share it. Also got a kid's cheeseburger and fries which had bacon and a large patty. Service is friendly; the young lady offered advice to others new to the place. Outdoor seating only; shade on some tables in the early afternoon so decided to take the food home. Bottom bread and veggies got a bit soggy but still tasty sandwich.

good sandwiches but it's like a heart attack in a bite ..... would not recommend if u have a heart problem! it's super greasy but i love it . can't eat it everyday tho ! a lot of opts which is good

I have lived in the neighborhood for over 15 years and this was my first experence with Compton's, and it was excellent! I can't believe it took so many years to discover this place. We ordered the ROB and also the Michelle sandwich and both were fresh and delicious! Delivery was quick as well and got our order within 30 minutes. Will definitely be ordering from Comptons again!

Looking for some of the best sandwiches in all of NYC? Then look no further, because Compton's has you covered! Here's what we ordered: ~The New Yorker-we customized this sandwich a bit. Ours had two eggs over medium, bacon, cheese, ketchup, and a hashbrown on a poppy seed Kaiser roll. The eggs had the perfect amount of drippy yolk. Hands down one of the best breakfast sandwiches I've ever had. Everything about it was perfect! ~Chopped Cheese Sandwich-Absolute cheesy goodness and a NYC classic! ~Grilled chicken burrata club-grilled chicken, burrata, bacon, lettuce, tomato, mayo, and truffle balsamic on a hero. Yes, you read that right. BURRATA on a sandwich. That thing was stuffed! ~Vodka Meatball Parm Sandwich with ricotta cheese and vodka sauce. Vodka sauce really elevates your typical meatball parm sandwich! There are literally SO MANY sandwiches to choose from! I can't wait to go back and try more HUGE sandwiches.

Compton has great food. And from what I can tell receives a lot of business! I came in after the gym to try this place out. There is a lot on the menu so a lot to pick from ranging from healthier to also "fuck your diet" lol. One thing I wanted to note is we got a table and it was dirty so my friend asked for something to wipe it down and the employee didn't offer to clean it up- not the customers job to clean up after other people! Other than that though food was great and the places ambiance was nothin special. My pesto parm was amazing... crispy chicken yummy vodka and perfect amount of cheese. Was pleasantly surprised to see noodles in it! I'd be interested in checking out the breakfast here since everyone else's review pics look soo good!

The breakfast sandwiches are bomb! Always a seriously great tasting sandwich for a reasonable price. The location near Ditmars had a really rude and aggressive guy working the front counter back in May 2024. He was screaming at the staff in the kitchen and cursing loudly behind the register. He then proceeded to be sarcastic when I didn't give him a tip for his disastrous counter service on my 12 dollar order. The guy who works at the other one on 30th & 14th is very chill though. Food is still on point.

We got the Jaclyn (fried eggplant seems to be freshly fried) and it was fantastic. It was better than Defonte's as a comparison, and I really appreciated the toasted sesame hero and the pesto. For $15, it was so affordable and the 2 of us shared one.

Amazing sandwich shop with fun, innovative options. I walked in and ordered the Jaclyn Hot sandwich to go. Such an amazing veggie sandwich! Filled with Fried Eggplant, Fresh Mozzarella, Roasted Red Peppers, Arugula, Pesto, Fig Balsamic Drizzle. I really like how they do it on a seeded semolina hero. The mix of pesto and fig was delicious. Tried the sticky tenders, they're a good classic chicken tender nothing crazy.

Honestly some of the best sandwich food out there. The Hal is my personal favorite - they put this garlicky mayo sauce (I guess aioli? Lol) that's to die for, then the texture from the salt and vinegar chips? Chef kiss* perfection! I look forward to exploring more of their menu!

Food is good, a little pricier than other sandwich spots. We ordered the lumberjack hero & a breakfast burrito, both were good. The Aioli's are really good, had the red pepper and the lime aioli they were delicious. Ordered the onion rings, tater tots and the french fries. The tots and the onion rings were phenomenal. Skip the fries, you'll get better ones at BK or Mickey D's, very disappointing. My order was for pick up, they said hello, got my name and handed me my bag, and was quick with it. I appreciated that. Cute place to get something to go. They have tables outside if you wanna have quick bite. I would come back to try the other sandwiches.

First time eating here. The breakfast burrito was on point, pretty damn big also. Onion rings are hand dipped, fried to perfection, the red pepper aioli is the sauce for them. Staff was super friendly and helpful. Definitely will be going back.

We found Compton's while driving by and reading reviews. We were excited to try it from the photos. I was craving good bread and wasn't disappointed. It took a while to decide but we went with the crispy fish BLT ($16) and little Italy ($12). Food took about 15 minutes. The little Italy had a nice cheese pull and gooey egg. I found the hot honey over powered the rest of the ingredients which was a shame since I love breakfast foods. The crispy BLT was indeed crispy and nice but I felt it lacked moisture. There was a little sauce between the veggies but could have used more on the bread. Overall great ingredients and would come back to try other sandwiches.

Came here early after walking the dog. We ordered a few sandwiches for breakfast and it took awhile to get our food. I guess this place is super popular for grubhub and seamless because their pos was just going off and announcing every order. The sandwiches were pretty good but quite pricey.

I DO NOT recommend this restaurant. I came in today with my two year old toddler. The "gentleman" behind the register had a very nasty attitude. He never greeted me, instead stood there rolling his eyes as he called out the numbers for the order before me. Two men came up to get their food they thanked him he never said "you're welcome" or smiled back. When I was ready to give my order my toddler ran over to the door, I was watching him. The waiter proceeded to say, "Someone needs to watch him." as I was giving my order he says, "I guess not." (Rolls his eyes again). My son gently touched the window of the door and he said, "I need to wipe that." After that last comment I placed the menu on the counter and walked out. Why would I want to spend my money in a place where the staff isn't professional, to say the least. If you're looking for a family orientated establishment I do not recommend dining here. I've lived in Astoria for over 30yrs and have never experienced such hostility in any establishment. The waiter seemed more concerned with a clean door than hospitality and having a welcoming attitude with paying customer. My only regret was not getting his name. I was there Friday, Aug. 25th at 1:30pm. If the owner happens to come across this review I hope you give this guy training on customer service skills or perhaps recommend he find a job he actually likes.

Food was great ! Great customer service . I got the grilled chicken burrata hero. Was made perfectly.

My husband Went in and ordered a one egg, bacon, and cheese sandwich with a hash brown. He specifically ordered it that way. When he gets home, there's a sauce on the sandwich that he didn't ask for. He goes back to tell them he didn't order a sauce, to which the cashier responds "you ordered a New Yorker, it comes with a sauce". Except, he didn't order the New Yorker. The New Yorker also comes with two eggs, he ordered one. Reluctantly and with attitude, she says they will make him another sandwich. He gets to his car and double checks, the egg is runny and liquid. He brings it back in and says to just refund his money. The cashier then said "reading is important". Unfortunately, what she doesn't understand is that she lacks listening comprehension. If I order a sandwich without using the hipster title on the menu, the next step would be to ask me if I specifically want the New Yorker since it is similar. I have been in the hospitality industry before and I know better than to assume what a customer might want. This is why sticking to mom & pop shops are the best option. Went down the block and got a REAL "New York" sandwich for 5 bucks. Word of advice: retrain your employees on common sense and customer service.

Driving here is ok, theres street parking and the location seems not to be too busy, I found parking in a couple of minutes, however it is a residential area so there is alternate side parking, so look out. At this time there is no inside sitting due to the current state of pandemic, but they have some outside sitting and they are ok, there is a lot of sun on u there but not terrible. You walk in and this is definitely a hipster style deli/ burger/breakfast place, they take cards and they have a lot of very artesian drinks. The menu is personalised and the names of the meals is pretty entertaining. The staff is ok, not overly friendly and not rude, they are fine. They take cards here. We walked in and made our order, we made our way out to the table and they brought our meals out to our table. BURRATA BURGER- I got this burger medium well, cause I dont like my burger to bleed. I think it was a BIG mistake ordering this. The brioche bun was pretty amazing, the burger was ok, the burrata, as expected was dripping all over the place and the TRUFFLE mayo was not at all tasting like truffle, so I assume they must put a dust of truffle so they can call it a truffle mayo. it does not taste like anything. it is a very flavourless sandwich. I got some fancy hipster drink, and I was ok, I dont remember what it was. Overall it was good to see the place and try, but I was not impressed.

love the interior design of the shop and the music they play. the menu is full of options for every type of sandwich lover! the fries were the best part for me as a fry lover. the food came out fresh and hot, which made me happy. I had the backyard burger and chicken philly sandwich, but I'll be back to try other sandwiches.

I tried Compton's for the first time today. Great flavor in the New Yorker breakfast sandwich (with sausage), with perfectly runny, fried eggs. I do think the sandwiches are about $2-3 too expensive, though. It's kind of sacrilegious for a BEC to cost $9.00. Not sure if I'll be back, but I'm glad I finally tried the place.

I stumbled upon this place after spending the morning at Randall's Island. It's a small space with outdoor seating. I went inside and ordered a medium rare burrata burger with tater tots. They brought my order out to me and I immediately dug in. The burger was cooked just to my liking, and the burrata on the burger was *chef's kiss* delicious. I've never had burrata on my burger before, but after this experience, I'm wondering why this isn't more common. The tater tots weren't anything fancy, but were classically good tator tots. I'd def recommend Compton's. I def plan to go back to try one of their sandwiches. The table sitting next to me was raving about the burrata on those too!

I hate to be dramatic but I was born and raised in NY and grew up on bacon, egg and cheese sandwhiches. Their NY'er is hands down the best I ever had.

No Christina's or Cherry Valley... meaning no flavored bread. There is a good variety of sandwiches, but I think I made the mistake of getting a Philly cheesesteak and expected a little more than what you would get from an philly cheesesteak in NY. But look forward to trying their other sandwiches in the future!
