Con Madre Cocina (Oltorf)

It was good food, right next to a gas station. I wanted just a simple breakfast burrito and was slightly disappointed but I definitely got my moneys worth! Also I’m vegetarian so that’s part of the reason I was a little disappointed, most of their dishes were meat-based which I understand is common for this kind of food truck, would recommend to my friends or anyone looking for a quick bite!

If you're looking for a food truck that sells a wide variety of Mexican food at a great price, a great selection of agua frescas, and shaded patio seating then Con Madre Kitchen is a spot you should consider! When I came I tried a few different items such as: - Pastor Tacos (3.5/5), Barbacoa Tacos (4/5), and Bistek Tacos (3.5/5). The barbacoa was my favorite because it was the most tender, rich, and flavorful of the three. What's also nice overall about these tacos is that they cost $2.89 each when you get them on corn. - Madre's Sautéed Shrimp Taco (4/5) & Madre's Chori-Queso Taco (4.25/5): in addition to traditional street style tacos, they have these two unique ones with one featuring grilled shrimp and the other featuring chorizo and melted cheese. These come on flour tortilla and cost $4.75 each. - Cheeseburger: wouldn't normally get a burger from a Mexican restaurant, but this was good as it had a bigger emphasis on the grilled onion. ($5.50) - 3.5/5 - Homemade Picadillo Nachos: they load the nachos up with beef, cheese, avocado, and jalapeños and this is not a bad appetizer to get if you're craving some nachos. ($13) - 3.25/5 - Madre's Frito Pie: their take on frito pie, but using Hispanic ingredients. ($8) - 3.25/5 - Agua Frescas: they have a great selection where you can get Horchata (sweet cinnamon & rice milk), Jamaica (sweet hibiscus punch), tamarindo (sweet & tangy tamarind juice) -, and limonada. You honestly can't go wrong with any of these! They all taste great. ($3.50/ea) - 4.25/5 With lots of food to choose from my suggestions would definitely be getting a barbacoa taco, a sautéed shrimp taco, and a chori-queso taco with any of the drinks! All in all, I had a good time here and would rate my experience a 3.75/5.

The breakfast tacos are so skimpy! They should state that they use bacon bits when ordering. This taco was almost 6 dollars. What a scam! It’s absolutely not worth that.

If I could give 0 Starz. Theses are you breakfast burritos for $17? I paid for two and got this, with no sauce. I've tried calling and your phone that's listed is disconnected. Horrible experience. Will never order here again and with this type of customer service, no one should ever.

Would not recommend for takeout/ door dash. Prices don't add up - door dash is $14 breakfast burrito, $16 lunch burrito (not prices they charge in person). Burger was delivered freezing cold, bread was complete soggy like it was refrigerated overnight. Bun and patty/cheese completely burned. It was honestly very gross and had to toss. :/ Tacos were also freezing and meat had solid chunks of fat since all the oil was cold/solid.

I feel scammed, this place is overpriced, you don’t get what you ordered, and the food is mediocre or just plain bad. My tacos callejeros (translates to street tacos) were stated as coming with queso fresco and avocado. Don’t believe the review that shows the tacos dressed up this way. One of my tacos didn’t even have any queso fresco and the other had only tiny bits of it. And they had guacamole on them instead of avocado. Their “home fried chips” are store bought baked chips which aren’t even fried and were stale. And the queso tastes worse than Velveeta and isn’t Mexican in any sense of the word. To top it off, they were very stingy with salsa. Couldn’t even bother to fill up the tiny one oz cup. This place is trashy. Not worth the price whatsoever. I want a refund.

I got two breakfast tacos delivered on Door Dash. I got the chorizo, egg, potato and cheese taco as well as the bean and cheese taco. DELISH. Their green salsa is spicy but so good and flavorful. I’m not usually a big fan of chorizo but had to try. I loved every bit of it! Will be ordering/visiting them again!

Always yummy..two more delicious tacos last night. 5 more stars..
