The Best Sonoran Hot Dogs in Phoenix, Arizona | Eater Phoenix

"Plenty of full-service restaurants in Phoenix tack on a Sonoran dog that costs more and tastes worse than the cart down the street. Condesa makes the case for an exception., This downtown Phoenix spot, formerly the food side of popular concert venue Crescent Ballroom’s kitchen, still does a killer Schreiner’s all-beef frank wrapped in peppered bacon, topped with refried beans, tomato, onions, and just enough heat. Good fries and chipotle aioli replace the usual corner-store chips. Bonus: You can order it with a mezcal cocktail in hand." - McConnell Quinn

This was a tough one. Everything was very good! If you go here for tacos you will not be disappointed! Go for lunch 3 tacos, chips/duros and a drink for $15. A little expensive but not outrageous. 5 Star - I don’t know if I’ve been to any restaurant where I loved all three salsas. The house tomatillo, chile de arbol, and salsa fresca were all excellent. None of them were really spicy but had hints of a kick. The salsa fresca was probably my favorite though. The chips and duros were well seasoned too! 4 Star - the shrimp , pastor, and asada were all very good. The shrimp were cooked perfectly cooked. The pastor had some char on them and the pineapple balanced the taco well. The asada was a little bland, and I would have enjoyed a little char, but still a good taco. The atmosphere was very laid back and comfortable. The staff were all very friendly and the service was fantastic. 3*** = Good but no separation from similar restaurants 4**** = Set themselves a part with quality food and I want to go back. 5*****= You have to go out of your way and make a special trip to try the deliciousness that is there!

Google
An amazing hidden gem. While in AZ for a conference, found this place. Amazing food, drinks, service, and the cutest restaurant I have ever been in. We had margaritas, cocktails (expertly crafted might I add), tacos, and the elote, all top notch. The chips and salsa were to die for. Beautiful decor, and such a great vibe. HIGHLY RECOMMEND

Michelle

Google
It’s a cute place and if I lived elsewhere I’d be more impressed, but we live in a city with tons of Mexican food. It was just ok. I didn’t particularly like the flavor of my street tacos - everything seemed to be very heavy with chipotle seasoning. My husband thought the barbacoa was excellent though. I don’t think we’ll be back as there wasn’t anything memorable about it.

Google
We had a great experience at La Condesa! The food was incredibly tasty and felt very authentic. I ordered the green chicken enchiladas with a side of elote, both were full of flavor and perfectly cooked. We also tried the carne asada bowl and the al pastor bowl, and they were both delicious and satisfying. For dessert, the concha bread pudding was a standout, warm, comforting, and not overly sweet. We also ordered the donuts, which come with a side of rich chocolate for dipping, such a fun and tasty treat! I was really looking forward to trying their cucumber water, but unfortunately they were all out, that was a bit disappointing. Still, everything else made up for it. Overall, the food was fresh, flavorful, and beautifully presented. Definitely a spot I’d recommend if you're craving elevated Mexican comfort food with great dessert options.

Google
Condesa is now my favorite Mexican restaurant. Ate here 3 days in a row after discovering their amazing happy hour. $4 tacos and $10 margaritas are hard to beat especially with this type of quality. I could eat the Al pastor everyday for the rest of my life. Burrito bowl with Al pastor is fire 🔥 ! Margaritas are great and really enjoyed my carajillo. Will definitely be back again and again :)

Google
Ali thank you for the great service and good time. We had a reservation for 7 and 1/2 of our party got stuck in a traffic then could not find any parking (recommend getting dropped off). We will be back! Asada Plate and Sonoran dog and the green salsa were great.

Google
Beautiful restaurant with friendly staff, amazing food and drinks. I’ve been a fan of their food since the Valley Bar and Crescent Ballroom days. They never miss with their atmosphere and music either. 10/10

Google
Food was excellent and tasted authentic! I appreciated that the salsas seemed fresh and actually had spice (and not sweet!!) The classic margarita was perfect ratios and used real lime juice. The bean dip was not overwhelming or oily yet it had a great flavor. The tacos are a generous size and the tortillas are fresh (very important!). It's surprisingly challenging to find places like this that actually use fresh ingredients without skimping on flavor, or just relying on a nice atmosphere while having flavorless/terrible food. This one seems to balance it all so I'm impressed. Our server was very kind and pleasant, and we loved the atmosphere. Looking forward to returning.

Yelp
Vegan review: One of the treats of working downtown north of Van Buren was eating lunch at Cocina 10 at the Crescent Ballroom. Covid put a kink in that - no more lunch service. And then I stopped working downtown daily. Fast forward to 2025, and I'm selected to serve on a grand jury all summer, for $12 a day (plus mileage), 2X a week for four months. Yep. My reality became "where can I go to lunch south of Van Buren, for less than $12 (my daily wage). Amazingly, Condesa delivered! Their $10 lunch specials, including a beverage, chips and soda, are the best buy in downtown! During my adventures in civil service, I was able to make it to Condesa several times. The chips and salsa are as good, if not better, than my memories of Cocina 10. The burritos seem a bit different - may a different flavor to the beans? - but are still delicious. They are slightly grilled, giving the quality tortilla a bit of a crunch. The vegan cheese is unfortunately not an option for the lunch special, but it's worth it for an extra dollar or two. I also had the Cocina 10 ensalada (made vegan) and vegan jackf fruit tacos during my term of service. All good, but the tacos were spicier than expected. The location is an easy walk from either end of downtown, and service is friendly and fast. The dining area is quiet and cool, which was a great help for summers downtown. I never tried to park since I was already down there, but I can imagine that being a problem given the location. But if you are in the downtown area already, and want a high quality, tasty and affordable lunch (or dinner) with vegan options, Condesa is your place!

Yelp
This spot was such a hidden one till now while I keep eating around this place all the time. Finally discovered this through a friend for a team lunch. I couldn't snap much pictures since it was a business team meeting. Overall I would highly recommend this place for the quality of food you get here and at a very reasonably priced for a quality restaurant. Here are my takes: Food/Drinks: Tried a few appetizers on the table to share. As my entree, I got chicken enchiladas. Everything was so delicious here. Good quality food as well. Service: Staff was superb during my visit. They were so friendly. Checked in me multiple times. Interacted with 3 of the staff so can say it should be their restaurant ethics for sure and can assure a great experience during your visit. Ambiance: Ambiance is the first impression you would love this place about. Everything looks classy and very artistics as well. This has a great vibe overall. Hygiene: One of the most cleaned restaurant you can even go to. No complaint during my visit. Everything (table, cutleries, dishes) was clean slate like anything. Price: For the experience they offer and the quality of food that you can feel difference, their menu items are very reasonably priced. If this place was near my home, this may have been my to go place.

Yelp
Nice vibe and warm, friendly servers. I appreciate that they stay open late and have clearly labeled vegan items. That said, the vegan options are limited (mostly veggies or beans with vegan cheese, no jackfruit or plant-based proteins on the menu we received), and the food leans spicy. The guac w/ chips was super fresh but pricey at $16, and as a gluten-free vegan I found choices limited since they don't offer GF tortillas (only GF corn for the tacos). Condesa might work if you're looking for a calming late night meal, but won't be back since it didn't meet our needs for variety or value. Glad we gave it a go! 090925

Yelp
These nachos were LOADED!! My friends and I got the vegan nachos, and we're not expecting them to be so large - but we loved the proportion especially for the price! The interior is so cute and even though it looks small on the outside, there was a lot of space on the inside for seating. Perfect place to come to for date night, and it's right next to a lot of the bars I go to in downtown

Yelp
I've been meaning to check this place out since they moved from Crescent bBallroom and into this place where Liars Club used to be. It's also in the same building as Valley Bar and you're able to get some of the food from here while at Valley Bar. I love when they bring you free chips and salsa for the table and here the chips were all fresh and all 3 kinds of salsa were really delicious and unique. We also got the guacamole and it was really good. I had the al pastor burrito and loved it. It was seared on the outside give it a nice crunch, and the actual flavor of everything in the burrito really hit the spot. On top of everything the service was excellent and all the food came out really quickly. This is a great place to stop in for some really good food or even just a drink when downtown.

Yelp
They first start you off with free chips and salsa which were delicious. All green, red, and like a mild habanero. As for the main dishes: Chicken enchiladas-5/5- even though these enchiladas were not that big, the flavor of chicken with cheese topped with creama were perfectly seasoned. Tacos- 4/5- enjoyed the fresh corn made tortilla, but the el pastor meat could've been cooked more for a little charred flavor. Feels as though the meat were sitting in a warmer before getting served, but it was still good. Elote-3/5- the corn was good, but there was too much liquid/water (maybe a one off) in the bowl before you mix the corn season/cheese together. Service- 5/5: I forget our server name, but she was attentive and friendly

Yelp
As soon as you step inside you're welcomed with a greenery of very well taken care of pothos plants. I came by for a late night bite on a Thursday night and I would have completely forgotten I was in downtown Phoenix except for the booming bass from a nearby club, not their fault so no stars lost. To drink, I had the Casa Blanca margarita which was refreshing blend of citrus and sweet. To eat, I had the Asada Plate and the arrachera was the best I can remember having. It was marinated with great flavor and very tender! The beans and rice were cooked with spices that complimented the beef perfectly. The flour tortillas were fresh and delicious, I wish I could purchase them in bulk! My partner had the Sonoran Dog and two tacos: jackfruit Al pastor and apson. I had some of his papas fritas and they were the BEST! We sat at the bar and the service was welcoming and attentive. I feel like it was good value for the quality of food, service and atmosphere. I hope I can get back here soon!

Yelp
Stayed in Downtown Phoenix (March 23,2025) tried a small little place called Condesa and was pleasantly surprised. Cool and vibey Mexican restaurant with trendy decor and very clean!! SERVICE: We were seated immediately. Alec helped us this evening and was very friendly and attentive. (Yay Alec!!) FOOD: We tried lots of tacos! Carne Asada, Al Pastor, Shrimp, and Jackfruit Al Pastor. All of them were super tasty!! Also tried the street corn, very good, but very spicy. This place rocked it tonight! Go give them a try if you are staying downtown.

Yelp
Food was great & service was even greater. The attention to detail inside the restaurant is perfect, it makes for a very chill, classy and intimate setting. Definitely will be back!

Yelp
Another great Mexican food option in downtown Phoenix. Ambiance was dark and moody but still inviting. Service was great. The chips tasted fresh. The salsas were full of flavor. The guacamole was still as memorable as it has been when Condesa was at Crescent Ballroom. The enchiladas were tasty. A wonderful addition to the area.

Yelp
I love crescent ballroom so this is automatically 5 stars. I am biased. I have been eating this food for a long time. Service is always great. I love the veggie and vegan menu. Order the papas with jalapeño creama also! Try the agua Fresca with lime juice and simple syrup added for alcohol free drinks. They also have a zero proof non alcoholic drink menu with zero proof tequila. Try the tacos apson veggie, or the jackfruit al pastor taco. Amazing food. Chips and salsa is really really good, I'm addicted to the red. The chips and salsa should be free sad face, but they're $6. It's worth it I guess. There's a lot of things I like here because the flavors are authentic even if it's Americanized, it's very fresh food too. The flavors are always there for me. I do have something negative to say tho #1I tried the flour tortillas for the first time and I'd definitely get corn next time. I think I usually get corn. They're soft corn so it's good. I don't think at crescent I was ever given an option. #2 the tacos were just a bit drippy with juices. Not oily, but juicy. Maybe from the vegetables on my taco or the melted cheese idk. Juicy plate. #3 my boyfriend said the jackfruit al pastor was really spicy this time. I tried it too and I agree. Very spicy today.

Yelp
My fiance and I were in search of a happy hour spot before the Suns game and stumbled upon Condesa. They have a great happy hour menu from 2-6pm Tuesday-Friday. This spot is a cute little hole in the wall and has ample indoor, bar and patio seating. The ambiance is very chill and welcoming. We were promptly seated and placed our drink order, a classic and jalapeño margarita from the happy hour menu. We were brought complementary chips and salsa as well, which was interesting since they had chips and salsa on their appetizer menu. Word of caution though, we were charge $6 for extra salsa and didn't know about the up-charge until we paid. The margaritas were refreshing and the jalapeño one had the perfect, subtle heat. They also had well drinks on the happy hour menu, so my fiance switched to a vodka pineapple while I stuck with another jalapeño margarita. Our tacos were packed with deliciousness and were definitely filling for $4 each. The veggie was my favorite, the vegetables had a nice char that amplified the umami flavor. The jackfruit was good too, but I've had better at other taco spots. My fiance enjoyed his tacos, the pollo asado was his favorite. When we paid, they didn't show us our tab until we already paid and asked for a printed receipt. I'm glad I did as only one of our items was at the happy hour price. The waitress adjusted the amount, but it's unfortunate they didn't catch it until I said something. This is definitely a cute spot for happy hour, I'd go back if in town again.

Yelp
I'm visiting Phoenix for a week and wanted to have some good Mexican food. I looked for the highest rated restaurant near our hotel and Condesa came up. It deserves all 5 stars! The ambiance is very nice! Tons of plants, lots of cool art, a beautiful mural, comfortable seating inside and outside, and nice lighting. My husband and I came here for lunch. The waitress was wonderful! So energetic, friendly, fun, knowledgeable, attentive... I can't say enough good things about her. I ordered the elotes to start. Then I ordered the chicken asada taco, the al pastor taco, and the jack fruit taco. The tacos come with homemade corn or flour tortillas. We had corn. My husband ordered the same as me, except he had a shrimp taco instead of the jackfruit. The waitress brought out some chips and 3 different kinds of salsas. The sauces were all FIRE! But our favorite was the roasted tomatoes salsa. The elites were pretty good. My favorite taco was the chicken asada. I could've ordered three of those. Maybe it was the chips and Elote, but I was too full to eat my jackfruit taco. So I took it home. My husband loved all 3 of his tacos. He also ordered a bottle of sparkling water. Altogether our bill was $48 before tip. I would definitely go back. They had a happy hour starting at 2, and we were leaving at 2, so we missed it. A lot of the cocktails looked really good! I'd love to go back later for drinks.

Yelp
My social media lit up the past two weeks about this place do had to give it a try. Living in Phoenix we have a lot of Mexican places to eat. But downtown phx does not so i was happy to see a place open up. My husband and i got there when they opened and sat outside which was nice. I walked inside and was impressed with the place it has a upscale atmosphere but with a laid back vibe. I had the Agua Fresca which was delicious. We started with chips and salsa I ordered the chicken enchiladas (it come with black beans but sub refried beans) hubby got the Breakfast Burrito enchilada style. Both were excellent the burrito was huge and the enchilada Sauce was home made and had the right amount of kick. My enchiladas were excellent. Two things, wish there were other breakfast items on the menu and also wish for Horchata on the menu. We will definitely be back

Yelp
I'll start by saying that I love that this restaurant is woman owned and operated! Being a long time customer of Crescent Ballroom, I was sad to learn of the change but was very excited to check out the new place. The parking situation in downtown is abismal, so when I saw where Condessa was located I already knew I was going to spend a good time looking for where to park, which already makes it a less desirable choice for me personally - last night (Thursday) @8p was no exception and I ended up having to park about 3 blocks away. The restaurant itself is where the Liar's Club used to be and has a minimalist vibe with lots of pretty plants. We came in and there were about 4-5 tables occupied, so even though we didn't have a reservation we were taken right in. We got greeted by a really nice waitress and everyone we encountered was knowledgeable and kind. I was pleasantly surprised when they brought us out free chips with the 3 salsas we used to get at Crescent (my favorite is def the green!). While we munched on our chips, we got our drinks. I was disappointed to see that their sangria was no longer a part of the menu, as it was the best sangria in town. I can't remember the name of what I ordered (edited to add: it was the blue agave) but it was recommended to me when I couldn't find anything that appealed to me and our waitress offered to change it if I didn't like it, which I thought was really nice offer. By the time we had nearly finished our second round of chips, I looked around and saw we were now one of 3 tables but our appetizer (corn salad) and our meals (4 chicken taco apsons) were nowhere to be found. I didn't check the time but it felt weirdly long, especially with so few patrons dining. The food finally came out and I was so excited to dig in. We would usually get the elote at CB, so we opted to try the corn salad as our "something new". I am not sure if the vinaigrette that was mentioned on the menu was missing, or if it was just meant to be light but the salad felt dry, albeit with lots of potential. We ended up adding some lime and green salsa for moisture and that seemed to give the flavors a bit of the pop that I was expecting but still left me feeling like something was missing from the dish. The tacos were really tasty, and I love that the tortillas are still freshly made, but I think I was expecting them to be the same as CB and yet there was something different about them (possibly the micro greens, I don't remember those being there before). All in all, I left feeling a bit sad and unsatisfied as I walked the few blocks back to my car, but I'm guessing it's because I loved the food at CB so much and was hoping the experience would be familiar to what I was used to before. I will say though, the staff was all very nice and towards the end of the night we were told my drink was on the house, which was very unexpected but I greatly appreciated the gesture. We will be back to give it another try soon :) Update: about a week later I happened to look at the receipt and my drink was charged after all.

Yelp
Came for a lunch meeting as we often do and this was a place I've been wanting to try so what better way then when the boss has to pay! Started with some chips and salsa which all were very flavorful. Perfectly sweet verde, great smokey fire roasted, and high flavor and heat on the red salsa. One of us got the carne asada bowl the other barbacoa bowl. Both very delicious and flavorful though the beans and rice were not top level. Barbacoa though was some of the best I've had - Smokey/Savory and a hint of sweet from that banana leaf action they got going on! Considering the renovation the did on this place from the prior space it's a welcome addition to downtown and I'm excited to come back when I'm off the clock for some drinks. Also really great prices and portions

Bonnie M.

Yelp
Great food. Good prices. Nice employees. Pleasant atmosphere. Server came around plenty enough for wants and refills.

Yelp
Love the spot loved when it was part of crescent ballroom as well. Happy to have it closer to Valley bar though! The nachos are definitely my favorite but they are huge. I actually haven't tried anything else because they're so big and they fill me up! But dang are they tasty! Margaritas are delicious and they have a good beer selection as well and a nice big bar area! would recommend!

Donn O.

Yelp
Overall a good experience. Presented with a small bowl of chips and three types of salsa of different heat levels. The mild was amazing. The chip were not very salty and seem all that fresh. No salt or pepper at the tables. The entree was very attractive and tasted great! The burrito bowl was served on a plate of potato's/fries and was served hot. The pico that came with the dish was crazy good! I would return.
google avatar

Cathy O.

Yelp
The food was attractive and served relatively quickly. The servers were attentive, friendly and helpful. The restaurant is cute and colorful with a tiny street side patio. My tacos were terrific and my husband's bowl disappeared fast- he liked it a lot!
google avatar

Viviana M.

Yelp
Food was delicious especially the homemade corn tortillas. Service was amazing and they were very attentive as we were celebrating a friend's birthday. My only complaint is the website said "validated parking" which was listed in the Yelp website under Condesa's address. They DO NOT offer validated parking. Those words should be omitted on the website. Would have parked at a meter instead of parking at a garage which I had to pay.
google avatar

Laz C.

Yelp
If you were a fan of Cocina 10, this is their new digs! Almost same menu, they added some new items. Much more dining area and nice looking bar. The staff is always welcoming and will take great care of you! They have Vegan and Gluten Free options. Can't wait to come back!

Yelp
I'm so disappointed with Condesa. The food that used to be at Crescent Ballroom was legendary simple, delicious, and affordable. Now that it's moved here, it's completely lost the magic. The iconic bean and cheese burrito that used to come wrapped in foil with the little Mr. Bean sticker (such a fun touch!) is gone. Now it's just a plain burrito on a plate. The incredible salsas in squeeze bottles that everyone loved? Those are extra now. You can't even just order salsa on its own you have to buy chips with it. At Crescent Ballroom, you could grab an awesome $7 burrito with chips and salsa and feel like you scored the best deal in town. At Condesa, the same thing will run you nearly triple, and it's nowhere near the same experience. To make things worse, the bar service was rough. The girl behind the bar clearly didn't know how to make even basic drinks. It doesn't have the same energy or vibe that made Crescent so fun and welcoming, it just feels flat. It breaks my heart to say this because Crescent Ballroom's food made that place iconic, it was a spot everyone knew about, loved, and brought friends to. Condesa just doesn't live up to it. Please, bring the food back to Crescent Ballroom where it belongs.
google avatar

Alex L.

Yelp
Excited to have a new spot for lunch next to my work! This is the same as Crescent Ballroom and have expanded into their own separate restaurant. The Sonoran dog was a really good deal that comes with fries and aioli. When you dine in you also get chips and 3 salsas that are delicious! Cant wait to go back and try more items.
google avatar

Michael S.

Yelp
Nyah was an excellent server who checked on us often, always with a friendly attitude. However, the high-top chairs are horrendous: almost impossible to get in and out of and super uncomfortable. Meanwhile, several low-tops were open for over an hour and a half but were supposedly 'reserved'. The food was incredible, though. Fresh corn tortillas, lean cuts of tender carne asada, savory rice and beans, and the salsas are sublime. Highly recommend!
google avatar

Mary S.

Yelp
This place had such a warm vibe. We really enjoyed the decor and the food was reasonably priced for this area.
google avatar

Yelp
Wow, this place is amazing! An all FEMALE chef team, amazing menu items, a beautiful interior, and a crafted drink menu? So so great. I loved the staff, everyone was so incredibly friendly and eager to see us. The plants all around the space were beautiful and healthy which I feel like says a lot. The food was incredible as well. My only downside was we sat underneath a speaker and the music (for us) was a little loud. Other than that I'd highly recommend checking out Condesa!
google avatar

Sophia L.

Yelp
This was a quick walk from our hotel so we gave it a shot and glad we did! The outdoor seating is such a cute little aesthetically pleasing area. We opted for the bar bc June in PHX and the bartender was super chill. Lots of vegetarian/vegan options which is always amazing to see. My friend and I shared a couple different items and they were all delicious. The nachos were simple but so good I couldn't stop eating them.
google avatar

Abner H.

Yelp
Wow wow wow! It is not often a restaurant rebrands or "moves" and actually IMPROVES! We have always been fans of Cocina 10 and when we heard of Condesa we grew worried it would change too much! But man were we impressed! 10/10 on execution and consistency, beautiful ambience, and such friendly service! Congratulations!

Yelp
My husband and I eat here at least once a week. Love it. Ask for a side of the chimchurri. It's delish with everything!

Yelp
I was attending a conference in the area. I visited here on the first night and the last night before the conference concluded. It is a classic Mexican restaurant. Would come back again when I visit the area.

Yelp
This is our new favorite restaurant in Phoenix, the first choice for my 20yo daughter and I when we're out to eat. The home-style Mexican fare is all delicious. Although I've tried several different menu items, my favorite now is to get a burrito enchilada-style with both red and green sauces. The service is outstanding. In particular, my daughter and I enjoy have MJ wait on our table. She's smart, funny, knowledgeable about the menu choices, and we look forward to seeing her. That's why we're regulars at Condesa and intend to stay that way. Don't eat too many of the chips and salsa. They're good, but you'll be better off leaving room for the bread pudding dessert or Churo donuts.
google avatar

Sahar S.

Yelp
I was a faithful customer when they were at Crescent ballroom. I love the ambience of the new restaurant and familiar flavors. I miss how generous you guys were with the salsa in addition to the portions. The nachos are my favorite, it's hard to find good vegan nachos. They're so good that my non-vegan friends love and order them too!
google avatar

Yelp
Al pastor burrito was absolutely fire! The pork was tender and flavorful and the portion of the burrito was perfect and the spice was on point too. Will be ordering this again.

Yelp
Great drinks. The nachos were very tasty. Music selection was very relaxing. I had the michelada and it was very good.

Yelp
One of the best meals I've had in a while. If you are in the area I highly recommend. Service was excellent as well. You can't go wrong with Condesa.

Yelp
I was only in here for a second but this place is awesome. It has the best ambience of any place I've ever been too. The workers are all very nice and helpful. The food is very delicious. It's a must go if you are in the area.

Yelp
Delicious, flavorful, authentic Mexican food with friendly, efficient service. We loved it! We were on our way to another restaurant and were attracted to this restaurant by their patio. We had some amazing margaritas and tacos. It's out of the way for us but we'll definitely be back for more. Their corn salad was outstanding as well. Their elote left us a little underwhelmed in comparison to the corn salad.

Yelp
Holy!! What a great place! Everything we had was brilliant. First round of salsa is free and they give you 3 which was awesome. For dessert we got the chimis de fresa and my mind is blown. Great service too! Will be back.

Yelp
The green chicken and cheese enchiladas are delicious. Also they serve complimentary chips and 3 salsas! The salsa Fresca is the best. My server Ali was the best! This place is female owned and staffed!!!! Yep

Yelp
Bartender nice. Chips n salsa good. Al Pastor and shrimp tacos were nothing that stood out. Cool place.

Yelp
Went here based on reviews and were quite disappointed. The service was the main sticking point. They were not crowded yet we waited more than an hour for street tacos....same problem with drinks, only got two drinks in 1.5 hours despite wanting much more :). Of our three orders they got two of them working and didn't bring one of our appetizers out at all. The salsas were good, the corn salad was tasteless, and the bean drop was cold and congealed. The tacos were good (although it the ones we ordered) and the pollo bowl was good. Prices were reasonable. Maybe we just hit them on a bad night, but it was was a bit rough across the board.

Yelp
A great addition to downtown. All three salsas are excellent, you will find yourself eating all three with the chips; the chips themselves are fine but forgettable. I had the al pastor taco and the shrimp taco. The flavor profile of the al pastor is extremely good. It doesn't have the char of trompo, but going to Condesa is a lot cheaper than buying a plane flight to Austin. The shrimp taco was great as well. Everything was perfectly prepared and garnished. Combined with a great atmosphere, Condesa is a must go.

Yelp
Visited last night with my husband & daughter. Place is very cute with hanging plants, & interesting wallpaper. The patio area looked inviting but it was too hot to sit outdoors when we visited. We enjoyed 3 different margaritas - original, jalepeno & strawberry. For dinner, my husband had the chicken enchiladas, I had tacos and our daughter had the veggie burrito. All served hot and quickly. First round of chips & salsa is complimentary and then $6. Thought the bill was a bit high, but maybe that's just downtown pricing & current economy.

Yelp
Second time here for happy hour and it exceeded the high experience we had the first time. The HH jalapeño margarita is amazing as is their generously packed $4 tacos. Try the Apson with carne asade; amazing. But then again the Al Pastor is a perfect balance of sweet and spice. You can't go wrong, unless you miss happy hour. Oh and eat the garnish.

Yelp
I hate to be the contrarian here, but I don't think this place has good food. I've come in twice and both times I ordered take out. I sat at the bar and had a drink each time while I waited. This is a great place to hang out... it's a warm atmosphere with interesting, colorful decor and the staff is very cool. The bartender that helped me each time was super nice and very fast. No complaints at all with the service. The drinks are good too! I don't remember the names, but I've had two different cocktails and both were very good (if you're charging $16 per drink, like a lot of places do, they should be very good and these met the mark). Unfortunately the food sucks. It lacks flavor. I've had the chicken enchiladas, the bean and cheese burrito, the carne asada burrito, the asada and shrimp tacos and the fries. Out of everything, the fries are the only thing I'd order again - they're thick cut and come with a tasty crema to dip. Everything else was so bland and plain. Only the burrito I ordered came with salsa and it was fine, but not great. It didn't add much spice, either. Cool place but I'd only stop by for drinks, maybe apps.

Yelp
The food was fantastic! Smaller portions, but this allows you to try a lot of different items!
