Confections by Kirari West

I like small businesses and like to support them. I ordered a cappuccino and a red velvet pastry. The cappuccino was good. The red velvet pastry was okay but too sweet for my taste. All in all a cute place and there are tables inside and outdoors.

As a person with gluten intolerance, it’s so hard to find a bakery that makes things I can eat, let alone one that makes gluten free baked goods well. This place does both amazingly well!! Can’t recommend enough! The drip coffee wasn’t fantastic, but we weren’t there for the coffee. The donuts far outweigh the coffee! 😄

Literally, the best gluten free chocolate chip cookie I have ever had. Thick, chewy and delicious. I have not had a gluten free cookie yet that has been able to replicate this texture. I am so excited this place exists in my neighborhood. We had two donuts as well. Yummy but not quite a typical donut consistency. However, we still enjoyed them. We are huge fans of Kirari and their new shop is definitely an added bonus!

Amazing allergen-free sweets! Must try the baked Blueberry donuts! Reasonably priced given the quality of ingredients.

I can't believe I had not noticed Kirari West's Confections shop diagonal from Kirari West! We arrived right as they opened at 10am They've been there for 8 months (as of Mar 2023) and have a cookie, waffle, and some ice cream assortments, all GF with many nut free options. I hope this shop does well, so far cookies and waffle are good and expected quality from this favorite bake shop. They now have GF pizzas made to order, and they can be made with vegan cheese!

Strawberry gluten free baked donut and the strawberry milk are our favorites … infused with fresh strawberries and lighter … you won’t feel as guilty! My new favorite place for sweet treats.

I am not gluten intolerant but my mom is allergic to wheat so we frequent confections when she's craving pancakes. I usually don't like gluten free food but I have NO complaints at all about the pancakes, pizza, or sandwiches. All of them are delicious and made fresh to order, you can even add blueberries or chocolate to your pancakes, I recommend the blueberries. The staff is pretty nice and their rewards point system adds up pretty quickly.

everything is of good quality here, which comes as no surprise for a kirari location. i'm so grateful that it fills in some of the blanks for GF options in the south bay that the kirari in the same location isn't able to provide. however, i do wish it stuck to what made it unique a little more; their waffles were my absolute favorite menu item (the veggie egg melt and apple butterscotch were to die for). now, however, waffles are replaced instead by a lot of menu items brought over from the portland location (high-quality items i'm sure, but bowls and smoothies aren't as rare for GF ppl to be able to find; it was nice to have an option that felt really hard to find elsewhere. the closest place i can think of with celiac-safe waffles is near san luis obispo), and they also have a few items from kirari just across the way. they still have their pancakes, but is it possible they've gotten even bigger over the years? they're quite yummy, but so giant that i probably wouldn't order again unless i planned on sharing with at least one other person. especially as a vegetarian, i would prefer kirari across the way instead of this one if going for breakfast, but confections still has a lot of my favorites: i love the cookies (lemon, butterscotch miso, and red velvet especially); their pizza is amazing; and their drinks are yummy too! haven't tried the jackfruit sandwich here, but i did at their other location and was quite impressed. all in all, i think very highly of this establishment; it just makes me a little disappointed that i once had even more love for it

I found it interesting that Kirari West had two of their outlets located literally super close one to another. Indeed what's served was pretty different, but standing in front of one would let you see another LOL. Good thing for me it meant I could visit both at the same time. Confections by Kirari West came as solutions for those seeking for gluten-free treats and they did accept big-batch orders as well. They're seemed to be known for their cookies and doughnuts, and it's great that they occasionally offered different samples to try. I went for their Matcha and Butterscotch Miso as the prior was said to be one of the favorite while the latter was just me being biased to any sweet treats featuring miso per my experience they mostly turned out impressive. I wasn't on gluten-free diet, but I was just intrigued to give it a try. Hence disclaimer, my comparison prolly wasn't apple-to-apple, but yeah I would doubtlessly still compared it to any other cookie. TBH the texture prolly wasn't my favorite as it's more cakey than gooey. The Matcha one had quite bold flavor, but I could barely taste the miso in the Butterscotch Miso. I had both for to-go, but they did provide dine-in space and even offered freshly-made-to-order dishes. If I would ever come back, prolly those were the ones I would try.

They offer both desserts and smoothies/juices. Service was quick and friendly, The drinks are made to order and have a great menu of ingredients. The desserts were beautiful -- especially the donuts. They begin at $4.50 a donut. While they have options for soy-free, nut-free, gluten free, I would love to see some more dairy-free options too! They have 2 tables outside for seating. Their desserts may be on the pricey side, but based on the blueberry lemon donut, it is worth it.

Great breakfast spot. Love their fluffy pancakes. Matcha latte was so good. I'm a Matcha lover, so I order a lot of Matcha everything. Such a cute place and good service.

Food was very good. Space was not what I expected. It's located in a plaza, so plenty of parking available. There are only a few tables - some inside and some outside. We opted to eat there, food came out in paper plates. Not quite a "full service" experience but that's fine. Staff was friendly. Got a veggie waffle egg melt (not pictured), apple donut (not pictured) and a bakers breakfast plate with blueberry pancakes, eggs and bacon. Cold brew coffee was also good!

Confections by Kirari West has a variety of drinks, food, and sweets to offer. They had several samples of their baked goods to try! The only thing I tried so far was the matcha white chocolate chip cookie. And wow it was the best matcha cookie I've ever had. The cookie had a strong matcha flavor and there were white chocolate chips in every bite. Yum!

nice little cafe situated in a small plaza, inside is small but cozy. I have tried the matcha cookie and miso cookie and the matcha one was really good while the miso one wasn't great. their strawberry matcha latte is to die for though!!! it's perfectly sweet and I love the real strawberry purée at the bottom. service is okay, the folks who work there aren't very personable in my experience but it's okay, I don't usually sit down in there.

I've been here are few times for there sweets treats and although good, my favorite here would be the turkey avocado panini! It's comes toasted, with a good amount of turkey and it's soft at the same time just delicious. I also tried their matcha it was decent, had mine with almond milk so it tasted pretty creamy.

Confections by Kiari West should've been named Confections by Kiari Across the other side of the parking lot.  It's sister shop is just across the way but unlike Confections by Kiari West which specializes in cookies they do pastries and sandwiches. I came to Confections by Kiari West in search of the perfect Oatmeal Raisin Cookie. I just had one of those cravings. With an itch that's gotta be scratched, I walked into this cookie shop and got myself 1 oatmeal raisin cookie. Why just 1 cookie? Well, at 4 bucks a cookie I could only buy one without breaking my piggy bank. How did such working class cookie get so dang bougie expensive? The cookie was good. The right amount of chewiness but a little light on the raisins and a tad too sweet.  Nothing made it worth 4 bucks, though. My search goes on.  Next time? Yeah I'll go back after I save my pennies and buy one of their chocolate cookies.

I've always wanted to try this as it's the breakfast and lunch venue of the nearby Kirari West bakery. The menu is fun and not too challenging with more traditional American or French styled choices. The angle is the gluten free options but the taste to me is an only a bit lighter and my kid definitely couldn't tell. The interior is beautifully set with a clean modern beach vibe. The people at the service counter are perfectly nice. I would call this more of a casual family setting or a grab and go spot. It has some cheaper items in addition to the waffles and pizza which makes it pretty handy for a pit stop.

Chain me to the wall, I think I'm in love.. with their donuts. Best gf donuts I've ever had. And I've tried A LOT of gf donuts. My favorite is the vanilla sprinkle. Their cookies are delicious but my go tos at this spot are the California waffle sandwhich and their strawberry matcha A little slow on the service wait time but worth it and the service is always friendly.

Love Love Love I just love this place. I will come here to buy desserts to take with me to places that cannot accommodate my being GF. I had breakfast at the sister restaurant in the same plaza and I ordered lunch from this place. It's such a joy to be able to look at the menu and order anything off of it The service was great. The place was so cute. And the food is amazing.

For my husband's birthday every year, I organize a chocolate tour. This year, we started our tour here with the chocolate chip pancakes. As this is our 10th annual chocolate tour, we've sampled quite a few chocolate chip pancakes over the years. My husband and I both agreed that these are our favorite so far! They are the perfect combo of crispy and fluffy, flavorful without being overly sweet, and the right ratio of chips to pancake. One of my favorite parts of our tradition is discovering new places and I'm so happy we found this place! We will definitely be back!

4 stars for food, down from 5 - This used to be my go-to place, even for friends and family who aren't gluten free. However, they recently changed their menu at this wonderful place, and I'm really sad they no longer have waffles, which were my absolute favorite!!! Also really missing the homemade chicken sausage, and the ice cream options! Eating a GF cookie sundae here was such an amazing treat for my family. They probably did this because they weren't reaching their sales goals with these items, and I get businesses need to cater to what most people will buy. It was cool that this was more a dessert place than their other restaurant. And I loved the breakfast options that are no longer there. 2-3 stars for service - There's a guy who works there regularly who's super grumpy and unfriendly. I almost don't like going here anymore because of him. He was a bit rude to his cashier recently, too. She looked new, and I felt bad for her. The ladies who work there are much friendlier. I want to give a 5 because I really appreciate how amazing it is to have awesome GF food available for those of us who can't have gluten. I just think a few changes could bring back my enthusiasm again.

The pizza is delish! Totally worth it. Not super pizza like us gluten free folks are used to and with ACTUAL crust.

Everything was delicious: blueberry pancakes, scrambled eggs, and latte. There's ample parking, the line was short, and their gluten free bread store is a few stores over.

Really impressed with the menu and the food here. I love that they can cater the menu to me as well for some of the breakfast items. Love that everything here is gluten free. Definitely coming back here again.

The good: This is my confession: I like confections. I got 6 cookies delivered from here for my birthday. What a treat they were! I am normally not a huge cookie fan compared with cake but my family and I devoured these in a day. I tried the lemon poppyseed, oatmeal raisin, chocolate chip, confetti (birthday cake?), matcha and chocolate. My favorites were the lemon poppyseed and oatmeal raisin. I liked the variety of flavor options and the packaging. This is a great option for potlucks or gifts. They sit well overnight and are great heated up in the microwave. I'd like to try the banana dark chocolate cookie next time. The bad: I would've enjoyed them more if they were just a tad chewier. The interesting: They also sell teas, ice creams and waffles. The name sounds like some kind of clothing line collaboration doesn't it?

Overpriced & subpar pastries, go literally anywhere else. They'll have better bread and desserts.

Absolutely yum! Have some favorites here at this tasty cookie shop. Just a couple things I wish they'd do a tad differently. After 3 visits, now most of the tasty treats here have gone into my tummy at one point or another. Big fan of the Belgian Dark Chocolate Chunk with Walnuts. Also very much like the Butterscotch Miso and the Oatmeal & Run Raisin. Cannot get past the taste and texture of the vegan cookies. No matter what you dress it up as, they're using margarine. Cute little tables inside and out. Inside tables (seating) are actually very comfy! No restroom. TL/dr: Nearly perfect fancy biggish cookies.

Placed a decent sized order today. The customer service was exceptional! Cookies are some of the best I've ever tasted (butterscotch miso ftw!). The individual packaging was beautiful wrapped with a label of the flavor and an oxy guard to keep it fresh.

Wow! They have totally cracked the code on gluten-free cookies! My wife is not able to eat gluten, so she is always on the lookout for alternatives to favorite foods that would otherwise contain gluten. I, on the other hand, can and do eat gluten and just about anything else. When we find a gluten-free option that impresses me to the point that I would have never guessed it was gluten-free, it is pretty remarkable! The cookies at Confections by Kirari West were fantastic. They were moist and delicious, and I could never have guessed they were gluten-free. My wife was equally impressed, to the point that I suspect she was worried they didn't really meet her dietary needs (but they did!). When we stopped in the girl behind the counter was super nice and friendly. I controlled my temptation by only getting three cookies. They were all absolutely incredible. Whether or not you are able to eat gluten, you should stop by and try their cookies. If you can't eat gluten, you'll be thrilled at how amazing the cookies are. And if you can eat gluten, you'll be equally amazed! They also have options that meet a variety of other dietary restrictions, and it sounds like they may have vegan options soon. What are you waiting for?! Stop by and get some delicious cookies!

Great option if you need gluten-free treats! The staff are nice and the cookies are unique and delicious. We use this place when we don't have the time or skill to make something we need for an event, but I would drop in for a quick bite if I was in the area. It is a quiet, family type eatery and far enough back from PCH to not be right next to any traffic.

We stan so many things about the place: 1. Layout - super clean, minimalistic, and classy. Small work cafe vibes but also order and go. 2. Service - she was so sweet! genuine gal i forgot to remember her name but she was working today. she was the barista and cashier. friendly but not overly in your face about it- super chill 3. Hojicha Latte - love they had the oat milk sub cause i'm lactose intolerant. authentic flavor and like that it wasn't overly sweetened. it helped refresh and no weird aftertaste 4. Cookies - personal favorites were birthday cake and lemon poppyseed. i personally like softer and chewier cookies versus crunchy and grainier ones so i wasn't as big of a fan of the matcha and dark chocolate. but the flavor was perfect. they also have a lot of menu options - savory, hot, cold, donuts, drinks, etc. so i wouldn't run out of options to try if i wanted to go back and fulfill my gluten intolerant cravings.

I love Kirari West, and I was excited to see that it finally opened Confections! I grabbed a few cookies to-go: two matcha white chocolate, one cranberry orange cardamom, and one butterscotch white miso. Total came out close to $20, so they aren't cheap...but they are hefty! The matcha white chocolate was a bit too light on the matcha flavor and had almost a powdery consistency. Sadly, I love matcha baked goods, so this was a disappointment...the cranberry orange cardamom was fragrant in the cardamom flavor, but it wasn't my favorite...but what stood out to me was the butterscotch white miso, in which the miso is subtle, but hits you later on. Very inventive, and it worked! Confections also turns these cookies into ice cream sundaes, so if you have a voracious sweet tooth, you can order it up! Overall, decent place, and if you like dense, chewy cookies, this is the place for you.

Kirari West opened this amazing confections shop to expand their delicious gluten-free offerings. The waffle sandwiches are the highlight of this shop. I really enjoyed the ham and gruyere. Perfect combo of thick cut ham, gruyere cheese, tomato, spring mix, and herbed sour cream sandwiched between two fluffy and chewy waffles. Love the miso butterscotch cookie also. This shop only offers a limited menu of coffee (drip and cold brew) but serves up great tea lattes. My favorite is the hojicha latte (roasted green tea). Love to support a local business that's doing great things and making delicious food!

The vegan pizza was soooo good, I really wish they had more vegan options there because I have celiac and I am vegan. It's a bummer that I can't have all those other gluten free foods they have there because they don't have many vegan options. Hopefully soon they can get creative! But in general, still wonderful

I had a little trouble finding this place despite being so close to the original Kirari Bakery in the same plaza. It was an impromptu gourmet cookie tasting! My fellow foodie Yelper friend Jukes K. wanted cookies. It was her birthday after all, so we ordered several to check out. These are all gluten-free, hand crafted and come in only one size. Sorry no mini samples! I ordered the Vegan Red Velvet, Miso Butterscotch, Dark Belgian with Roasted Walnut, Oatmeal Rum Raisin, Vegan Banana Dark Chocolate Chunk and Classic Chocolate Chip. Our fave was the Oatmeal Rum Raisin. If you are unfamiliar with the umami savory flavor of Miso, the Butterscotch may seem odd but compliments the flavor similar to the salty sweet combo of seasalt and caramel. You will soon be accustomed to the flavor and have a whole new appreciation for the added salty miso. The staff was great and so is the wall mural, great for selfies! We had so much leftover, I had to freeze the rest for future cravings. Will be back again soon! Parking in the lot.

Everything delicious happens here. Their waffles are incredibly fluffy (as testament to true craftsmanship in gluten free) and are delicious as a sammie. But the true reason to come here are their incredible cookies and donuts. The donuts taste like the ones my mom used to give us as kids and nostalgic in all the best ways. The cookie flavors range from your traditional chocolate chip to more adventurous matcha, but every one is so tasty. They are huge though so be prepared to split or take home.

I came to try the vegan cookies and unfortunately unlike the vegan stuff at the main Kirari location these were no bueno. Really super sweet and like idk wet and grainy and they got super duper hard so fast. Almost inedible after the first day. :(

My favorite spot, i absolutely love everything they have to offer. The pizza here is my absolute favorite and recommend. The staff is always very respectful and very helpful.

Adorable cookie shop, they even have ice cream! The staff was so nice. When we went the first time few weeks ago there was one worker who was friendly, informative and kind. She gave us samples of the ice cream and provided excellent customer service. My favorite cookie was the birthday cake. My nephews and nieces were with us and they aren't even GF but loved the cookies. We already had a bunch of treats at their Kirari bakery next door so couldn't eat or get too much here but next time we will come here specifically. I love the decor of this shop, so cute!

The strawberry matcha latte so yummy. The staff was super friendly and welcoming. The cookies at Confections by Kirari West Bake Shop are gorgeous, I bought half dozen for $24. They're perfectly formed, their names tell you exactly how you'd think they would taste. In reality, these are not cookies, other than their shape. They were mostly under baked in the center. They are all the same Blondie with different flavors that do not come through. The banana chocolate chip was the only good one. In addition, they were crumbly and almost chalky to the palate. Because of these reasons, they've been chopped.

First Timer, lured in by the Fall Dine LA $15 lunch combo. Good variety to try some of everything. Everything Fresh and Yummy. Waffles freshly made, crispy outside, moist interior. And the Waffler Cook Tony brought it out to me, he had a cute smile and Navia Counter Lady very friendly and helpful.

I am really glad that I gave Confections by Kirari West another chance. I ordered 18 cookies over the summer because of the free shipping and a coupon. Such a disappointment. Dry, dry, dry. Well, with my LO's birthday upon us, and a desire for cookies and ice cream, we tried again. This time, in person. First, the little shop down the parking lot from OG KW is cute and bright. Second, the staff is very friendly. Third, the cookies are AWESOME!!! I have have eaten one and a half last night which was TOO MUCH...so delicious they were. My favorites are the Butterscotch Miso and the Lemon Poppy but the Salted Dark Chocolate and Birthday Cookie do not disappoint. So, it was $17 for 4 cookies but they were AMAZE-BALLS. Just don't ship - trust me. 2 stars for shipped cookies and 5 stars for in-store cookies.

The wonderful Kirari West Bake Shop opened an extension of their wonderful bakery in the same plaza! Confections specializes in cookies & ice cream!!!!! Tried their plant based milk (Oat Milk) w/ chocolate! Definitely a must try!!! Also had their birthday cake cookie, their Matcha + white chocolate cookie, and they Lemon Zest + poppy seeds cookie! Confections offers the same quality ingredients as Kirari West (gluten free flour- non GMO). This place has done it again! A new favorite spot! Can't wait to bring the kids.

As a fan of Kirari West, I had to stop by at their new cookie store located in the same shopping center. There were 8 flavors of cookies available and I don't live in the neighborhood, so I bought all 8. I've only eaten pieces of 3 cookies so far and they are fantastic. A little pricey, but what isn't these days?

I live an hour away so I wa suppppper happy when my friend brought these for me on opening day! The cookies were SO GOOD. It's soft and so big. Just one bite and hello heaven. My friend who has no diet restrictions even said that it was the best cookie she's ever ate. I'm so excited that they're offering shipping since it's hard for me to go all the way there. Seriously every since one I ate was so good.

What a joy to find a gluten free bakery! It's so nice to not worry! The pastries were fresh and excellent. We bought a pizza to bake at home, stay tuned...

This place is so good!! I'm always looking for cute shops to do homework and this place blew me awayyy. I definitely recommend the peach jasmine tea and the matcha cookie. Service is awesome I really loved Cathryn she was super sweet and gave me great recommendations 100% will be back!!

Confections is so delicious! Some of the best gluten free cookies, donuts and waffles I've ever had. The service is always friendly! It's mainly for take out but there is some seating inside as well.

Staff was friendly and helpful. We enjoyed an assortment of delicious desserts. Although we don't live nearby, we are looking forward to going back again.

Gluten Free! Highly addictive.... Need I say more? 2 words Holy Cow!
