Conrad London St. James

My daughter and I had a fabulous 8 night stay at Conrad St. James. Coming from the US, we arrived at the hotel a little early for check in, but Stephanie was quickly able to find a room for us that was ready. The room was very quiet at night as it did not face the street. The room was spacious, especially the bathroom. We loved the Byredo toiletries in the bathroom and having a shower and separate bath tub. We had breakfast every morning at the buffet which was wonderful. Mimosas or champagne were served on weekends and on the bank holiday, which was a nice touch. The breakfast staff was very attentive whether we were seated in the Pem or in the Orchard Room. We also dined three times in the Blue Boar Pub. We especially liked the fish and chips. One afternoon we enjoyed afternoon tea in the Orchard Room. The staff were very attentive and made it feel like a special occasion. During our 8 night stay, we received three hand written notes from the hotel along with special treats like delicious chocolates, a bottle of wine, and champagne. It was such a lovely touch! The location is wonderful as it is convenient to Westminster Abbey, the London Eye, Buckingham Palace, St. James Park, etc. We were able to walk to most places, but when we needed to take the Tube, the St. James station was right across the street from the hotel. So convenient and easy!

The room was comfortable and very modern with technology. The location is spectacular for visiting the iconic sites of down town London. The staff were very helpful and friendly. The on site pub had great food and libations. Traditionally, most US hotels have very thin toilet paper and tissues, here at the Conrad we had good quality paper products. We were a bit scared off by the price per night, but was well worth the money

John at Hedgerow Bar in the hotel was the best part of our stay! Don’t miss a stop here!! ||John is a real craftsman—he builds each cocktail carefully, layering complex flavors into an amazing experience. We were so sad to have discovered him on the last night of our stay!||Aside from our wonderful experience at the Hedgerow, our stay at the Conrad was very nice. The food was excellent—breakfast at the Pem and dinner at Blue Boar Pub were both very good. ||The rooms were clean and plenty of storage. Beds were a little hard for our liking, but didn’t ruin our stay. We all slept fine…except for the light sleeper in our group. You can hear the trains leave the St James tube stop every 3-6 minutes until midnight. The room rumbles a bit. We were in 441 and 443, so maybe that is only an issue for that side of the hotel. ||All said, it was a good stay, made excellent by John and his hospitality

I got some mostly positive and some negative things to say about this hotel. I'll start with the positives. It is right near the subway, Westminster Bridge, Westminster Abbey, Big Ben, and St. James Park. It is also near some good restaurants as well. The Orchard Room tea is a great place for tea. Beautiful decor, a nice tea selection, lots of variety for desserts, sandwiches, and scones. Food there was good quality as well. In addition, I enjoyed the breakfast at the Hedgerow, which had a good buffet selection, and I definitely enjoyed the smoked salmon omelet. The lobby at this place is also nice. Now I'll discuss the negatives. Firstly, even though the bathrooms in the rooms are nice, the space in the room is a big gripe for me. Whenever you have more than 2 people in the room, it is hard to get around people because there is such a small gap between the bathroom and the closet before reaching the beds. In addition, the bedside room next to the window is virtually non-existent, and the other side is crowded by a desk chair and table. It is also a nightmare to get the bags out of the room because of the narrow passage between the walls and the 90-degree turn to the door. The room is at least visually appealing to make up for it, but overall, it is not the most convenient setup. I definitely still thought this hotel was nice, and I enjoyed staying here for the most part, but the room configurations are the biggest flaw, in my opinion. There is too much bathroom space and not enough bedroom space.

Not as it used to be.. stayed here a lot and the front desk team are excellent. Rooms are nice but looking tired. Having a bath in the bathroom all well and good but makes for small showers. |Lounge used to be really good. Now over subscribed which is likely to do with the tour operator tie up they have done. Reception often like a cruise ship opening.. |Food is no longer a proper offer. Quality really reduced as had the variety. Drinks are poor quality - student wine! |A real shame as this place used to be a real gem but not at the moment at the standard a Conrad should be.

We really enjoyed our visit here. To begin with the hotel is very centrally located by Buckingham palace, Westminster, Big Ben, St James Park and so many more places. The metro is right across the street and every employee was so helpful and friendly. The rooms were great, clean, and comfy. Also quiet! The rain shower is incredible!!

What an amazing hotel. I have stayed here a few times but am hardly a Regular. Nevertheless, the staff remember guests and treat in a highly welcoming and friendly way. The service goes well beyond efficient to warm and approachable. Service is incredible of course and food and rooms great - but the people set the Conrad St James apart.

A very delightful stay overall and will certainly continue to prefer Conrad wherever I travel next.

In fact, I was so enamored with the place that I nearly forgot to visit my family in East London. Nestled in the heart of Westminster, mere steps from Buckingham Palace, Big Ben, and Westminster Abbey, this hotel was my sanctuary during a recent European trip to visit family. Plus, St. James's Park station is right around the corner, making exploring the city a breeze. The Conrad's destination restaurant serves up locally sourced British fare with a modern twist, making classics like fish and chips feel like haute cuisine. If you are Craving something more casual, the Blue Boar Pub is your haven, with hearty pub food and local craft beers that'll warm you up after a day of sightseeing. And don't even get me started on the Traditional Afternoon Tea, served in the Executive Club Lounge. Picture delicate finger sandwiches, fluffy scones with clotted cream, and pastries that look like edible jewels. Trust me, your palate will thank you later. The impeccable location, luxurious rooms, and world-class dining had me pinching myself to ensure I wasn't dreaming. The friendly staff sweetens the deal, making you feel like a VIP guest from the moment you step through the door. This was a bad one and I cannot recommend staying here. I spend about 75% of my year at hotels in major cities so I've got a lot to compare it against. I'm a Hilton diamond and checked in around 7pm for a three night stay. For some reason, I was actually DOWNgraded from the rack room I booked online. I was provided with a tiny corner closet of a room, but it seemed that they tried to cram in all of the furniture typically found in a regular size small rack room into a space half its size. When I (immediately upon arriving to the room) contacted the hotel to see if some of the random & unnecessary furniture could be removed (my boyfriend had I literally had to step on top of the mattress to get to the other side of the room each time) they told me that they could not do that for health and safety reasons. I hope no one larger in size or with access issues ever has to stay in this room! I would strongly advise against staying here with more than one person per room. I'm accustomed to receiving the room type I booked, or even getting upgraded as a diamond member, so the hotel's treatment was very strange. Not once was I acknowledged as a diamond member (yes of course I booked direct) and they kept telling me a manager would contact me, but after waiting three days I gave up on that... DO NOT RECOMMEND, especially for average to larger size people - it's very challenging just to walk around this room. Upon arrival, I contacted them to let them know the shower/tub did not drain and also that the fixtures were falling apart, and they did not acknowledge or attempt to fix the issues at any time. Also, the housekeeping was very strange. The room was in rough shape upon arrival as far as controllable cleanliness. Two days went by without a housekeeper (no dnd). On the third evening, I walked into the room around 6pm and two housekeepers were hanging out inside chatting and seemed shocked when I walked in, then bolted from the room. They did not provide any amenities at all at anytime during the stay.

The good: across the street from a Tube station. Great team working the lobby and the front door area. Executive lounge food and staff exceeded our expectations. Room was large for a London hotel room. The bad: hotel housekeeping was almost non existent. We had to call them every day to clear our dishes and bottles. For the money we paid it was not worth it. We booked through Amex Travel and no guarantees for upgrade were offered. No explanations on what was included. We didn't know that the water was free in the room. The hallways are dated and dark.

Stay Anywhere for the Price Had a lovely stay at the Conrad in 2015. It was a beautiful, glamorous hotel. Unfortunately, almost a decade later, very little has changed. What was once was new and shiny is now worse for wear and in desperate need of a fresh coat of paint. Having recently stayed at the Conrad Osaka, the differences are so stark that it's hard to believe these are the same hotel chain. The rudeness of the receptionist upon checking in threw up alarm bells immediately. Especially after the kindness of the staff at a sister hotel we had grown accustomed to. Regardless, even without the luxury touches that Conrad hotels generally possess, the room itself is serviceable. What is harder to ignore is the general state of the amenities. Upon arriving, none of the phones in the room worked. The telephone in the bathroom (somewhat unnecessary for us, but useful for others) pulled off from the wall and no one bothered to fix it. Housekeeping did not even bother to clean the bathtub. There are wonderful things about the location. You are close to an underground station. You are close to Big Ben, Westminster, and all other manner of wonderful sites. The hotel itself, however, is next to a noisy pub. So you will be treated to other less wonderful sights, like people throwing up a mere stones throw away from the entrance. Twenty four hours later, vomit still there! Let's be honest here. If you can afford the exorbitant prices they are charging to stay at the Conrad, you can stay at any of their other competitor hotels who will likely offer much better experiences for the money. For the price, the Conrad simply isn't worth it. And this is coming from a Hilton Gold Member. I would advise the Hilton to sell it so it doesn't further lessen the brand's value. I, for one, know I will look at all future Conrads with far more skepticism than before. *** By the way, if you are wondering what happens when they respond with a nice "response" to a negative review saying that you should contact their General Manager so that they can speak with you? Nothing. Nothing happens. They do nothing.

A frequent Conrad guest around the world, the Conrad London St. James exceeded other locations in service, but didn't in accommodations. Checking in for a night in July 2023, let's start with service. The moment we walked in, two gentlemen greeted us and took our bags, later putting them in our room once it was ready. The front desk person was warm and walked us to the elevator, leading us to the executive lounge while we waited for our room to be ready. The executive lounge is clean, spacious, and comes with a spread or sandwiches, cookies, macaroons, and different little glass bottles of drinks. Once our room was ready, the same woman at the front desk personally delivered our room keys. In the evening, little chocolates were left on our pillows and slippers put by our beds. Breakfast the next morning was a breeze and a spread of hot food, pastries, a yogurt and granola bar, and more. Our server was phenomenal and endeared herself to our six-year-old daughter. Once we checked out, they looked after our bags while we explored London. In terms of the accommodations, we stayed in room 230. Multiple outlets didn't work. The room is clearly old and dark. The bed was very comfortable, but everything else was average. The hotel itself is historic and within walking distance to Buckingham Palace.

Great location. Wished we were able to check in earlier, but it was a busy time. Large room. Great food options. Great service all around.

Amazing stay. Staff was great and very helpful. The place is so centrally located it is a short walk to EVERYTHING! Couldn't have picked a better spot. Spectacular experience.

This hotel is centrally located. Walking distance to Big Ben, Westminster Abbey, Buckingham Palace, the London Eye...everything you need! The staff was so friendly and helpful. Doormen were GREAT! the housecleaning staff was GREAT! And every morning the restaurant staff was so cheerful, especially Amir who offered a great coffee house recommendation!! Our room was very nice with a large bathroom. Would definitely stay here again!

Always went to 6th floor and then came down to 5th empty. We took the stairs quite a bit. Checkin and checkout very slow. Card on file is not saved, have your payment in hand when checking IN and Out....not what I consider 5 Star Housekeeping did an ok job. Found cleaning towels left on top of tables or coffee area more than once. Hallways always had room service trays from the night before or water bottles left on window sills by the elevator for days. Bathroom is not set up to accommodate the use of the hair dryer provided. Electrical outlets need work. Tv is not accessible to use a Firestick. No instructions given on how to access input for casting. Front desk is unhelpful. Later, Front desk offered maintenance to come up and show us....not reasonable. Blue boar staff is hit and miss. Eggs undercooked. Multiple tables were sending the food back. However, the waitress with purple hair was rude and hostile to each table and asked them if they asked for the eggs to be well done. Huh? I asked for my eggs to be cooked. She chastised our table and 2 others. A very uncomfortable experience and certainly not the standard of your hotel

Extraordinary. Five star service and wonderful staff. We spent six nights at the Conrad and were never disappointed. 1) Our room was on the executive level and to our surprise it was comparable in size to most US (excluding NYC, Boston and other old-city hotel properties) hotels of comparable status. A huge bathroom with separate tub and shower was Las Vegas high-roller quality. 2) The executive lounge is top rate, from the snacks to service. Special kudos to the early morning staff who greeted us every day and made sure my wife had gluten free options. 3) Assistance with directions, printing soccer match tickets and housekeeping assistance were provided promptly and happily. 4) The bed was pure heaven after a long day afoot seeing the sights of London. Westminster Abby is just down the street. A more central location for seeing London could not be asked for.

Superb location. A 10 minute walk to everything you want to see in London. The rooms are smallish by our standards. Ask for a draw sheet, it's not included on the bed. Breakfast is awesome either way tons of options.

I stayed in the hotel from Dec 11-15 I thought I left my earrings, which I had in an eyeglass case, were left at home because I could not find them. When I got home, Dec 22 i could not find them either, I am ashamed to say I forgot about them. On Jan 20 , a month later, I went looking for a pair of my favorite earring, and could not find them!! Highly recommend this hotel. We purchased a room with Executive Lounge access. It was the perfect purchase. The breakfast, tea time and evening drinks & snacks were all great. The room was spacious, comfortable and clean.

The Conrad St James is more than a very fine hotel. It will quickly become your home away from home. Having stayed here twice for many days, I would not stay any place else in London. The hotel is located by the St James Place underground stop. However, Dave made life so easy for us- he hailed many taxis for us. He even made sure we had a safe and honest driver take us to Heathrow. The Executive Lounge is wonderful. Scherif will make you want to stay longer. He remembers names and our likes. Martyna was our front desk contact. She showed us around the hotel and ensured our stay was fabulous.

The food was the best and the service was phenomenal. The room was pleasant with a fluffy comforter and an over-the-head shower. The hospitality in the restaurants was outstanding. We had breakfast in the Pem and dinner and dessert in the Blue Boar, which were both very good. The Bellman are super helpful in flagging down taxis for all 11 of us to get to the stadium for the baseball games there.

Horrible experience, worst service from a Conrad I've ever had and completely changed my perception of the Conrad experience. We had nightmare after nightmare with the restaurants, food, room service, etc. I will never stay at this hotel again, especially after such incredible experiences with the Accor group. This is NOT a 5 star hotel by any standard - this hotel ruined our last night to enjoy London.

This is an impeccable hotel, extremely well-managed and spotlessly clean. The location is even better than you'd think: close to Parliament and Westminster Abbey--yes--but go up a street the other way and you're at Queen Anne's Gate. From there you're in St James Park and St James Palace. Presto! You're in Pall Mall and Piccadilly. Special notation for the gentleman who manages the lounge in the hotel: he was pure class. Would absolutely stay again.

Never again. Hilton has been going down hill since COVID. Stayed in a suite here for £400 a night and didn't get housekeeping until after 3:30pm two days. Executive Housekeeper said 4 people called in sick. Hospitality employees have figured out since COVID they are not being paid enough and calling in more often / especially nights and weekend shifts. People who suffer are the employees and the customers but NOT the corporations who still charge high fees for little to no service. Save your money and go to a non Hilton brand / as again and again, the Hilton brand is deteriorating. Hotel ventilation is a huge issue here as well.

I loved staying here purely because of how comfortable the bed was. I've never been in such a comfortable bed in my life. The room was designed beautifully and felt very homey. Because of this, we chose to stay in it than venture out most of the time! We traveled with 3 large suitcases, 2 small and another bag and were able to store them in the large closet provided, besides one suitcase, that we kept in the extremely spacious bathroom. It was completely sound proof, we never heard anything from outside or in the hallways. We stayed in an executive room so that we would have access to the lounge and it was worth it. The breakfast buffet has an amazing selection of fruits, meats, pastries, cereals, yogurts etc. plus amazing coffee & drinks - wine, champagne etc. I didn't make the afternoon/ dinner times aside from once and they had a really nice selection of small plates. I had salmon and it was lovely. They definitely don't skimp here which is appreciated. We also ate at the pub here a lot because of convenience but we really enjoyed the food. The fish and chips were amazing. I would say the only thing I had an issue with here is that I needed a usb plug because I had forgotten mine, and they told me to go buy one down the street. Not really a 5 star answer but whatever. I will be staying here again because I can't stop thinking about the bed

This a the only place I stay in London. Staff are lovely, location is quiet and steps from tube, a small market, pharmacy and Starbucks if that is your preference. Yet the street is small and not busy. I almost don't want to share this review so it's a secret how perfect it is

This hotel has it all. First class accommodations and first class staff. Great service always makes any situation better. There was just no shortage of amazingly kind, generous and thoughtful service. From the doorman, to the room attendant, to the executive lounge staff, to the front desk clerk, to the bar staff - just great. I had turn down service every evening in addition to walking into soft jazz playing over the speaker throughout my hotel room. The comforters were amazing down (I purchased from Hilton bedding shop). The bathroom was gorgeous. Marble everywhere, large and well appointed. Plenty of water, coffee, and tea - of course. The only downside was the absolutely horrible view from our window. Yucky roof view. Just keep the curtains closed and you're good. Since finding this jewel, I will always stay at this hotel when in London.

I selected this hotel for our 2 nights in London after combing through well over 100 reviews and SO glad I did. From arrival to departure, the Conrad offered up nothing but top notch service for our stay. From all of the reception staff to our housekeeper, smiles and warm greetings along with helpfulness is what we received. We were put in a gorgeous room (618) that had plenty of space and a lovely bathroom. I am always a sucker for the in-room robes, slippers and extra toiletries provided here. The bed was my favorite, it felt like I was sleeping on feathers (but in a good way) so the sleep quality was amazing. I took advantage of the in-room Nespresso machine each morning and am a big fan of hotels that still do the traditional mini-bar (we could not resist the peanut M&M's). I also loved that they had USB plug ins, as well as the US format plug available in room. The hotel is lovely, the lobby/reception area beautiful. This hotel is located in a perfect location for walk-ability to anything. My husband and I walked EVERYWHERE the three days we were there and I kept thinking how fantastic the location was. Even when we ended up at the Tower of London, we took the City Cruise as a one way back down to our area and avoided the crazy London traffic (similar to NYC) From Buckingham Palace to London Eye to Big Ben to Harrods -- all were in flat walking distance if you are a big walker like we are. There are some great restaurants and coffee shops within feet of the restaurant which is also nice. We took a cab to the hotel from Heathrow around 2P in the afternoon on arrival and it ran us with tip $117, when we left we did Uber XL to Heathrow around the same time and it was HALF that, so I do recommend going the Uber route if you can or like to not waste unnecessary money. I travel a ton domestically for work and stay in a lot of hotels and most teeter between 3 and 4 stars, even the good ones... Conrad just nailed it on everything I love in an accommodation. If my husband and I ever get back to London, I will absolutely stay at this hotel again.

This was one of those times where I will completley admit the husband was right. Getting those Hilton honor points did turn out very nicely for us for my first ever night in London. We were able to get this beautiful hotel on points and got a bonus of being upgraded upon arriving. The hotel was right around the corner from the St. James train station making it very easy to use public transport to get from the airport to the hotel. It is also walking distance from most of the major London sightseeing including Parliament, Big Ben, and Westminster Abbey. Checkin was easy and everyone was very helpful, friendly, and professional. Our room was huge with a ultra comfy bed with fluffy pillows, teas and complimentary coffee, and a very lovely mounted flat screen TV. The bathroom was something else. An elegant rainfall shower, separate soaking tub, and nicely scented toiletries. There is a pretty nice restaurant on the first floor where you can also get complimentary breakfast in the morning. If you're looking to get out of the hotel, there's plenty of places nearby to grab drinks or a bite. Overall, excellent accommodations and in the most perfect location.

Excellent hotel for the price. Stayed for 5 days and it was well worth it. Few minor complaints is there is no ventilation for the bathroom. A ventilation fan is needed, imo. Also, the hair dryer is too weak. A slightly better hair dryer wouldn't cost much. The only problem is that with standard power converters, hair dryers are too strong so bringing a personal one for international travelers is out of the question.

The service at this hotel is hands down some of the best I​ have ever​ received!!! Upon checking in they will give you a short tour of the area on the main floor and walk you to the elevator to see you up to your room. The doormen​ and Concierges were on point and always there to help. The 2 lounge areas are great and the restaurant is pretty good. The rooms are amazing and the cleaning​ crew is on top of it and very polite. We were there on a business trip and were utilizing the conference rooms in the basement. We did have 1 major issue with the technology in the space. it didn't​ work the morning​ of our event (luckily I​ am a technologist/engineer) i had to get permission to go in and manually operate the equipmetn in the room while the meeting was already hapenign causing major disruptions. We were taken care of in the end but this was a big problem they need to adress. Overall we do love this hotel, its location, ​and its staff and will continue to come back in the future.

Gorgeous place with friendly, attentive and professional staff, with attention to just about every detail. BUT, and this is just me, there are three things that are at the top of the list when I stay someplace, and that's a good bed, decent pillows and some airflow. The bed was hard as a rock, the pillows felt like they were filled with air, and while the HVAC was effective there's no real ventilation. Couldn't open the one window either which kind of sucked. That all being said, you won't spend much time there bc the location is just about as perfect as it gets, a short walk from Westminster Abbey, Parliament/Big Ben, the Churchill War Room and 10 Downing, with the tube stop right across the street. A couple of solid pubs nearby too. So if you're looking for the ideal location, you've found it. Just bring your own pillows hahahaha but seriously bring your own pillows.

It's my second time staying at this hotel. Love absolutely everything about it. Location, how clean is the hotel, breakfast, and very friendly staff. Highly recommend!

Unassuming hotel from front ( like most in London) however it is a wonderful hotel. Several lobby areas that are well appointed and comfortable. The style and furniture are understated elegance. The service at the lobby bar outstanding as it was in the 3 restaurants. The rooms were equally beautiful. The most comfortable bed/ pillows we've ever slept on. Bathroom shower and tub were perfect. Hotel staff especially concierge were all outstanding. Great hotel.

A very nice hotel in an ideal location from my point of view. This hotel is very close to Starbucks coffee shop, several restaurants and there is also a mini market, store, in the station across the street. The hotel is exquisitely decorated and modernized, the lobby is quite impressive, large and provides for comfortable seating as well as allows for travel throughout without stumbling upon others. The doorman will welcome you with a smile and assist you in any way at the front of the hotel. The rooms are luxurious, spacious, modern and equipped to provide everything you will need for your stay. The beds are extremely comfortable, soft and breathable linen, very pleasant to sleep. The breakfast is delightful as one would expect at a Conrad, loved the cocktail hour as well. Exceptional as always Conrad!!

What really distinguished this place for me was the personal attention and helpfulness of the staff. The only real negative was that our room wasn't available at check-in time. It was quite understandable that it wasn't ready when we first came in around 10:30 AM, of course, but given that they'd been aware we were there, you'd think someone could have notified housekeeping to have the room ready by 3 PM. We came back shortly after 3, and the room wasn't ready until 3:30. That being said, someone personally took us up to the executive lounge (I'm a Diamond member), and during that afternoon tea, notified us when the room was ready. I heard the same problem happen to another guest in the executive lounge 3 days later. Someday, I'd love for someone to explain to me what's so complicated about having a room ready by 3 PM, especially when you know the guest will be there. The room itself was very clean and comfortable, with AC able to keep the room quite cool at night, as I prefer. My only qualm with the room is that there was no sign on the panel to indicate the button for the drapes, and it's not even on the same wall, so quite difficult to find. The buffet breakfast in the dining room was excellent. For dinner, only pub food is available on Sundays and Mondays, so be prepared to walk 2 blocks to an Italian restaurant if you want decent food on those evenings. The location is great if you have government business, since it's an easy walk to the Houses of Parliament and Downing Street. HRH the Queen also has a place she stays at nearby (Buckingham Palace) when she's not at Windsor Castle or Balmoral. The hotel's across the street from the St. James Place underground station, so pretty convenient for Heathrow--change at the Hammersmith Station and you'll only have to walk across to change between the Picadilly and District lines. There is one flight of stairs to climb between the platform and the entrance, though (no escalator of lift/elevator).

Somewhere between a 3.5 and 4 star experience. Reception was kind at check-in. Doormen were always friendly, greeting you when you came and went. We had a pot of tea one afternoon, and the bar staff was very kind. Restaurant was good. Breakfast ordered from the menu was alright. Very slow. One morning was not good -- beware their avocado toast is actually made from guacamole? I did not enjoy this in the morning. The room was clean and comfortable. Couldn't figure out how to work the plug by the bathroom vanity. Shower door was tough to close, and, upon exiting, the water would be pushed out into the vanity area creating a mess. Nice to have turndown service and free water bottles replenished. Location was nice. Mostly in walking distance to what we wanted, though when raining, it was a bit too far from what we wanted, if that makes sense. I'd stay again, but not seek it out particularly.

The staffs are excellent, nice, patient and very helpful. Room is clean and comfortable. The hotel itself has good design and decoration. Great location and close to everything! The only con is there is no charger for hairdryer in bathroom, I took a shower at night and has to use in low mode to avoid waking up my little son.

I was in London for a good amount of time and stayed at the Conrad London St. James. I want to really thank the entire front desk staff and the daytime and night managers who really provide exceptional service which surpassed my expectations while staying at the Conrad London St. James. Upon check in at the Conrad the staff greeted me with the professionalism you would expect from their class type of hotel. I originally had been up in a room, I am a Hilton Honors Platinum and they couldnt upgrade at the time cause of availability but they provided their usual perks and it was nice. Spacious room, bathroom, quality bed, pillows, sheets, robes, drink bar, snacks and access to gym and executive lounge! Not to mention the daily English Breakfast and other healthy options and foods you can eat which is comp by the hotel for all guest staying there. My favorite thing about the location of the Conrad is the tube station, St. James is literally 20 yards across the street. Convenient to go anywhere in London with the tube right there. I want to point out the front desk and their entire staff where responsive and wonderful. I reported after my 1st night there that I had heard plumbing pipes or sounds in the walls and was not able to sleep the whole night. After reporting this and then coming back from my meetings, I noticed they immediately changed my room to their top level suite and moved all my bags and clothing. This very much appreciated and the fact they found everything I left in room and moved it all to the new suite was impressive! I just want to call out the entire staff on the wonderful service, professionalism they provided to me during my stay at the Conrad. Well done!!! I will be staying at the Conrad again when I visit London. Thank you! Cheers!

Wow! Just wow! This hotel blew me away. I took my mom on a 10 day trip to London and Scotland. I read so many reviews and decide on the Conrad St. James. We stayed here for 5 nights and we were not disappointed! It has such an amazing location. 2 of the main reasons I decide on this hotel was because I read it was right across from a tube station, and there are showers in the executive lounge. I am a diamond member so have access to that. Since our flight was getting in early in the morning, I wanted to have the access to the showers so we could freshen up in case our rooms were not ready. Our rooms were in fact ready and it was beautiful. They are smaller than other rooms we have stayed in, but there was so much storage so we were able to get our items unpacked and our suitcases out of the way. The bathroom was large and well appointed. It was so nice to be able to walk out the front doors and right into the tube station. On our first day we headed out for a tour and took the tube to meet at a park. By the time we finished by Westminster Abbey we looked to see what the walk back was and we realized we could have walked to the park that morning because we were so close! There is a lovely executive lounge where we had breakfast each morning and went back in the evening for their evening reception. My mom loved that she was able to fill a teapot up with hot water and brew her own tea. The staff was so kind and helpful, and the exterior of the hotel truly gave us the historic London experience. We will be staying here again when I come back with my husband!

Very nice staff and a beautiful hotel. I loved that it was within walking distance to Waitrose food store, Westminster Abbey, Big Ben and a station stop across the street. They had everything there. Wine, cheese, fresh fruit, aspirin, sandwiches, frozen foods ect. The hotel breakfast was very nice. I love all of the fresh options. The bathroom was relaxing and my room had a bath and separate shower. That helped out a lot on busy days to get us out the door quicker. Check in and Check out super easy.

The Conrad is a gorgeous luxury hotel in a well connected part of London. There is a tube stop just across from the entrance and several bus lines nearby. The incredible service starts upon arrival, with dapper staff opening your car door for you. The elegant lobby sets the tone, but it is a little on the small side and not a place you would like to linger and read a novel. The in-house pub is a fun spot and it is patronized by more locals than tourists - a huge plus in a hotel bar. Really enjoyed the the high tea with free flowing champagne! My friend and I had the whole place to ourselves. The executive lounge is a delightful place to enjoy complimentary breakfast, snacks, and evening wine or prosecco. I hope to have the luxury of returning to the Conrad again!!!

I love this hotel. Steps from St James Park, Buckingham Palace, Green Park, Mayfair and all that has to offer, the thing that got me was the bed and how good your nights sleep is. Its heaven. The rooms? Quiet, well furnished, glass enclosed rain shower and soaking tub, this hotel is very well priced when considering its peers, quality and location. Literally across the street from the St James Tube station. We liked our first stay and nights sleep so much we came back two days later for a second night. This is where I will stay in London from now on.

Fabulous experience, from the check in and warm welcome by management with an assortment of fruits. Our daily interactions with Dave the best doorman ever made it sad to leave. He was so incredibly helpful and kind!

Stayed at the Conrad with The Mister for 6 nights. The location is fantastic, we took the Tube from Heathrow (Picadilly line) and walked from the Green Park Underground station. It was about a 20 minute walk, but you could also transfer there to the Jubilee line which goes to Westminster station which is only a couple blocks from the Conrad. The St. James station is directly across from the Conrad, but it doesn't have a lift/elevator, so that wasn't an option. The location of the Conrad could not be better. It is a couple blocks away from Westminster Abbey, Big Ben, and walking distance of Buckingham Palace and Westminster Bridge and the Eye. The St. James station across the street also goes directly to the Tower of London which is about a 20 minute ride. We had access to the executive lounge, which was nice for breakfast every morning so we didn't have to go searching for something to eat. The breakfast wasn't anything special, but it did the job. A couple afternoons we took advantage of the lounge as well to get some coffee, water and snacks. The reason what would have been a 4 star review slides down to a 3, is that accessible rooms are not as common in Europe as they are in the US. The fact that the Conrad has accessible rooms is why we chose this hotel. However, there is no way to GET to your accessible room independently. There are 2 stairs from the lobby to the elevator. The staff would grab a portable ramp every time, and then put it back away. This got old. Real Fast. It wasn't so bad coming into the lobby because they see you. But when trying to leave the hotel the staff wouldn't be looking so you're waiting at the top stair like a dingleberry just hanging there. I would get so annoyed I'd just go grab the ramp myself so the Mister could get down, which the staff would look offended I was grabbing it. Oh well, we're not hanging around for 10 minutes waiting for you to see us. Here's an idea Hilton. Build a ramp! It's not just for those with mobility issues, but people carrying their suitcases to their rooms would appreciate it as well. I'm sure Hilton has the money to scrap together a few grand for a ramp, there is plenty of room to put one in. How they have accessible rooms but you can't get to that room without assistance is ridiculous.

This Conrad was just OK. The Conrad in Tokyo was "off-the-charts excellent." However, this Conrad in London was just OK. The location was more than acceptable... ok, good. The staff was friendly but the food was limited in the lounge. The champagne was definitely not flowing. There were cracks on the upholstery of the bench seats... but I digress. All in all, it was a favorable experience. I had scones, clotted cream and butter so all is forgiven. God Save the Queen! (just kidding, I think monarchies are a major scam)

This tea was soooo good. We tried to go elsewhere but they were full due to a water leak. The Conrad accommodates us last minute. The setting is relaxing, elegant, and welcoming with flowers, couches, crystal, and champagne. The manager was OUTSTANDING! This place was worth the expense in all ways. The jazz band played nicely in the background as we enjoyed a leisurely tea of delightful sandwiches, pastries, scones, and treats. We changed teas every course and each was delicious. I especially enjoyed the rosebud tea as recommended by the manager. One of the top 5 teas in London for good reason.

We are always treated like we are the only people here. From showing up 7 hours prior to normal check in time, and getting a room right away, to getting any special request done right away, they really know how to treat their guests. If you are a tall person their bed and tub easily accommodates a 6ft4 person. I wouldn't stay anywhere else when I am in London.

Terrible security here. People come in off the street to rob rooms with the help of hotel staff and nobody does anything about it. Not a safe place to stay - management didn't even care enough to respond to emails about the incident.

I really enjoyed the executive lounge, and found the service there above reproach. Check-out was a breeze, and the hotel's location is ideal. However, there are some areas of this hotel that could be improved. As a Diamond member, I've spent over 140 nights in Hilton hotels during the past two years, and the check-in for this hotel was one of the most unpleasant in recent memory. I had been communicating with Guest Relations prior to my check-in. The morning of my check-in, Alfonso, from Guest Relations, had told me there were several King Deluxe rooms available, and I responded requesting to be upgraded to one. However, my partner, who checked in four hours before my arrival, was not provided one of these upgraded rooms. When I arrived and requested an upgrade, Chloe, who checked me in, explained the policy of upgraded rooms (which I was already aware of), instead of apologizing for the confusion. This confusion would have been understood, even forgiven, should the room we did have been in better condition. Specifically, there was a large stain on the carpet near the beverage area, which is somewhat disgusting since that's what you see when entering the room. Further, the stopper in the bathroom sink is broken. Finally, when someone checks in with their credit card through the mobile app, as I did, I don't believe there is any reason to charge their companion a $200 deposit, considering the card used for the mobile check-in should be the credit card already on file with the hotel. I believe this is a great hotel. Had there been no issues with the check-in and upkeep of the room, I definitely would have no issue recommending the hotel.

This is an amazing hotel. Super luxurious while being welcoming and friendly. The staff, in particular Gedis, are phenomenal. As a vegan, I struggle with meal options etc when I travel, he was more than accommodating and took extra precautions to make sure I was taken care of for the entire duration of my stay. They have a great executive lounge (this is where Gedis can be found as far as I know) and INCREDIBLE rainfall showers. We will back without a doubt. Thank you (to the concierges, also Igor who handled all of our luggage, again, amazing staff) Conrad for providing us with such a lovely, unforgettable experience for my best friend's birthday. Well done on all accounts.

By most standards the Conrad is an ok hotel. It is not a 5 star hotel as shown by google. We were forced to move our plans here at the last minute because of problems at our originally scheduled hotel. That resulted in costing us over $400. The hotel has a great location in terms of the tube - right across from the St. James station on the circle and district lines. The room itself, while modernized is small a lacks a bureau for clothing. You just have to throw it into the closet on a couple of shelves and hangers. We loved out of our suitcases for the time we were here. Housekeeping staff did not listen to any of our requests that were made. They were little things, but it points to lack of understanding of a customers needs. Beds were a bit uncomfortable. I got less than five hours sleep each night and woke up with back pain each morning. Disappoint stay all around.

Every single detail about the Conrad screams sophistication. Aside from the fact that its central location can't be beat--with Buckingham Palace, St. James's Park, Westminster Abbey, Houses of Parliament and Big Ben practically on the doorstep--it is one of the cleanest and modern hotels around. Its contemporary design satisfies the senses for the modern luxury traveler while blending into a historic 19th century building where former Queen Anne's chambers was located. St. James's Park station across the street offers a convenient way to access the city. The concierge is one of the best I've ever experienced. Very friendly and helpful (seems like practically everyone in England is extraordinarily nice). Our room was amazingly comfortable and spacious. Free wifi, Nespresso machines in each room, afternoon tea in the lounge are just some of the things to enjoy while staying here. Small touches in the room itself such as the television façade, selection of fine teas, high-end finishes and amenities earn the Conrad its 5-star rating. I can't say enough great things about it, so I'll just say this: stay here!

i spent over a month in europe and this was my favorite hotel by far! everything was amazing and their service was top notch. the location can't be beat as it's right in westminster and very central. st. james station is literally right across the street and that made it so easy to get around london. westminster abbey was only a 5 minute walk away and buckingham palace was about 10 minutes away. the room was beautiful and very large for europe. there was even a window in a separate W.C. which was nice. the bathroom was huge and there was a speaker in there so you could listen to the TV. the lobby itself was beautiful with lots of flowers everywhere. we did do their breakfast buffet one morning and it was very delicious. there was a lot of variety and i definitely got my fill of cheese. we also tried their room service for a late dinner one night and the food was actually quite good. on our last day, we did afternoon tea, and it was amazing! we had made reservations several days ahead of time so they were aware of my gluten allergy. the service was impeccable and my champagne flute was never less than half full as they kept refilling it. they were great with explaining my gluten free treats and it was all delicious. we actually did the afternoon tea time at the ritz a few weeks later, and the conrad was so much better!

Am here (again!) and not ashamed to say that this is still getting all 5 stars from me. I'm only passing through for 1 night on my layover to Denmark but am finding all kinds of reasons to applaud the staff for going the extra mile to make me feel welcome and well taken care of. Access from the Tube coming from Heathrow is easy (District line, St. James's Park stop). I arrived at 12:30pm and guaranteed check in is not until 3. So, they did not have a room available to me but sent me to the Executive Lounge to grab a shower after my red eye flight and a stiff double espresso. The Exec Lounge Host carried my bags from the shower back to the bellman for safe keeping and I went out to explore the wonders of London. Upon returning at 6pm, my room was ready, they upgraded me to a large room, my bags had been delivered and placed in a nice unpacking spot for me. About as seamless as it gets. Upon inquiring of the Exec Lounge staff about the best way to get to the airport for a morning flight, no less than 2 knowledgable employees weighed in and gave me great advice. So different from standard hotel staff experiences that I am used to. Every single staff member I have run into here goes out of their way to ensure that whatever your issue/question/need is, they get you taken care of without invading your privacy or personal space. Well done Conrad London, well done! I see absolutely no need to ever stay anywhere else when I am in London.

I couldn't wait to get home to write this review. I'm laying in a luxurious bed at the Conrad right now and it's one of the best hotel experiences I have ever had. #1 GREAT location to walk around and sight see. May not be the best place if you would rather have the night life scene of Camden or soho but there is so much within walking distance. #2 amenities are great. Bed is so comfy, food is delicious (breakfast is worth it), executive lounge is all day service with breakfast, afternoon tea and finger foods, happy hour drinks and snacks. Bath tub, shower, and bath robes will make you want to stay in your room all day. #3 staff and room cleaning are top notch! Staff does everything to make your stay wonderful and our room was beautifully cleaned and organized when we came back from a day of walking.
