Spacious, stylish hangout with a variety of environments for seasonal Californian fare & cocktails.
"Four-year West Hollywood restaurant compound Conservatory is closing at the end of the year. The corner space (which actually encompasses a dinnertime dining room, semi-open-air bar, a separate lounge area, multiple patios, and a daytime walk-up cafe window) sits just across from Hamburger Mary’s on busy Santa Monica Boulevard and has been a hub for locals looking to get everything from grab-and-go breakfast burritos to a late-evening drink. Owner Paul Kalt of real estate development firm the Kalt Group says on Instagram that he’s going to “dedicate more time to ongoing projects and begin work on some exciting, new hospitality concepts.” Kalt’s Conservatory first made waves back in 2018 for its stunning build-out and historic location along Route 66; the cafe building was the original home of Irv’s Burgers, which has since relocated and reopened with a classic look not far away." - Farley Elliott
"A representative of Conservatory in West Hollywood says it will require either a recent negative COVID-19 test or proof of vaccination to enter the restaurant, bar, and cafe." - Matthew Kang
"Cozy up or chill out with the selection of large-format winter drinks ($40) on Conservatory’s “Tis the Season” cocktail menu. The hot cocktail carafe options include a hot chocolate tequila Winter Wonderland and a rummy apple cider Rum Pum Pum Toddy. Or enjoy the temperate winter weather with a daydrink-friendly Holiday Rose Sangria with persimmons, Asian pear, Fuji apple and pomegranate seeds." - Caroline Pardilla
"West Hollywood’s Conservatory is doing full racks of ribs, smoked beef ribs, sausage, and more as part of a set-price box for $95." - Farley Elliott
"Another day, another beautiful and painfully subpar restaurant in the heart of West Hollywood. The Conservatory looks the part - the dining room is almost entirely outdoors, green vines hang from the ceiling, and there are accent fires everywhere you look. But that’s where the fun stops. The food is boring and over-priced (there’s a $34 short rib that’s so overglazed it’s sour) and even the cocktails are weak and taste pre-made. Conservatory is where you go to see and be seen and that’s about it." - Brant Cox
