Operating since 1925, this vintage lounge packs its stage with jazz, soul, and DJs most nights. The City of Fullerton lists regular live music, and regional outlets chronicle its speakeasy‑era bar vibe—still the town’s go‑to for late‑night culture.

Ive been here a couple times. Ive always been treated well. If you get there a night with music is the best. Last time was a nice older gentleman bartender. There was a private party or something happening so there was a dj in the next room where the party was happening but not live music. The bartender kept us entertained.

Google
Security guard stuck his finger in my belly button and unbuttoned my jeans while "patting me down." Pretty humiliating and violating experience, and makes me concerned of what he might do to women who are coming in. Steer clear

Beware going here! They have a homophobic security guard. We got kicked out by him last Friday for my transgender friend using the female restroom. He was very unnecessarily angry and aggressive. He could have simply apologized or clarified that it was not allowed and we would have left with no problem. However he decided to turn it into a big scene which made our group upset. Use to come here very often no problems like this before. Now I’m afraid to go here.

If I could leave 0 stars I would. The staff is so rude. They served last call at 1:45am and expected people to finish their drinks by 1:50am even though the place closes at 2am. The bouncer made my friend throwaway her drink that she paid $15 for. And told my other friend who was trying to finish his drink that he doesn’t “see him walking out one foot in-front of the other” when it was only 1:50am. My friend was very respectful, as we work in hospitality, and complied. When I confronted him, he said it’s not his problem because he clocked out prior to 2am. The manager was rude and emphasized that no one can have a drink in the establishment at 2am when, again, it was 1:50am and he decides when it closes. Then, they degraded me by assuming I was drinking when I was actually sober. I brought up that they had horrible hospitality, and they said they are not a hospitality establishment. The manager and bouncer who was wearing a grey suit (allegedly named Michael) should both be fired and are a disgrace to the hospitality field. I 100% don’t recommend coming here.

KOKO is the best bartender! This place rocks no matter if you dance or not! Girls teaches us!!!

Google
Friendly staff & a pleasant relaxed atmosphere. They serve any drink you can think of & friendly regulars as well. I would recommend The Continental to any one,if you want a kick back place to unwind & chill with a date, your friends or even be by yourself.

Google
The staff is awesome. The low red lighting gives it a Good Fellas vibe. Live bands play on a really cool stage with an old school curtain, makes you feel like your at an opera theater. Its a very cool place to go out with your friends and have fun dancing. Tuesday night they had karaoke and it was a lot of fun. Its a safe environment and the MIB Security staff is top notch. Love it here 5 stars!!!

Yelp
OMG my sister and I had the BEST time at The Continental Room for Emo Prom!!! They have fun themed nights going on all the time with live music, djs, all the things - def check out their calendar. There are multiple rooms, for this event there was different music in each and a photo booth. It was around Halloween and the crowd totally got in the spirit. Spooky Emo is a vibe. The bartender was cool and beers were reasonably priced. Everything felt clean, even the bathroom ;) Really fun venue, crowd, everything - can't wait to go back!

Yelp
We reserved the VIP section on Instagram for one of the nights as an after party location. It was super easy to book and was a lot of fun! We had our friends meet in the VIP section, it was only a two bottle minimum and they played good music

Yelp
If I can give ZERO stars i would BUT This is our first and last time coming here! Plus it says smoking allowed and they told us not to. Says they close at 2am yet close at 1:30am! manager or whatever he is claims he closes whenever he wants? then CHANGE your online information to 1:30am! He claims "last call" is to get up and leave. No, last call means to buy your alcohol before they close. Online says close @2am yet they wanted us to leave at 1:30am! lCHANGE YOUR HOURS ONLINE! Thank you very much!

Yelp
OMG THE DRINKS ARE SUPER STRONG AND WELL MADE! When you walk in, the music on both dance floors are pretty poppin!!! You can be any age and walk in and feel the groove. I had a great time with my buddies and our wives. We did feel a bit old, but an old soul never hurt anyone. We like it here because its lively and because the music is great!! LOL Until next time!! Only complaint is the bathrooms be a little musty, but its okay, we make it work!

Yelp
I remember coming to this place years ago and it was a cool vibe. Red velvet casual music. Good drinks. Not so much anymore. It reminded me of a bar in TJ . Loud music. Disco lights and not loungy at all anymore. Sad. Service was fast and with a smile.
google avatar

Shamarra D.

Yelp
The music was banger after banger. I went Sunday night and I thought it was going to be dead but it was the complete opposite. I definitely have to go back on a Saturday to see the atmosphere. The drinks were made excellently

Yelp
Mo. The manager of the place put hands on us and kicked us out waaay before 2am in the bathroom, we were in the bathroom and he sent people to kick us out with out warning and all the Staff was rude and aggressive kicking us out. Never experienced something like this. Mo himself put hands on my sister and pushed her out when we were trying to put a sweater on, it was barely 1:45 am. Had his staff and security push us and other women out from the restroom, the guys literally went in the restroom at 1:40 am and started harrasing us to leave. Had a female at the end qt the door harrasing us to get out when we were leaving. Would never come back especially after the OWNER MO was the one that put hands on my sister and pushed us out and had his whole staff harrasing us and others to leave

Yelp
BE CAREFUL WITH THIS PLACE!!! THEY SCAM PEOPLE!! This is the second time I post this because they took my review down. I came here on 9/27/24 with a group of 4 and I paid for everyone ($40 for $10 per person) and when my friend and I went in we noticed our other two friends weren't with us. Apparently they were charging them via card!!! Even though I told them I was paying for everyone AND I paid $40 cash!! The big woman and big man probably pocket the cash and charge cards!!! SCAMMERS

Kim M.

Yelp
elvis the bartender was super sweet and cool, made our night for sure !! i love his energy, the music here is soooo good too
google avatar

Jeff L.

Yelp
This is a piece of history! Love the ambiance feeling like you're a boolegger from back in the day. They also set up music on the weekends so you can dance. Drinks are just standard stuff for a bar, don't come here expecting these crazy martinis that these new age places have.
google avatar

Yelp
BILL THE BARTENDER! That's all I have to say. Good music. Great drinks. Super chill, laid back, dark, old school watering hole. Exactly my kind of vibe. Come here for drinks and convo and say hello to my man, Bill. The true gem here. Cheers!
google avatar

Yelp
Mo the bartender is awesome. Accommadated a large group and made everyone happy. Great DJ, fun environment for a night out. Will be coming back!

Yelp
Came here after a wedding and it was fun! The music was great, especially for DTF, there was a lot of hip hop and that's hard to find around here, so thank you for that! I was a little apprehensive coming going out because of Covid, but as far as I could tell things have ended up alright. Although there was no social distancing (of course, it's a bar lol), I felt... okay to be in this atmosphere. The DJ for the night was dope, real nice guy that took request, but really had no need because he was too busy keeping the dance floor hyphy!

Yelp
The Continental Room. Once dubbed "The Viper Room of Downtown Fullerton," by me and the groupchat was a place with an ambiance so effortlessly cool, you almost felt cooler just for being there. Now, walking in feels like you're imposing on the bouncers' personal space, like they'd rather be anywhere else, and maybe you should be too or at least that how they made me feel. Kudos to their bartenders they're definitely knowledgeable. Inside, it's a club scene that you'd swear is curated by a magic 8-ball, with themes changing every night, as if they're throwing every trend at the wall, hoping something sticks. Look, I get it change is inevitable. But the soul of the place? That seems to have slipped away. I'll give it another shot in the summer, see if it's found itself by then. But until then, RIP to The OG Continental Room.

Yelp
It says smoking allowed on Apple Maps and when I lit up my joint, the stupid ass mf told to not smoke when I told him, I thought we were allowed to smoke in here. That's what it said online.

Yelp
ERWIN IS DADDY! He deserves a raise!!! Best bartender in downtown Fullerton! Erwin if you're seeing this I love you and your drinks are fuego GANG GANG See you again next time

Yelp
I accidentally stumbled on the continental room. It's the oldest bar in Fullerton. It started out as a real speakeasy in 1925. The bar tender Sue was super friendly and the drinks were great. Wednesday's is 50% off whiskey so it's easy to get buzzed for cheap.
google avatar

Padra R.

Yelp
Saw the Band Agent Orange, man they killed it there, great little place where you can be up and close with the band. Bartenders were friendly and quick and getting you serviced. My Favorite part was the Bathrooms were clean and they were big with a few stalls and pisser heads. Best part of the Show was taking breaks outside and shooting the shit with the bouncers and staff they were super friendly.

Brett D.

Yelp
The Continental Room used to be the best quiet bar in Fullerton that happened to have live music every now and then. It was a bar first, music venue second. After changing owners in December 2023, it has now become a full-time, latin nightclub that just happens to have a bar in it. I'm sure it's making the new owners a ton of money, but Fullerton really lost something special here.
google avatar

Giselle Y.

Yelp
So they tout this as the oldest venue in Fullerton (1925) and that is most definitely a charming aspect but it's also really vibey and the music is great and the drinks are reasonable and good! Saw Sitting On Stacy and Mustard Service. Really cool that they get all sorts of acts in here. Had a really great time! Oh and with parking across the street it was hassle free. It also felt like a very safe area! A+

Esme E.

Yelp
Won't come back here. The place is muggy and the staff is rude. I can go on and on but not worth MORE of my time wasted here.
google avatar

Kevin M.

Yelp
Stopped in not knowing what to expect and were definitely less than impressed. The wine my wife was served seemed overly oxygenated and my old-fashioned had a flavor that I wasn't sure of. Didn't see the secret room but we did see somebody fall out of their chair roll around the floor and the bouncer took him out at 5:30 in the late afternoon! Not sure if we'll ever be back.
google avatar

Mashelle H.

Yelp
We need to keep this a secret. It was the coolest place ever to see Agent Orange. I love small venues. I was at the bar and people In the slam pit running into me. Awesome lol! Oldschool loved it!
google avatar

Seth R.

Yelp
I took my girlfriend here on our second date and it was a great place to have a good drink!

Jessenia S.

Yelp
The bartenders were amazing all night. But the manager MO was Rude and disrespectful, put hands on a female to get her to leave. We were in the bathroom with other females around 1:40 am when he sent male staff in the women's restroom to kick us all out, The staff was harrasing us to get us to leave when others were trying to put a jacket on to walk out ,*there was no warning on them closing down and us having to leave *the whole time they were being aggressive and talking down to the girls who were trying to get there jackets on and finish their drinks * there was about 6 girls in the restroom* when they let guys before us walk out onto the street with their drinks in hand and them finishing there drinks outside. The manager MO was super disrespectful towards all the females cussing them out to leave and that's when MO pushed one of the females to leave. Never seen a manager be so disrespectful

Heather E.

Yelp
Be careful. Our group was wrongfully double charged for the same drinks at the end of December. I was told it was handled that night, it wasn't. I have called and even visited the bar to be told it will be handled, it has not. My understanding is that new ownership took over in December, however, it doesn't excuse not giving a person their money back when the bartender made the mistake. I have been told multiple times over the phone that they "aren't trying to take my money or anything" but that doesn't seem to be the case since I still haven't gotten my refund or a call back as I was promised. I don't typically write reviews and I am fully expecting to not get my money back at this point, but I felt that people should know about my experience as this can happen to anyone.
google avatar

Veronica V.

Yelp
This place was great until they double charged my card after I closed out. Two separate charges applied to my card when I had only signed for one. Unfortunately, whenever I call and try to talk to someone they say management will have to "get back to me" about figuring out the charges. If I ever go back I'll make sure to pay cash, I advise you do the same. Place is fun but pay attention to your close our bill.
google avatar

Alfred E.

Yelp
Bartenders way too wasted tonight 3/3 and should be fired. It's Friday night. Bartenders are taking shots at the main bar (not side bar). They get so wasted they overcharge me. I say something and they refund it but on someone else's card. So then I say something again and they give attitude and expect a tip for correcting it. Best of all, 3 other strangers next to me complained about the same issue too!
google avatar

Anthony G.

Yelp
Good music, drinks were strong, and workers are cool. What else do you need to know? I recommend this place!
google avatar

Seabrook M.

Yelp
I was born to run I was born to dream The craziest boy you ever seen I gotta do it my way Or no way at all For a Saturday night this place is the best place to go to with friends because there are booths to sit at and the drinks are made pretty darn well. Used to come here back in the days when I was living in Fullerton area and the place still keeps its charm. The only reason I gave this place a 4 and not a 5 was because they play to much radio pop songs when they should be playing some lounge music or something that better fits the ambiance of this classics retro bar. However, most all bars in Downtown Fullerton on a Saturday night play the top 40 radio pop songs to attract the younger demographics. Either way, we had a great time and ordered some Pabst blue ribbon cans for 5 dollars, which wasn't bad because they were pretty big.

Yelp
Do not go to a show here to see a band. There's no AC it's so hot, it's disgusting. I spent $25 to melt nope never again. Not worth it. They have the room next door open now which is much bigger that's where the bands should be playing. The room next door though there's no AC in there either. We were so hot we retreated in there to cool off but were unpleasantly surprised to see there's no AC blasting in there either. We put our hand out to see if the AC was on, nope nothing. Ridiculous waste of money, I couldn't even enjoy the band I went to go see. Do not recommend! Also the floor going into the side room is all warped and uneven, definitely a trip hazard. I almost fell, not cool. No wonder why everyone left after the show. It's a bar, if you did things right people would stay after and enjoy the place, but nope everyone left as soon as the band ended and I don't blame them. By the way, we stayed to finish our drink and they ended up turning on the AC after the bands were done maybe like 15 min later which I find to be pretty ridiculous, you cant turn it on for the people that paid to see a show but you turn on the AC after for the people that are just showing up? I don't understand the logic.

Yelp
Location: Down town Fullerton on the corner of Harbor Atmosphere: Dark, small and they have a glow of red lights. It definitely gives you a dark lounge feel. It is also pretty small. Gives you that dive bar feel. Music: Every time I have gone has been top 40 or early 2000s. I enjoy it because I love to dance, but the dance floor is small so on a packed night it will be a tight squeeze and HOT! I feel ventilation and ac is poor here so you will be dying if you have a long sleeve on, etc. Deals: This is your go to on THURSDAYS because all the drinks are $5. No joke total win. So if you are trying to have a true "Tasty Thursday, throw em back Thursday, Tipsy Thursday" thank me later Thursday then this is your go to spot!
google avatar

Bobby G.

Yelp
Very fun place to listen to music on a Friday or Saturday night. Bartenders are amazing and the atmosphere is classic. Very small dance floor pretty dirty restrooms, but who's chilling in the restroom anyways right? I wish they had snacks to soak up some of the alchohol that is consumed. For that you'll have to leave and go next door to the other free club and pay to come back to this one. Interesting. Just a few things to work on and it'll definitely be a 5star club.
google avatar

Alec S.

Yelp
Great dive bar in DTF. One of the oldest in town. Used to be a speakeasy back in prohibition times. They used to have live music every Sunday-Wednesday but haven't seen too much since covid. Tim the bartender is a sweetheart of a dude. Check out whiskey Wednesdays. 1/2 off whiskeys
google avatar

Yelp
My grandfather use to own this establishment. Been coming for years, they started confiscating cannabis at the door this past year and one of the employees flagrantly gave me someone else's s cannabis on the way out. Out of embarrassment and pride the bouncers have banned me. It's a shame considering all the memorabilia my family has donated. I don't understand how I am being punished for their employees mistakes and negligence. Use to love this place, but now I realize it's ran by a bunch of incompetent jokers.
google avatar

Alice Y.

Yelp
Dark and seedy dance floor with a fun crowd. The venue is actually small, and the most I've paid for cover here was $10. In general, the music mixes mainstream pop and rap radio hits with some throwbacks to top 90s pop/electronic songs. Well drink was weak. Women's restroom lines get long, especially if one of the two toilets goes out of order. One time the sink was clogged and it was nasty.
google avatar

Michael A.

Yelp
I've been to The Continental Room a couple times now and I've always had a great time. It definitely has a unique vibe to it in comparison to other bars in Downtown Fullerton. The line to get in is usually quick, and the bar is pretty long, and therefore accessible to order drinks from. The bouncers here are all pretty chill, and service has never been rude. My last trip here was this past Thursday night. $5 Thursdays is what they call it. Every Thursday, their drinks are all $5! I usually get a tall can of IPA, which is not a bad deal. The music here is on point, and though I don't dance, they do have a dance floor area. They also have a back alley/patio, where I believe you can smoke if you want, but I don't smoke either. Though small and narrow, it's pretty cool to hangout there, however. If looking for a bar to check out on a Thursday night, I'd definitely recommend this place. It won't blow you away, but it's fun and unique. I haven't really been on other nights, so I can't speak to that, but Thursdays here get pretty wild and decently packed. The crowd is generally nice and friendly. I will likely be back again. Go ahead and give it a try for yourself!

Yelp
Dark dive bar...check. 80's music playing...check. Bartender with heavy pours...check. Love this place.

Yelp
Worse service ever management sucks along with fat ugly a*** Vanessa. Vanessa can kiss my a**. Wish I knew the only gentleman that help me today wish I knew his name, helpfulness. I asked for his Zelle or Venmo but he denied he was very professional, even thought I wanted to only tip him n not his witch coworker Vanessa.

Yelp
Love coming here for a quick drink before the sun goes down and all the drunk obnoxious young crowd comes out .... Bill is an awesome bartender who can keep up an quick witted conversation... and Tim is just an amazing honest person.
google avatar

Beril P.

Yelp
On a hot summer day I love the shady dark interior lighting. Great atmosphere even in the middle of the day. The bartender was also very helpful making a custom white wine / soda lime cocktail for me!
google avatar

Dave L.

Yelp
Inexpensive drinks. Women in four-inch heels. (Friendly patrons, not strippers!) Plush vibe. Pop music. No cover. I like. Continental Bar is a longtime Soco standby for those in the neighborhood. I found myself here one Thursday night thanks to a friend. It was busy, but we managed to score seats by the bar. Howard the bartender poured us a laundry list of libations, including a White Russian, a vodka tonic, and a straight vodka shot, which led quite naturally to a Jack and Coke, all for $28. That vodka shot was hefty, almost making me lose it - it was a taxing night. Taking our drinks, we moved to a booth where we proceeded to discuss the follies of life until last call, when we left Continental Bar with heavy hearts.

Yelp
Thanks to Jessica T. I realized the original review I wrote was for another Bar during my visit to OC. LOL guess I must've been drunk or something. Yikes! So the Continental Room is ok. We came here at the suggestion of a friend. There was four of us, meeting up with a big group of friends we hadn't seen for long time so wanted a place where we can drink and dance without the "Clubbing" scene. This place was kind of dead but after 10:30 - 11 it does get pretty packed. Come early if you want a table or have a group of friends and want seating. The pros: Friendly staff Drinks are decent Prices are decent Mixture of people In walking distance to other bars/clubs The decor The cons: Gets too packed, cam barely move Music wasn't great Dance floor was way too small The booths were small and not spacious at all. Over all we had a good time with our friends. This won't be my first choice but I wouldn't be against coming back here.

Yelp
Loved this place and they have great specials during the week! I recommend you try their local beers and have yourself a good time.

Yelp
Birthday party madness part II. It never stops at just one with us. There's always an after party and that's how we ended up here. The Continental Room has a seriously chill vibe. Good luck finding this place. We wandered down a dark alley way and found a mysterious man standing out front and lo and behold, we were here. Huzzah! Inside you'll be surrounded by lush reds and plush velvet booths and a really bad karaoke singer. Order a few drinks and you'll hardly notice he's there. I would not recommend the raspberry though. That crap tasted like bitter cough medicine. The well drinks and apple martinis were ok but seriously it's all about the atmosphere here and some place to hang after epic birthday party madness.
google avatar

Fred G.

Yelp
This bar is a piece of shit bar.....,the week before my wife was kicked out because she could not dance well....and they thought she was drunk.....second, time they kicked me out after 2 drinks because one of the of duty bouncers made me spill a drink. They told my wife and my best friend I was past out drunk outside. They lied about me...,and the worst part was the the asst mangr Danny had promised me 5 complimentary drinks..,,,FOR the incident the week before, when the bill came Danny totally l lied and said he never said that. Crappy place to go to, better place is hero's next door.

Yelp
Now that is what I'm talking about!! I finally found a free bar with a dance floor that I like. Wednesday night, is Elvis Presley night. Came early, hung out in one of the booths. Very chill atmosphere except at 10ish you hear this dude singing Elvis songs. To be honest, I didn't think he all was that great but very entertaining to watch people actually try to dance to the songs drunk. Saturday night, came really early and I saw a bunch of guys in shorts and flip flops. Eh I thought this was a bar not the beach? Any who, later in the evening, the beach bunnies left and the other crowd started arriving. The booths along the bar gives a different vibe from the crowd on the dance floor. The dance floor is teeny tiny..yes it gets hot, stuffy, and crowded but well worth it if you are drunk :D They also have a private room in the back for events. It holds up to 8 people tops. You can hook up your ipod and play your own music. I liked the space, but the room is kind of $$$ expensive.

Jared M.

Yelp
The bartenders are completely aloof. They act like they're doing us a favor just by being in our presence. Let's get this straight, a bartender serves drinks to hard working people. Stop trying to act like you're so above everyone. The patrons are always pretty great, and polite. The bartenders act like a gambler walking around with a full house. You're not doing us a favor. There's so many other classier bars, where the bar tenders are fantastic. Grow some humility. You work at a bar in Fullerton..... you look incredibly lame.
