Great meal! The hostess was running food and bartending- she was so so sweet attentive even though she was basically running the place. The salad was the highlight for me !

When we walked in, we were met with the most lovely scent! We did late night happy hour and it was a fantastic deal. We had mussels and clams, served with cheese toast and it was perfect. We had a negroni and a martini that were done well. The ambiance was fantastic and the people that work here are lovely! Highly recommend!

Google
Good food but slower service. Feels like they could use a few more servers. We had a large party, and the food did not come out all at once. One person waited about 10 minutes for food after everyone had been served. There is no kids menu, but they can make some more kid friendly dishes that are off menu. The kids in our group got a burger, chicken strips, and spaghetti with butter. Limited menu for adults, but the food was very good.

I had the pleasure of dining at Conversations with a couple of friends, and from start to finish, it was an outstanding experience. I arrived fashionably late, but my friends were already enjoying themselves at the bar with the amazing bartender, Oscar, who was crafting delicious, well-balanced cocktails. The drinks made their way to our table seamlessly once we were seated. Although our table was ready, the staff kindly waited to seat us until our full party had arrived—a small touch that felt genuinely thoughtful. Our server, Tony, escorted us to our table and took the time to confirm which dishes were appetizers and which were entrees, ensuring everything came out just right. One detail that truly stood out—and is so rare these days—is the pacing of the meal. They actually served the appetizers first and waited until we were completely finished before bringing out our entrées. Seriously—they waited. That kind of attention to the dining experience is what sets a place apart. Dinner was absolutely delicious, and the drinks kept flowing, each one just as delightful as the last. Everything about this place—from the service to the ambiance to the food—was professional perfection. Huge thanks to the incredible staff. We’ll definitely be back!

Google
Great service and food. Espresso Martini was smooth. Saturday morning vibe was nice and chill - perfect if you want to be able to talk to your friends while dining.

Google
There is too much green. I wish the dish had couscous or some other veggies. The halibut was cooked well.

Google
Had such a good dinner here trying their new menu! Everything was great but loved the roasted oysters, chile butter shrimp, and the eggplant lasagna especially. Also thought the potato cakes were excellent (ate them too fast so forgot to photograph!) Can’t wait to come back and try more

Google
Had steal cut oats: delicious. The food came out promptly, and the server was nice. Everyone enjoyed their meals and it was super helpful.they broke up the checks for a big party, most places won't do that. Lots of breakfast options and everything tasted fresh and was well presented. Would def go again.

Yelp
Came in on a Wednesday evening before a show at the Moore. I met up with a few friends for a quick bite. I cruised the menu beforehand and was delighted to find steak frites as an offering-my favorite! We started with the sunchokes which were wonderful. Their texture was velvety, and the accompanying aioli was fantastic. My friend ordered the fish and chips. Her fries were cold, and she received two smallish pieces of fried fish, which, for the price point was not what we were expecting. I ordered the aforementioned steak frites, medium and to my disappointment received a charred medium-well steak atop a plate of cold frites. We were in a rush to make the show, so we made do and hit the road. I wanted to be a fan, but I doubt I'll return.

Yelp
While staying at the Thompson, I took advantage of the happy hour here. I am glad I did! It's one of the best deals in Belltown. Head on over tonight! The mussels and clams for $15 is amazing! The mussels were the largest I've had. They were fresh and tasty. Two pieces of bread were included. I washed it back with a $5 pint of local IPA. My husband loved the $15 chicken sando and local Pilsner. It doesn't come with anything but a huge side of fries for a few dollars more is a real treat. Service was perfect. It was an intimate and cozy happy hour for us. I cannot recommend it enough. The view of Pike Place was a bonus. See website for hours, menu, and more.

Yelp
My visit to Conversation was unplanned, and I'm so glad that it ended up happening because WOW what a great experience! Seattle traffic was doing it's thing, and my drive home was set to take two hours. How about.... no. Decided to wait out the worst of it and enjoy dinner with a few Yelp friends after an event nearby. Probably would've never visited here otherwise so I'm glad we were forced to enjoy dinner here! The vibe is on the casual side while still being swanky and a good spot for a date night. Service was kind and quick as well which is always appreciated. Enjoyed a couple of glasses of a Pinot Grigio that was delicious. We skipped any appetizers and went straight for entrees - I got the Lamb Bolognese and when I tell you this is one of the best pastas I've had in the Seattle area, I mean it! Sooo much flavor and everything was cooked to perfection. I normally am not able to clean my plate at most restaurants, but the serving size was just enough to make me a taaaad too full because I pushed myself to eat it all. It was that good. A couple of my fellow diners had the Wagyu Burger and they both sang praises for it several times. I'm delighted to have Conversation on my radar now. Would return in a heartbeat for dinner when I'm in the area again! I saw that they have brunch as well which is now on my list to indulge in eventually.

Yelp
This was the perfect place for breakfast in downtown Seattle! My friend and I were visiting the Market and got hungry. We didn't want to eat at Pike Place because it was sooo busy. Surprisingly this restaurant was so quiet and empty. I believe it is apart of a hotel, but the general public can enter through the street. Our server was the sweetest ever and took great care of us! The restaurant itself was very cozy and dimly lit - they even had couches on the seat when we sat down. I had the bagel sandwich which was delicious, with thick cut bacon. The coffee was also amazing!

Yelp
Had the opportunity to have breakfast twice here at Conversation while staying at the Thompson Seattle. Nice ambiance with the southern corner of the restaurant near window having nice view of the Sound. Other parts of the restaurant don't necessarily have a view but the decor and vibe inside is quite nice. Staff are friendly and very helpful. Had the steel cut oats twice because they were so good. Fresh berries with a light maple syrup glaze overlying the oats provide nice but not overwhelming sweetness to the dish. My wife had the salmon Benedict and said it was delicious. Coffee was delicious. Pricing was actually not too bad for a hotel restaurant. As Thompson is a part of Hotel Collection through Amex Platinum, you receive $60 per day for breakfast and both of us together including tip (no alcohol) and we stayed well within that. Give them a try whether you're staying at Thompson or in Pike Place Market area of downtown looking for a nice place to brunch.

Yelp
Great bar/restaurant with a great vibe. We stopped in here to get a block or two off the busy Pike Place Market crowds and found a perfect spot. Part of the Thompson hotel, they offer brunch on the weekend and we enjoyed a nice late Sunday breakfast. Our server was quick to get our order for some mimosas, and then we ordered our breakfast. I had the two egg breakfast. I had it with bacon, breakfast potatoes and sourdough toast. It was all delicious, especially with a side of their habanero hot sauce. Can't wait to come back here.

Yelp
The aptly named Conversation was perfect for our first night back in Seattle, a reunion dinner with friends, and the catching up bound to follow. Great drinks before jumping right into dinner. Between the table we had the King Salmon, Rigatoni Pasta, and a 14oz New York Strip Steak.

Yelp
Conversation is a restaurant in the Thompson Hyatt. It is beautifully designed and is located on the street level. The breakfast menu has about five entrees. I ordered the avocado toast which came with a poached egg which was a nice touch and sufficiently filling. Staff were pleasant and kept my coffee cup full. It is not a cheap breakfast but if you want something upscale with good service this is a good place.
google avatar

Yelp
Nice atmosphere, great food and service was very good.. I would eat here again... I wanted crab Benedict... it wasn't on the menu but they said they would make it for me!

Yelp
Melissa was a fantastic host for our family. We were looking for a brunch spot and saw conversation. We were pleasantly surprised!! it was so modern and refreshing, we loved the vibe!

Yelp
Located inside of the Thompson hotel, we stopped in for a late breakfast. Place was pretty empty on a Friday - no lines. Service was good, the place looked chic and fancy and had low music playing in the background. Looks like more of a dinner option than breakfast. Food was decent, we ordered a couple eggs Benedict's and the waffle.

Yelp
This 1st time eating at the restaurant left me with the impression that I'd discovered a hidden gem. The location, atmosphere, and service were to my liking. The menu, especially the deserts were the stars. Unfortunately, the menu has changed since then.

Yelp
Made a reservation for 8:45pm on a weekend. Not very packed and luckily found side street parking quick. Staff are exceptional. Very nice and attentive. Not very satisfied with 2 scallops for $30. They were mid at best. The ribeye steak was decent; tender at some pieces and tough at others (medium rare). The bread appetizer really saved the day - crunchy and chewy texture with lemon butter and garlic pieces. Dark and cozy environment! Perfect for date nights. Bar looked very big but empty. Wouldn't come back but great place to try out. Get the bread!

Yelp
Came here to celebrate my 31st birthday. Burger was a huge miss and 50% of our table ordered it-just didn't have much flavor, the presentation was deceiving. They were also charging $7 a person for slicing our small homemade cake, so it would have been an additional $91. No thank you. Highlights-cocktails, scallops, and pork belly were all tasteful and the service/ambiance was great. Would probably come again for happy hour drinks and light bites.

Yelp
Staff: The whole staff was friendly. We were helped by Carlo who took good care of. He was friendly, attentive, and very forth coming with how the tip system works in Seattle which I appreciated. Quality/Quantity: The food was really good. I had the Wagyu Smash Burger which was huge, juicy, flavorful, and overall a success. It had a potato paddy on the side which was like cheesy hash browns which was unique but good. My friend grabbed the salmon which he said was really good. Both of us had some type of space named beer that was on tap which was good. Value: pricey but the quality and ambiance more than made up for it. Overall: I really liked this spot. I'd be back again for sure.

Yelp
You will not leave hungry! For a hotel restaurant on 2nd that is a rare find. I would rate this a 4 but we had an issue with the prices on the menu not matching our bill which was very sus but quickly fixed by the staff. The highlights: My old fashioned was fantastic and if the same bartender is on staff for happy hour I'll have a new spot to add to my list. The bean dip was tasty and plentiful to the point where I ran out of veggies. The roasted chicken was well prepared with good flavor and crispy skin. It says it serves 2, and that may be true, but I eat a lot and for $34 it was more than enough food for just me. Their menu is very gluten and celiac friendly and their staff were attentive to that fact as well. The good: My husband had the pork, pasta and soup. All were good, his only issue was the menu description. The pasta said squash and it ended up being pattypan which he isn't a fan of. It also had extra oil added which wasn't necessary. The pork and soup had great flavor especially the pork and jam combo. The sus: I didn't notice it but the bill came back higher than expected. My husband looked it over and we were charged the wrong prices for 3 of the menu items. The menu said $15 for the pork and on the bill it was $18. The staff apologized and fixed the issue which was that the prices on the menu don't match the prices in their computer system. I was told they recently updated the menu and those changes may have not made it into the system properly and that they will let the GM know so hopefully that happens. Do be diligent about checking each line item!

Yelp
5/5 for Martha, makes my girlfriend and I feel very welcome and is very helpful when navigating the menu, she is fantastic everytime. Unfortunately, they have just changed their menu and we just do not like it as much as the previous one. The ribs and shrimp on the last menu were absolute stars of the show, sadly they do not have anything like it on this new menu. Kinda seems like a light summer type of menu, when I wish it was more of a warm, comfort type of menu, especially going into the winter.

Yelp
Ambiance: Made a reservation on a Saturday Night, honestly wasn't needed the place was pretty empty only a few tables. The service was quick and all the staff were nice and welcoming. Our server was Josh, he was attentive and friendly. They do add on a "20% Gratuity" no matter the party size it's automatically added Food: I got the Rigatoni, it was creamy and rich. Had a pesto taste and did not disappoint - you can add protein if you want, however I didn't My finance got the Bourbon Glazed Pork Belly - the Pork Belly itself was very tasty! Comes with 4 slices. the cream around the pork belly is sweet. To me it tasted like cinnamon I wasn't a huge fan but my fiancé loved it Drinks: i ordered the Pear Mule which was made well and came in BEAUTIFUL copper cup and pretty good size My fiancé ordered the wine for $11/glass which is the only thing I would NOT RECOMMEND the wine comes in a tiny little taster and you get maybe like 2 - 3 sips it seems equivalent to taking a shot of wine lol Other than the tiny little wine glass we had a great experience
google avatar

Josh R.

Yelp
The only thing I ordered was an espresso martini. It was good, but crazy overpriced. They automatically add a 20% service fee to all bills, so my total came out to $31.75 for one cocktail. That's more than they charge for cocktails in NYC.
google avatar

Yelp
I wanted to like this place - Menu looked good, I liked the vibe and food pics on their Instagram. But...ordered a burger medium rare, got something well done. Wife ordered the salmon...it was cooked but...mushy? Sorta like it hadn't been defrosted correctly and then steam cooked or something. Very strange. Service was...weird. We liked one server (slightly older woman), but there was another server, as well as the host taking orders and serving us. But not communicating with each other. So more than once we'd tell one person we wanted something, and five minutes after nothing happened, someone else would check in and we'd tell them what we told the other person. We didn't finish either of our mains. This usually prompts the staff to ask if things were OK when clearing our plates. Not here - not a word. I wanted to like the place - perhaps I'll give it another try some day. But at the moment I've filed it under "just another mediocre hotel restaurant."
google avatar

Marjorie L.

Yelp
This was such a lovely spot for my best friend and I to catch up! The overall vibe was super chill, the staff were really helpful.
google avatar

Yelp
A little pricey but breakfast was so good. The waiters are so welcome and great at holding conversation. Service was excellent. I love the decor. Very industrial.
google avatar

Yelp
pretty good ambiance, nice staff but the saddest drinks. Def does not deserve its price! old fashioned barely had anything in the glass
google avatar

Cindy Z.

Yelp
Had such a good dinner here trying their new menu! Everything was great but we especially loved the roasted oysters, chile butter shrimp, and the eggplant lasagna - yum. Also thought the potato cakes were excellent (ate them too fast so forgot to photograph!) Can't wait to come back and try more

Yelp
Came for brunch with friends and it was surprisingly easy to get a table for 8 on a Saturday at noon...and now we know why The menu looked good so we ordered the Lox and Eggs Benedict - the highlights were the side of potatoes and the grapefruit mimosa. Eggs bennies were decent at best and weren't expecting the lox bagel to require assembly. Probably not coming back for the food Positive: The atmosphere is really comfortable and the service was courteous, nice, and quick with the food - the open kitchen is really cool to watch Negative: brunch food that doesn't meet expectations set by price
google avatar

Christina C.

Yelp
As a local in Seattle that seen this restaurant before pandemic I can assure that unfortunately the high price doesn't match the quality you are getting at this restaurant. First of all menu is very very small and extremely overpriced. Unless you just want to get burger and beer you are fine, but don't expect culinary experience like it was before. First of all my bees knees cocktail was extremely bitter, I tried it in many restaurants and I never had such a bad version of it. Ceviche that came in a cup with local tortilla chips that were so hard that was impossible to eat. We made a comment to our waiter about that but seems like he ignored it. My fish was soaking in extremely untasty sauce and so many fava beans that were half raw. I don't understand this pairing to such a nice delicate slice of fish. The only good thing was dessert. But overall for $200 dinner we were very disappointed.

Yelp
I wrote a detailed, lengthy review that somehow disappeared, so now I will keep this Conversation short. Attractive place with inventive menu, city view, and great service. However. BREAKFAST. The waffle was boring, and I didn't even finish my bagel sandwich, but the coffee was so horrible that we didn't bother eating there the second day, even with a free food credit. And that's my favorite kind of food. Not breakfast, but free. DINNER. The wedge salad was tiny and underdressed, the truffle fries and pesto pasta was good, as was the short rib, though it had inedible pickled something instead of potatoes. Yet. For a "fancy" place, the cocktails were unforgivably weak (why bother ordering a second) and the bad lighting was uncomfortably bright.
google avatar

Assal M.

Yelp
Made a reservation way in advance. Once we were ready to be seated, hostess asked me to move to the side before sitting so she could fill my water glass. Took a while until somebody came to take our order. A few of my friends ordered wine to which the waitress said "we are out of clean wine glasses, so glasses will look different". Not sure we needed that information. We waited another 45 minutes for her to come back to take our order. Food coming out did not take that long. Food was okay. Not anything special. Dessert was ridiculous. We ordered the crumble but it was mostly compote. I inquired about it and they said "yes, we use a light crumble". Prices, especially for cocktails are a joke. Will absolutely never go back. What a waste of precious time.
google avatar

Steven M.

Yelp
Great dinner spot with a contemporary, high-end atmosphere. Service was A+. Food served piping hot. Had a dinner here with work colleagues - every bite was delicious.
google avatar

Lily P.

Yelp
Attentive service and (imo) yummyyy truffle fries. But you're paying for the fancy ambience. For the price point of the entrees, they are just okay! A bit too expensive for me to come back

Yelp
I made a (well pre-planned) dinner reservation for New Year's Eve 12/31 on Open Table. They had two options available for booking - (1) the prefixed-price special NYE menu and (2) standard regular menu dining. We selected the latter. On 12/22 I received email confirmation for our reservation from the Food and Beverage Coordinator. It explicitly says, "Please note; Currently your reservation is just for regular dinner service..." which is what we wanted. However, today I received a phone call only a couple days before New Year's, and was told the chefs decided to change the dinner options to only include the prefixed special NYE menu. This is not what we originally booked - or what was also originally confirmed. I asked when this decision was made, the reply from correspondent (who will not be named) was, "A few days ago." This means they had a week to contact customers with standard dinner reservations to make them aware of the change but they waited until last minute to do so. Now it being only a couple of days from NYE, other restaurants are fully booked - leaving us with little to no options. Of course, we'll be able to pivot our plans, but the customer service we received was incredibly unfortunate. She never mentioned anything like, "We're sorry for the inconvenience," or "Here's what we can do for you as a result of this change..." or even "We hope for an opportunity to serve you at our restaurant in the future..." This would have been our first time dining at Conversation - unfortunately, we will not be considering this restaurant again in the future.

Leslie F.

Yelp
Great restaurant for a date I was not too hungry so I ordered the mushrooms, leek soup, bread and the Queen Bee. All were delicious. However, the best dish was the rhubarb cobbler. It was not too sweet and was served warme with vanilla ice cream.
google avatar

Michelle T.

Yelp
Terrific Breakfast/ Brunch food at Conversation set in the lobby of the Thompson Hotel. The decor is contemporary and chic. The service was kind and courteous. We dined here two mornings in a row and both times we had exceptional service. The food was delicious. I had the steel-cut oats both days with lots of fresh fruit. Overall, this was a great place to eat and I would definitely like to try out their dinner fare sometime.
google avatar

Max L.

Yelp
We came for brunch on Christmas, and while I understand it is a difficult day to find a spot to eat, this restaurant was also very empty. Long story short the hostess declined to seat us - the kitchen was closing - and me and my wife settled at the bar for 2 beers. Unfortunately two other couples checked in after us and they were served brunch right in front of us. Unacceptable and very very poor customer service. The kitchen is either closed for everyone or open. Distasteful service.
google avatar

Yelp
We had two missions when we chose Conversation. The first was to visit Chopped Champion and Executive Chef Kaleena Bliss and taste her award-winning dishes. The second was to continue our New Year resolution of dining at restaurants new to us. The first mission was almost accomplished. We had an excellent meal topped off with the Chopped winning desert, Dark Chocolate Custard. Yes, the charcuterie board was enjoyable, the braised short ribs were fabulous, and the lamb/beef Bolognese hit the spot; however, the Dark Chocolate Custard was pure heaven. The only miss was Chef Bliss was not in the restaurant :( I should have called ahead. Don't worry, everything else was top notch. The staff was great, extra attention due to the light crowd. The second mission of choosing new restaurants is a fun way to try out all of the culinary locations in greater Seattle/Bellevue area. Yes, I recommend. Yes, I will be back.

Yelp
Great ambiance and delicious food! I was staying near the convention center...I would take N Uber next time at night.
google avatar

Amanda N.

Yelp
Server definitely was giving energy that they did not want to be there that night, so I did feel it impacted our experience. Maybe it should have been a sign that we were the only party in on a Saturday night? Food was fine but I don't think I would return again.
google avatar

Frances H.

Yelp
Coffee and ambience is amazing. Menu was very limited though. If you're wanting to people watch and drink coffee, this is a great place to go.
google avatar

Inna R.

Yelp
Right in the heart of downtown Seattle, which means parking can be tough but I was able to find paid street parking pretty close by. The restaurant is filled with plants and a ton of natural lightening. I came here for a birthday brunch on a Saturday morning and they can accommodate larger groups very well. There was about 15 of us in a room in the back and we were comfortable and able to hear each other back there. Docking a star because they do have gluten free options but the portion of my avocado toast compared to the one that was not gluten free was nearly half. The service was good , the food took sometime to come out but nothing unreasonable due to a larger group.
google avatar

Deborah C.

Yelp
Came here because we stayed at the Thompson for the weekend and wanted to get brunch before our afternoon flight. Made a reservation for a party of two for 9am on a Monday, which really wasn't necessary for a Monday morning, as there were only three or four tables occupied. The service was friendly and our food came out relatively quickly. We ordered the Brunch & Booze, which is a choice of two entrees and a carafe of orange or grapefruit mimosa. We ordered the Belgian Waffle and Salmon Benedict to split. It was a good amount of food and we drank maybe half of the carafe. For $60, it feels expensive, but someone who really enjoys a good mimosa might appreciate it more. The space is beautiful and the food was delicious. Not sure if it's worth coming back though, especially since our meal was covered by our hotel credit, but it was definitely a good experience.

Yelp
Our visit was one to remember. Hyatt always goes above and beyond. We appreciated the service we received, so welcoming. Mahalo nui!

Yelp
Seated quickly and the staff was very polite. Lovely interior, everything was neat and sanitary. We were served by Micheal and he was great. The food was wonderful and the portion sizes were generous. Best scrambled eggs I've ever had!

JH B.

Yelp
My wife and I recently had a meal here as part of restaurant week. We arrived early so had a pre meal appetizer and drink. According to my wife in spite of it not being served in a copper mug her Kentucky mule was excellent. We shared the charcuterie board of cheeses meats olives and pickled vegetables. All very good. For our supper we wanted to move to a different table and the wait staff were very accommodating. The Chianti we had with dinner was less than charming but drinkable. For our first course we shared leek soup and beet salad. For our main meal we both selected the New York strip. It was perfectly prepared on the rare side of medium rare. Delicious although a bit on the tough side. The dessert was a HUGE piece of chocolate cake. We ended up with take home boxes of nearly everything. All of the staff were accommodating but not overbearing.

Yelp
Excellent food, great atmosphere. Attended brunch with a party of four. Service was good.

Yelp
A great weekend brunch spot if you don't have a rsvp or want to wait in long lines near pike place market. Would recommend the eggs Benedict! The menu is pretty small and have tried almost everything here. Expect slow service on weekends.
google avatar

Yelp
Happened upon this place when we came to the Moore theater. We wanted somewhere to have a nice quiet brunch before the show. This place did not disappoint. Service was amazing, ambiance was inviting and comfortable and food was scrumptious and reasonably priced. Highly recommend and will surely be back.
google avatar

Steve W.

Yelp
Typically I'm not a fan of restaurants inside of hotels because the food quality for the price is usually not good. Conversation flipped that idea on its head. The service was good, our waitress was knowledgeable in the menu and paid just the right amount of attention to our group. While they had just changed the menu that day, and taken off the halibut I wanted, the food was great. I had the salmon and it was perfectly cooked and had great flavor. Two of my friends had the half chicken and they said it too was yummy. We all got desserts, two slices of pumpkin cake and two creme brulees with a cranberry compote. All of the desserts were excellent and had that Thanksgiving vibe to them. Would definitely come back!

Yelp
Came for brunch and it's a nice restaurant in Seattle near Pike Place Market. They have standard brunch items but if you like crab, there is a dungeness crab benedict. The sausage and gravy is a good choice as well. I would recommend making reservation if coming on the weekend for brunch. Service was good.
