Yelp
Convivio lives up to its name - it is a beautiful gathering place and has so much heart that takes it from a cool concept to a genuine experience.
The nitty gritty - This would be a perfect place to meet your caffeine and work/study needs. Tons of gorgeous natural light, plenty of tasty drink combos and cozy seating that somehow feels spacious. And great quality coffee that's connected to its roots.
When I went in early December the barristas seemed to be new and were struggling to stay on top of the orders, so if you're wanting a quick drink to-go this might not the place, but if you're not in a hurry and wanting a place b to linger than feels special where you can sip and study and also feel seen, then Convivió is where it's at.
The Magic - You know the Maya Angelou quote about people not remembering what you said, but they'll remember how you made them feel? Well, I can't exactly remember what I ordered, (maybe a dulce de leche latte?) but I can tell you how I felt upon my singular visit. The spirit of this place was warm, welcoming, loving and intentional. Since the barristas were running behind, I was given the gift of observing the place in action, namely the owner who is clearly a genuinely kind and delightful soul.
She put so much love into everything she did. A genuine smile graced her face as she floated about, connecting with customers, clearing dishes, making a little mug sleeve out of napkins the little boy sipping his hot cocoa, and even when encouraging her staff to pick up the pace, she did it with such grace and cheerfulness that it didn't feel
awkward or tense.
In our disconnected world her effort to make every interaction personal was truly beautiful to watch... I texted a friend that I had just observed a "Latina Kathleen Kelly" (Meg Ryan's character in You've Got Mail.)
Maybe you just want a pretty place work, and my review is hyperbolic, but I suppose I just wanted to call out the beauty I saw. I hope she keeps the magic going and that she transmits tor vision to her staff so that everyone experience the kindness I got to witness. It's the kind of thing that could change the world.
