Rockville Is Getting a Cooper’s Hawk Winery | Eater DC

"I learned Cooper’s Hawk Winery & Restaurants is moving into Rockville’s Research Row development, where its Rockville winery will occupy a sprawling 12,392 square feet. If it’s anything like the outpost in Reston, I expect it to combine a tasting room, restaurant, and retail market under one roof; the chain serves its own wines and menu items such as gnocchi Bolognese with braised short ribs and Nashville-style hot chicken accompanied by mac and cheese. The company is currently hiring for the Rockville location and has posted online job ads." - Adele Chapin

This would be the first but not the last time I’m visiting this amazing place. The experience was one of casual fine dining. From the front door to the wine tasting, all the way to the dining service was breathtaking. Speaking of the service, I had the privilege of meeting Chef Skylar and being served by Douglas. Those two made sure that my dining experience was meet with confidence and perfect pairing of the wines and food. All the food suggestions were on point and none of them let me and my guest down. I suggest that if you are going to visit, make sure you find out how you can become a wine member. That definitely elevates the experience. I will be back to try new spirits and new food. Thank you Chef, Douglas, and the whole Cooper’s Hawk staff for making this experience memorable.

My wife and I stole some free time today after unloading the kids on my inlaws, and we decided to stop in for a late lunch and pick up some wines at Cooper's Hawk. Aside from having some fantastic wine, I ate what had to be one of the best meals I have ever had here.....the gnocchi bolognese with brisket...it was on the seasonal menu....why? This should be a featured item on your regular menu! Maybe you would tire of it if you ate it all the time, but man was that good! It is very much in the comfort food category, but it was so good, we ordered one to go so we could have it again at the house! The service was superb as well. Aryanna did a fantastic job taking care of us and making us feel like we are among the elite! Keep up the good work and look forward to our next visit!

I've been going to this Coopers Hawk location since it opened and go there regularly because I'm a CH member. I've been to many CH locations and this is by far my favorite! I love the large tasting area, service and food. The service at this location has been the best, specifically because of Ary who is my favorite server. She gives you a WONDERFUL experience dining at the restaurant from the minute you sit down. She's knowledgeable about the wines and food and goes above and beyond to meet all of your needs. The most recent time I was there. She was attentive as always even despite being very busy and made sure our food was to our liking as well as our wine. I've gone to other CH restaurants and the food wasn't quite the same in taste. This locations cooks seemed to be the best! I've brought my mom, boyfriend and friends to this location and they all LOVED it and said they prefer the Rockville location and Ary and raved about her excellent service. I've experienced other really great servers at the restaurant but Ary is by far the best because she gives all around top tier service and gets to know what you like in order to provide you with food and wine pairing recommendations. I highly recommend this restaurant and Ary and will definitely be back soon!

Google
The service and atmosphere were great, but unfortunately, the food was a letdown. The dishes we ordered for brunch were extremely salty, which made them difficult to enjoy. I'm guessing this might be to complement the restaurant's own wines.

Google
Fun wine tasting entry makes all the difference. The somalie helping us was amazing, allowing us to try their top wines and they were all great and some creative. Unfortunately but I didn't have luggage space to bring them back. We had a great buzz time 😁 The restaurant was clean and modern and the food portions were generous. It's a nice spot to hang out!

Breana M.

Google
For brunch, they offer their full menu plus and additional brunch so there are plenty of breakfast, lunch, and even dinner entrees available. Everything we tried was outstanding: bacon wrapped shrimp, calamari, jambalaya, breakfast brisket hash, chicken giardiniera, chicken risotto, breakfast gnocchi carbonara

Google
I've been to this location a couple of times. In 2023 I did wine tasting and dinner with a friend for her birthday. That is when I joined the wine club. I visited this past Saturday to do wine tasting and brunch with friends. I didn't realize they have a brunch menu. The food was really good. Wine tasting is always a good time. I went at 1130 to do wine tasting and brunch was reserved for 12pm. After a few hours the tasting area was packed. Glad I went earlier in the day. I had the brunch sangria pitcher, hash, and donuts. Can't remember what my friend ordered. Something with shrimp. Dessert was also delicious. Great service both times.

Michael M.

Google
Great experience. Server (Matt?) was pleasant, comfortable, and caring. He blessed us with 2 free glasses of wine to celebrate an anniversary! Pretzel candied pork was good. Jambalaya was good. Neither were the best food ever, but both were good! Sat outside on an 80f evening, the awning/umbrellas do not shade the evening sun. No fans. Was comfortable enough for us though! The entrance through their wine store is odd and uncomfortable in my opinion.

Yelp
I had the pleasure of dining at Cooper's Hawk in Rockville for the first time. I had dined at the Annapolis location before but I am pleased to say that my experience at the Rockville location was even nicer than in Annapolis thanks to Ms. Penney. This hostess was warm, genuine, and so accommodating! Her kind smile and melodious voice made me forget all about the long drive back to Bowie that awaited me. Kudos to Cooper's Hawk for having the good sense to employ "Ms. Penney"!

Kimberly C.

Yelp
My family and I had brunch back in March and enjoyed a wine tasting. Services for brunch was great. Our wine tasting experience was not as great. We had high hopes for a future experience in the wine tasting as we enjoyed the wine and signed up for the wine club. We returned in May and was served by Clarissa in the wine tasting room and had a great experience! We also had a great experience with Alana at the truffle counter where we purchased a few items. Both these ladies were amazing and were very attentive and were very knowledgeable!

Yelp
Love Cooper's Hawk! This location was my first CH experience and this is still my favorite years later. I've attended a few birthday celebrations and every experience has always been great! I recently attended my first wine club dinner, "Under the Western Stars" and it was such a good time. I'm not missing the next one. These dinners get sold out and I can see why! One of the menu items had chorizo. I let them know in advance that I don't eat pork and they were very accommodating and allowed me to substitute another side. They were very generous with the wine pours. They raffled off some wines. I will continue to visit this location! Cheers!

Yelp
The service here was very friendly and the food was good! For appetizer were ordered the crispy Brussels sprouts and a very good flatbread. For the entrees we ordered, a vegetarian butternut gnocchi which was flavored nicely with some sage! Chicken medirá with veggies, a short rib with some smashed potatoes (highly recommend), jambalaya with shrimp. And a creamy risotto. For dessert we ordered a carrot cake and a s'mores layered cup. Both were really good. For drinks my brother in law ordered a flight. And for myself I ordered a Merlot. When I got the wine originally it tasted good like a Merlot. But my second glass tasted like a different wine (like a red blend or malbec). When I asked the server (this was a different server since the first one was getting off they switched shifts) he said that it was the same one. But I know it wasn't. So either the bartender mixed the bottle up or something happened there. Anyways, the food was very good!

Yelp
The food is always on point and the wine and cocktails are delicious. Food selection is extensive - regardless whether you are vegetarian, pescatarian, or gluten free there is something for you. Servers are friendly and accommodating always providing suggestions.

Yelp
The food and seevice are always good. If they could find a way to cut down on the noise, it would be darn near perfect.

Yelp
This is an updated review since it's been almost a year since we visited Coopers Hawk. This time we sat near the bar and the ambiance was just as nice as in the main dining area. The food is still consistently great, as was the service. We ordered the crab bisque (really good) the arancini in basil pesto sauce (from bar menu and delicious), Parmesan crusted mahi (w/extra mashed potatoes, surf and turf (churrasco/shrimp) and gnocchi a la vodka. All our dishes were really delicious and we were so happy! Our server was attentive and made great suggestions. We need to come here more often!

Yelp
This was first time going here for dinner. Upon entering, we weren't sure where to go as you walk into a huge wine bar area without signage for host station, but we found it on the far wall through a large crowd at standing tables. The hostess was very nice and took us to our reserved table shortly after we checked in. Our waiter Nam was very good, greeted us and asked that important question, "have you dined here before". When we said "no" he explained about the restaurant, the wines, which they are known for (we were not aware) and the menu, both what he recommended as well as the specials. 2 of us ordered Chilean Sea Bass off the specials menu, sounded very good, but we felt it was pricey! The Bass was tasty in the miso infused sauce, but serving fish at room temperature (if that) was a bit off putting for both of us. My friend felt his was not fully cooked, but that could have been because it wasn't hot. Mine seemed fully cooked, but to be honest, the BEST part of the dish was the Jasmine rice and the very small portion of vegetables. My husband had the Chicken Piccata which he loved. Good portion, well priced and pasta was cooked nicely. He definitely would order again. Pricing of tea and coke were also little high, so make sure you order refills to get money worth All in all, we'd return and I'd like to try something different for sure.

Yelp
I like coming to this restaurant. Usually the food/drinks I get have always been good. This visit was no exception. We got here early one weekend afternoon - the lot was partially filled, but the area of the restaurant we were seated in only had (I would say) two other parties at the time and it was almost empty. However, within 40 minutes that whole section was packed. I started off with a glass of Lux Ice Wine, but after my first sip, I decided to get the bottle instead (it was a celebration and I thought, why not). The bottle was served in a thick steel canister that kept my wine chilled for sure. If you like sweet wines, you should try the Ice wine. I had tasted it on a prior visit, and it became one of my favorites here. For food, I got the Red Wine Braised Short Ribs. The menu describes it as being served with Oven-Roasted Vegetables, Mary's Potatoes, Grainy Dijon Mustard Butter, and Crispy Onion Strings. I didn't ask how or what Mary's Potatoes were and didn't let mustard or onion strings stop me from eating this meal. I knew most of my plate was empty afterwards, so it must have been good. Our waiter was Gregory, and his service, attention, and pleasantness is another reason I would come back here (besides the food/drink). He provided excellent service. Visited December 2024

Yelp
I met a friend for a working lunch last week Thursday. Based on food alone, I would've rated higher because everything we tasted was delicious. It was relatively quiet during the lunch rush, and we had plenty of space to eat and work. It's a neat concept because they have a tasting room in the front and dining in the back. They also try to sell you on their wine club membership, which is reasonable at only a little over $20 per month. My rating is based mostly on the service. When I initially arrived, service was good because I had minimal requests while waiting for my friend to join me. However, there wasn't enough follow up from our waitress and she failed to get the check correct after several tries. I also requested pretzel bread to go and never received it. Overall, I enjoyed the food and the free wine tasting, so I would try this restaurant again.

Yelp
My sister and I came to the Rockville location to try out the Brunch & Bubbles. Let me start by saying the Brisket Hash is delicious! Our server Canaan really took care of us and was very attentive! The environment was laid back and we met some amazing people!

Yelp
Wanted to update my review to talk about the brunch! I was so excited to see that Cooper Hawk, one of my favorite places, started having brunch because I am a lady who brunches. It was fairly empty when I went so I had a great experience. I got the Raspberry Bellini which was nice and refreshing for a brunch. I also got the Salted Caramel Doughnuts which were AMAZING. I also got the Creme Brulee French Toast, which was good but very sweet. I would suggest that if you want either of these, you should get them separately and not together since both were so sweet. I would also suggest getting bacon or something salty to balance out the sweetness. I only removed one star because while I had a great experience, my waitress seemed to not understand a few of the asks we had.

Yelp
We went to this restaurant for dinner and it was such a great experience! The food was absolutely amazing -- my dish (Dana's Parmesan-Crusted Chicken )was so delicious. The place was very clean and well-organized, and the staff were incredibly helpful and polite. Definitely planning to go back again! Thank you all

Yelp
Another five-star experience! Went with my in-laws for a rating and luckily had reservations for dinner after for a party of 6. That morning the hostess called to confirm our reservations and ask about high chairs, wine tasking plans, and provided tips for timeliness. Wine tasting was busy, standing room only, no stools out this busy Saturday night. Despite the crowd, and it apparently being only her second Saturday shift, Abigail was great & attentive. We had checked in with the hostess after we started our tasting (based on the tips from the call earlier that day) and was told to take our time with our tasting and our reservation would be waiting for us whenever we were ready. Which was great cause we weren't ready until nearly 40 mins after our reservation time. After some hefty tasting pours leaving us with a good buzz, we sat for diner. Rochelle was attentive and worked hard that night in the bustling dining room. We'd just had filets the night prior, so while that would have been our go-to here, we tried new things. Dana's chicken was decent, but the potato casserole thing that came with it was amazing! My daughter added salmon to the risotto and it was delish! My hubby had the steak medallions and they were ok, he should have just gotten a full fillet really. We'll definitely go back. The wine tasting experience is great and feels different each time. I'm sure some of the wines were different than I had last time, but I have the memory of a goldfish!

Yelp
We came in for lunch and started with a wine tasting. For a small fee (I can't remember -it is 12-15$) you can try 8 wines of the month that are preselected at the wine bar. Everything was great! We started with the bruschetta which was delicious. I had the potstickers and chopped wedge as my entree which are always great there. My friends enjoyed the vegetable enchiladas and mahi sandwich. They have a unique dessert called banoffie pie - it doesn't sound like much but it is quite delicious!!

Yelp
Food *CILANTRO RANCH CHICKEN SANDWICH wasn't worth it. I was pretending to try to be healthy and I rather eat yummier food and deal with the calories later. It wasn't bad, just not exciting. *PRIME CHURRASCO GRILLED STEAK was delicious. Service *Greeted and sat by the wonderful KALYA. Super pleasant person. *MARIO is absolutely amazing! Will certainly come back for him and the food. Ambiance *Solid place to go. Relaxing feel that visit as well as all other experiences at this venue.

Yelp
Brunch&Bubbles..Caramel donuts were delicious. The butter cream is so good. We ordered coffee and raspberry Bellinis to get us started. I often get their Prosecco to take home. Sunny side eggs and gnocchi or smoked hash. We had both and could not decide which was our favorite. The food here is always spot on.

Yelp
It was "The Trifecta ", great company, fabulous service, and delicious food. I had watched a reel about Cooper's Hawk Wineries new mid afternoon menu and I wanted to give them a try. We ordered from both menus and they were both enticing. First, they start you off with a loaf of pretzel bread and creamy fresh butter. It was fresh, warm out of the oven, with the perfect amount of salt. And, the creamy butter was pure perfection! Next, we ordered two appetizers from the mid afternoon menu. We ordered the tempura shrimp appetizer and the smoked salmon dip. My favorite was the tempura shrimp appetizer. The batter was nice, light, and crunchy. The shrimp were large and tasty. It was served with a spicy Asian slaw. The smoked salmon dip was good, but the portion size was small. It just wasn't an appetizer designed for sharing. I have to thank Rochelle! She was our awesome server and gave sage advice. She recommended my raspberry sangria, which was the bomb. We both ordered salads. I ordered the Caesar salad with skirt steak. It was a huge portion and the steak was grilled perfectly. If I had to pick on one thing, I would say that the Caesar dressing could use an upgrade. Our other salad was a chicken salad on a wedge of lettuce. It had bacon, blue cheese, and tomatoes. This salad could have used some additional chicken. The real show stopper was our dessert. The s'mores dessert was Amazing! The caramel mousse, the chocolate mousse, graham crackers, and loaded with melted marshmallows.....need I say more! It was delicate, rich, and satisfying! A smile in every bite. Cooper's Hawk Winery has decor filled with rich woods and traditional style. The time passed quickly when the conversation flows and the food is great! Thanks Cooper's Hawk Winery.

Yelp
The food was delicious, I had the sirlion steak, my Sorors had a variety of different fish and vegetarian options, and everybody was happy. The service was impeccable, he went he on to make recommendations which we all loved down to the last bite of the desert. It was a nice evening out all around. Go!

Yelp
This is my first time at Cooper's Hawk me and my family went there to celebrate my sister's birthday. When we entered the restaurant we immediately was seated, Who was immediately say eat the restaurant was beautiful. The host was so nice & accommodating the appetizer that we ordered was delicious. We was a little bit disappointed when we ordered our food. The plate was hot but the food was not. I picked this restaurant because of the reviews that i read for make an hour reservation. I really wanted this experience to be amazing. And it was but when it came to our food we was disappointment.

Yelp
This is a hidden gem in Rockville! I've been a few times to the wine bar (love their generous pours) but this was the first time I had a meal and it was delicious! We started with a wine tasting first and I went with 8 white wines of my choice which was a great way to start off. After that, we grabbed dinner and the service was very attentive! I ordered the roasted chicken risotto and it was well seasoned and delicious. I finished the entire dish in one sitting (which is unusual for me). Also tried the flatbread which was excellent. Will definitely be back to try more dishes in the future!

Yelp
I had fond memories of this restaurant before COVID. However, when I returned recently, I was sorely disappointed. It started with the waiter trying to push a sale of wine and the wine club on me. I politely declined, and maybe that set us off on the wrong foot. Service was luke warm afterwards, and the waiter never returned to our table until I got his attention to come back and give us some more water and take away the bread board which sat empty for some time. When the food arrived, it tasted off due to the level of service we had experienced. And this continued throughout our meal. I heard our waiter joke around with those around us, but he never stopped at our table more than a couple of seconds when he had to. It's just too bad because the atmosphere is really good. Maybe we're just not a fit for this restaurant.

Yelp
We had an amazing time for our Christmas Eve lunch. Patty was our service and she was amazing. The food was really good. Our selections included the calamari which was different- like a tempura. The egg rolls had that southwestern flavor. The braised short ribs -- dense, thick and flavorful. The strip steak was cooked to perfection. We also had shrimp scampi and I didn't hear any complaints from the 2 persons who had it. One was with drunken shrimp. There was a hugh burger at the table which was devoured. The pork chop with pretzel topping was good. They give you pretzel bread and butter which is interesting. Again, good food and vibes. We will return.

Yelp
This was my first visit, and I was not disappointed. At the main entrance, you are immediately at the wine tasting area as well as the check-in area. Bar setting and dining both indoor and outdoor. If you sit at the bar, you are given the wine club pitch to join their wine memberships and benefit. I'm a sucker for good wine, so I'll join a wine club to reap the benefits to drink more wine. The bartenders are great, very friendly, and attentive. Their HH menu food items are amazing and priced reasonably. I ordered the flatbread pizza, it was so good I ate every bit and drank an entire bottle as you can see from my picture how they prepare your wine into the decanter to breathe as you're enjoy your first pour. I plan to be back since it's very close to my gym. I recommend this place for your fine dining needs and a place to bring out of town guests.

Yelp
My friend and I were in the Rockville, MD area (near Washington DC) for Zumba. We were suggested to go to Cooper's Hawk Winery & Restaurant. According to their website, they were founded in 2005 with a passionate belief that food and wine hold the power to forge lasting connections. Their focus is on: - Handcrafted Wine - Modern Casual Dining - Napa-Style Tasting Room & Marketplace They have several locations including Arizona, Florida, Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Maryland, Michigan, Missouri, Ohio, Virginia, and Wisconsin. We went for late lunch. I tried the following: - House Made Meatballs (Happy Hour Menu) - Soy Ginger Atlantic Salmon - Red Wine Flight (Pinot Noir, Tempranillo, Cabernet Sauvignon, Petite Sirah) The friend that brought us said that it was his favorite place to stop by for Happy Hour. For me, loved the food and wine. My favorite was the Cabernet Sauvignon from the Red Wine Flight. Meatballs and Salmon were perfectly cooked. Service was also excellent.

Yelp

Yelp
HAPPY VALENTINE'S!!!!! Omg what a wonderful lunch I had. Wait wasn't too bad and the food was amazing! We ordered the chicken piccata and jambalaya and we'll definitely be ordering again. Thank you Stephanie for making our first valentines in 2 years and amazing one!!!! Also, great idea turning the music down. We definitely enjoyed our convo. :)

Yelp
I like this Cooper's Hawk! It was pretty packed and food took awhile, but everything I ate I enjoyed. Our table split the brussels and I ordered the seared tuna bowl in the lighter fare section. It was basically rice, slaw, and tuna, which a light sauce. Perfect for me, and the fish was great!

Yelp
Went here for my mother In law's retirement lunch and loved it!! Fancy but not stuffy ambiance, great food, and good service.

Yelp
Nice place, awesome food and yummy wine. The service outstanding. Join the wine club to get 2 free wine tasting a month

Yelp
Had their lobster bisque (it was SO good!). The risotto was also quite nice and the server was great. Definitely on the pricier side but 100% recommend!

Brian B.

Yelp
Sorry. Usually good. But they have went a bit downhill with take out. The provide separate sauce and food with the sauce barely enough to cover the gnocchi. It has chicken but literally 3 small slices. Not sure if this was a once in a while issue but a bit disappointed. On the plus side. Wine is always good so I give them props for that.

Yelp
One of our favorite restaurants now! We take our family and friends who are celebrating anniversaries to this spot now. It combines our 2 favorite things. Wine and good food. We are wine club members and thoroughly enjoy the wine. We always make sure to do wine tastings which is very affordable and the wine can sneak up on you. The food is awesome as well! My highlight is the lobster bisque. i always get one for the road. The service is always top tier and the staff go far and beyond. We love it here! Highly recommend.

Yelp
I ordered the napa chicken salad and it was really good! My friends ordered the gnocchi- both the alla vodka and carbonara and they seemed to enjoy it too. Chicken was thinly sliced on my salad and not dry at all. The honey mustard vinaigrette was also really good and paired well with everything on the salad. Our server was very attentive and gave a lot of his recommendations. For those who like a sweet red- definitely recommend the sweet red- sooo good. I ordered the vin chocolate almond based on our servers recommendation and it wasn't bad. I didn't love it but I also didn't hate it. Literally tastes like chocolate in wine form. Will definitely be returning !!

Liza M.

Yelp
The tasting menus were good and I was able to swap one wine I didn't want. We went more towards lunchtime, so it wasn't as busy in the tasting room as when we left. We stayed for lunch. Our waiter John was very pleasant and helpful. The trio tenderloins were tasty, as was the s'mores desert. A bit pricey, but it's a nice place with a huge wine variety.

Yelp
This restaurant is always busy. Parking outside is not easy. However, I can always find parking - eventually. Reservations are a must. However, bar seating is available in a pinch. Why is this place so poplular? Well, the food is consistently good. They also act as a mini winery; You can try different wines while you wait for a table or the wine tasting can be your whole experience. Service is not great. It's not bad but the wait staff is busy so not that attentive. You can have conversations here with your tablemates. Despite the abundant number of customers, it's not that loud, but not quiet either. If you want a quiet dinner away from crowds this place is not it. It is fun for small groups because everyone can find something delicious that they like to eat. Their menu is extensive and strong. I have had a number of dishes here and never had a bad experience. Everyone in my group has always been happy with what they got. Large groups won't be able to hear each other well due to the ambient noise. It's not my favorite restaurant but when I want to go somewhere with a group with different tastes this place does the trick.

Carolyn C.

Yelp
Stopped in for a lunch with colleagues. We made our server, Haley aware of our time crunch and she was on it! We tasted the monthly wine which was something "volcanic." It was pretty good but I wouldn't be able to drink a full glass. We all dined off the lunch pairing menu--soup and salads! Great deal for the portion and overall taste.
google avatar

Yelp
Not sure what is happening here but I sat at the bar and the bartender pretty much threw two napkins our way and then continued to make his drinks. There were crumbs on the bar just a few clicks away where I was sitting and I had to ask them to wipe off the bar. Not to mention the black napkin that was on the floor or that our cheese plate was not delivered but something was majorly off today. I have visited many Cooper's in the Chicagoland area and this was my first time here as a wine club member. It was not an ideal dining experience at the bar and I am hoping that my next visit in the dining room will be better.

Jill S.

Yelp
I have only been here for group birthday dinners, and they do a good job with these type of celebrations. You can bring in a cake, decorate the table/chairs, etc. The menu includes gluten free, vegetarian, healthy options, and lots of shareable items, which are all great for a big group. The atmosphere is upscale and modern, but comfortable at the same time. They obviously have a great wine selection, with careful descriptions and pairing information provided. Unfortunately, the food is just okay - nothing really bad, but nothing really good. Most of the flavor seemed to come from salt or butter (no real seasoning), and the fries were so salty that we had to have them remade. The menu doesn't have anything particularly interesting or unique, but is also doing way too many things at the same time. They've got sashimi, egg rolls, pasta, risotto, burgers, steak, seafood, enchiladas, flatbreads/pizza, and so many other options that nothing is actually done really well. For a big group dinner or a corporate event, it makes sense to want mass appeal and predictability, but that's the only case where I'd recommend this restaurant.

Yelp
The food was amazing. We sampled six of their wines, enjoyed all of them. The wait staff both in the restaurant and the wine bar were engaging as well as knowledgeable about what they were serving. We had a great time.

Yelp
Great atmosphere. Even better food. One of the best meals I've had in a LONG time. Highly recommend and looking forward to going back.

Yelp
Should have left this review sometime ago. My wife and I visited Cooper's Hawk a couple of months ago for lunch. Prior to our lunch, we did a wine tasting with Mr. Baylor, who was very accommodating and knowledgeable of the various wines offered to us. I was impressed how he was able to engage with us while at the same time engaging with another couple who were also taking part in a wine tasting. I would not hesitate to visit with Mr. Baylor again just wanted to say thank you for outstanding service along with your engaging personality.

Yelp
This is a review solely for the staff and customer service. We had an amazing customer service experience. There was a misunderstanding (not Cooper's Hawk Rockville's fault) with our wine club membership. Luckily the woman at the register and the manager were so kind and went above and beyond to make things right without us even having to ask. It was our first time at this location and we will definitely be coming back for food and future wine pick ups.

Yelp
Unfortunately, I did not have a good experience. Well to begin the service was to be desired. It is the first time I have experienced bad service. The hostess was great but our server was not. He came to take our orders and then forgot to put on our appetizer which created a small gap between receiving our appetizer and our main entree. It was a busy night for the restaurant however, I feel as though we were forgotten. I ordered the trio of medallions and I was not pleased. The medallions were overcooked when I asked for them to be cooked to medium. Also, the drunken shrimp appetizer was not fresh as you can see in the photo the guacamole was dry and had a dark color. Fresh guacamole has a lighter color signifying that the avocado is fresh. Also, the shrimp seem to be overcooked as well. The ambiance was nice as usual. Overall, I did not have a great experience this time and I am wine member so I frequent this establishment often. Hopefully they were just having a bad night.

Yelp
Had the pleasure of dining at the Rockville location over the Memorial Day weekend. Thankful for the reservation we made. The wait was not long at all. The hostess who seated us was very nice and shared details about the barrel in the hallway that a part of the tasting. (Sorry, don't remember which wine it was) Our booth was very cozy and even though it was in a high traffic area, we were secluded by high seat backs to separate us from the patrons seated behind us. The room was not brightly lit, so it added to the warm & welcoming environment. (Great aspects in my book!) The server, Shay, was awesome! Very attentive & knowledgable. Oh my goodness, she suggested great wine tasting selections as well delicious food choices! I'm so glad I listened and ordered the pork chops! They were so flavorful and juicy...5 stars in my book! Everything was delicious!! From the wine, the drinks, food, and desserts! We will surely go back to try other menu items. The price is well worth it for all you get! This is a must try restaurant if you've been thinking of trying it out...you will be as pleased as my friends and I are!

Yelp
First time at Cooper's Hawk last week. I really enjoyed it so I even got some to go this week for lunch. I tried to order a glass of moscato but I believe our server said they no longer had it (still on the menu though). I ordered a glass of Riesling instead and it was okay but I prefer rieslings that are on the sweeter side. My second glass was the passion fruit wine. It was delicious!! But I think my favorite may have been the sweet red because this is the first time I've tried a red wine that is actually sweet. Loved it so much I bought a bottle this week. For dinner last week I got the Parmesan-Crusted Filet Medallions & Scallop Gratin and it was delicious. For lunch this week I got the Lunch Dana's Parmesan-Crusted Chicken and I thought it was pretty good. Great service and nice ambiance. I will definitely be back.

Yelp
We came in today to give our friend a surprise birthday lunch. Victoria, at the host's desk, accommodated us by seating us early to help with this surprise. Our server Oksana was magnificent and absolutely delightful. Our huge drink orders were perfectly timed and delivered for the guest of honour and the whole table. She was engaging and so fun to interact with. She helped make the evening special for our dear friend and we couldn't be happier. We came in time for brunch and tried out their food and drinks menu. The rockstar mimosa was fun to drink and look at. Three of us had the breakfast gnocchi and thoroughly enjoyed it.

Yelp
Natiaha provided excellent service from the moment we were seated! From the wine and food suggestions to the conversation as she checked on our table, this was one of the better visits I have had at this location.

Yelp
I was recently in for a wine tasting along with a couple of girlfriends. I cannot say enough great things about the experience we had with Abigail --she was not only super knowledgeable but bubbly (no pun intended!) and friendly. :-) Highly recommend!
