Where To Have Brunch With Friends Who Are Always Late - Atlanta - The Infatuation

"Drive by the Cumberland Copeland’s on a weeknight, and you might see a tumbleweed in the parking lot. But their weekend brunch buffet consistently brings a crowd with people lining up outside before it opens. Since we know damn well our friend who claims they left 20 minutes ago is still in bed, we like to get a headstart on the buffet line that snakes through the dining area. They’ve got all the breakfast favorites, including jambalaya pasta, oysters, and an omelet station with toppings like shrimp and jalapeños. If etiquette won’t allow you to eat without your crew, pass the time with mimosas or a heavy-handed Hurricane instead." - nina reeder, juli horsford

The Best Creole & Cajun Restaurants In Atlanta - Atlanta - The Infatuation

"Drive by the Cumberland Copeland’s on a weeknight, and you might see a tumbleweed in the parking lot. But their weekend brunch buffet consistently brings a crowd with people lining up outside before it opens. The buffet line snakes through the dining area and has all the breakfast favorites (don’t skip out on the biscuits and gravy), including an omelet bar with toppings like shrimp and jalapeños. But we’re here for the oysters and the jambalaya pasta with a nice kick. And no NOLA brunch is complete without a mimosa or a Hurricane, and Copeland delivers there, too. For under $40 per person, the amount of tasty food choices and heavy seafood offerings feel a bit unreal, so contain yourself, ya heard?" - nina reeder, juli horsford, demarco williams

Arrived at 2pm and the place was still packed! Short wait but very well worth it. Mimosas, spinach and artichoke dip with bow tie pasta was phenomenal and a very unique appetizer. The eggplant piroge was huge with leftovers for tomorrow. The blackened red fish was perfectly cooked- not overcooked and dry- but the piece was probably half the size from last time and half the amount of blackening seasoning. The biscuits was absolutely perfect! The macaroni and cheese was cooked perfectly and super creamy. The dirty rice was good but the crispy bits were not desirable. Being from Cajun Country in Lafayette, LA this is just like the restaurant there and Cajun food. The waitress, Jade was super attentive and I would definitely ask for her when we return. Ambiance was full of the Cajun flair. The place was very clean and the staff were all friendly.

I had an amazing experience and would highly recommend this restaurant for a normal outing/special event. My server Donna was beyond exceptional & created a memorable experience. I was able to get seated as soon as I walked in, my server (Donna) greeted me immediately, my order came out in a timely manner, & the customer service was exceptional. Donna really made me feel special & welcomed as if I was at a family table instead of a restaurant. The food could have used more seasonings, but majority of the flavor came from the food that was incorporated in the dish. The drink & dessert were the highlights. The drink had me right throughout my entire meal. I’m not a fan of cheesecake but that cheesecake did not stand a chance & I could not put the spoon down. The only thing to my experience that was not great was the bathroom. The bathroom had a sour smell, but it was clean (no tissue/paper towels laying around). The sour smell was more like a sewage smell instead of a stinky smell. In all, I really enjoyed this location & would definitely return to try other dishes.

Great food, great service, very close knit seating. Tables are more comfortable than booths but the tables are still close to other parties and groups. Go early so that you don’t have to wait to be seated when everyone arrives. I went for my grandmas bday brunch and it was three of us plus my daughter. My nana has a walker so we needed a table. Booths are too tight. Also was hard to breastfeed in the booth. They moved us with no problem. The Sunday brunch between 11am and 3pm is chefs kiss. It was $39 after tax for the all you can eat buffet. I left full and satisfied. I would give five stars if it was more comfortable seating. I’ll need a seat near the kitchen next time. Seems to be more space there.

Unbelievably delicious food! Gotta get the spinach artichoke dip. My Blackened Bayou Chicken was amazing and Taqua was such a great server!

We were seated immediately, service was great, good came out quickly, and the waitor was attentive. The restaurant was mostly empty. It was a Sunday night almost 9pm. I had the Crabcakes & Shrimp Alfredo. It was ok. It came with a biscuit. I honestly don't remember it lol. I think the garlic bread would've paired better. Crab cakes weren't cooked enough on the inside so it was pretty mushy. Too much alfredo sauce; borderline soup. Sauce throughout the noodles and more on top..There was hardly any shrimp in it (look at the pic) and they were overcooked. But what I did receive was seasoned well. I wish they used more of the same seasoning in the pasta. I expected so much more from the food. Maybe I need to try something else. I wanted to send my food back but I know thats a no no when dining out. Kinda upset, it was my bday and I drove so far becauseI wanted a taste of New Orleans. But hey, you win some, you lose some.

First time guest here! If you have Ms. Donna as a server then you are in luck- she took care of us from the time we walked in until we walked out of the door. The food was great- everything came out super hot & fresh. Be sure to try to the Crash & Burn cocktail. You won’t regret it 🙌🏽

I loved Copelands until I came to this location. I do not live near one, so when I have the opportunity, I will go. I must say, time has done this place in. It is outdated and drab looking. The server was nice, but the food was sub par. Both appetizers were below room temperature. The Shrimp Etoufee was room temperature and yucky. The shrimp were those little shrimp used in some pasta salads. I never had shrimp that small in my dish before. I would not recommend.

Our server was doing everything and no help we had over 20 people from my work. I felt very sorry for her. She tried and all the food was messed up. It took forever just to get my cranberry ginger ale. All our food was wrong. They need better communication and more servers for a huge party of over 20!
