The Best Dive Bars in Los Angeles | Eater LA

"The Copper Bucket is a Reseda staple, first opened in 1951. Drinkers still come through to this family-owned dive for the delightfully kitschy wood paneling, neon signs, shuffleboard, and weekend crowds. The drinks are what you might expect: draft beers or brews by the bottle, and plenty of well cocktails. Those looking to save a few bucks will be comforted in knowing that the pours are very liberal, and the prices are dirt-cheap for a dive bar. Despite its weathered look, the place is actually kept very clean — again, for a dive bar." - Matthew Kang

Great bar with great service. Best dive bar in the valley. Keep in mind it IS a dive bar so it’s old school with great prices but don’t expect any fancy drinks you get at other expensive bars. Great selection of alcohol and good domestic/imported beers on tab for a bargain price! They have light snacks like chips and peanuts but they do allow you to bring in food so feel free to bring your own or order some delivery! Bartenders are great whether you’re here during the day or the night. Great service. I love going during weekdays personally where these less a crowd and get more attention. There is a jukebox so you can play some tunes as well. Vibe is great. Mix of older folk and younger gen. The regulars are great they’ll treat you with pure kindness. Bartenders are funny and make great drinks! Not your ordinary pours but you get your bang for your buck! Really great for you and the wallet. They have pool table and darts; food near-by as well in every direction. Check it out if you have an old soul; you’ll love it! Huge free parking lot which is a HUGE plus.

We just popped in here to kill some time and what a hidden gem! As my husband just said, “this is a 10 out of 10” - Vicki the bartender is so sweet and taught us some cute history about this place. We will be back. 50 cent pool too!! So awesome

Google
The service is horrible the old lady that's serves the drinks ignores you and takes her sweet time to serve you ..has a horrible attitude and the wait time to get a drink is over 10 minutes ...I don't recommend this place . At least hired someone to help her improve the wait time

Google
If you're looking for a local hole in the wall bar, look no further. Bar tender was friendly, and I had my drink in record time.

Google
I stopped in to shoot a few games of pool. I got a small pitcher ( 3 mugs) of Hazy IPA for $10.00 very good price. The people were friendly and I had fun shooting pool. All in all this was a nice evening of fun.

Michael German

Google
Great place. Hole in the wall, and proud of it. I'll be back. The bartender was friendly and nice. Cash only.

OMG, great dive bar. Prices are great. The service never has a smile. You can’t ask for nothing better. P.S. Cash only!! Then, nobody knows where you are, Please come join us! Make sure you tip.

Google
Very nice atmosphere and good service but the bar is cash only. Still nice place to play darts and pool.

Yelp
My wife and I attended this bar over this past weekend 07/30/2022 We had a great time here. It's a DIVE BAR come on now, cheap drinks, people are nice, has a pool table and dart machines and plenty of parking in the back. You know the old saying, be respectful and you will receive it back then fold. We will be back again for sure as the people were very nice and we played a few games of pool.

Yelp
Y'all...I had been in contact with this bar FOR MONTHS!!!!!!! in advance trying to plan a Mardi Gras social here in effort and attempt to support a small business post pandemic, and what do they do THE MORNING OF MY :::CONFIRMED::: event!? The husband of the owner calls me from the ***front seat*** of his car, exasperated, telling me that he and that owner wife of his have been arguing all night and that if I was allowed to continue to host my event here his wife would divorce him. So he cancels my event **DAY OF** saying that my event would likely cost him his marriage. You've got to be joking. The amount of unprofessionalism. The extreme tackiness of it all. The last minute *unbelievable* cancellation. And the owner wife dismissing me and my request for a callback as if I didn't even exist. I'm dumbfounded. I'm shocked. I'm at a loss for words. And now I'm scrambling not only to find a new venue for tonight, but I'm to take to all social media outlets to inform everyone of this LAST MINUTE disaster
google avatar

Yelp
I'll keep it extremely brief because it's a local bar and there isn't much you need to know. First thing to be noted is Terry and Will the bartenders are valley legends, I'll take the Pepsi challenge that they have the best pours within a 15 mile radius. Now I'll warn you it's 1000% a local bar. Very no frills and the men's bathroom is reminiscent of a NYC subway in the 80's but it's all good because you can get a triple Tito's and red bull for $6. Come on down, have a drink and tip your bartender
google avatar

Briana D.

Yelp
Terrible customer service and ambiance. Extremely unwelcoming with budget cocktails. Definitely would never go back. Drinks are comparable to a tiny pop up bar at an overpriced venue. Even it's freezing she refused to turn on the fire place. Guess it's just for show. Terrible experience

Yelp
GREAT DISHONOR!!!! Dishonor on you!!! Dishonor on your family! Dishonor on your cow!!! In all seriousness, I was really, really looking forward to experiencing what the Copper Bucket had to offer on February 21st for Fat Tuesday. My BFF planned an amazing Mardi Gras event there that would have no doubt brought the people and the money they were so ready to spend to the Copper Bucket. But you know what Rusty, the so-called owner of the Copper Bucket said to that? "Nah." Well, more specifically he said, "Sorry, you CAN'T come." Ummm what?!! Did he literally just tell us we CAN'T come? Not we won't be served, we won't be allowed in, just...we CAN'T come? Is he expecting us to be grateful that he at least said sorry?! WHAT. THE. (insert whatever expletive of your pleasing here because I suspect that's why Yelp took out my review to begin with. Yes Yelp police, I'm calling your butts out too!) Is it even LEGAL to tell someone they CAN'T come to your business if they haven't threatened you or are otherwise being disruptive? I mean, this sounds like some pre-Civil Rights era ish... Oh, but it gets better. To add insult to injury, Mr. Rusty told us we CAN'T come to the Copper Bucket...wait for it... ...the morning of the event. As in less than 12 hours from the start of an event that 70+ people RSVP'd too. THE. MORNING. OF. WHAT. THE. ACTUAL. #$@! Reason cited for this d1ck move? According to Rusty, because his wife didn't approve of the Mardi Gras theme and it was threatening their marriage. ... .... ..... How dumb do you think we are, Rusty?! I might have had some respect left for you if you at least told us a half believable lie. Rusty and the rest of the Copper Bucket staff knew MONTHS in advance about this event, and that yes, it is a Mardi Gras event. You know how I know he knew? Because his bar HAPPILY accepted the special ingredients that we personally bought and personally delivered beforehand to help the bartenders make special MARDI GRAS drinks for the evening. Bro, we WANTED to help you make money! On that note, the way Rusty treated my BFF hosting this event was especially egregious. My BFF is from the South where Mardi Gras is a strong tradition - one she wanted to share with LA and specifically chose the Copper Bucket to start that tradition here. Rusty knew this and still sh1t all over her efforts in the worst way possible. And hey look Rusty, if you feel like you need to offend some people in order to grow or protect your business, I get it. I really do. I'm a small business owner too. But here's what I can't figure out... The Nectar in Northridge, who so graciously and HAPPILY hosted our event after your d1ck move, made THOUSANDS off of us that night. THOUSANDS, bro. THOUSANDS OF DOLLARS that could have been filling the Copper Bucket's cash registers, tips lining the pockets of YOUR bartenders, instead. ON A TUESDAY NIGHT. Man if I was one of your staff you'd be on my sh1t list for life for refusing that business. And guess what? The Nectar is about to collect THOUSANDS more for St. Paddy's Day because we - and about 100 other thirsty big spenders - will be visiting them again this Friday. Maybe if you weren't such an unbelievably massive d1ck to us we would have considered hosting St Paddy's at the Copper Bucket. But NOPE, fool me once... So did ya grow your business? Doesn't seem so. And in terms of protecting your business, go ahead and pay Yelp with the THOUSANDS of dollars you didn't make Mardi Gras night to suppress/remove my review. I'll just post it again and elsewhere. It's not harsh criticism, especially when you DESERVE IT, that you need to be protected from. It's horrendous business practices and piss poor customer service that will land you in a court of law if you say what you said to us to someone more vengeful one day. Also, if we were to believe your obvious lie, did refusing THOUSANDS in business protect your marriage? Am I getting petty? Maybe. Am I getting personal? Yes. But Rusty MADE IT PERSONAL. And if he expects me to believe it then I expect him to defend it. TL;DR: Copper Bucket = messy AF, even for a dive bar, and that's saying something. Stay far away unless you enjoy being treated like sh1t.

Yelp
This place SUCKS! What kind of dickless dude comes up with a lame excuse, at the last minute, about his wife leaving him, LOL, if he holds an event, on what otherwise would be a slow night, and turns down easy profits, from a prearranged engagement, the way this bar 'owner' did? I'll tell you the kind of guy that does this. A wuss. haha Good thing Anissa at The Nectar came through, and on a very short notice, she stepped up and received a bar full of paying customers, that had a smash in her very nice establishment instead. Zero Stars for this place and how they do business though. We will never recommend this place to hold any events. They just might do a last minute cancellation on you too, unless the hubby receives permission from the wife. Lmaooo!

Yelp
This place is a dump. Worst attitude, they kicked me out with my service dog. They discriminated me. I showed my dogs ID, even though is illegal for them to ask for documentation. And the old lady bartender then said: you're not welcomed here. Really sad they discriminate someone who needs a service dog. People are very unhappy here. I'm filling a civil rights complaint.

Yelp
Great atmosphere and great drinks everyone is friendly and it's old school and the pool table is perfect

Yelp
Um, no. We walked in, found out it was a cash only bar, and immediately decided to leave. Also because there were more missing teeth than patrons, we knew it wasn't for us. The best part was they have a shuffleboard table, but that wasn't making us stay.

Bryan R.

Yelp
Greatest bar in the valley hands down. Drinks worth the price good music by your regulars

Yelp
Love this dive bar. A lot to do. Darts, shuffleboard. Great atmosphere and great prices!

Yelp
Happened 6 years ago. Hope it's better now. This is the WORST BAR I have ever been to. Piss stained rug, rotting ceiling that looks leaky, and has a very members only vibe. I have recently moved to the area and my older sister and her husband took me out. They had never been here and it was also appealing considering the reviews and the prices. NOT WORTH IT! As we first entered the bar we instantly felt unwelcome by the majority of the long in the tooth patrons. Not to mention the stench of urine as we passed through the entrance. It was immediate that our presence was not allowed. We kept to ourselves and ordered a few rounds. The people sitting next to us were very polite and friendly. We decided to play some pool and made our way over there. As we were walking across the bar I noticed a strange, very short man with glossy eyes giving me the dirtiest look. I shrugged it off as some shady patron. My brother in law played a 5 minute game of pool and then we changed to shuffle board. We were standing there when my sister, who isn't someone to be intimidated, asks the weird glossy eyed man (who had walked in, ordered a drink, and then perched himself 8 feet away from my sister) if she had done something to offend him. I instantly knew that guy was doing the same thing he did to me. THEN IT GOT CRAZY!! This messed up guy starts going off and posturing at my sister as if he's going to fight her. He's spouting off bizarre things like 'you interact with people when you come to bars!' and 'f**k you b****h'. My brother in law quickly gets in between them and now this guy is yelling at my sister's husband 'you're gonna fight her battles?' No bar staff had interfered or tried to help us. We got the heck outta there and were apologized to by the owners of the bar as we walked out. We walked towards the street to order a cab when the scary guy comes out of the bar being tailed by a bartender trying to get him inside. He's now acting like he has a gun in his pants and is screaming that he lives right next to the bar and he's still calling out my sister. We're yelling to leave us alone and trying to get as far away from him as possible. When we FINALLY get a cab, our cab driver informs us that there was a stabbing or shooting there a month ago and that it's a dangerous bar and has a reputation. DON'T BELIEVE THE REVIEWS!!! TERRIBLE!!

Yelp
Friendly vibe. The security will check your ID. Most times, people are playing pool and keeping to themselves. Cool individual sized or sharing pitchers for good draft beer. Nice ambiance. One of the best bathrooms in the Valley
google avatar

Tatyana E.

Yelp
Dive bar Cheap drinks Friendly bartenders Ample parking in the back Pool tables, darts, and televisions What else would you want or need at a local watering hole such as this place... they also have fun mini pitchers you can get of beer which is really cute and fun. I am on board with this place!
google avatar

Yelp
Fabulous dive bar. Especially early drinkers. Safe environment with food places nearby to order and bring in. Good poor. Friendly service and fun times.
google avatar

John M.

Yelp
Decent dive. Good service. Very reasonable prices. The lights were awfully bright for a dive though. The crowds came in waves: older, regular types early on, then the younger kids interested only in darts. They also have a pool table and jukebox. (Good music lovers beware, you might be held hostage to a crappy selection of songs.) Cash only. ATM inside.

Daniel M.

Yelp
This place is dirty, run down & disgusting. I walked in & walked right out. Take a look around this bar and you will see it's best to value your life better. The quality & condition of the bar says a lot about the quality of people you will surround yourself with in this dump. The best thing about this bar is your ability to walk right out and leave.
google avatar

Joyce D.

Yelp
Cheap minipitchers. It was around $17 for 2 minipitchers. It's your local kind of dive bar where you're not looking to get fancy. It's not the type where if you walk in the regulars will give you a weird look. They have some games, pool table, and shuffleboard. If you're looking to hang with a couple friends and not break the bank. It's not too bad. However, alot of the tables weren't wiped down. Chairs were broken that we had to find ones that werent.

Yelp
I have been coming to Copper Bucket for several years. We always come on the weekends. This is my favorite weekend spot to come and play darts, pool, etc. NEVER once have I seen a roach, bed bug, rats etc in this establishment. contrary to the review below. Its always been clean, I have never felt the place was in disarray or dirty, etc. And do not let Michelle L.s' review fool you, EVERY food and bar establishment has REGULAR inspections!! To insinuate that this place has not is ludicrous. Love reading reviews where the patron frequents the bar regularly, then decides one day its "Dirty and Gross"... I have never once felt un-valued here, ever. The entire block of building there is on the older side. However it adds to the appeal of the actual "Dive Bar". People forget what the term "Dive Bar" is... now a days, the younger crowd expects a dive bar to be some high class place... If you want high class, you aren't going to find it at a DIVE BAR. Its a Dive Bar for a reason... So many of us are regulars here and never have any issues/problems. Everyone knows each other and I have never once seen a real problem in here. Sylvia on the weekends is SO fun and the weekend day crowd between the bar and pool players is just a good time. It feels kinda like "Cheers" here. It is my favorite!
google avatar

Nicole H.

Yelp
Ok so it is a dive bar...so expect nothing but the best lol. They have a full size shuffle board table, pool table, multiple dart boards and a fun golf game in the corner. But the kicker....(see my picture below) full buckets of jack for $4.50. No joke...
google avatar

Nancy G.

Yelp
I love your place and I've really missed it over the last year. Will you be coming back after the virus is gone?
google avatar

Kelly H.

Yelp
This is a dive ass bar cheap cheap drinks. Day shift bar tenders are all great. But after 6 the Bar tender named Terri Is one EVIL EVIL EVIL person. Not one I want to serve me she will make a drink wrong and argue with you. Customer service not happing with her. I can't figure out why she work here. Not a pleasant being. What makes this place is the pricing on drinks. And the people who come in during the day. All cool people. However they can pick it up if they got some food trucks and rid of Terri.
google avatar

Tony H.

Yelp
Pretty much the perfect dive bar. It might seem really crummy on the outside but it's better than a lot of "dive" bars I've been too. Really cheap drinks, 3 or 4 buck mini pitchers, jack & coke or vodka cranberry type drinks are about 4 bucks. This is the kind of place you can come too with some good friends & have a good time drinking & playing pool or darts.
google avatar

Kelly K.

Yelp
I have loved this place from my first visit 5 years ago. Drinks are cheap, strong, and the company is always supreme! The bartenders are kind and always attentive, the pool table is REALLY nice! Fast felt is the greatest! This place will always have a special place in my heart!
google avatar

Lalo R.

Yelp
Good dive buy with really good prices...!! Well drink only 3. bucks 3.50 if it has juice... One of few places in the area were I can get my Cider fix... Angry Orchards Apple Cider.. Have been here several times and the Italian place next door will deliver your food to the bar if you request it..... They have a pool table... darts, and shuffleboard.... they have a killer jukebox.... but some of the music... is sometimes... way off point...the stuff people pick LOL... CASH only... Bar... Have met some cool people here that Ii still keep in touch with.. Only con was that s couple of times the TV would go out because of interfance of some sort... during Thrusday night Football.... Place draws a variety of locals to college crowd.. good place to hang out... Mens restroom has a wierd set up... Trust me once you go you will know what I am talking about....

Jim L.

Yelp
1st timer and glad my (best friend) Jessie introduce me to the bucket. Wasn't prepared thoe cause Is CA$H only. But I was happy they had Italy vs England game, nascar race, tennis tournament, and the Dodgers game and no mention Rusty great guy! I'll be back!
google avatar

Elise M.

Yelp
Oh, I'm a fan.. Came in here on a Sunday evening, and was the youngest one in the place, by 15 years at least. It was nice and cool, thanks to the 3 GIANT fans buzzing in the corners. The crowd was older, quiet folks just enjoying their drinks and silence. Terri, the no nonsense lady behind the bar is a sweetheart. Beer is ridiculously cheap, as are well drinks. They have a good selection of bottled beer, but there are only 3 on tap. There are dart boards, a pool table and a shuffle thingy table! That was super fun once I was um, slightly tipsy. Which I totally was, because this place is SO affordable that I just couldn't help it. But don't drink and drive folks, it isn't safe.
google avatar

Lauren S.

Yelp
Personally, I wish I lived closer to the Copper Bucket so that I can stumble in whenever I get bored. The staff was friendly The prices are cheap. ex. Gin and Tonic $3, IPA Pint $8 They have entertainment. ex. darts, pool, switchboard, and arcade games Overall Copper Bucket is definitely an acquired taste. It's a complete dive with a ton of character and I rather enjoy its presence. Note Cash only They have chips and nuts for about $0.75 Parking is in the back Games are $0.25 You can request music Tip order and bring in food (there's a Pizza Hut right down the street) they let you know where the checkpoints are for the night
google avatar

Rachel H.

Yelp
My friend and I pulled up to the Copper Bucket and found the lot surprisingly crowded, even for a Saturday night. As we wandered towards the back door, we noticed a clear plastic bottle with a long, pointed spout on the end. "Is that what I think it is?" My friend turned to me and asked. I did a round around it, examining it, trying to decipher the clue. "Yes," I said thoughtfully, "yes, I think that is a douche nozzle. I will take a picture and post it on Yelp so all the Yelpers will be warned that someone has douched in this parking lot and then carelessly discarded their douche nozzle!" My friends chuckled and cavorted, repeating the phrase "douche nozzle!" and then we all took pictures of it. All the things other Yelpers have said about the interior of the bar are true: it's bigger than it looks from the outside, and there are dart boards and shuffle boards, bar flies both young and old (but mostly old). When you open the door there is the unmistakable scent of bar: that stale beer and man-sweat, combined with vinyl upholstery and wood. You can tell that 15 years ago this place was smoked in and no one has changed even a stick of furniture in that time. And then I ordered my usual vodka soda and the bartender says "$2.75" $2.75?!?!?! $2.75????????????? $2.75!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! The bartender makes a comment along the lines of "don't bust my chops, chicken!" to which I reply "no, that's great, that's like NorCal prices!" and I promptly tipped her a buck twenty-five. So what saves a place from being the place you remember only as the bar where you found a douche nozzle in the parking lot? A $2.75 vodka soda. I'll be back, Copper Bucket, I'll be back!
google avatar

Hanhie D.

Yelp
This place is so cute! I doubt anyone would ever describe it using that word, but it is. There is something about a bartender who's old enough to be my grandpa that is so oddly cute. We went here on a Saturday and the place was relatively busy. They have three electronic dart boards, one pool table and one shuffle board. I was really excited to come here and play shuffle board! Too bad I really suck. I should just stick to darts even though I get worse and worse as the night progresses. We only had $4 mini pitchers here which is such a good DEAL!! Come check this place out if you want cheap drinks and fun bar games! ps. as others have stated... CASH only!
google avatar

Jin N.

Yelp
Chill and laid back local spot. 25-30's crowd. This place is hard to find. I almost passed by it especially since I thought it was closed down for business. How awesome...there's this dingy back alley, and you enter from the back, not the front where the streets are. Once you get in, it's got a shuffle board and pool tables. A very small place, but I had fun sitting at the counter and chatting it up with the locals. The drinks are reasonably priced...32oz pitcher of miller light $4.50. It's half the size of a usual pitcher and it's adorable. They have other drinks for less than $5. It's not the fanciest, classiest place you'll find. But a beer is still a beer wherever you go, right? If your'e looking to have a casual hangout with inexpensive drinks besides your home, this is the place.
google avatar

Taylor D.

Yelp
Awesome hole in the wall, cash bar. You get a "regular" vibe, but in the welcoming way... like you'll want to come back for more $9 pitchers and become a regular yourself.
google avatar

Hallah K.

Yelp
If it was legal to marry a bar, I would have done this years ago. The Copper Bucket is the perfect all around definition of a kickass dive bar. Oh gleaming golden can, I shall list the reasons for your awesomeness: CHEAP DRINKS ($2.50 & up, nothing higher than $8) Free Hotdog & Chili Mondays during football season Shuffleboard Darts Pool Jukebox (25 cents a song, COME ON) Fireplace Leagues- dart, pool, bowling, softball Italian, chinese, american food can be ordered to the bar And most importantly, the most wonderful owners, and the sweetest, most bitchin bartenders in town. I will be getting my fix here for the rest of my life.
google avatar

Craig J.

Yelp
Third time going on Friday night. Cheap drinks which is cool. Bartender took our drinks at 1:37am. I asked why he was taking it and he said, "have you ever been to a bar before? This is bar time not real time." So that guy sucks. We go outside to leave and their is a fight between two guys. One of the guys in the group pepper sprayed the other guy. It got into our eyes and throat. Double sucks So minus getting our drinks taken away at 1:37 and being questioned if I have ever been to a bar and getting pepper sprayed in the parking lot we had a good time.
google avatar

Cristian R.

Yelp
I've visited this place quite a few times and i like the vibe, but I still have to give it 3 stars. The reasons they only get 3 stars is due to them being cash only and having dirty restrooms. The vibe here is pretty awesome, but there is no excuse to not accept CCs in 2019. I know street vendors that do Postmates and accept Credit Cards, come on guys! Another downside is there is no music if someone isn't paying for it through the jukebox. It gets really quiet sometimes... awkward.
google avatar

Kearstin E.

Yelp
A step above your typical dive cause it has a lot more space then you'd think- 2 pool tables, 3 dart boards, a shuffleboard, 2 room areas and an intricate little fire pit sitting arrangement. The drinks are fairly priced and made right I wouldn't really recommend it for a huge group because it gets packed weekends and though there is plenty to occupy you- usually it's all booked up for hours. Cool atmosphere though- I never liked it from outside but I do think it's pretty cool inside.
google avatar

Josh Z.

Yelp
Holy crap. This is a place of absolute misery. The patrons and staff hate life. It's a cash only bar which should probably be stated before bringing me drinks. Especially when you see me holding my card (wanted to open a tab) instead she said there's an ATM you'll need to pay cash. It was kinda sad. Do yourself a favor and find a shit hole to go to.
google avatar

Roman T.

Yelp
CASH ONLY! A textbook example of a dive. Decent size place, a pool table, a bunch of dart machines, and a decent crowd. Been here a few times and there was always a small crowd. (check out the pictures) So if you like dives all to yourself (and your friends) with $4 pitchers of beer, then this place is for you. Nice place if you just want to get out of the house and grab a beer in peace.
google avatar

Dick R.

Yelp
Had an hour wait at a nearby restaurant so went in to check it out. Reasonable prices and my gin and tonic had the proper proportions of gin to tonic. Pool table, dart board, shuffle board, and much more. I know it's a 'sports bar' but I still don't like seeing tv sets everywhere. Someone was playing decent tunes on the jukebox, and that's a plus.
google avatar

Camel J.

Yelp
Love this place Vet friendly we hit this spot when we are on leave from mcrd. Owners are super chill. Total laid back environment, and dude the bloody Marie's are non joke good . The lady behind the bar was super cool.
google avatar

Loe M.

Yelp
Great place if you want to just drink beer and listen to loud music. The place is more of a dive bar. the bartender was so pleasant. Came here last night to hang out with a friend.
google avatar

Josh N.

Yelp
*Update* My roommate recently stumbled into the house upon a night of partying at the bucket. Upon arrival he began vomiting uncontrollably, exorcist style. However the next day he told me his total tab was only 15 bucks. Talk about value!

Yelp
Wow, did we have fun here. Work friends often go here but I never joined them until tonight. A group of about a dozen or so of us showed up. Some friends I hadn't seen in a few months, some I just saw this afternoon. The bar is great. Funky neighborhood dive bar type of place but packed with friendly people. Some of the other reviews say the place smells of old beer - well it IS an old bar but it smelled just fine to me. Drinks are super cheap = like half what you'd pay in Hollywood. Lots of games to play - pool, darts, shuffleboard. Nice patio outside for the smokers. Lots of regulars but I didn't feel out of place as a first-timer at all. The owners run the bar and they're real friendly. Love this place. It's not a fancy club but it's a lot of fun. You should go. I'll be back.

Yelp
Dive bar. Staff was attentive but not friendly. I'm close to 40 but I was too young by 25 - 30 years. No one seemed happy to be there. Had two beers and left. I guess it was convenient.

Yelp
The regulars call it "The Bucket". What else can I say? It's a blue collar bar. The drinks are dirt cheap and no high strung idiots. Been coming here for years, and will continue to visit every so often. This is the place to get shwasted! It's a hit and miss if you're really looking for a certain vibe. I'd say it gets busy with local college students starting Thursday nights. No guarantees, just expect a loud friendly crowd that wants to relax after a long days work. CASH ONLY! Split the mini pitcher with a buddy or down it by yourself for a good night. ($4) Plus: Neighboring restaurants (Adrian's and Salsa and Beer!) have yummy food. P.S. If you have a small car, I suggest to park away from the trucks. Small parking spaces + "shwastedness" to the core = fun night and dings on the car door.

Yelp
This place defines Dive bars. Relaxed environment with plenty of beers. I'm rating this bar based on what I would expect at a dive bar. No dance music or crazy high-class scene. Nope, just a good place to relax with your buddies while playing a few games. Speaking of the games, they have it all. Shuffleboard, darts, pool table, etc.. My favorite part of the copper bucket has to be the games. The staff is excellent. I haven't met a single person I didn't like that worked at the copper bucket. If anything, I probably had a conversation or two with everyone. Super friendly that adds to the environment. Prices are what you expect from a bar in the San Fernando Valley. Few bucks for a beer, and under $20 for a round with your buddies. Overall, an excellent place to relax with a few beers and some bar games. Come for the beer, stay for the games.

Yelp
Love this place. Kind of small but a good time especially with the right people. The drinks are cheap and worth it! Only down side is it's only cash so make sure to stop by the bank before! Will definitely be back!

Yelp
I saw that someone was shot at a few weeks ago at the Copper Bucket. There was caution tape set up along with several police officers stationed right outside. I personally have only been there once, but would never revisit. When I went it was age mixed crowd, however not mixed on ethnicities. It took forever to get a drink and I waited so long over 20 minutes... Granted there was only one person, but it wasn't that crowded. While I was waiting I met a man with no middle teeth. He asked me how I heard about the place... If I heard they had cheap drinks. I said no, but thanked him for informing me. He then said its good for the youth to come in because the regulars can't just keep it afloat. He then asked me again how I heard about the place and I told him a friend invited me... Then he said we usually don't get any "coloreds" in here. Yes he called me colored! I don't think he meant anything by it and it was his vocabulary. But he was very insistent that I know about cheap alcohol and telling my colored friends. I've never been back and come to think of it I never did get my drink... Cheap alcohol.
