"Copper Club, a new brasserie and cafe from the team behind Asadito and Slightly Toasted, opened in late May inside an office building at 70 W. Madison Street. The restaurant vies for broad appeal with a menu of soups, sandwiches, and entrees like steak frites and mussels in green chili broth. On the cocktail menu, whiskey gets top billing in barrel-aged drinks such as the 1879 Bully alongside wines and beers." - Naomi Waxman

Delicious fresh food. Prix Fixe menu option. Onion rings out of this world. Salmon was slightly too salty but excellent presentation. One of the most affordable meals inside the loop.

The server was friendly and the food was delicious. The only regret was that the MSG chicken was too salty. I think it would be better if it was a little sweeter and less salty.

I came here for lunch on a Thursday. The bartender was friendly and told me to sit wherever I liked. I didn’t see a hostess when I walked in. Food came out quickly. I ordered a cup of tomato soup and the beet salad. The salad was delicious, however I expected more beets considering the name of “beet salad.” The soup was ok, but just not my taste. It reminded me more of pasta sauce, and not soup. Overall, it was a good lunch.

Ordered a protein bowl with grilled chicken. Cut into the chicken and it was pink and red, no5 cooked. Really disappointing since I've been wanting to try the bowl for a while and work in the building. Uncooked chicken can lead to salmonella. Do better so that your customers don't have to worry about whether a meal here will lead to a trip to the ER.

We had an early lunch on a Wednesday, 11:15. The club sandwich, fries, grillled cheese and tomato soup were perfect. The atmosphere was peaceful and calm. It was hard to believe the bustling city was just outside the door. We will definitely be back to try more on the menu the next time we are in the city.

The bartenders should be more professional and mindful of what they say. Gossiping, talking politics and openly criticizing people in front of customers (with beliefs that may be different than theirs) will make customers feel unwelcome and they won't spend their money there. They definitely lost out on a large tab from me. Otherwise, the bar has a nice atmosphere, the place is clean, and the menu seemed nice.

Go to place for fresh food. The chef takes great pride. I love the salmon toast and the rotating soup. Plus, they make an exceptional Espresso Martini. This is carrot ginger soup - delightful.

Highly recommend! This place a gem with good food, great service and incredible value... especially in Chicago. Had the C.C.C cocktail and the massive fish & chips (definitely enough for 2 meals)--Best fish & chips I've ever had (batter was super crispy and the fish was beautifully flaky), and the cocktail was well balanced.

Yelp
Friends met and went for a birthday lunch today. Service was great from being timely seated, order taken, food arrival and making sure drinks were full. I ordered the Break from Work, which was well-balanced and refreshing. The seasonal soup tasted homemade yet with nice touches of crumbled cheese and chili oil. The Avocado Toast and Wedge Salad, while classics, were made with interesting additions that put them over the top. The atmosphere was modern, warm and inviting. I look forward to returning to try more menu offerings and would recommend to anyone looking for well-crafted cocktails and delicious food in a sophisticated atmosphere.

Yelp
We celebrated our Valentine's Day dinner here, and it was absolutely delicious! We chose the special menu, where we selected two coursed from their curated options for a fixed price. $36 per person seemed like a great deal! We went with the fish and chips and a dessert, as well as the croquet and steak. Everything was cooked to perfection and full of flavor. The ambiance was great for setting the mood, with dim lighting and various seating arrangements, from cozy booths to a comfortable couch setup around a table. We had a last-minute change in our Valentine's Day plans, so we were worried about finding a great restaurant with reservations still available. However, we were pleasantly surprised with our choice and will definitely be back soon.

Yelp
You can definitely tell from the vibe of the place that it's definitely leaning towards after-work happy hour and not really a restaurant for dinner with friends Still good food - especially the burrata appetizer but thought the pasta was a little too heavy (...and gloopy?) with the over-reduced/creamy sauce. The flavor was pretty good but for the price and how it was labelled as "lamb ragu", there was definitely a lack of protein. The service was alright - everyone was friendly and nice

Yelp
We went on a Thursday after noon before a play and it was really great! We made a reservation for 5 and were a little late but it was no problem we got sat right away at a pretty empty dining area. The bar area was full. The chairs were all comfy and combo of booths and oversized reading chairs. The sangria was on happy hour and was good. I believe it's $8 on happy hour. I got the steak frites which was cooked perfectly medium I wish the fries would have been thinner and more crispy but the garlic aioli was great. My fiancée got the cooper club which he really enjoyed.

Yelp
If they weren't so overpriced they would be a five star establishment. The food is really good but nothing spectacular and certainly no delicately prepared seafood dishes etc. $35 for an Old Fashioned was simply excessive. The Onion Rings were beer battered and therefore a much lighter fare than expected. If you order the fish sandwich skip the bread and remoulade and turn it into an Irish Pub styled fish and chips. The mood is romantic and private --a bit dark, so a business dinner seemed a bit out of place. The service was exceptional!

Yelp
Went after work with colleagues for a drink and sat at a high boy by the bar. Service was remarkably fast. We all came at different times but the server was always there when we needed her and brought drinks quickly. She easily had us pay separately with no fuss. Someone ordered fries and they were crispy and flavorful / wish I'd ordered my own!

Yelp
Tucked away on the first floor of an office building at 70 West Madison Street, Copper Club features an inviting, clubby interior, including private event rooms and an expansive cocktail bar. I remember coming here when another restaurant/bar occupied this space, so it was good to return last week for a drink at the bar. It was difficult at first to get the server's attention for drink menus, but understandable as my visit was at the peak of happy hour. The cocktail menu is whiskey forward. When I visited it was half-off for "Whiskey Wednesday." I opted for the old fashioned, which was made in house. Next time, I will probably opt for a whiskey, neat, as this drink was pre-mixed. It was serviceable, just not what I was expecting. I found the ambiance to be convivial and relaxing, with a nice buzz at the bar. I am planning to revisit Copper Club for a pre-theater meal or the midday happy hour (aka liquid lunch) from 11 am - 2 pm, which is a hidden gem to come across.

Yelp
Let me start with The service was solid. They honored our reservation very timely and the waiter was nice. He made sure he got us in for the happy hour. The food was just ok. There were 4 of us and we weren't disappointed per se but weren't wow'd. My filet o fish tasted just fine but had way too much sauce in it which kept me from being able to really eat it. I would have had sauce everywhere. It was just pouring out. The fries were good.

Yelp
I come here for the pappardelle pasta dish. Great every time! Drinks are yummy too. Wings are ok but not my favorite. Sauce is heavy and overpowering IMO.

Yelp
I'm excited to try more! The Copper Club is on the first floor of this high-rise office building. Parking is available at the bottom level - highly recommend SpotHero over searching for street parking. There's a private room at the back of the restaurant for more intimate meetings. I had the smoked salmon toast - amazing! I wish I'd gotten photos. My friend for the apple salad and salmon. The salmon didn't come with any sides, which he doesn't mind. I can't remember what the soup of the day was on a Friday in February, but it was so-so. It was served in a very cute, miniature pot for one. Also worth mentioning: the bathroom is really cute. I love that there's a wrist handle to keep your hands clean.

Yelp
My first visit today for lunch was a hit. My guest and I had reservations, were warmly greeted, and were invited to choose between three table options. Menu options were good, and service was consistently attentive and unobtrusive. My kale Caesar salad was excellent, with some of the best cheese I've ever had. I elected to add some salmon to the salad; it too was a tasty addition. I'll be back.

Yelp
Tried this place for the first time yesterday for a business lunch. The restaurant has a nice set up with a variety of seating, some of which stretches out into the lobby of the building, which is nice for a different open airy feel. I had the apple salad with chicken which the waitress recommended as a crowd favorite. It was just ok, the chicken was a bit overcooked and dry, and the dried fruit on the salad was a bit excessive. It was a decent salad but could've been better. I'm a fan of comfy booth seating and comfy table seating and this place has both, so that is a plus.

Yelp
After a long day of travel and shopping we were looking for a quick place to grab good food. This place came up after a quick yelp/google search and we made our way there. I dont think we realized they had a mid day happy hour which was a nice treat to find. I am a huge child at heart so when I see a good grilled cheese on the menu I always have to get it and boy am I happy I saw it because it fed in to all my big kid needs! Grilled cheese and old fashioneds was the perfect lunch after a long day! If your in the area stop by for some mid day treats.

Yelp
Dined here prior to a show since it's walking distance from the Lyric and Theater District in general. The service was fine but the food was just okay. I ordered the steak frites along with a couple of drinks. I didn't care for the steak, it was a bit fatty for my taste and it was on the bland side. Generally I'm used to having my frites served alongside the steak to absorb the flavour but instead they were placed in a bowl beside the meat and were very bland. As for the drinks I ordered two and the mixology wasn't robust or memorable. The place is decorated nicely and the chairs we sat in were comfortable and spacious. I will return, just not for the steak frites :/ and probably opt for a glass of Vino next time.

Yelp
Great service, cocktails and food during happy hour. I'd recommend this place for after work dinner, too.

Yelp
I thought the food and ambiance was great. I had the steak sandwich which was delicious. Our sever was pleasant but he was also rather awkward and could not understand us most of the time. Thinking back, every interaction was awkward and a bit uncomfortable. I felt he also tried to rush us a bit even though they were not close to closing. It's possible he was new? In any case, the service was fine. I didn't like that they had very limited beer options on draught. I did think the beer options were overpriced in general.

Mallory F.

Yelp
Food was pretty good. Service was really great. Prices were very reasonable. All within close distance to the theater district.

Yelp
Copper club is our after work spot! Michael the bartender makes the best Aperol spritz!

Yelp
I can't remember the name of the place this replaced but we used to come all the time. I do like this place though. Went for the first time a few weeks ago after work for a happy hour. Is right by work so is very convenient. Good drinks and friendly staff. Is the new banker spot haha. Will definitely be back soon!
