Denver’s only woman-owned roastery pours at multiple cafés; the Botanic Gardens location offers house-made syrups and a serene setting. Recognized by 5280 for championing women-produced coffees and listed by the Gardens, it’s a calm, quality stop near Congress Park.

Love the excellent service and the ambience. You are surrounded by nature that can be admired through the windows and have the option to sit outside on the patio where you can breathe in the fresh air. Staff are friendly and great barristas.

Google
Ambiance was pretty solid, location is fantastic! Their espresso is a lighter/greener tasting roast- great in an americano, but not the flavor for everyone! I love that they do homemade syrups and are quick!

Google
Bring your own mug if you get a coffee to go. The lids on their to go cups definitely do not fit and you will get coffee everywhere. A staff member told me they're aware of that, but they don't seem to think it's a big deal.

Google
I’ve been here twice the first time was ok. But the staff doesn’t seem particularly kind or knowledgeable. Today when I entered the girl behind the counter did not say hi or acknowledge us at all. She was very busy drying a dish and couldn’t take the time to say “I will be with you and in a second. “ Maybe their employees aren’t paid enough and are just over customer service but it felt so rude and we ended up leaving! The one time we were able to order something the coffee and pastries were good. But I just feel so disappointed. It’s also a beautiful space and would have been nice to be welcomed. And maybe we should try it again but hopefully they will talk to their employees about better customer service!

Google
Gigi our barista made us the best tasting hot oat milk orange maple lattes! Gigi has the biggest smile and when we tasted our drinks we smiled as big as her! Awesome experience!

Lola Erkaeva

Google
Absolutely terrible customer service. The barista clearly didn’t care—moving at her own pace, casually serving people who ordered after me. I waited a full 15 minutes for my drink, and only when I finally asked about it did she nearly toss the coffee at me with a dismissive “we’re making it, just chill.” This was my first—and definitely last—visit. With so many beautiful and welcoming coffee shops in Denver, this place doesn’t deserve our business. Avoid if you value good service and respect as a customer

Google
Coffee is good, people are friendly. But it is very small and doesn't have much seating. It only has 2 tables to sit at and the rest is high top bar style seating that faces the window in a narrow hallway in the back. Chairs are metal and pretty uncomfortable. Not the kind of place I could sit in for a while and do some work, or hand out and relax while I sip my coffee. Was hoping it would at least have a view of the botanical gardens but the windows face the street. Just not the lounge style coffee shop. Probably better for take out, personal opinion.

Google
Lovely coffee shop by Denver Botanic Gardens. It's a cool location and the coffee shop fits nicely into its surroundings. The bright and spacious coffee shop, lush floral decor, and sunny patio make it an excellent spot to enjoy a cup of morning coffee. During my visits, I had an excellent cortado, but the other time the cappuccino was just ok as it was a bit dark and hot.

Yelp
What I got: quad shot espresso Barrista: super friendly and very attentive to how they do their pour. Atmosphere: they have both indoor and outdoor seating. The indoor is coffee shopesque decore with limiting seating. Outdoors is surrounded by blooming flowers and very week shaded. If you are a fan of architecture continue down and you'll be inside the library area and have art peaces with modern wooden architecture. Coffee: amazing pour, not burnt, floral aromas. Comes in a coffee to go cup even if you sit their. Would be nice if they had actually espresso cups or coffee. Overall would come again.

Yelp
First off, the two young ladies at the counter weren't super friendly or welcoming but when I stood right in front of the ordering counter one of them immediately assisted me. I call it okay service. This coffee shop is pretty quiet. Most of the bar seating was taken when I arrived at/around 2pm so I went through the glass door to the left (west of the shop) to sit in one of the couches in the Botanical Gardens' facility building next door. They had a good variety of both savory and sweet pastries displayed upfront. Art work (although not too mu) represents nicely at to a coffee shop right at the Gardens. My cappuccino was amazing. The same young lady who took my order made it. She did a great job. Like I said, the service wasn't super great but it wasn't horrible either. I'll definitely come back here when I have an opportunity to do so. Overall it was a decent experience.

Yelp
I love this coffee shop! A cute place to stop for a bit, hop on your lap top, chat with a friend. I only say for a bit because it can get pretty busy and there's only a handful of seats. My bf and I make our own pour overs at home so we buy bags of beans from different places around town. I'd have to say Copper Door consistently has the beans I'm looking for. Light to medium roast with some fruity notes in it. Lots of others are too dark and meh. If you're a member of the gardens, you can 10% off your order too. Other plus about this shop is it's women owned. So come support if you actually like good coffee.

Yelp
Nice indoor and outdoor seating, friendly staff, good seasonal drinks. Can be a bit loud because it's a really popular coffee shop, it's right next to botanical gardens and Cheeseman park and it's not very big. Nothing super special about this coffee shop but it gets the job done if you want a fun coffee drink and are meeting up with someone for a chat.

Yelp
What a gem of a spot next to the botanical garden. They don't have 16oz cappuccino but the latte is great. They have different flavors including lavender. Yum! There is plenty of sitting area and the high ceiling makes it feel airy. Staff is very friendly. Next time I'll try their muffins. Women owned.

Yelp
Tasty coffee and a cute shop to hang or work from! I visited on a weekday around 4pm and it was very crowded in here so we decided to sit outside. They also have ice cream and other snacks that I didn't get to try but looked great. The service was great and quick!

Yelp
I had a toasted almond latte with oat milk and half caff. The coffee had a good flavor, and you could taste the nuttiness unlike some places that serve almond syrup that tastes like sugar. It went down very smooth. They also have kombucha in cans available for purchase, though the only flavor they had when I went was watermelon. I take away one star because it is pretty pricey. I paid a little over $7 for a medium. The space is bright and airy, and they've got one of the better patios in Denver for those nice days (but the sun doesn't touch it). You can purchase all the plants they have hanging around, which is a major plus! The baristas pumped out drinks pretty quickly and I didn't have to wait long.

Yelp
love this spot! tons of natural light, solid cup of coffee, and tons of live plants everywhere. parking is the only hard part.

Yelp
The all women-owned Copper Door Coffee Roaster has several locations, including one adjacent to the Denver Botanical Garden. Besides the expected variety of coffees, the York Street location pays homage to its neighbor by selling small houseplants. A variety of seating options are available, from bar seats along the floor to ceiling window with access to electrical outlets, wood slab tables embedded with pebbles and succulents, and an outdoor patio. I enjoyed a cappuccino and what the cashier described as "UFO" pastry (solid custard surrounded by laminated pastry).

Yelp
Copper door is a great coffee shop, with great service, kind workers, a clean and well kept environment, and the area is beautiful. In addition, I had no complaints with my drink, as it tasted excellent. Its a nice spot tucked right next to the botanical gardens. Loved this place and will certainly be back!

Yelp
Cooper Door is an automatic must visit for the hubby and me when we visit Denver. There's a bit of nostalgia since we used to hit up the old Stapleton location every weekend and we still mail order beans from them now that we live out of state. On this last visit, we checked out the shop attached to the botanical gardens and were just as satisfied. Parking can be tricky if you go during a busy time and it's right off York so crossing the street can be stressful if you don't use the crosswalk button. I digress. There are a few tables outside, tables inside and tons of plants and succulents to go with the whole botanical gardens theme. The coffee is always good here. I ordered a double espresso as well as a cortado with oat milk. Both were smooth and a hint of berry from whatever roast they were using. The hubby always orders an iced vanilla almond milk latte. And we also grabbed 2 bags of beans to go. They make their own strips which I think is a must for any quality roaster. Check out one of their many locations and be sure to grab a bag of beans to go.

Yelp
Nick is the man. Professional courteous and kind even when it was busy. You have a real one working there!

Yelp
I LOVE this coffee shop. Being that it is attached to the Botanic Gardens gives it such a lovely vibe. I had an oat milk hot chocolate and a jasmine green tea, both were lovely for those that want non-coffee options. The staff seemed happy and were so friendly. Music was on point. Great place to sit and work, I felt so productive with this window seat :)

Yelp
When you walk into Copper Door you're transported to a modern sleek hideaway away from the busy street outside. The wall adorn with art work of flowers and bumblebees to tie the coffee shop to the Denver Botanical Gardens a short walk away. The smell of coffee fills your senses and helps you quickly make the decision to get a cup of freshly roasted beans. Coffee and not Coffee are the menu items. Coffee beans are roasted in-house, as are the syrups (but why would you pollute these heavenly beans with sugar and flavor)? On this hotter than normal fall afternoon, I chose the iced latte. Deliver quickly, the beautiful tan color deliver the boosted I needed for my afternoon slump. The flavors amazing with notes of dark chocolate and the creaminess of the whole milk. A heavenly match. Service was delightful and the crew full of smiles when we walked in. I was worried reading other reviews if baristas with an ego, but that all faded after I placed my order. What makes this coffee shop for me is the support of Woman farmers where they claim to source their beans.

Yelp
One of the most beautiful coffee shops I've ever been to. The plants and natural lighting make the place so cozy! Barista was so nice and immediately recommended me the brown sugar iced coffee because I was having a hard time deciding! I'll def be coming back to work!

Yelp
This place has easily become the best part of my morning routine. I started working from home in June and I've realized it can start feeling pretty lonely (even for an introvert!). My daily serotonin and human interaction come from my morning routine of a walk in the park and a coffee run at this place before plugging in at work......and all I can say is that Im laying im bed right now thinking about waking up tomorrow and going to grab my iced latte at this spot. This neighborhood is perfect for a walk, this coffee spot is adorable- the tall glass windows- the lighting- the art- the plants - the playlists - the entire thing is *chefs kiss. The baritas are always really nice and my order, an iced hazelnut oat milk latte, is always perfect. I have no complains. I don't even care that I spend almost 10 dollars on a latte every time a go.

Yelp
Really sweet coffee shop with plants for sale just down from the Denver Botanic garden. You can tie your dog outside, but not bring it in. I bought a gorgeous crystal with a succulent inside - love it!

Kornel J.

Yelp
Very nice guy who helped me out! Their iced mocha was super delicious. You can taste the espresso but it's not bitter at all, very smooth! They didn't have any light roast available, as I wanted to try a cappuccino but it's nothing worth putting them in a 4 star. Will have to come back and try their lighter roast!
google avatar

Melrose Y.

Yelp
Just what I needed for a beautiful day walking in the botanical garden, a cup of iced coffee! :) It's a great convenient location right next to the botanical garden. Very relaxing and welcoming vibes. I got the iced mocha and it was amazing. Just the right taste of coffee and chocolate, but it wasn't sweet sweet. I even contemplated on getting another one once I was done walking in the gardens, but I decided against it to try another local coffee shop a chance that afternoon haha I would definitely come back again!

Kyle J.

Yelp
Favorite coffee shop around. Friendly service & delicious coffee :) I love the outdoor seating too.
google avatar

Amanda H.

Yelp
Overall, super great vibe. I love that the shop is woman owned and is attached to the Botanic Gardens.
google avatar

Sobia B.

Yelp
For an unassuming space, this shop hits the spot. I ordered their seasonal latte, and it was good. I always feel good when walking into the shop as the plants and ambiance are very warm and welcoming. The croissants are so huge and perfectly crispy and fluffy! The coffee I would say is ok - hence docking one star. Working from home here is a hit or miss as it can be really busy, and WiFi is hard to connect to as a result. Pricing for coffee and pastries is average with the city, about $6 each. Parking is hard as it is all street parking. The entire city is like that so I don't consider this a downside; however, there is the botanical gardens parking Deck if you'd like. They do not validate that. Overall, good little n spot for coffee and pastries!

Yelp
While staying with friends in the area for a week, we came by Copper Door three times and now that I'm home I long for a Watermelon Palmer on a daily basis. It was one of their seasonal drinks for summer and it was delicious. I tried sips of other things, which were all delicious as well. So safe to say, it's a great spot. Plus it's in a really lovely area with some outdoor seating and connected to the Denver Botanical Gardens. (If you're a member there, you get a discount!) Glad this is so close by our friends so we have a reliable place for delightful drinks when we visit.

Yelp
This was amazing. Not only was the staff super friendly to me and I don't even drink coffee. The place is so aesthetically pleasing and looks awesome. First time here and loved it!! Definitely get them to recommend you a drink because it is made with love!

Sumay J.

Yelp
My previous review would have been 5 stars in every category. Their coffee is amazing, and the staff has always been courteous and kind. That was until today. The person working today had a chip on their shoulder even before I ordered. I started to order and then asked my daughter which syrup she wanted and the person ignored me and interrupted and told me to let my daughter order. I said my other daughter has previously forgotten to order coffee forgetting to get almond milk so I was just reminding her. Remember where I said I was ordering? Oh, and I had the money? I ordered our coffee and after it was given to us the person rudely told me I did not respect their gender. They then pointed to their clothes as if that was supposed to be obvious. Lots of people have piercings and wear jeans and a Tshirt. If it means so much to someone, they should have a pin or name tag to let people know their preferences. I have no intention of harming anyone, but I left the coffee shop feeling harmed myself. I don't think I ever even used pronouns at all, but I could easily be wrong. I was extremely nice and over apologized but this person just outright assumes you are doing it out of spite and is rude the entire time. For all the positive experiences I have had here in the past, I won't be coming back. Your staff have every right to be who they are (as do all of us) but regardless of differences, everyone deserves respect - especially if you are working with the public.

Claudia H.

Yelp
Nitro tasted stale and sour. When my friend asked for a different drink the staff was not happy about it.

Yelp
Score for Copper Door! So great. I recently switched from a pod brewing system (you know the one - the expensive metal pods with George Clooney as their spokesperson) to drip coffee and french press. I've been on the hunt for the perfect beans. I found Copper Door online and fell in love with their story - women owned. Amazing! I walked in and asked the woman at the register if we could talk beans and she was ALL about it. It was like I was the only person in the world at that moment. She educated me and we talked all about their different roasts and we talked about what I like and don't like. Such a great experience. She even let me sample the River Rock Blend, which was the one I was interested in (and ended up purchasing). Overall a really great experience and I can't wait to run out of beans so I can come back!

Yelp
Great coffee stop for teas coffee and pastries! Grab some waters before you tour the botanical gardens and enjoy the beautiful plants flowers and botanicals. No dogs allowed inside the botanical gardens.
google avatar

Sasha T.

Yelp
This area needed a coffee shop so badly and Copper Door delivers! Their coffee is incredible and so are their teas. The inside is inviting with its high ceilings, but we mostly sit outside, which is just lovely. Never had a bad experience here--only good things to say about Copper Door by the Gardens.
google avatar

Justin B.

Yelp
So, I'll start out by saying the coffee seems pretty good and the atmosphere and decor are very nice. I would totally hang here with some friends or just go by myself to study or read. However, I came here with some friends recently after going to the Botanic Garden's and our experience was mixed, to put it mildly. There was a blonde guy with lots of tattoos working that was astoundingly rude to all of us. I really tried to be extra nice and make conversation, but he wasn't having it at all. I understand having a bad day and I know we all have crazy lives, but I would rather someone say to me "sorry, I'm just having a really rough day" than be straight up rude and dismissive. I gave the guy the benefit of the doubt and gave him a good tip anyways. If you're in such a bad mood, maybe let people know that so they don't take it personally. It was hard to enjoy the experience with the person behind the counter acting like a giant storm cloud. One of my friends said, "wow, I think he REALLY hates me." If you don't explain your bad mood it does come across like you don't like your customers. Great little place and yummy coffee, just work on the attitude a little.

Yelp
On the positive side, the coffee is good, the baked goods are tasty and the ambience can't be beat. On the negative side, the barista was negative, sullen and almost seemed to resent our being there. When the staff makes you feel as though you were intruding on their space, it makes for an unpleasant experience.
google avatar

Gary S.

Yelp
Fantastic new Café as part of the new Freyer building at the Botanic Gardens. Women owned sourcing coffee beans from women growers. Great pastries too. Nice people. Beautiful setting with lots of outdoor seating.
google avatar

Dianna M.

Yelp
What a great place to have a coffee and sit down! Needed to get some work done and this was the right choice. I got a cappuccino and sat near the window.
google avatar

Dina B.

Yelp
Beautiful coffee shop right by the botanic gardens. I got the matcha and it was really good. Friendly barista and overall a great place to sit and get some work done.
google avatar

Lee M.

Yelp
Their cortado was on point. They put a lot of effort into their drink presentations which is definitely a vibe - they also have lots of plants from the botanical gardens which creates a cute atmosphere. Will definitely be making this a frequent stop for a chill work place with good espresso drinks.
google avatar

Will A.

Yelp
It's not open at 6:00 like it says on Apple Maps and yelp. It opens at 7:00. Not a big deal unless your trying to get coffee before work like I was.
google avatar

Stacy P.

Yelp
Great coffee, friendly and fast service. The cold brew was a nice dark roast. Small inside seating area, also a nice patio outside. Located near the Botanical Gardens of Denver. Enjoyed spending a bit of time here before our flight out. Free wi-if with passwords at the table. Not a lot of background music, was a nice quiet spot to read and catch up on emails.
google avatar

Megan P.

Yelp
Delicious iced coffee and the decor flows beautifully with the botanical garden next door (& women owned! )

Amy F.

Yelp
Amazing coffee. Beautiful spot. Woman-owned serious coffee. I love Copper Door. We buy their beans for coffee at home, but this is a beautiful place for a cup of coffee.

Sarah V.

Yelp
I honestly can't believe I'm the first person to review this place. I live in the Congress Park neighborhood, and it's been some time since we've had a new option for local coffee in this area! This coffee shop is perfectly located right next to the Botanical Gardens. I had a fantastic chai latte and we also enjoyed a (very unique) orange spiced cold brew (see photo). We topped everything off with a bear claw pastry, which was fresh and delicious! The menu is broad, and fairly priced. The giant outdoor patio space is dog friendly and there is a spacious indoor area perfect for working/meeting with friends (when we can enjoy indoor seating again!). Additional pros: this local business is female owned AND is filled with lots of plants (all for sale)!

Jessica V.

Yelp
This coffee shop is so cute and quaint. You have to stop in if you're in the area. I got the hot chocolate and a hazelnut croissant and it was to die for!! Will be visiting next time I visit Colorado.

Sabel F.

Yelp
I have been here several times recently since I have moved in nearby. I love coffee, and this is the closest one to my place. I am leaving such a low review because most of the coffee drinks I have tried have not been that great other than the basic plain coffee and americano. The pastries are great! But the PRICES here are INSANE. One coffee is like $7-$8? Definitely not worth it but I keep coming back since it's so close to my place and I need to get out of the house. If you want a casual coffee here or there the price is not worth it AT ALL!
google avatar

Christina M.

Yelp
Copper door has good coffee, friendly staff, and a very welcoming space. This is a great addition to the neighborhood.
google avatar

Mark M.

Yelp
I know the coffee business. I lived in San Francisco in the '80s, then I lived in Boulder for 15 years, and now I've been in Denver for 10 years. I consider myself a connoisseur of coffee beverages. Not only that, but I understand the qualities that make a good coffee shop. Generally, that means allowing a customer to order a coffee drink to his/her liking. You will not find that experience at the Copper Door in the Botanic Garden. Their baristas challenge you if you order a coffee drink contrary to their proscribed way of preparing a drink. Don't dare ask for a cappuccino in a cup larger than 4 ounces. If you do, they give you a stern look and remind you that "their" cappuccino drinks are served in 4-ounce cups. If you say that you would still like a larger cup, they tell you that you are ordering a latte. It's ridiculous. I am not ordering a latte or I would have said so. Why argue with the customer? Why not let me have a cappuccino in a larger cup? You can even charge me more if it's necessary. Never in 30 years of visiting coffee shops have I met baristas with such surly attitudes and with such rigid opinions of what is the correct preparation and serving method. The Copper Door at the Botanic Garden is a beautiful setting, but the employees are arrogant snobs.

Nicolas B.

Yelp
This coffee was " kinda sus " ngl it made me Nyah like a little Baka. Someone did throw a bagel at me in the bathroom I don't know if it was from the shop or not and I don't know what would be worse. 6/5 if I could
