Copperhill Mountain Lodge

Our stay at Copperhill during the Wim Hof Winter Expedition December 2025 was truly memorable! The surrounding nature is magnificent, the winter vibes are perfectly captured, and the combination of adventure, relaxation, and comfort made this an unforgettable experience. The hotel itself is cozy and welcoming, with spacious rooms, excellent breakfast, and a very nice spa area. We stayed in the Copper Suite, which was very comfortable, though a firmer mattress would be needed for proper sleep. We checked in a day early prior to the start of the retreat, and the experience was seamless. We flew from Dubai to Oslo, then connected to TRD airport, and rented a car for the 2-hour drive to Copperhill, which was very easy and straightforward. A note for first-time winter visitors: daylight is very limited in the region, with sunsets around 2:30pm, so it’s best to plan any driving during daylight hours. Special thanks to Manager Magnus at reception, who welcomed us warmly and was very informative with all the details needed, and to Ellen, who we booked with via phone; she was very helpful and can assist with arranging a taxi from the airport or connecting you with the taxi company if preferred. All staff at Copperhill were super friendly and very helpful, ensuring our stay was comfortable and enjoyable. Overall, this was a truly memorable stay, and we will definitely be returning. Highly recommended!

I spent a night at copperhill hotel with my work and the hotel itself is very impressive. The architecture is amazing and cosy at the same time. Like a cabin but in huge. What was very sad was that all my colleagues got really nice rooms whereas I got a room on the ground floor, directly to the road outside. The room was not prepared, no towels, no toilet paper, dust. When I asked about this, someone dropped me half a pack of toilet paper at the door. No towels, no nice words. I had to ask for a towel twice again and then I got one small towel. It really made me feel like I'm asking for something impossible. I highly recommend to locate guests that belong to one group in similar standard rooms and not put one of them in a half ready basement room - this person will feel not welcomed at all.

Had an incredible time. Restaurant was great. Wine selection excellent. Room was beautiful, spacious, comfortable. Spa and massages were incredible. Ellen at the front desk gave awesome recommendations. Alex made some great drinks and took care of us at dinner. Emilie gave an amazing massage. We can’t wait to go back in the winter to ski!

The best mountain lodge with stunning view of Åre mountains and copper themed design with amazing spa. The restaurant serves seasonal menu with delicious food. This is one of the best hotel we have stayed. Kids can enjoy the spa and pool which is not common in many hotels in Sweden. There is a arcade room where kids can spend some time for fun. Overall best experience ||The staff Ellen and Jenny from the reception are very welcoming and ensured our stay was great. Thank you Copperhill , we will visit again .

What a gem. I can definitely recommend. Out of the tourist path, in a quiet are with a nature trail right out the door. Own ski lift in the winter, connects to slopes in Åre. While not inexpensive, Copperhill can compete in the value department, because you get a lot for your buck. Modern and very clean, with awsome staff. 5 🤩

Åre is an excellent destination with amazing food, scenic hikes, and plenty of outdoor activities. Copperhill Mountain Lodge is perfectly situated on a mountain with breathtaking views yet just a short distance from town.||Our stay was truly memorable. The weather gave us the full mountain experience, sunny days and brief, charming thunderstorms we enjoyed from indoors with stunning views. The service from every single person at the hotel was outstanding, warm, and attentive.||The food at Copperhill was exceptional, with great vegan and vegetarian options. The salad prepared for us upon our late-night arrival was the best we’ve ever had. The vegan risotto at dinner was fantastic, and breakfast was a highlight with delicious vegan nut butter and hummus.||Åre also offers some incredible dining spots we highly recommend: Crêperie & Logi Åre for cozy crepes, Buustamons for a beautiful summer lunch outdoors, Imilla which we sadly missed but everyone says is the best (book well in advance), Granen Hotel for a lovely dinner, and Vinbaren for dinner or drinks.||The combination of Copperhill’s perfect location, comfort, and exceptional hospitality made it hard to leave for my family and they had to be dragged out of the hotel. We will definitely be back. Highly recommend this hotel to anyone visiting Åre.

From the warm reception at check in to the fantastic upgrade offer (worth every penny) Ellen and Copper Hill staff made our stay extra special! The hotel is always spotless and luxurious. The beds were so comfy and the breakfast is world class! The view from our room were stunning. We can highly recommend Copper Hill in Åre!

Very nice building and rooms. SLOWEST SERVICE EVER. I've traveled a lot and I've never had as slow service as this ever. (Ok at lunch but dinner is a disaster.) Had to wait almost two hours for main course that never came. We just left. That was the 5th dinner. The four previous were better but still very slow. Worthless. Don't come here. Way too over priced.

Copperhill Mountain Lodge is perched on top of hill with truly breathtaking views. It's a large very open layout that's been thoughtfully designed and decorated. The spa was nice, but if possible I would only give 3 stars. Nothing too highlight aside from again, the views. Breakfast was very nice with lots to choose from, pretty typical Swedish spread. No surprises there. Staff was very friendly, kind and accommodating. I struggle with hotels that have the reputation and acclaim of being top notch but there is no one to tend to luggage on staff. Having to lug your bags to and from the car up to a room just doesn't sit well with me and greatly changes your experience. Tip for hotels: hire bellhops!
