If you like pizza with a 1/2" thick more bread like crust this is a good choice. The sauce is thick but not acidic the toppings are cut to a good size overall a good pizza for a pan style. Not my style pie but still a good choice.

Run away from this place! I can call it the place of leftovers. We couldn’t eat two bites. It was smelly and awful. We returned it immediately and they made us to pay for it in a very rude way. I highly NOT recommend it.

We love Italian food and we were recommended to come here. We got mozzarella sticks (nothing special) and garlic bread. We got fettuccine Alfredo, lasagna, and sausage & peppers. We all enjoyed our meals. The waiter was very nice and this place was pretty busy with pretty big groups when we went. We'll definitely be back.

Google

This was my first night here on Friday October 18, 2024. Some clients of mine recommended I try Coppola’s. Busy. I had a Sierra Mist, salad with blue cheese dressing & crackers, Chicken Parm with pasta, & warm butter bread. All tasty. Excellent service. Plenty of parking in the parking lot. Located in a shopping center. Adriana is nice, friendly, & very helpful. I will come back more often.

My girlfriend and I went out for date night tonight. We picked this place off Google maps because it was close and had good reviews. So glad we came. Food: I highly recommend the lobster ravioli. Sauce was delicious! Calamari was good, but fried a bit harder than I prefer. Shrimp Parmigiano was too saucy and we did not care much for it. My girlfriend sent it back and opted for a slice of pepperoni pizza. That was better. Atmosphere: The ambiance is nice, casual, and comfortable. Service: Anna was amazing, professional, and friendly! She was super attentive and we wish her the best as she leaves for college! So glad we got to meet her!! Elizabeth was also a joy when she had to come to the table. Customer service here exceeded my expectations!

Never been here before but when I tell you I plan to return! The food was amazing and very authentic! I’ve never had shrimp Alfredo that taste that delicious! Everything was great!

Google
So far, everything I've gotten here has been good. Love getting the stuffed pizza. Like a giant calzone. Swear the thing weighs like 10 pounds. If you love meat lovers, then you'll love this! It's not cheap, $36 for it, but well worth it, IMO. You can eat off of it multiple times easily! One and done for me!

Yelp
This is my FAVORITE Italian restaurant in Winston-Salem. I like to consider my self a "regular". The owner is a gentleman named Sal, and he has a phenomenal menu and a location he has been in since April of '92. Spaghetti & Meatballs Fettuccine Alfredo covered with Chicken Pepperoni Pizza Steak & Cheese Hoagie Chicken Tenders Chicken Romano These are some of the dishes I have tried. Again, this is a GREAT.Italian Restaurant; you can't go wrong when you ask for Sal!

Yelp
I have been going to this restaurant since I was a little boy, and that was a long time ago. If you're looking for simple, homemade Italian food, then look no further. The classics on this menu will make you feel at home with their family-style atmosphere. These dishes are not necessarily elegant, but that does not mean that they are not delicious. If you are looking for an extensive wine and beer list, it will not be found here; they are a simple Italian joint. I do prefer their pizza, as it is the only "real" pizza close to my house, and I can get it home piping hot. Another favorite of mine are the stromboli, they are packed with toppings and cheese, and the crust is always golden brown and crispy. If you are looking for a casual Italian joint, then look no further, you will not be disappointed!

Yelp
Love the food here. Spaghetti is exactly how I like it, reminds me of Italian restaurants in San Francisco. The salads are fresh and crisp. Waitstaff is always on top of your order.

Yelp
I never knew I had a hidden jewel right down the street from my house. The wife and I got home late and looking for some guilty pleasures. I found it at Coppola's! Now there are some rules to dining. Never order the fish and a steak house, never order a burger at a seafood joint, and at a pizzeria only order the pizza! That's what they specialize in right? Well I broke that rule and was so very happy about it. I decided to go with the veal parm sandwich for my late night snack and it was lovely! I went to bed happy! So guess what pizzeria I'm going to next???

Yelp
Finally managed to get back to this nice neighborhood spot. I came specifically to try their version of the Italian Sub - labeled Submarine on the menu. This is a smaller sub than most I've tried in the area - definitely doesn't seem to reach 8". There are only two meats - ham and salami, along with provolone, lettuce, tomato, onion, and oil & vinegar. There was a side of FF included - total cost was $9.50. This was not an especially good sub, in either taste or texture. The meat and cheese fillings were rather slim, the roll was not so much crusty as it was simply hard, and the O & V was very lightly applied. This is not a sandwich I'd order again - taste and texture off, and even with a side, this lacks values well. Ambiance - 4 Food - 2.5 Service - 4.5 Value - 2.5

Yelp
"Come hungry" my husband said I should put in my review. At first glance Coppola's has an old school feel - faux brick walls, lots of dark wood, old pics of Italy on the wall. Appearance is a bit tired. However the food is the star of the show here, and once it arrives at your table you won't care about anything else. I always order the Chicken Monterosa because why mess with perfection. Bow tie pasta, bites of chicken breast, small bits of tomato, and spinach in a creamy pink sauce. Generous portions - depending on how hungry I am I can get 2-4 meals out of one serving! Comes with a salad and small loaf of bread. My husband usually gets the Stromboli - note that the small is huge and the large is the size of a small child. He also likes the calzone. Their cannoli are tasty too. We used to live nearby and would dine in person, we now live across town and although we still stop in occasionally, more often we will DoorDash an order - it always arrives hit, fresh and well packaged. On our most recent visit, there was 80s music playing, which is always a win for me. There was only one waitress working and she was being run ragged but she remained cheerful and took care of everyone. Our food arrived quickly, hot and delicious.

Yelp
A late night delight! Simple fried shrimp and egg rolls hit the spot when you desire a crunchy appetizer. We ordered this through GrubHub and surprisingly it arrived within a modest timeframe and it was hot. Will definitely return to this restaurant to sit down and have a meal.

Yelp
Excellent spot for a good pizza. I ordered the Fettuccini Alfredo and loved it. Service was great and the ambiance was relaxing. Plenty of seating for large groups. They have a good selection of wines and Italian beers. The pizza here is as original as you can get it. Definitely a must try spot..

Yelp
We've heard alot of positive things about Coppola's online and today we decided to stop in. We've driven by many times and knew it was located on the corner of Yadkinville Road and Reynolda Road. We stopped in shortly before 4pm on a Saturday afternoon and there was only one other table seated. We were greeted immediately and took a quick look at the specials board. We were taken to a booth and provided menus. The dining area has tables in the middle with booths along both sides. Our server also took our drink orders. The menu is large and features a wide variety of items ranging from appetizers and salads to various pasta dishes, New York style pizza, strombolis, calzone and desserts. We noticed they also serve a variety of wines and have a couple of beers on tap as well. Our server was very friendly and when we asked him for some of his favorite items he was happy to share. My wife ended up choosing the stuffed eggplant parmesan at his recommendation and I chose the small regular stromboli. My wife's meal came with a side salad and bread and I also chose to have a salad. He delivered our salads promptly and they looked and tasted great. As we sat there several people started coming in to eat along with quite a few to go orders. Our entrees arrived and looked absolutely delicious. We both dug in and were really impressed with the taste, size of the entrees and freshness. We also feel their prices are incredibly reasonable which is always appreciated. We really enjoyed everything and we always love to support small family businesses. We will absolutely be back in and recommend to others!

Yelp
Entrees are fantastic. I would recommend for those to sit down and eat there. Imo the pizza is a little too cheesy . But overall great place to eat

Yelp
Coppola's never disappoints. Food is always good, rarely is it too busy, and the service is usually pretty good. Always stop whenever we're in town.
google avatar

Yelp
Average Italian food. Not bad, older atmosphere. Staff were okay, not overly friendly. Price was reasonable.

Yelp
Found a great little Italian place on the north side of town. Clean and well lighted. Service was quick and caring. Love their sauce which had just the right amount of onion and bell peppers and I'm pretty sure by the color that they used San Marzano tomatoes and a hint of sweet. I had the lasagna and my wife had the spaghetti, both of which were excellent. We saw a couple of pizzas go by that also looked very good. Prices were very reasonable for the portion sizes which were more than adequate. Seems like a family owned business and I think they have been there for a while. We will definitely return if we are in that area around dinner time.

Yelp
My family came to Coppola's for a father's day lunch. It has been years since I've been here! I think there were 8-10 of us in total, and Terri was our server. She was amazing. So nice and available despite being so busy. My wife and I ordered the deep dish Sicilian Coppola's special pizza. Each slice is at least twice as thick as a normal pizza. I ate one stopped because I knew I would be in pain if I ate another. That's a great pizza. We had a plain cheeseburger for a kid with fries, a linguine alfredo, and a turkey sub with fries. I also saw an eggplant parmesan, which my grandmother said was delicious, and she was married to a Sicilian who made that all the time at home. There was also an Italian antipasto cold cut salad and another dish or two that I can't remember. I tasted the alfredo, pizza, and fries, so I can only say that those were pretty great. The sub my son ordered looked okay, but it looked like mostly bread. For the rest, everything was said to be tasty. I think for the traditional dishes, this is definitely a place I will come back to.

Yelp
Delicious Italian food and great service. The pizzas and pastas are delicious! I'll definitely be back!

Yelp
Haven't been here in years and it's a hidden gem. Met a friend for lunch yesterday and we both had the cheesesteak (ok maybe not very italian). They were good but I have to say the fries that came with it were some of the best I've ever had. Leaving, they mentioned Thursday was half price wine night.
google avatar

Ray G.

Yelp
This is a wonderful family owned Italian restaurant. The Coppola stuffed pizza was very tasty. The food is always excellent and we love the casual atmosphere. The staff is very responsive.

Yelp
Was in the area tonight looking for somewhere to have dinner and decided to check out Coppola's. I've had subs from there to go before but never dined in. First off, we have the most exceptional waitress that I've had in a long time. She was super friendly and on top of it. Obviously the decor was very dated, and I may have been the youngest person in here but none of that matters because the food was insane. I had baked lasagna with the side of meatballs and was blown away by how good they were. I love Italian food, I love lasagna, but this was just something else. I can't wait to go back.

Carl M.

Yelp
Friendly staff, great food, quick service with a genuine smile. What more could you ask for?

Yelp
Some of my earliest memories are of eating here at Coppola's as a young child with my family. Coppola's is offers a very family friendly environment with old 90 nostalgic vibes. The staff is great. Food is always superb. You can never go wrong with the pepperoni pizza or the Philly cheesesteak, and the spumoni is always wonderful. The fries can't be beat. They usually always have a great variety of weekly specials as well.

Yelp
My bf and I decided to give Coppola's a try tonight for dinner. Let's just say that it was not a pleasant experience. The server was very nice. We ordered mozzarella sticks for appetizers and for the entrees, we ordered chicken parmigiana and baked ziti. The first red flag was the amount of marinara sauce covering both of our entrees. You couldn't really see what the order was. My bf ordered the chicken and, underneath all the sauce and cheese, it was the saddest, thinnest, lacking in moisture, gray looking "chicken". My ziti was lacking flavor. I'm sorry I didn't take pics of the chicken because I still cannot believe that a restaurant would have the balls to serve that. We told our server that we were not satisfied with our food. She apologized and had the manager remove it from our check. No problem. Fair enough. I went to pay for our sodas and mozzarella sticks when the manager came over to take my payment. That's when it got unpleasant. The manager proceeds to ask me if we didn't like the food. Not sure if he was being sarcastic but I said no, we did not. With other customers sitting waiting on their orders, he proceeds to mansplain to me that he has been in business for 32 years and hasn't had complains about his food (really? In 32 years?) and he says to me "whatever". Boyfriend didn't like that and they proceeded to have a back and forth. Basically, the manager said to us that since he had never seen us there, our opinion about his food didn't matter and he would be happy if we never came back. We said no problem because this isn't real Italian food. We weren't rude at all but the manager just pushed and got rudeness back. It's sad that you can't find good mom and pop Italian food in Winston-Salem aside from one or two places then you venture to give local places a try and regret leaving the house.

Yelp
We ordered take out, which was delicious. The atmosphere was relaxing. A great place to family or with friends. The service was great

Yelp
Great old school traditional Italian restaurant. Had heard of Coppola's in passing and came across it for a pop in dinner with the family. Location is good in a wide open and remodeled strip shopping center, plenty of parking and easy to access. The inside has the feel of a nice small Italian family run place but there is lots of tables and seating to accommodate groups of all sizes. Menu was extensive mix pasta dishes, sandwiches, salads and pizza. We had the stuffed shells, manicotti and Sicilian style pizza and all were really good. Food portions were large and filling and prices were reasonable. Staff was good, very polite and provided really good service. Waiter was attentive keeping the table stocked on drinks and napkins without asking or sitting empty needing items. Definitely recommend Coppola's as a good local Italian food place and looks to do a lot of takeout business as well. If you're expecting fancy, it's not that. If you want good food at a good price, this is the spot.
google avatar

Sam B.

Yelp
As a northerner who loves Italian food, this is definitely some of the better Italian food I've had in this area so far. The pastas are good but nothing mind blowing and the tomato sauce with onions, mushrooms, and bacon on the Chicken Romano really accentuates the flavor of the dish. Would likely come back for the right occasion given the affordability and good service this place has to offer. Overall 3.6/5

Yelp
We moved here about 5 months ago and this is the first Italian place we are happy with, lasagna had the crispy burnt ends like my grandmothers, pizza was foldable, and chocolate mousse! The older guy running the show was nice and asked if I needed anything and offered all you would need for a great Italian meal. Finally found a regular "go to" place. Pretty happy
google avatar

Landon G.

Yelp
Used to be a go-to, but very poor actions by owner/manager had us never going again. For takeout, we ordered 2 linguini with clams with red sauce, but got home to see them with white sauce. Not a big deal- so we decided to call and drive out there to pick up our correct order. However, we called, and the owner first did not believe us, then complained about having to cook 2 more meals, and finally he forced us to bring the white sauce orders to him or else we would not get our CORRECT food... when we should at least be able to keep the wrong order... While I'm not sure if he will re-serve those meals or throw them away, I know the horrible owner/manager will never be seeing us again.

Yelp
Very fresh and delicious. Loved the salad! Nice waitress with great dressing. The deserts were to die for Yuuuuuum Lori B.

Yelp
This place is fairly priced, offers good quality food and has a friendly service staff. I typically go there for pasta and when I'm craving cannolis. I like their sausage and pepper zitis. Most of their sandwiches are good. I haven't tried their pizza yet. The service is fast and efficient. Parking is never a problem. It is a go to place for our family. The dining is simple and they seem to focus on the food.

Yelp
I'm ashamed to admit that I've lived in Winston-Salem for 22 years and tonight was our first time at Coppola's. We've talked about trying it for years. And today we even sat in the parking lot and debated whether to eat here or go somewhere more familiar. I'm so glad we finally ate here. It's an old school, Italian family run restaurant. It's a little dark and dated inside, but the staff is friendly, food came out fast, tasted great and the prices are low. The garlic knots were excellent, a lighter dough than most places serve and a great marinara to go with it. The Tortellini was plentiful, and the Carbonara was a monstrous portion. Both came with fresh bread and a side salad for $10 and $12 each. Service was quick and efficient. Peroni and several Red Oak beers were on draft. We shared a nice cannoli to finish off the meal. Start to finish, everything was better than we expected.

Sam H.

Yelp
Really good Italian food. When we want pizza this is my go to. The bottom crust is always crisp and not soggy like some other places.

Yelp
Sadly, I didn't discover Coppola's until this year. My husband introduced me to this incredible restaurant. I've had stromboli, steak stromboli, calzone, spinach calzone, cheese steak sandwich, homemade chips & eggplant manicotti. My absolute favorite is the cheese steak and homemade chips. The steak was cooked perfectly and it was so flavorful. Everything I've had there is absolutely incredible. All of the employees I've encountered are super nice. The only problem I've ever had is that one time the eggplant manicotti we ordered to go was burnt. However, I spoke with the owner who is incredibly nice. He did replace it for me. Even with that being said, it wouldn't keep me away from Coppola's or giving them anything less than a 5 star.
google avatar

Jennifer T.

Yelp
I liked the atmosphere, it reminded me of restaurants in the 80s. I ordered spaghetti with meat sauce, it was very bland, like school spaghetti, which was surprising and disappointing. BF got lasagna, the sauce was unseasoned tomato sauce. Staff was nice, pizza looked good. I would go back and try pizza, but for italian food it would be a no.
google avatar

Samuel G.

Yelp
We ordered 14 garlic knots, kids spaghetti, side of meatballs, and manicotti to go. The salads were fresh and yummy. Everything was on point. When I stepped in, the manager met me, made sure the order was correct. Coppolas is a perennial favorite bc they are always so nice and the food is a great value. We are very satisfied tonight.

Yelp
We Found a large piece of plastic in our lasagna meal. My wife returned the lasagna to Coppola's the next day. The employee that, she spoke with was not very helpful. Our family will not be going to Coppola's restaurant for any meals. Beware of the poor service at Coppola's restaurant.

Yelp
Indoor & outdoor seating for starters which is a great option for nice weather. Then, the option of pizza by the slice, just takes me back home to NY. Tow of my boys & my nephews got a slice & they all approved it, & they all know pizza as they either have been or grew up in NY. We tried fried shrimp, fried calamari & garlic knots for appetizers. The shrimp were tasty, perfectly cooked. The garlic knots were slightly crispy, just the right amount of garlic, Parmesan cheese & oil, they were scrumptious.. The fried calamari were not just the rings & a lot of breading.", as well as slightly over cooked. I would love if they could add the tentacles & they used a light batter instead of a heavy breading. Everyone at the table had a variety of dishes, I had the Spaghetti Carbonara which was soo flavorful, plenty of bacon, the portion was big (I had leftovers for next days lunch) & like most entrees it came with a side salad & bread & butter. The side salad is not just lettuce & tomatoes, it also has radish slices, cucumber, sliced red onion, and green olives ....a yummy full salad. The bread comes to the table warm & toasty, soo fresh & with whipped butter to the side. A few got subs like chicken park that were pretty decent, & came with a side of spaghetti with marinara. My youngest got Shrimp Parmigiana & the shrimp were nice & big. A couple got the Alfredo Pasta with chicken & they seem to enjoy it. One also had lasagna & he loved it, pretty big piece . This last time that we went , I tried the Special which was a crabmeat stuffed flounder & it came with spaghetti in wine sauce, the founder & spaghetti were very flavorful but the crabmeat stuffing itself was a bit salty. Last but not least we tried the cannoli & the shell was nice & crispy, tasted fresh & the filling was also delicious & tasty ....creamy just a delight to the tastebuds!!

Yelp
Great, accommodated a huge crowd when we were in town for a soccer tournament. Dodd and service were great.

Yelp
We ordered takeout from this place and we were excited to try it because the reviews are good and the pictures looked good. Ooof what a mistake. We both got chicken fettuccine Alfredo, and we were charged extra for the chicken. We didn't get any chicken with our order when it arrived. The Alfredo was super bland. The bread they serve is basically a store bought hoagie roll that they slice in half. The salad was also really meh, it seemed like the lettuce was old and they gave us the wrong dressing. The only thing that was good was the limencello cake. Wouldn't go back.
google avatar

Andrea S.

Yelp
Amazing food, Great customer service . Great place to go to when craving good authentic Italian food. Prices are also great. The sauce had such a delicious flavor. GREAT experience

Yelp
Coppola's was a recent stop on my Tour De Winston, where I have been going to my tried and true favorites and reassessing my thoughts on these places. Coppola's holds up to my original review. I stand by the fact that this is still the best pizza place in Winston-Salem (especially for the price). Coppola's is even more unassuming than it was a couple of years ago, because the Harris Teeter, which was the main draw of this shopping center, has since closed. Don't let this place slip by you. My recent discovery is that Coppola's has some pretty great lunch specials. Two slices of pizza and a drink or a slice of "Stuffed Coppola" and a drink (I believe) for $7. I had never tried the "Stuffed Coppola" before, but I would recommend. It is their take on a stuffed pizza and basically just has every type of meat that they could think of. If you are a meatetarian, then the "Stuffed Coppola" is the move. This place isn't going to win any awards for their atmosphere. It looks like it hasn't been renovated or updated in decades, but, in a weird way, I think that this adds to its charm. Coppola's makes a good date night spot, especially on a warm night out on the patio with the string lights. Best place to get takeout pizza in Winston-Salem.

Yelp
Ok so my daughter and I went to have lunch today I had a chicken salad that was the worst chicken ever! My daughter had a Calzone that thing was so tuff she took forever to eat we will never eat there again!
google avatar

Gabriele P.

Yelp
You are definitely stepping back in time. Greeted by an Italian lady and seated very quickly. I ordered a medium size pizza with pineapple, ham and mushrooms. It's delicious. Sadly to say that the mushrooms are from the can. But otherwise the thin crust pizza is yummy
google avatar

Bill H.

Yelp
Pizza is not all that. Their salads, lasagna plate, and garlic knots were really good. We ll return!!

Donna B.

Yelp
Great food, great service. Local, family owned business. You can taste the love! Highly recommend!
google avatar

Chrissy K.

Yelp
We had hoped to eat on the patio but they were at capacity out there so we ate inside. The booths weren't super comfy but we were there for the food so that's ok. We had about 4 different servers but everyone was very nice so not an issue there. They were out of our regular beer order then out of our secondary order too but scrounged up some bottled which was fine. Food wise we got cheese sticks which were good and a pepperoni, mushroom, onion and green pepper pizza which was also good! Overall a good experience but pricey, can't say I would eat there again tbh. $50 is a bit much for three beers, a pizza and cheese sticks.

Gianni R.

Yelp
Still great as ever after nearly 31 years in business - and I've been a patron for every one of them. My favorite restaurant in Winston-Salem

Matthew R.

Yelp
Food is phenomena. Portions are HUGE. Came in with a large group and food came out quickly. GO BUCKS

Yelp
I have been going to Coppola's since I was a kid. While it's your standard Italian restaurant and you won't be blown away but the dishes or the atmosphere, it is exactly what you expect. It's a nice but not fancy place in a strip mall that serves excellent meals. Our kids love their pizza and I especially love the strombolis and calzones (although I can never remember which one is which!). It's a great place for the price and a staple in our family as THE Italian restaurant.
google avatar

Kassidy G.

Yelp
Pizza, sandwiches, and pasta are all good! We eat here often and love it. Not five stars because I got a pickup order and my cold side salad was packaged with a hot dish of pasta and ruined the salad completely. I believe using an extra bag isn't too much when it comes to the taste of your food

Sandy S.

Yelp
Delicious food, friendly staff, and a pleasant atmosphere complete with a beautiful mural of an Italian landscape and Italian music!
