Bottom line on top: Some dishes are amazing, some are inedible (literally), and for how terrible half our food was, it was it was not worth the $70 I paid for 4 meals. Read on for details and which dishes were better. I have grown up eating at this restaurant since I was 10, I’m now 40. It’s always been so good, but something has changed. Last time I went, earlier this month, I got the spaghetti carbonara which was amazing. The sauce was thick, creamy and had that good yolky carbonara flavor, and my daughter got the basic fettuccine Alfredo which was also amazing, so this time I got the Alfredo with chicken and broccoli. Absolutely inedible. Nit even joking. Don’t think I’ve ever had anything worse. I tried to eat it, I covered it in three packets of Parmesan and a handful of salt but there was no doctoring of this dish, I couldn’t force myself to keep eating. The sauce was beyond bland, had a strange aftertaste and was very thin/watery, plus I could tell that they used frozen chicken which was tough and flavorless. The weird thing is, my daughter got the basic fettuccine Alfredo again and it was amazing again! It was a whole different ball game, the sauce was thick, creamy and had a good flavor. She was kind enough to give me the rest of hers when she was full from garlic knots. It was almost as if they had put the frozen chicken and frozen broccoli in with the noodles and then added the sauce while or after they heated it up, and the water from the defrosted chicken and broccoli thinned out the sauce. Idk, but it was gross. My husband got the baked spaghetti which he also said was bland, but he liked it. My 10 yr old got chicken tenders and fries, she said the fries were bland and soggy, but she raved non stop about how good and easy to chew the tenders were. I won’t write off my childhood favorite restaurant just yet, but I think I’ll stick with the carbonara from now on.
