The Best Korean Restaurants in Montreal | Eater Montreal

"Coq au Miel is bringing some of the best local examples of this beloved street food snack to the West Island. Their crispy Korean-style corn dogs, commonly called kogos, are stuffed with cheese (mozzarella or cheddar) or sausage (or both); stick with the basics or try the squid ink or potato versions (the latter is covered in small potato cubes). As the restaurant’s name suggests, Coq au Miel also specializes in chicken, including wings and popcorn chicken." - Holly Tousignant

Google
Korean restaurant serving halal chicken meals, but be cautioned that they also have pork grilled dishes. The mozzarella corn dogs are yummy. Clean establishment and fast service

Excellent little restaurant specializing in Korean food, offering a variety of fried chicken, corn dogs, set meals, udon, stew pots, kimchi, and dumplings. I ordered the grilled beef with salad, two dumplings, miso soup, and rice—everything was very tasty. The service was super polite and friendly. Very clean as well; highly recommended!

Owner’s were so friendly and informative about halal and the food was great! A hidden gem of local pop shop! Chicken was amazing. I would come here again!

My wife and I have been hoping for years to someday have some delectable Korean food after seeing so many tasty looking dishes on YouTube, but didn't know where to go to make that happen. We are happy to say that search is over, and *ALL* photos of their food are as good as they look, which is DELICIOUS! The food is always made *FRESH* to order, is well worth the wait and the owners are SO kind and welcoming. They are *totally* deserving of all the success and blessings going forward as they have a new repeat customer with us, and we cannot wait to order again. Thanks so much! 🤩👍

Jan 9th 2022 update: the soft tofu stew is soo good because it is so warm and soicy, the rice is perfectly cooked, I like that they put mushroom and fried tofu to soak up all the juicy soup. I would definitely order again. It is oilier than other places but spicy enough for me! I eat spicy. UPDATED review: The owner approached me and they have changed their tteok kkochi recipe to make it more chewy! I will taste it next time. I tasted the double cheese (mozza+cheddar+sausage) and it is my new favorite because I love the two cheese combination. Original review: I am so glad there is a corndog place in the west island! Finally, some korean food in the west! The korean corndogs are crispy slightly fluffy batter and i believe they use the costco beef sausage. The cheese pull is also so satisfying!! However, the tteok kkochi was a bit disappointing because it was not chewy, it was rather chunky ;(. The chicken wings were juicy!! The vegetable dumblings were nice and crispy too which came with soy sauce. I love the fact that we can out our own sauce. They have such a big variety of sauces.

If you are interested in trying some Korean food in West Island, this is a cosy petite place great for dining in or for take out. Typical in Korea, only one kind of specialty food is served in a restaurant. The chef here actually made a variety of original Korean dishes that are quite tasty and delicious. The portion is of medium size but serves well to cater for trying more variety of food.

Yelp
Takoyaki was delicious! Corn Dogs: Potato Mozza was cold :( But their Cheddar Sausage was nice and hot, really good. I was very full without bursting in pain, so I'm happy ^_^ I don't know why their fried chicken and wings are so expensive though. 20$ for 6 wings didn't make sense to me, I don't know if there's a mistake on the Uber Menu, but another Korean restaurant offers their wings at half that price. I'd understand if it actually came with sides, but the ap didn't say, so I didn't want to risk it. Maybe I would have tried it if it was full chicken legs, but again, the ap is vague, so I was a little scared to spend the money on something that wasn't clear. If I was ordering for more people, I probably would have tried the Full Chicken for 30$. Even though I paid the extra 3$ for a faster delivery on Uber, they still took an hour. At first, the app said it would arrive by 4:35 pm, then it changed drivers 1 or 2 times with a new arrival time by 5 pm. Some of the food was already cold, so I'm worried that had I not paid extra, it would have been worse. I'm not happy about that. I didn't want to trim the tip because I'm sure it's not the last drivers fault. If 15% is not enough of an incentive for these uber drivers to honor their promises, then they shouldn't be an Uber Driver. Unfortunately, I can't give a rating on the 2 drivers who took my order then abandoned it, making it take longer, this is all their fault. That's really bad. I've never ordered a small order like this before, but usually there is a minimum requirement so I did not think I was doing anything they were against. Had I known, I would have ordered for more people instead of just myself. Not happy about that.
