The 14 Best Restaurants & Bars On Bainbridge Island

Google
Great atmosphere, very calm and quiet. Carrot cake was one of the best I had. The roast beef sandwich was very good as well. Medium flat white was not what I expected. There was too much foam for a flat white + it taste more like milk than coffee.

Google
Wow simply wow 🤩 There were so many pastries I could have tried. Ended up with Zest For Life which was like a swirl of flakey pastry with lemon zest in it and cinnamon sugar on top. The flat white coffee was the best yet in the USA (coming from Australia where everyone drinks it!) Lovely outside patio area to eat and drink in the gorgeous sunshine!

Google
Best coffee on the Island. Delicious pastries. Great atmosphere. Highly recommended.

Enjoy a taste of Paris 🥐 The quaint Coquette Bake Shop is a hidden gem on Bainbridge Island. It’s tucked away in the Winslow Green, which seemed like a local spot. The pastries are phenomenal. The coffee is great! The employees are friendly and helpful! What we tried: - Carrot cake: Contains walnuts , carrots, shredded carrots, raisins with a cream cheese frosting. Not too sweet. - Quiche: Ham, onions, roasted tomatoes, Flaky crust, Jarlsberg cheese - Lattes have wonderful latte art. Tastes just as good as it looks. ☕️ This place offers many savory and sweet options. If you have a chance, sit outside at one of the tables outside.

Google
Good pastries, not so good coffee and service. When we went there were no straws for iced drinks which were only served with lids for straws, not sipping lids. They also couldn’t keep up with the level of dishes and trash. I recommend Hitchcock Cafe or Pegasus for higher quality food, coffee, and service.

Google
Best cold brew that I had on my Washington trip! Such good flavored, wasn’t bitter and burnt like the other shops I went to. Yummy London Fog too. The Zest of Life was a delicious morning bun type pastry. The cheesecake bar had such good flavor my wife and I were both shocked at how yummy it really was!

Abhash Kumar Singh

Google
This is a popup kinda bakery shop. They had a wide variety of baked goods with coffee. We got a mocha, a zest for life slice and a cheddar chive scone. The coffee wasn’t good. However, the orange croissant and the scone were a knockout. Excellent place.

Aneta Wyzga

Google
Food looked great and coffee was great as well but the girl wearing the BHS soccer sweatshirt was rude and talked about me to the other barista in front of my face. All because I was deciding if I wanted whipped cream on my mocha… This didn’t make me feel great and I wanted to cry picking up my coffee. Other than that I loved this space.

Yelp
Food: Selected a pre-made ham and roasted red pepper sandwich on a baguette (very cafe). It came tied with a lovely red raffia tie. It may seem silly...but small details are appreciated and show care in their customer's happiness and experience. The bread was delicate inside and had a lovely crust. The ham was tasty and not salty. Also enjoyed a cortado with oat milk. Nice and strong, just the way I like it! Service: Walk up and order and find a seat kind of spot. Service was pleasant and helpful when I asked for a recommendation. Salesperson was quick and efficient. Cortado came quickly...which was fantastic because we were freezing! Ambiance: It is located in a small shopping center at the end of a popular shopping street. It was cold and rainy so we chose to sit indoors. There is seating outdoors for nicer weather.

Yelp
Much better cappuccinos and coffee to be had elsewhere in Kitsap including the BI ferry terminal~ Stand out Koign Amann - don't miss this, it's masterfully executed. Their muffins are overflowing with goodness and feel decadent. You can discern the high quality butter. I was crestfallen to find that the "Zest for Life" is just sugary on the outside with not enough cinnamon and orange punch yet stodgy and far too doughy on the inside. Can't emphasize enough how nice it is to have a proper sit-down cafe with tables and bar seating AND WIFI (for the laptop hounds).

Sorn Anusorn M.

Yelp
A small cozy cafe on a beautiful island. Plenty of seats inside. The staff is very friendly. Coffee is decent and the dessert is okay. The price is acceptable. If you in need of a coffee on the way to the Olympic National, this is a good stop.

Yelp
We didn't enjoy any baked items and maybe that is where they shine. We ordered some coffee, cortado and a hot chocolate. None of it was that great. I regretted going there. I asked for lavender in mine and couldn't taste even a hint of it. If you are just wanting coffee, I recommend going somewhere else.
google avatar

Kenna P.

Yelp
Absolutely loved the Zest For Life pastry with its bits of orange cardamom flavor; I'd return just for that. Also tried the iced mocha and a ham and cheese croissant, and liked both. The homey, cozy atmosphere with jazz music playing in the background warmed my heart too. Solid bake shop that I'd recommend!
google avatar

Tina G.

Yelp
Cute little bakery/coffee shop in the downtown area. I got a lavender vanilla latte and it was delicious. We also got a macaron and a pinwheel. They were decent, but not something that I would drive to BI for. We did go a little later in the day so maybe would have been better had it been fresher. There were other items that were sold out that sounded really delicious and their bread looked really yummy. The staff was really friendly and the outdoor space was really cute and relaxing. Coquette is definitely a great place to get a snack and coffee while exploring Bainbridge or waiting for the ferry!

Yelp
The Zest of Life (orange zest and cardamom sugar croissant/muffin) was one of the best pastries I've ever had in my life. It's salty, sweet, and savory all at the same time. And the panopoly of textures gives a dynamic chewing experience. My husband and I got one to split and had to immediately go back and get two more for later. The sandwiches are delicious as well with incredible baguette bread and really, fresh ingredients.
google avatar

Chris S.

Yelp
Used yelp reviews to guide me here for a cappuccino; it did not disappoint! She got a London fog latte and it was also delicious. We got a pastry and a quiche to share - also great. Very cute center; would recommend.
google avatar

Yelp
Definitely walk the extra blocks past the tourist packed bakeries on Bainbridge Island to find Coquette in a small strip mall. There were plenty of breakfast choices, but I can't resist carrot cake and this was one of the best I've had! My husband had a breakfast pastry and it was excellent as well.
google avatar

Doug J.

Yelp
Dropped by Bainbridge farmers market and had a blueberry muffin from Coquette. Full of blueberries, nice sugar sprinkled on top, moist, and good size. Nice to know they have a brick and mortar location. I will be back lots of other goodies on the menu.
google avatar

Heidi N.

Yelp
The croissant I got here was tasty but a little soggy with no crispiness in the crust. I could only take a couple of sips of my americano. the coffee used wasn't good. When I got a replacement americano at the ferry terminal I mentioned I had to replace the coffee I got earlier from the town. The barista there knew exactly the place to which I referred. she mentioned they had switched coffee recently. I really miss the bakeries of years past in this location.
google avatar

Yelp
A darling little bakery nestled right off of Winslow! We got a Cheddar Chive Biscuit, Pain au Chocolat, mocha, and Latte. The pastries are HUGE. One was enough to fill us up for a few hours, almost like a meal. I really enjoyed the scone. The pain au chocolat was really tasty (how could it not be) but it was more bready than a typical croissant. Weirdly they were blasting Taylor Swifts whole discography there, not sure about that part of the vibe haha. Would recommend! I don't remember how much each part was but in total it was about $18 dollars.

Yelp
It's a cute shop in a small mini-mall. We only tried a couple of cookies--and they grow 'em big here. They were surprisingly hard even though it was before noon but they strangely softened up later and were very nice. The macorons looked absolutely beautiful but we didn't try any. Good stuff.

Maddie S.

Yelp
Hot chocolate was cold. Not recommend for purchase, will be disappointed. However, the brownie was delicious. Service attitude questionable. Numerous bugs while dining.

Yelp
Since my group and I were arriving to Bainbridge Island early, we decided to look for some coffee and morning snack to take out. We found this small shop with good reviews for coffee and pastries and decided to check it out! It's located next to Teriyaki Town in Winslow Mall on Winslow Way E on Bainbridge Island. It's a small to-go stand that's not connected to a building. There were tables behind the shop for customers to sit and enjoy their pastries. My boyfriend and I shared a hot London Fog which was very nice in the cold morning. Can't go wrong with an earl grey tea with milk LOL. We also ordered a ham & cheese croissant and omg, it was delicious! The croissant was very fluffy and buttery. It definitely wasn't the traditional croissant with the crispy, flakiness, but I definitely enjoyed the fluffiness of it. Loved how they heated it up for us too! There were a lot of sweet pastry options compared to savory but since we weren't craving any sweets, the ham & cheese was enough for us. Great quick spot to stop at after exiting the ferry terminal! Can't say how their sweet pastries are but seems like a lot of people like them.

Yelp
Everybody loves this place on Bainbridge. Time it right and you won't have a line time it wrong and you'll have a line but it moves quickly and services with a smile. They had some gluten-free options not enough vegan options but you could probably get by. I wish they had a vegan soup. They had a chicken curry coconut soup that looked wonderful, but obviously not for me.
google avatar

MarLissa E.

Yelp
Great spot. Incredible kouign amann! We love kouign amann and this has been are best yet. Went back the next day. "Zest for life" also excellent. Prices were very reasonable for today's normal pricing that we are all experiencing. Fine service. Lots of room. Classy and open atmosphere.
google avatar

Serena S.

Yelp
Delicious soft and flake ham and cheese croissant. Warm and cozy atmosphere with relaxing Parisian bakery music vibes and great customer service.
google avatar

Gloria N.

Yelp
Decent coffee shop on Bainbridge island. I liked the quaint ambiance in here but it's definitely not the best coffee I've ever had. Iced mocha was too sweet and felt more like chocolate milk forward. Cold brew was alright. Service was quick though. If you're looking for a local coffee shop, it's a good option. They also sell some baked goods too!
google avatar

Laura S.

Yelp
Great stop for a mid-afternoon pick-me-up. The ham, cheddar, and chive quiche was just ok. The crust was dense and chewy and the quiche flavors unremarkable. Perhaps, the microwave warmup is responsible for the non-flaky crust. The palmier was sweet and yummy. It, too, suffered from denseness and was not the flaky, crispy bite one expects. It is puzzling why both items were so tough and chewy. The other pastries looked delicious and my guess is anything not microwaved fares better. We were glad for the respite and pleasant surroundings. However, we were disappointed in the averageness (if that is a word) of the quiche, palmier and coffee.

Yelp
Good coffee and coconut macaroon. Service was pleasant. Happy customers are all around enjoying pleasant chatter without too much noise.

Yelp
Pastries are great, coffee is great, teas are great. Quick service, friendly staff, good prices. Perfect for a mid morning or afternoon pick me up and a sweet treat.
google avatar

Doris K.

Yelp
Doris Recommended. Delightful little shop. No fuss. We sat outside and ate our ham and cheese croissant. It was yummy; reminded us both of Paris. Located in a beautiful shop area, local working teenagers running the hut probably as a summer job. Older towns folk gather, sit and chat. Bicycle riders and golfers make small talk blowing onto their hot coffee. Steam billows into the air surrounding them as the morning air is light and crisp.
google avatar

Denise H.

Yelp
Took the ferry over to Bainbridge for the day and started the morning there at this place. Overall it was fine. The latte and Morning Bun was good. The Chocolate croissant wasn't how I wanted it. It did not have the flakiness that I expect from a fresh croissant. Was a little disappointed about that. Price was fair. I thought selection was a bit limited for a bakery. Ambiance was nice tho. They have ample seating area outside as well as inside.

Leonard V.

Yelp
The bakery is out of this world, the sandwiches are great plus a great looking espresso machine. Bread is awesome n the service is great

Yelp
Best third place on Bainbridge Island. The food, the staff and the coffee for the win. Get there early and grab a table or you will have to wait.
google avatar

Jillian L.

Yelp
Quick stop into Coquette to grab a drink. The place was spacious and lots of outdoor space. I got an iced latte and it was pretty good. They ran out of small cups so I had to order up a size, but they got the drink out quickly!

Richard F.

Yelp
It has low visibility compared to the places on the main drag, but had tables when others were full. Exceptional quality pastries in a pleasant environment - what more can you ask for?

Jo F.

Yelp
Is the charming café, quality food. I can't wait to go back and try some more delightful dishes.
google avatar

Esperanza D.

Yelp
While we were visiting Bainbridge island we've told this bake shop is one of the best in the area. I second this. Delicious. It's is just a little stand in a commercial area, so no tables to seat, but hey!!! In a pandemic time, grab your goodies and enjoy them at the beach. Parking could be a challenge, specially at lunch time (just keep it in mind) They've all sorts of French bakeries and their baguettes!! Oh my!! Their baguettes. So YUMMY. So far my favorite is the ham and Brie one.
google avatar

Cassandra A.

Yelp
The chai was okay, but the pastries we got were so good. The cheesecake has a much thicker crust which I prefer and the flavors tasted like a crisp fall day. We also got the chocolate croissant and a blueberry muffin. All very good, and good value. Plentiful seating indoor and outdoor.
google avatar

Tracy D.

Yelp
Got off the ferry and grabbed coffees, hot chocolate and pastries - croissant, lemon ginger cookie, chocolate chip cookies and a baguette. We were in a line about 5 or so people deep. It moved quickly. Service was friendly and helpful. Everything tasted great!
google avatar

Fenny C.

Yelp
Couldn't decide between their carrot cake or cloud brownie, so I go with the brownie, and yes it is light like a cloud not your typical heavy dense brownie. The service is ok. The place is clean. We sat outside since the weather was pretty nice
google avatar

Molly B.

Yelp
Came here as an alternative to blackbird coffee and was not disappointed. Very short line, exceptionally well staffed, ample seating and the coffee was PHENOMENAL. This will be my only coffee shop stop on Bainbridge going forward.
google avatar

Lucky P.

Yelp
The shop is large and the panini was good. There. Was good coffee and clean tables in and outside the plaza. Try the sandwich
google avatar

AJ L.

Yelp
Great stuff. It's pretty impressive the quality of food they deliver from such a tiny space. Really good cookies, surprisingly reasonable price - at $2.50 they aren't crazy cheap but compared to some other places it's a pretty good deal. My family was impressed with their croissants. If you can manage to take any of their baked goods or sandwiches somewhere you can heat them up on your own, they're elevated even further; for being served basically room-temperature (apart from the muffin) it's all still surprisingly delicious. The "cloudlike" brownie was interesting, almost kind of more like an airy cake than brownie-like in texture but definitely a rich enough chocolate flavor to satisfy. I would definitely get the Ginger Molasses cookie again, probably my favorite of the things I tried there. That said, seems hard to go wrong here!
google avatar

Kailia A.

Yelp
My bf and I stoped here to split a sandwich. We tried the ham and Brie, it was pretty good! We loved the chewy baguette it was on and look forward to trying other flavors. We did find it odd that the sandwiches were not refrigerated. My lack of stars is due to the "croissant" well, that's what they called it. To be blunt and honest, this was the worst croissant I've ever had. I don't know how they consider it that when the consistency was like bread and was not flaky what so ever. Very odd. We also ordered a couple coffees and they told us they would be up shortly so we sat down while eating. Time went by with out them letting us know the drinks were done so I got up to ask and noticed they were sitting on the counter
google avatar

Sharon G.

Yelp
This is one of the best bakeries anywhere and it happens to be located in the charming center of Winslow, on Bainbridge Island, a place we visit a lot. The coffee is Stumptown and excellent and the pastries are real confections and are fun to pick out at their small, cozy hut. What to get (in my opinion): Kouign-Amann (flakey, crystallized sugar, buttery, and just an excellent texture of crunchy outside and soft inside) - do not miss this Morning Bun (imagine a freshly made dough with cinnamon, sugar, and orange zest) - this is it Also excellent: Baguettes - excellent and chewy Baguette sandwiches - my favorite is the mozzarella and tomato Italian sausage pie Brown butter shortbread cookie
google avatar

Kiana C.

Yelp
Cute little bakery cart on bainbridge island. The perfect treat if you miss the ferry and have to wait for the next one, as it's very close to the ferry dock! The best part of the sandwiches are the bread. The bread was so soft and buttery - not the type of baugette where it's hard and hurts your teeth to bite it. The fillings were good too. The cookies (unpictured) were a bit charred/burnt, and they didn't have the capacity to heat up items before giving them to customers as they only have a warmer that takes a while to heat up.
google avatar

Ben S.

Yelp
Grabbed a pastry and coffee as a mid morning snack to tie us over until lunch. We liked their little stand and the plaza its located in. The reputation of their bakery preceded them and their pastry lives up to the hype. Coffee was quite good too!

Daria M.

Yelp
You had me at a treasured gathering/third place. With parking!! It can't be all things to all people. I for instance want lots of GF at my ideal bakery. But bakers don't much like GF baking, I fear. So, the usually fast service, wonderful interior, jovial owner, patio, available bathroom etc. are more than special, on this island.
google avatar

Richard U.

Yelp
I love stopping by this place whenever i do an excursion to Winslow on Bainbridge Island! I have developed a bit of an addiction to their peanut butter cup cookie which is sooo good! Looks like a Reese's peanut butter cup melted on top a peanut butter cookie! The best version of a peanut butter cookie! I desperately need to branch out and try more items here as they all look amazing!

Samantha B.

Yelp
The pastries are hands down so good. My absolute favorite is Kouign-amann. You cannot find that anywhere else and be this good. The staff is so friendly as well. Just amazing.
google avatar

Sterling M.

Yelp
This place is a MUST STOP for anyone visiting the island. Quality coffee drinks, amazing baked goods and friendly staff. This place checked all my boxes. Their carrot cake was fantastic. Wife picked the winner. Baked ham and Brie croissant! Would definitely get that next time!
google avatar

Eujue L.

Yelp
Came here for a quick morning coffee and snack since we were waiting for our table at a restaurant. I got a ginger molasses cookie and a small soy latte! The cookie was very buttery and had slight hints of ginger. I typically don't like ginger but this cookie balanced the flavors very well. It's also a snack that is big enough to share! As for my soy latte, it was very smooth and the espresso was not burnt. Highly recommend coming here for a quick snack or afternoon coffee -- you will be greeted by kind faces!
google avatar

Kyle L.

Yelp
I really love this cute little coffee shop and it's the only one I go to whenever I cross the water to get to bainbridge. It isn't even an indoor cafe, it's just a cute pop up kiosk that sells good coffee and delicious baked goods. Idk if they make it somewhere in the plaza but they come out real fresh and it's one of the better bakeries I've been to since moving to Washington. Highly recommend if you're in the area, it's one of my favorite places to stop by especially when we want to head west and need a snack for the long drive. PS they make really good sandwiches too
google avatar

Matt U.

Yelp
We were coming to downtown Bainbridge to visit blackbird bakery, the favorite bakery of my wife since time started. We happened upon this place while walking towards it and figured we should probably stop and check it out. What an absolutely brilliant little spot this is! It's a smallSet up similar to many of the coffee stands we have an eastern Washington. They serve a variety of baked goods As well as dessert type items. Our eight-year-old is a huge fan of baklava, so naturally we had to get some of that, and we got a variety of other things. Everything we had was excellent! One of our new favorites is the Kouign ( pronounced Queen) - Anywhere we see one we try it, and the one they have here is one of the better that we've tasted! Paired with a rule that they called zest for life, and dubbed the combination the "Royal Duo". Each item that we tried was light, just the right amount of crispy and incredibly flavorful. The options were plentiful and they got people moving through the line quick. The folks running this place have some serious talent! This was a solid find and great place that should work its way into your carb rotation if you're in the area!

Yelp
Conveniently located close to the Seattle-Bainbridge Island ferry is the business core of Winslow. Specifically Winslow Mall is where Coquette Bake Shop and Creamery is situated front and center of the courtyard area (6/16/18). Clearly I am late to the local residents party, as it has been fairly established and widely popular. I admit that I usually make an immediate beeline to another proximate bakery/cafe from nearly two decades of habit. But then competition is good and the locals and visitors alike savor what each spot showcases. Heck, Shoreline could only wish to be blessed with even one business with that level of experience! It is a former cart converted to an enclosed micro-cafe that offers a terrific line of baked goods and crafted beverages featuring Stumptown beans. With the sidewalks filling with pedestrians due to this morning's nearby farmers market in full swing, I was lucky to find parking and queued up. This was a good opportunity to assess their morning's selection. A plus to learn that their production kitchen is just upstairs. Pondered a trio of demi baguettes or giant croissants (with cheese and ?), ended up with the latter. I brought my own plastic container which was soon filled with a ginormous pain au chocolat, a morning bun, another similar one but with orange and cardamom (?, had a catchy monniker), an apple pastry, and a chocolate chip cookie. Anyways, these purchases were larger in size and total cost was a bargain to comparble sites in Seattle. Down one star only strictly due to my *own* subjective opinion of size, lamination, sweetness, and specific texture of the cookie. Disclaimer: I studied and worked in all things viennoserie, patisserie, and boulangerie in Seattle, Paris, and Aurillac France. Plus have eaten way too much of my share from many shops in the greater Seattle area. Again, thanks to local resident and avid Yelper, George S. who was adamant that I needed to check out Coquette Bake Shop and Creamery. Great quality and definitely has its loyal clientele.
