Corn Man

We were exploring a bit of LA and came across Corn Man. It turned out to be one of the best places we visited throughout our entire trip. Even with a bit of a wait, it was more than worth it. It's got just the right balance of flavor and texture. The corn is tender but still has just a little crunch and the seasonings are perfect. The atmosphere is enjoyable and interactive there are groups of people having a great time in line, which proves to be a pretty quick moving line once the vendor arrives. What stood out for me was how much cheese is slathered on the Corn making every single bite remarkably satisfying. Now, if you are in LA, this is a must try. Sure, it gets late, but it's worth the drive and the wait. We can't wait to return for more!

We are from Brazil and happened to find this amazing spot in LA. Absolutely worth the wait. We suggest that you try both corn in the cup and in the spike. I’m pretty sure we will have dreams about it. Super tasty, soft and crunchy at the same time… thank you, Corn Man!

Flew in from Canada to try corn man. Thought it was sketchy buying corn from a man in the middle of the night. Turned out to be a life changing experience. 5/7 Corn was as sweet as the dream I had that night. Would buy corn from sketchy man again.

Long wait but definitely worth it. Perfect flavor steaming hot fresh and juicy corns. Is the best place to get your corn on the cob or corn bowl. This is a must if you like corn and are in LA.

We stopped by on a Saturday night around 10:45pm. They don't open until 11:30pm but there was already a line of about 20 people. I want to say they arrived closer to midnight. Once there, the line moved quickly. I'd like to say it took us 15-20 minutes to get to the front of the line. We got two elotes and two esquites. I loved the amount of cheese they put on the elotes. The elotes were warm, sweet, juicy, and cooked well. I know it's late, and it sucks to wait, but it's definitely worth trying at least once. Some groups had chairs and we're playing games, and just making the most of it. You just have to be patient. Will be back for some elotes soon.

The best elotes on earth! 🙌🏾 I make sure to order every time I’m in town. This vendor is only open late nights and depending on where you’re staying you may have to travel a bit to find him but when you get there it’s all going to be worth it! The corn on the cob and in the bowl are both delicious!

I have been looking for the best Elote (street corn) in Los Angeles, and I was extremely surprise with this GEM! We arrived around 11PM and had to wait in line until 1AM - I could not believe it (next time Ill bring some chairs). It was super cool to see the relationship they have built with the community, as I could clearly tell there were many frequent clients. We ordered corn in a cup and the cop with all the topping - SO TASTY! Worth the wait and the timing. I will be taking people from out of town so they can try this Elote! Heads-up: the google maps locations takes you to the corner of the street. You need to cross the street and go to the parking lot.

fun to eat, I think I waited 30 minutes on a Tuesday? $4 for elote in a bowl, $1 for a soda (drinks are chilled in a cooler with ice). he came around 11:45-11:50PM and I waited with a friend. don't know if I'd wait an hour for this like other reviews say but after a long work day this was really fun to eat. I had cash with me, they don't take venmo or zelle I think would recommend mixing if you get a bowl and the toppings do add up so be a little careful if you're mixing it. would go again!

I was super skeptical at first about waiting almost an hour in line for corn but it was like the best corn I've had. My friend and I showed up at around 12:40am and didn't get to buy some corn until 1:30am. I was getting pretty tired of waiting but when I got that fresh corn I was so happy. At first I didn't really mix it too much and just ate it and I thought it was alright but when I mixed all the toppings together with the cheese, butter, sour cream, chili, and lime it was phenomenal. The more I ate it the more addicting it was. I really liked the chili they put on top of the corn and it was definitely the star topping. However the corn itself very caloric considering the amount of butter they put on it but it's definitely amazing. My friend and I actually had some tacos too and we put the corn on top of the tacos and OMG please try this combo. The corn was super sweet which paired so well with the savory tacos. The corn man is also super kind and nice and we love supporting local businesses. I'll definitely be back but I'll probably try to come later into the night so the line isn't super long.

BEST ELOTE EVER!! I have been coming to Corn Man for years and it's always consistent. Whenever my craving for elote kicks in, I have to make a stop here. I waited about 1.5 hours in the cold and it was so worth it. The price for a bowl or corn on the cob has increased to $4. The line forms at around 11pm, but he does not arrive till around 12am. I usually get the elote in a bowl rather than on the cob since it is much more convenient. PERFECT for a late-night snack. -- Corn in a Bowl [5/5]: YUM. They put mayo, butter, chili powder, cheese, and a squeeze of lime juice on top. It is a bowl of deliciousness.

Upping my review to 4 stars. I would give 5 stars if the corn man had an exact time he came. Even though yelp says 11:30pm, their Twitter account says 11:15pm, it varies and really depends. I finally had the chance to try the famous corn man at midnight. Honestly, the corn in a cup (esquite) is like any other, but what sets it apart is the generous amount of cheese and butter on top. The portion was well-packed, and at just five dollars for a soda and an esquite, it's not a bad deal. What really makes this spot attractive is that it's open late at night perfect for satisfying those late-night cravings. Located by a parking lot, there's plenty of space to park, making it convenient. I paid in cash, and I'm not sure if he accepts Zelle, but overall, the experience was positive. Would I come again? Definitely, if I find myself craving corn late at night. I got pretty lucky with the wait time, which was short, and I enjoyed chatting with the señor about his life and stand while I waited.

Okay, I love corn. Pretty much in all its forms (bourbon, popcorn, etc.). When I heard of this place, I knew I had to go. Because, when you hear of a place/person called 'The Corn Man', you know you're gonna get some corn. Well, elote and esquite, to be exact. The prices are great here! As of 4/2024, it's $4 each. The corn is pre-cooked or steamed and when you order, you just go over your options like if you want the spice or not and if you want to have some lime squeezed onto it. I got one of each - the elote and esquite. Essentially the same thing, just a different way of eating it. Same ingredients. Such a simple, but very delicious bite. Up there with as good as I've ever had. So, I was skeptical or just wasn't sure when I first saw the times listed. But they really do set up and start up around midnight. When you show up to the location around that time, you can definitely see the line forming, waiting for them to begin serving. It's pretty chill in line and people are generally friendly because we're all happy and excited to be trying this soon. From what it sounds like or what I gathered during my visit, this gentleman has been serving up corn for decades. If what I heard is correct, you gotta love the hustle and I love supporting folks like this. Definitely would like to come back and more often, but I think it's geared towards the night owls or people getting out of the bars because of the hours. And I live pretty far away.

Came here on a Wednesday night around 12 AM. The line was pretty long when we got there but it moved pretty fast. A plate of esquites cost 4 bucks and you're able to request more toppings if you'd like. Upon eating, I've got to say, this is very worth the wait. The corn was so flavorful with all the toppings on top and I also brought along a bag of hot Cheetos and crushed them on top of the esquites. HIGHLY recommend the corn man and will definitely will be coming back in the future for more!

Best elote ever! My friend showed me this place after going to an event and it was so good! Line can take up to an hour sometimes but I think it's worth it + an LA staple. Their champurrado is super good too. Love the chocolate flavor + slight cinnamon taste

I love how moist the corn was and crunchy which is perfect! The hype is real ya'll but I do recommend to come a before 11:30 because there was a huge line. He came before 12 am. The service was great the son and father were amazing. The ambiance is okay, there is a lot of parking for ya'll to park!

You definitely need to be part of the late night crowd to seek out this spot, as usually the line forms around 11/11:30 and you may not get your order until midnight when the corn man typically comes. The corn man operates out of a parking, which has ample free parking for any customers to park their cars. For $4, the elote and esquites are definitely a solid choice! They slather on a generous amount of mayo, butter, chili powder and cheese on top both items. DO make sure to bring cash so that you're able to pay for what you order! The man is so sweet, so definitely come support this business! :)

I love, love, and Absolutely love this corn man he's so nice, his corn is so fresh and they are always happy. Even though he comes out at night he is still the best. I honestly would choose his delicious corn then making it at home on my lazy days. He adds alot of chili which is what I like and I love to support small business on wheels;) aha anyways you guys should check him out he comes between 11-11:30pm and usually there is a big line like all the time. There is a parking lot your able to park in and you just have to wait for his car to show up.

Been going to them for years . The family is very friendly I like the mix he uses . Only downfall he's becoming more of a rockstar and won't show up till random late night times he will show up but I think 10 got pushed back till 11 1130 maybe even 12 but at the end of the night after a long night a cactus cooler and a corn bowl hits the spot .. it always tastes the same they never skimp you out and they are always very friendly .. I'm happy to see them continue to serve people throughout the years !!

Corn Man is my go-to spot in LA for satisfying late-night cravings with absolutely delicious corn on the cob. However, the surrounding neighborhood can be a bit sketchy, making it feel unsafe to hang around waiting for your order since there's only one corn man working.Despite encountering a few arguments with random passersby staring at me, the corn here is undeniably tasty and a definite must-try for those late-night munchies.

I've been wanting to try this guys elote for years! I'm sad to say I was quite disappointed. They say he arrives around 11pm so we got there shortly before and there was already a huge line. He didn't arrive until almost 12pm. About an hour later it was finally our turn. I got the esquite and it was good but not worth the hype at all! It just tasted like an average esquite to me. Rico tejuino around the corner has the best esquite I've ever had, but they close super early. This is a good little place to try for a late night snack but absolutely not worth waiting 2 hours for. I noticed when we were after 1pm there was almost no line, so I would wait a while I before going if you don't want to wait in a huge line.

Sure the line is long but it's definitely worth the wait, plus the line goes really quickly! If you don't wait want to wait that long Sundays, Mondays and Tuesdays are probably your best bet!

The corn man and his son opens around 11:15 at night. A line starts forming before 11 pm. It is definitely worth the wait! My boyfriend and I came here in October 2021 and I remember the corn being $2 for a corn on the cob. The first time we visited there was a huge line of more than 50 people waiting on a parking lot. We ordered them and tried them in our hotel. If we stayed, we would've definitely gotten seconds! Although the price increased, I would still recommend this spot! We returned to LA for the corn. It is $4 for corn on a cob!

Update: Writing another review because I'm so in love with the esquites here! It's always consistent with the corn man. I'm a little upset that he's increasing the price to $4 but honestly I'm still going to keep coming here. I like bringing a side of hot cheetos to put with my esquite. The cheetos give the esquite a nice crunch!

I got curious about the corn man after seeing this Yelp page. I wanted to know what's the hype for ppl to start lining up before he arrives. I got there around 10:20pm on a Friday night, first circling around trying to figure out where he'll be located. I happened to see some people already lining up in a random public parking lot behind the 99 cents store and figured that's where he'll be at. Yelp says he opens at 11:15am (should be pm as this is a typo) but the corn man didn't arrive until 11:45pm so I waited well over an hour. The line was pretty long by the time he came. Corn on the cob or bowl are $3 each and a bottle of water is $1. I ate a bowl on the spot and it's slathered with a generous amount of mayo and butter and piled with contija cheese. If you get it with chili it really packs a punch. It's hearty for what it is and filling. I decided to take the cob home to eat. After about 30 minutes when I got home, the corn on the cob was still hot and delicious. In fact the corn on the cob is juicier! Really delicious overall. Was it worth the wait? Yes but not before he arrives no. I would recommend going after he opens because it's probably 30-40 minutes wait instead an hour plus depending what time you go. The reason why the line is long and slow is because people buy a ton of orders and it's just the corn man and a woman slinging it all.

Corn man is the best elote in LA. No other elote compares to this. He loads up on all ingredients, and that makes it soooo good. He also sells esquite if you don't want to get messy. During the winter time, they sell really delicious champurrado that's smooth and perfectly sweet. With the recent rains, they have been doing drive thru! I would gladly do drive thru rain or shine.

This is hands down the best corn and esquite you can buy. I've been coming here since I was a kid and it never disappoints. The line can sometimes be a wait so try to arrive earlier. But it is honestly worth the wait, bring a chair and sit back and wait. He also sells champurrado, sodas and water.

A local legend serving some of the most comforting & cheapest elote and esquite in LA! Yes it's true-he's only open from 10pm-3am and the lines form early, so it's best to get there as early as you can to beat the line. Once you get your chance to meet face-to-face with the father & son duo, you're happily greeted and quickly served. You have a choice of getting elote (corn on the cob) or esquite (corn in a bowl). Either one you get, you'll get a HEAPING of cheese, mayo, and butter slathered on. Opt for the chili powder and freshly squeezed lime to add an extra kick! The portions are plentiful, your arteries may disagree with your life choice, but your soul will be left content and full. Honestly it doesn't get better than this. I've loved coming here for a long time, and will keep coming back for many years to come!

Corny cheesy deliciousness! Need I say more? The week I was in LA, there was an event happening in Corn Man's usual spot. So here we are past 12 o'clock circling a park to look for the Corn Man lol Find the long line and you will find the Corn Man I decided to get the esquites (bowl) versus elote (stick) because tbh I would probably end up with corn in my hair and all over my clothes. You can tell the Corn Man is so hardworking and passionate about what he does. He quickly scoops corn into the bowl, tops it with mayo, butter sauce, tajin, and tons of (cotija) cheese. Sorry lactose intolerants. It was warm and perfect in 60 degree weather. One of these days, I will be back for the elote. Thanks for reading my reviews! Let me know what I should try next!

My favorite spot ever! it is so good and so fresh and feels so at home. The service is very welcoming as well we definitley love it here $4 for a corn loaded with the toppings is also so bomb. The chili is also homemade and it definitley has a kick to it. the only downside would have to be the waiting but other than that i recommend just bring chairs and a blanket

I just want to start with I would give this place 3.5 stars but it isn't an option. It's good but I think I just got a bad esquites. I went around 12:00am and got my food around 12:50am-ish. I got two esquites and 1 champurrado (I think the guy called it cham cham?) I asked the guy and he said they open around 11pm-11:30pm and end whenever there are no more customers. It was 1am when I left and it was still busy so I estimate it to be 2-2:30am when they pack up and go home.This place is CASH ONLY so no Cashapp, no Venmo, no Apple pay. [Prices as of 7/14/22]: Esquites/Elotes: $4 Champuraddo: $1.50 Soda: $1 [Taste]: Honestly, I was really hoping for it to be extraordinarily good but was hit with not that refreshing corn. I think the corn was just not good that day (I'm giving them the benefit of the doubt that they're corn is super good and that mine was just not that great). My corn tasted old. I do like the flavors of the esquites in general from other vendors. I like the added touch of salt and lime to the esquites. Unfortunately I didn't get lime on mine because I communicated my order wrong. Next time I will try the elotes because I'm normally an elotes type of person but it was late and I just wanted to go home after waiting so long. Aside from the esquites, I wanted to try out the champurrado which is a mexican hot chocolate but corn based. I thought it was weird that it was corn based but it's SOO GOOD! It's such a good beverage to drink when it's cold outside. I would definitely get it next time. [Parking]: There is sufficient amount of parking but it's super dark so be careful of glass bottles and running over them. It's going to be behind the 99 cent store. [Wrap up]: I think I would be willing to give this place another try but with an elotes because from what I saw from other people's order, it looks amazing! Also I will definitely be getting that champurrado again, it's just so good! I think if it's your first time, I would definitely try the elotes first then the esquites based on my previous experience with elotes vs esquites. Might need to bring a chair because I was waiting for a while. I saw another person sitting in a small foldable chair and I already knew that person was a regular there. After I try the elotes, I will see if it triumphs the other corn vendors. But until then, I will say that this place is like any other corn vendor but opened late.

THEY OPEN AT 11pm! Don't follow the Yelp schedule, idk why Yelp hasn't change it yet. I feel like the schedule they open is not a schedule that Yelp would have but yes don't go early and wait all that time haha but I love the corn here! I hate the wait at times cause it could be upwards of 2 hours! Yes guys a Disneyland wait time for corn but honestly it's pretty good and worth Atleast one try if anything but I know you would be coming back for more like I did. a great place to take a friend or friends to catch up during the long wait you could catch up on a lot of things

We got 2 esquites each and also got the champorado, which is like a Mexican hot chocolate. The corn was so so good. I loved the cheese and the spice of the chili. It's $4 a bowl and it was definitely the best I've ever had!

The corn is hot and fresh and $4 for a bowl or corn on the cob. Very generous with the toppings so don't be shy to ask for more if needed. and don't forget to tip the team!!

It is amazing how the Corn Man is still here. When I was a kid, the price was around $1.50, but is now $4.00. Soda is still $1.00. However, it is still worth it. I usually get the bowl with everything on it (some blue bottle of margarine, mayo, cotija cheese, chilli) and I ask for lime/lemon on top. The citrus tone helps cut all the fat on it and is a perfect balancer. Line is longer than I remembered, probably due to the popularity and social media. Just remember to not litter in the parking lot because the pigs will complain about it, as well as his son and daughter and him will end up cleaning the whole parking lot. There is a trash bag the corn man keeps near him, so use that. It is sad to see there are always litter of the bowls, soda cans, etc in the parking lot.

THE BEST ELOTE I HAVE EVER HAD! SO YUMMY AND CHEAP! MY NEW FAVORITE ELOTE MAN! GREAT SERVICE! This corn was everything and more! He is loaded with customers who line up in a big circle to get some damn corn, and now I can see why he is so highly rated. He is so respectful, clean, and funny. His son is also an amazing man who always keeps the conversation going, and is really funny. He's always thanking us for waiting and being patient. Corn: 10/10! The lemon is what really did it for me! My boyfriends gets it just with lemon and chili, it's really amazing both ways! Loaded up corn will always be my go-to! Price: 2.50 a bowl and totally worth it!!! It's a big bowl! Hours: he's there everyday from 11-3 am ! We will 100% be back all year around for this amazing mans corn. There's a ton of parking and he's open super late with fresh ingredients! It's a yes for me!

*****UPDATE***** The Cornman will be updating his prices on the 1st of July to $4 for both elote and esquite. No matter what the price I still feel like it's worth going. $3 a bowl is already crazy cheap but I understand from the inflation that's going on that it's necessary as a businessman.

Every time I'm in LA, I make it my mission to eat corn and drink their champurrado as many times as I can before I have to leave LA. HIGHLY RECOMMEND, he's there about 11:30, but get there earlier and wait in line cuz people will definitely wait for his corn!
