"The Corner Tavern is one of our go-to bars in the hood. Friendly bartenders, good food that's not fussy and well priced. Perfect spot to kick off the night, have a night cap, or chill and watch a sporting event. It's the kind of spot you can enjoy when it's packed to the brim or empty. It's sub street level which makes it cozy and inviting. Best bang for your buck in the area." - Amalgam

"The Corner Tavern is an underground pub on the corner (duh) of Mass and Marlborough. It’s a casual neighborhood hangout place with a menu that’s much better than standard bar food, thanks to things like prosciutto fig pizza and 12-hour brisket tacos." - Dan Secatore

Cozy, neighborhood tavern located in Back Bay near Newbury Street. Tasty food and cold drinks. Highly recommend!

Hiden Gem in the area, will come back. You need to try the wings, they are something else! Service is great, Tim, Anthony and Adam do a great job taking care of your needs. Tavern looks great and music is just at the right volume, well done!

Cool pub. Went for a beer and had a delicious grilled chicken pesto sandwich with a side salad. The price is very good for the quality of the food.

Late night after The Roots show @ MGM Sunday night. Needed food before the drive home. Easy to find by foot, nice little walk. Cute bar, friendly patrons. Bartender was rude and seemed bothered by my presence, but again, it was late. The dude that took my order was super friendly, told me I made good choices, and he was absolutely correct. Ordered the chicken pesto sammy with roasted potatoes and the hummus plate. DELICIOUS!!! Had a few bites in the car before my drive, and just finished the hummus today. All in all, I'd definitely return. Food was great, music was on point, and I enjoyed myself. (Thanks to the nice dude at the Kenmore for the recommendation!)

I have lived in this neighborhood for 6 years and long overdue to write this about the "Best Kept Secret" for the best, friendliest neighborhood place to eat, drink and meet friends. The food is excellent (meatballs are my favorite app!), the drinks are amazing and you can come here at lunch time and talk and do some work or later that day to watch a game or just hang. I love this place and I would tell all my friends especially on game day for Bruins, Celtics and more! Best, Kim

This should be a warm and cozy place (and that is how I remember it from years back), but we popped in recently on a freezing, gusty late November day and they had the air conditioner going full blast even next to the windows. I pointed that out to the bartender thinking it was a mistake and was told that's the way the bartender wanted it. Pretty much a STF up reply. Look: the place is empty and it's not lunch or dinner so it's not like you're doing that for a big crowd or to help out the guys slaving over a hot stove. Seems a little egocentric and very deprecating to the customers. After hanging out for a while with our coats and hats on and icy hands, I asked for the check; I was given a total instead of anything itemized (so, no chance to check that it was correct). What's more, the suggested tips were mathematically way over the true percentages. It'll be there forever because it's a sweet location, but I suggest they need a self-inventory to get back to the warm and cozy neighborhood vibe. I brought my guests there with promises it'd be a friendly classic Boston bar, and we definitely did not feel it.

My favorite part about this place is you can peek inside thru the windows at a higher level so it looks like you’re watching little bugs at a museum
