"Sitting at the corner of Merritt Avenue and Martin Street is Corsair Distillery. Corsair has earned dozens of awards for both their beers and spirits and is often recognized by international publications. The Wedgewood-Houston location welcomes visitors to tour daily, beginning around 12PM. Though they can generally take you on a tour right away, they typically recommend scheduling ahead for larger groups. All of the tours end with a tasting of Corsair’s full lineup, including flights of cocktails as well as the occasional single-barrel bottlings not found anywhere else. This is a must-see for any liquor/spirit lover!" - Platoon

Had a wonderful tasting experience at the bar on a stormy Fri afternoon. We beat the crowd and had a very nice experience tasting all the offerings. Found out that we like gin, if it is well made. When we got home, we learned our Corsair makes a great 'Last Word Cocktail'.

We really enjoyed our tour of this place. The woman giving the tour was very knowledgeable and pleasant and had a good sense of humor! It was nice to get to see how a small business operates and to hear how they experiment with different flavors to achieve what they are looking for. I enjoyed getting to sample the different types that they produce and really enjoyed the different flavors they were able to bring out. Would recommend this place to anyone who enjoys trying different stuff other than the name brands you're accustomed to.

Some people like to find the local museum or other site, we like to find fresh beer and craft spirits. We had signed up for a 3:30 tour but got into Nashville a little early. They worked us into the 2:30 tour which was almost entirely made up of a bachelor party. 15 new friends from all over the country! Love the craft places since it seems like every employee has several hats and knows more about the business. Corsair was no different. Spencer was our tour guide and bartender, but the other guy out front was also mixing drinks, running the register and guiding us through the tasting after the tour. I'm not a beer or spirits snob because I love the creativity that comes with a small place trying some new twist or something I haven't seen before. After mixing me a Sazerac and pouring out the Red Absinthe rinse Spencer handed me what he had just poured out saying it would be a waste. Wonderful flavor and not the strong side effects I have had before with an absinthe drink. And the guard in the warehouse, keeping grain thieves under control was a really cool dude.

Awesome tasting experience! The staff was so friendly, except for Copper. He's a feisty one! 🐈

We did the distillery tour and it was so much fun. Cassie was an incredible guide- full of knowledge and hilarious commentary. Fantastic vibes and cocktails at the bar too, we will definitely be back!

Google
Went on the first day they were open to the public after the Covid-19 lockdown. Had a great tour with Cassie and Sarah took great care of us at the bar. Took home for bottles and would definitely recommend a stop at this location. Sarah and Cassie made it a ton of fun!

Didn’t go on the tour as I didn’t have the time, so I can’t vouch for that. I can, however, vouch for the excellent service I received, the explanations of different processes and ingredients that lend the spirits their flavors and the fair pricing. I was able to sample three different whiskeys to determine which would be best to take home to my lady.

I almost hesitate to share what a unique experience the monthly Corsair craft cocktail classes are because they are small, intimate and nearly a secret! I have attended May and June and we have not only learned a LOT about the chemistry of making the perfect cocktail, but have met great people and have had so much fun! The classes are limited to eight crafters, so the experience is very personal. Rachel, Spencer and Joe have all been such knowledgeable bartenders and really explain the process thoroughly. You learn how to make four themed cocktails for the evening and then you are free to get behind the bar and craft your own masterpiece. Highly recommended experience...but book early!

Yelp
I love this distillery. We took a tour with Amanda. She was awesome. We were heading out to another distillery or so we thought. Ended up drinking here after the tour and never left. Staff is great, drinks were delicious, and the tour was fun. This is a short tour as it is very small, but samples are plentiful. My favorite was the rye whiskey. We will return on our next visit.

Leigh N.

Yelp
Fantastic afternoon with Amanda at Corsair! We enjoyed seeing the equipment used to make the spirits they sell, and learned about how they use their barrels multiple times for different spirits (spiced rum is the second spirit stored in barrels, etc.), so that said spirits imbue some of the flavors of the barrel and the spirits that came before. It was just me and Dad at 2pm on a Sunday. But mostly we had a great time with our tour guide/bartender Amanda. She told us about the various spirits during our tasting, she told us about the history of the company, about how she ended up in Nashville, what her favorite restaurants are, and was genuinely interested in us as tourists. It was so much fun. We had planned to do some other things, but ended up just spending two hours at Corsair tasting spirits, honey, barbecue sauce, and anything else they had there.

Yelp
You should advertise that 20 minutes til closing, no one can be served. I raced across town to take a bourbon connoisseur here to taste your bourbon 20 minutes til closing only to be told no. He's from NYC. Who knows when he'll be here again. Just disappeared with the lack of hospitality this town used to have.

Yelp
Signed up for the tour ($20) and it was well worth it! You get a tour of the back area where they produce their liquor which takes about 15-20 min and then you come back out to the front area and sample. The tour was informative and she was really knowledgeable about any follow-up questions we had. We got to try 6 tastings on the standard menu which included a vanilla vodka, two gins, spiced rum and two smoked whiskeys. Decent pours too! After we finished the six, she also let us try a couple other interesting ones like an oat whiskey, red absinthe (very licorice-y) flavor and another that smelled like an IPA. Each drink was so unique. Very cool to get to try everything one after another. Afterwards we got a cocktail (very fairly priced at $12) and sat on their outdoor patio where a friendly distillery cat was also chilling by the name of copper!

Lily W.

Yelp
I'm much more of a winery person than a distillery person, but my bf loves whiskey and as a compromise, he let me pick the place to ensure I would also enjoy the visit as well. The search was easily concluded when I saw this location has a cat. Reservations were easily made online the day before - they do accept walk ins as well but I didn't want to risk it since it was a Saturday. We got lucky with parking and found a spot right outside the distillery. Our tour guide was really great and informational, and the tour ended with some tastings at the bar. Besides whiskey, we also tasted a vanilla vodka, 2 types of rum, an American style gin, and a bonus tasting of their red absinthe. I knew I couldn't finish the generous pours the tour guide was giving us, so I recommend asking for tiny pours if you're the same and know a lot of the liquor will just be wasted in their buckets! After the tasting, you can buy some of their glassware or bottles to take home, but we didn't end up buying anything because nothing really stood out to us. Instead we headed over to their other bar to try a cocktail made with some of their spirits. I tried a gin and rosemary fizz which was much more enjoyable to me than their gin straight, though I really don't think gin is something most people sip neat anyway. My bf got an old fashioned which he enjoyed. The best part was sitting next to the cat at this bar. His name is Copper and he is well socialized! I would go back just to see him again.

Yelp
A very creative distillery. We have been Corsair fans since before they moved to Nashville. Corsair continues to experiment and produce unique products. The tour provides an overview of their production process. The tour guide was knowledgeable and answered all of our questions. The tasting was also informative, providing details of each of the six sampled products (and a few others).

Lilly F.

Yelp
This location is the perfect size for small groups(1-3 people). The tours are like a mini skirt long enough to keep your attention short enough to cover the topic. Definitely worth a stop if you are waiting to checkin anywhere the drinks are smooth and if a high quality that you don't need many. The service is great. They greeted us upon entry and sue to attending others there was a little wait. We didn't get attended to first but I didn't mind since Copper stopped by to show me some love.

Dave D.

Yelp
Corsair is now making "Gintervention" Hand Sanitizer for the community and passing out for free. This means that their employees are working the production process away from their families and the owners are giving it away for free. If that is not stepping up with huge hearts I don't know what is!!! Major Hoopla for the Corsair team - I guarantee that I will visit your business when the craziness is all over and buy multiple bottles from your business. Thank you for your efforts!

Jennifer S.

Yelp
Stumbled upon this distillery that is tucked away inside Marathon Village in Nashville. They were pouring a couple of gins that aren't your run-of-the-mill gins, you get notes of citrus even. The whiskeys were equally as interesting, there was one that if you spilled it on your hand would smell like a tootsie roll, that one had that kind of chocolate note to it. I wish I could remember our pourer's name, he was awesome. He let us try a vanilla bean vodka that wasn't part of the tasting that was not sweet, definitely going to pick up that and a few others when I get back to CA and head to BevMo or Total Wine & More.

Steph G.

Yelp
This place is awesome. Great drinks, nice space for lounging (indoor and outdoor), and friendly helpful staff. Folks should not miss out on this place.

Kiley M.

Yelp
Nice staff and a company with good ethics. The tour was short, cute, and worth the money!

Kerri E.

Yelp
Great tasting and craft cocktails. Pet friendly indoor and outdoor areas. Highly recommend

Yelp
My favorite distillery in Nashville. I went there on a weekday and wound up getting a private tour with Jacob! I got to try a cocktail before and after and I opted for the sazerac (with triple smoke) and the old-fashioned. They were both awesome. The whiskeys themselves were very good - I'm partial to the triple-smoke - as was the gin, which surprised me a little bit. The tour was also very educational and I learned more than I expected about the distilling process, with extensive visual aids. As a final treat, I got to meet Darek, one of the owners (the guy on the center of the label), who stopped by the distillery that afternoon. I can't recommend this place enough, and I thank Jacob and Kylie for making the visit special.

Sharon W.

Yelp
Cats and whiskey. Enough said! Seriously though... do NOT miss Corsair! They make a superb product and are staffed with the nicest people. We had the good fortune of Elle's (L's?) undivided attention both behind the bar and on the distillery tour. She has a huge wealth of knowledge about their whiskies and other liquors along with the ability to explain Tennessee's arcane liquor laws. The drinks are on point and reasonably priced. The liquor is very high quality as are the mixers. Larry S. had the Sazerac, which came with a sidecar of absinthe. I don't remember the name of the cocktail I had, but it contained whiskey, lemon and smoked rosemary. I've had cocktails with smoked rosemary before, but not like this one! It was truly incredible and Elle was kind enough to explain the smoking process so I can replicate at home. The tour comes with a tasting and we purchased two bottles of their fine, fine whiskey. If you are lucky enough to live in Nashville you should put Corsair on your regular rotation. If you are just visiting, you MUST make room in your schedule for a stop here.

Victoria R.

Yelp
Took a tour with my friend and luckily we got a private tour being the only ones who signed up for the slot! You learn all about their process of making different spirits. Sampling was a great experience! Informative and fun tour.

Chris M.

Yelp
Had to make a little trip outside the main city area for this one, but certainly worth it for the whiskey connoisseur or just simply a whiskey wanderer. Notched right into the corner of their block, the main entry and serving area probably only holds about 35 some odd people, but it wasn't too busy on the day we were there and it was nice to just chat with one of the staff members about the distillery and the different batches they had to offer. They do allow for you to go through the flight which was quite convenient and certainly allows for you to sample all they may have them offer as they do have a couple interesting small batches in their collection. They also have a small little gift shop which I was able to pick up a small whiskey glass to add to my collection. The room is full of barrels and they also over offer

Roy R.

Yelp
I did there tasting and the fellow that gave us the tasting was awesome! The creativity that this distillery is producing is amazing! I loved there barreled gin and the smoked whiskey. Those were my favorites they are very complex with all the flavors and aromas!

Yelp
Heads up! There's 2 corsair distillery locations. This one is for the Old Marathon Motor works building. Entrance to Corsair is at the East end. Parking is readily available, "happy parking" is $3/hr The main parking lot is $10+. Super secret useful tip... Do the Greenbrier tasting first and park in their FREE parking. Then mosey on down to the mayhem at the motor works. The whole building has cool equipment and parts from its bygone days. Really cool for anyone mechanical. Corsair tour is cool, they're a much smaller whiskey distillery and have the freedom to experiment with some really cool stuff. Be aware...The entire building was awash with "woo woo girls" pre gaming for their bachelorette party. We lucked out and didn't have any on our tour. I hate Gin...but have to give it to Corsair for their American Gin and Barrel aged. It's very drinkable without that "uppercut" to your nose that most commercial fins have. My personal favorite was the American Single Malt Triple Smoke. It's an homage to Scotch Whiskies and deserves a mention. Tour guide was confident, knowledgeable and super helpful.

Yelp
So, some friends and I took a trip to Nashville last week and we decided we wanted to check out a distillery. It didn't really matter which one so we kind of randomly chose Corsair and lucky we did. As of this writing they currently have a five-star rating and I am happy to say that it is well earned (I'm also giving it five stars). We showed up a little before our tour and grabbed a cocktail or two (which are sold in the lobby). They have great cocktails and they make a for a nice beverage during the tour. Our guide, Kaylie, really made the tour for us. She was incredibly knowledgeable about all aspects of the operation and really seemed to have a genuine love for whiskey/the business. After the tour you have a tasting of 5 different spirits. And at 1/2 oz for each sample it's a pretty good way to get your buzz on and get firsthand knowledge of their beverages. And, in the event you find something you like you can buy it there. All in all, it was a great outing and is well worth a visit. I also really enjoyed the idea of supporting a local business making a great product.

Yelp
We decided to stop by here for a tour while we were in Nashville. The distillery is tucked away in a neighborhood just outside of downtown. They have a nice porch in front, a welcoming bar and shop when you walk in, and a small distillery in back. When we arrived, we checked in and grabbed a couple cocktails to sip on while we waited for our tour to start. Bonus - you're allowed to bring cocktails on the tour! Both of the cocktails we ordered were quite good. Just sweet enough and well thought out offerings. The tour lasted about a half an hour, then we had a tasting. Our tour guide gave us the history of the distillery, an overview of what's made at this location and their other location. She also mentioned they have a farm where they grow a lot of what is used in their spirits. I love that they do some really unique things at their distillery. One of the most unique offerings was their Grainiac which is a NINE GRAIN bourbon! How neat is that? It uses corn, rye, wheat and barley and adds buckwheat, triticale, spelt, oats and quinoa. My favorite wast the Oatrage, though. It has a unique sweetness from the oats that I haven't had in anything else I've tried! We bought a bottle to take home with us. I also enjoyed the gin they make and it'll definitely be on my list to pick up some time. I have seen it locally (Cincinnati area) before and I'm glad I have access to get some of their spirits outside of Nashville. Definitely take the time to stop by for a tour! Really unique from what other distilleries are doing this days and I hope they continue trying things and seeing what works.

Margie M.

Yelp
Best whiskey cocktail I had in Nashville! I had an Old Fashioned with rye, and my friends had an Old Fashioned with smoked whiskey. Mine had the traditional taste I love, but I'd say theirs was a little bit better. Loved the smoky smooth taste.

Jim D.

Yelp
Did the tour, good times. Actually learned a few things. Their whiskey is pretty good, vodka was smooth and gin fruity. Staff was excellent and nice

Kamilah B.

Yelp
Can't come to Tennessee and not talk whiskey! We got a background view of the distillery process and afterwards got a few rounds of tastings! I personally loved the gin! There's also a full bar to make some of your favorite cocktails. Ask for

Barbara S.

Yelp
Such a cool little spot. We did the tour and tasting with Cassy (heavy on the classy)and laughed the whole way through (also...came out a little smarter too!) Wish we could've stayed longer for a craft cocktail or two...but we were on a mission to see as much of the city while we were there. Give yourself an hour for the tour and time after to enjoy a drink

Cortney K.

Yelp
We arrived on a Saturday afternoon, we didn't want to wait until the next tour so we tried out some tastings. The tastings were 3 for $5 or 5 for $8. First one I tried was the Pumpkin Spice moonshine... I would suggest not to go with this one. Not sure what I was expecting but it didn't remind me of Pumpkin Spice. Second tastings was Wildfire whiskey, which was good. It had a smoky taste that I really enjoyed. The third tasting was quinoa whiskey, which was made from some quinoa. I didn't finish this one, couldn't, it just was something different that I couldn't swallow. This was a chill place to try out some interesting tastes.

Chris W.

Yelp
In a town full of distilleries...Corsair stands out as the best I have been bringing myself and friends to sample Corsair's labels for a few years now and they consistently impress not only those I bring but myself. I'm a big bourbon and scotch drinker so it begins and ends with "Triple Smoke" it's a like a combination of both and in my opinion the best local whisky you can buy...and yes I'm including Jack Daniel's as "local" Hit up either location for a flight of their products, hit up this location for cocktails...you won't be disappointment you did.

Carmen M.

Yelp
Last day in Nashville, came to this location inadvertently since we were going to their other location which is just as great. Glad we came in. We did a tasting and then I decided to get a drink which was spicy but great.

Sara M.

Yelp
Love, love, love this place! Mostly love the cat, Copper! The service was impeccable! The girl who did our tasting was extremely knowledgeable and friendly. She really made our visit amazing! We did a flight of five tastings, $8. Really reasonable! The location is a little hidden if you're a tourist, but it makes for a fun adventure! Try the vanilla Bean vodka and the red absinthe, you won't regret it! Can't wait to go back to this place!

James B.

Yelp
We visited the newer location this trip and had a great time. The bartender, Spencer, was great. Super friendly, great drink suggestions and made for an overall awesome visit. Had some nice cocktails, even found a gin drink my wife liked, which is unusual. Also realized we liked Absinthe. Who knew? Got to meet and play with Copper, the distillery cat. Will definitely have to return next time we are in town.

Natalie L.

Yelp
Entertaining tour, tasting and outside the box flavor profiles. Came home with a few bottles since more wouldn't fit in my suitcase. Left my credit card and they kindly mailed it back. If you like creative spirits I recommend you stop at Corsair.

Pat B.

Yelp
Came by on a Saturday afternoon and had a really nice time. Tasted a nice varied flight and had the Old Fashioned which was excellent! Autumn, Nick and Sarah were awesome.....will definitely come back!

Kristen C.

Yelp
Pros: Animal friendly (love the bar cat roaming around-meow). Super cool staff. Large assortment. Great cocktails at $10 each. Staff friendly. Cons: Pricey. They are VERY proud of their booze...bring your wallet!

David Y.

Yelp
On our way to Tulsa, stopped in Nashville and had to check out Corsair Distillery, craft distillery renowned for its unique mash bills, including things like quinoa and buckwheat. Made its name with a triple smoke whiskey in which the peat and smoke with cherry and other woods. This is a small operation so the tour is run casually, but it is no less informative for that. Our tour guide, whose name I regrettably have forgotten, asked ahead of time how much our group knew about whiskey and geared her presentation to that level. She was great about answering me and encouraging questions, and when she didn't know the answer to some questions she didn't BS about it she just said she didn't know. That is refreshing. The tour costs $8, or $10 if you want a souvenir glass. For a small distillery I don't have a problem with that. At the end of the tour you can sample 5 alcohols that they select, +1 additional that you choose. We tasted a vanilla vodka vodka, a gin, and 3 whiskeys. The amazing thing about Corsair in my opinion is how smooth all of the drinks were despite the short aging process. The head distiller here clearly knows what he's doing, and I am looking forward to trying the reasonably priced bottles I bought afterwards when I get home. Also , our tour guide, whose name I again regrettably forgot, gave some great recommendations for local bars, restaurants, and entertainment venues after the tour. Just great.

Jackie M.

Yelp
This was so fun, we went to the distillery and tried some different types and had a great conversation with the guy behind the bar. It was super cute inside and then the other side was a brewery so that was awesome. The best of both worlds, so we went to the other side and had a beer and had a great time. Definitely worth a try if you haven't been.

Mike M.

Yelp
First stop on our quickie Nashville distillery tour. We recommend stopping at as many craft distilleries as possible. These are really people who are in it for fun and love of the biz and innovation. Certainly not the money, most spend allot for some years, before there is much financial return. Lot of bragging rights though. We tasted about 5 different spirits, and honestly, all pretty harsh and face smackin'. Some good flavors thought. Grab some of the spiced rum, we heard it was going to be discontinued. It is a well appointed place, with a cocktail bar and tasting bar. We did not make the tour, maybe next time.

Jennie B.

Yelp
Interesting quick tour! Staff was friendly and the tasting flavors were pretty unique. Made reservations Friday morning for a Friday evening tour.

Jenny E.

Yelp
When you're ready for the best in both barrel aged whisky, this is where you go. Knowledgable bartender. Great cat. Highly recommend the Steam Punk.

Mike Z.

Yelp
What a terrific place. The tour was great, a lot of their whiskeys really spoke to me. It's in a great old building. I'm really glad to have been there and buying their booze for home is awesome.

Shem I.

Yelp
Didn't go on the tour as I didn't have the time, so I can't vouch for that. I can, however, vouch for the excellent service I received, the explanations of different processes and ingredients that lend the spirits their flavors and the fair pricing. I was able to sample three different whiskeys to determine which would be best to take home to my lady.

Brian H.

Yelp
We had the best experience here! Sara was awesome! Dreamsicle was so good. I highly recommend.

Adam B.

Yelp
Very good array of whiskeys. They have good gin too. I like that you can get a cocktail and then take that on the tour

Ashley H.

Yelp
I LOVED this Distillery Tour. The liquor was smooth and Cole was incredibly friendly and accommodating (we showed up late). The drinks were delicious and they have Nintendo and Nintendo 64 to play while you wait for your buzz to fade.

Megan F.

Yelp
Phenomenal spirits and awesome tour!! My fiancé and I wanted to try a taste of Nashville so we found this little gem of a distillery. Corsair distillery is a must see place if you enjoy fine cocktails and spirits. The tour takes about 45 minutes and reservations are recommended since it's a smaller place. We had a cocktail at the bar while waiting for the tour:) which was fabulous! Mine was an Old Fashioned with their rye bourbon and had excellent smokey notes. My fiancé tried the special daily cocktail of cold brew fashioned--think cold brew coffee meets old fashioned and he loved the flavors! The tour shows you the equipment and tour guides give their philosophy on Corsair--ask about why they chose the logo--booze for badasses! I loved it. I liked the bourbon and Vanilla vodka the most. The tasting at the end of the tour is a generous pouring of 5-7 of their spirits! We would have bought bottles after the tasting but we flew to Nashville so next time we drive we are stocking up! Make this place your entertainment for people who enjoy finest crafted spirits!

Mike C.

Yelp
This place is amazing. Sarah was fantastic. She took the time to answer any questions we had. She is extremely knowledgeable about all of the spirits that are offered at this incredible distillery.

jonathan G.

Yelp
Great local distillery. They have a top notch product which were all very unique and flavorful. The mint julep cocktail very refreshing and perfectly made. The location is beautiful and they have games like connect 4, tic-tac, cards and more. Really great choice to try some local in-House made whiskey. The offer a tour of the distillery which was reasonably priced.

Brett A.

Yelp
Kara took us on a tour of Corsair Distillery Headquarters and did a wonderful job. She walked us through their process and keyed us in on what made them unique. Their lobby and tasting are is one of the best we've seen and they even have a distillery cat! They let you take as much time as you want sampling and don't push you into purchasing anything. Their history is pretty awesome and this is a great craft distillery to visit if you are near Nashville. They also have a regular bar with their spirits and an outside area if you just wanted to stop and have a drink!

Tina R.

Yelp
Besides the AMAZING cocktails at this place (highly recommend the Mrs. Doubtfire), the staff is super friendly and talented! Highly recommend this distillery to anyone exploring Nashville

Crystal R.

Yelp
Corsair Distillery was definitely an amazing tour which was only a whopping 8 bucks per person. The host of the tour was extremely knowledgeable, passionate and friendly. The tour is detailed so you will be able to witness the beginning and end process of a good cup of whisky. There are so many unique flavors including a flavor referred to as a Chocolate Tsunami. If you are part of the tour you can also get a cool Whisky Glass at the price of 2 bucks. Also in the lobby area you can hang out drink and play some Mario Kart. Super Awesome Time!

Angie T.

Yelp
Seriously one of the best tours in Nashville. Both locations are super cool, but I'm partial to the one by Marathons simply because there are also beer choices after the tour. I've always been a brown liquor girl and this tour turned my opinion on Gin. Definitely worth the trip!!! And the variety allows for GREAT gifts!
