Fantastic dishes with unique touches that make this place really special! We came here before a show at Signature Theater and absolutely loved it. The whipped ricotta appetizer was excellent and surprised us with the depth of flavor for such a "simple" dish. We had the white pesto rigatoni and fettuccini, both of which were excellent, especially the house-made pancetta in the fettuccini. Big fan of the Aperol spritz menu, too. We'll definitely come here again!

This Italian restaurant is such a hidden gem! Their pasta tastes truly homemade — fresh, flavorful, and comforting. I wouldn’t mind a touch more protein 😉 Their happy hour is a fantastic deal — every dish we tried was tasty, and the drinks were well-priced. The atmosphere is warm and inviting, perfect for a relaxed night out. Definitely a spot I’ll be coming back to!

I had such a wonderful experience at this restaurant! The place is absolutely beautiful — every detail is carefully thought out, creating a warm and inviting atmosphere. From the moment I arrived, the staff was incredibly kind, attentive, and genuinely committed to making sure everything was perfect. The food was outstanding 😋 full of flavor and beautifully presented. I was truly impressed by the service and can’t wait to come back. Huge compliments to the entire team, you really make a difference! 💛✨

May 2025, Arlington, VA. All excellent. Pesto pasta with Shrimp 🍤. Alfredo with Chicken 🐔. Salad. Cappuccino. The pasta is fresh. Take home what you couldn't eat and it's still good two days later. Great bar. Great service. Highly recommended and I will return. JWhyman. ☆☆☆☆☆

Corso Italian Restaurant offers an all-you-can-eat brunch on Sundays for $29, which is a very reasonable price for the DMV area—perfect for those who enjoy variety and unlimited dining. Overall, I’d rate the food a 3 out of 5. Focaccia Rosemary Bread – Amazing! Highly recommend starting with just one serving since leftovers cannot be taken home. Salads (Caesar & Italian) – Both were overdressed. I would recommend using less dressing initially and offering extra on the side so guests can adjust to their preference. Berry Bowl with Mascarpone – Delicious, but it felt more like a dessert than a fruit bowl since it was mascarpone-heavy with just a touch of berries. I’d suggest moving this item to the dessert section. Pancakes – Excellent! Fluffy, flavorful, and one of my top picks—I would easily order this as a main entrée. Eggs Benedict with Pork Belly – I don’t eat meat, so I couldn’t fully enjoy the dish, but after adding salt, black pepper, and pepper flakes, it was well-balanced and tasty. American Breakfast with Bacon – A solid choice and cooked well. Italian Sandwich with Fries – The sandwich was good, though it would be better with a thinner bread or more meat. The fries that came with it were outstanding—a 10/10 recommendation. (Note: Fries ordered separately are good, but not quite the same as the ones paired with the sandwich.) Spaghetti al Pesto – Tasted freshly made and flavorful. Cannoli – A good, classic finish to the meal. Drink (Strawberry Rossini) – Personally, not a fan. Overall: The brunch offers great value, especially for the price. Some dishes shine (pancakes, focaccia, fries, pesto pasta), while others could be improved with adjustments (salads, sandwich, fruit/mascarpone bowl). Service was good our server wqs attentive and the Decor was inviting and modern.

My recent visit to Corso Italian Restaurant in Shirlington, VA, was nothing short of spectacular. From the moment my group arrived, we were warmly welcomed by JR, who set the tone for the experience with an exquisite wine tasting and cheese pairing. The Robiola Bosina cheese was my personal favorite—its creamy texture and rich flavor were divine—though the truffle cheddar was also a standout. The Avoglia Fiano white wine was light, crisp, and perfect for a spring or summer evening, while the Avoglia Primitivo red wine was smooth and paired beautifully with our Oxtail Ravioli entrée. Before being seated, we were treated to a selection of spritzers, including the Shagliato, Hugo, Aperol, and Lambrusco Spritz. While each was visually stunning, my personal favorite was the Hugo Spritz, thanks to its delightful Elderflower liqueur touch. For starters, we enjoyed a generous spread: Gamberi Fritti, Seared Tuna Crudo, Whipped Ricotta, Little Gem Caesar, and Burrata Caprese. As a self-proclaimed “cheesaholic,” I gravitated toward the Burrata Caprese, which featured fresh, juicy tomatoes and a light balsamic dressing—a simple yet flavorful dish that I absolutely loved. Our entrée selection was equally impressive, with dishes like Oxtail Ravioli, Lobster Ravioli, Orecchiette with Sausage & Broccoli Rabe, and Pan-Seared Scallops with Mushroom Risotto. The unanimous favorite? The Pan-Seared Scallops with Mushroom Risotto—perfectly cooked scallops over a rich, creamy risotto that left everyone at the table raving. Just when we thought we couldn’t eat another bite, we indulged in an array of desserts: Mascarpone Cheesecake, Hazelnut Chocolate Cheesecake, Fig Leaf Panna Cotta, and the Circus Maximus Sundae. Somehow, we found room to savor every bite, and the Circus Maximus Sundae stole the show! We wrapped up our lunch with Espresso, Frangelico, and Espresso Martinis, the perfect way to end an incredible meal. Corso Italian Restaurant offers a gastronomic experience that is both refined and welcoming, making it an ideal spot to enjoy delicious food and drinks while catching up with friends. Its prime location in the heart of Shirlington makes it a must-visit. I will definitely be coming back!

I love Corso! I have been for lunch, brunch, dinner, Aperitivo Hour and even a private Lambrusco Tasting class! The food and drinks are always amazing, and the service is spectacular! I highly recommend visiting them!

Google
Just wow! Came here Saturday afternoon and stumbled upon their all-you-can-eat brunch. For $29 a person you get to try an incredible variety of freshly made pasta, brunch dishes, and other Italian delicacies. Highlights included the Burrata Caprese (so, so fresh — each tomato was perfectly ripened and sweet), the Fettuccine Alfredo, the Spaghetti al Pesto, the ricotta pancakes, and the cannoli. The service was impeccable too - our waitress was so nice and attentive. We will definitely be coming back here again soon, next time to try their dinner menu!

Yelp
The pastas are incredible! I had the oxtail ravioli, spaghetti and artichoke agnolotti, and I'm still thinking about them. The standout for me was the scallop risotto! Everything is handmade, super flavorful, and the staff was so kind and welcoming to. Also, so many perks! We went on half price wine night but there's also $5 martinis, $15 pasta nights, and a little gourmet market right inside where you can grab sauces, snacks, and Italian goodies to-go. Definitely adding this to my regular rotation. Highly recommend!

Yelp
Bartenders were very nice, espresso martinis are to die for. Food was very good too. Great vibe, but small space. Get there early to grab seats at the bar. Service was good. Highly recommended.

Yelp
Went here for the first time during Restaurant Week with my wife. When we sat down, the hostess gave us a heads up that they were short-staffed with only a couple of servers, so we were a little concerned as we've had some poor luck at restaurants lately with service, but to be honest I'm not sure I would have noticed if she hadn't said anything. It did seem there were fewer folks inside when we sat, so maybe that helped but it was not a problem at all and we very much enjoyed the meal and ambiance. I got the tuna crudo, lobster ravioli, and hazelnut cheesecake and my wife had the gamberi fritti, chicken corso, and tiramisu and it was all pretty great, especially the gamberi and the ravioli. Before our desserts came out, our waiter apologized for the delays (which again, I was not even on the verge of noticing or worrying about) and offered glasses of champagne for us on the house to make up for it. They really went above and beyond to make us feel comfortable and to enjoy our meal.

Yelp
I stopped by Tuesday afternoon for lunch and I was blown away by the ambience and especially the food. The bartender was busy but the manager (light skinned, tall, man bun) was very helpful from the fabulous espresso martinis he made me, to the food recommendation. The food was TOP TIER! I had the tuna crudo, scallops & risotto & tiramisu to wrap it up. I will definitely be back & I have already told everyone I know about this Gem.

Yelp
Food was delicious. Service was wonderful but the ambiance was less Italian than one would hope. A new favorite among several good choices in Shirlington!

Yelp
Service: very attentive server. He made sure everything was ok. Didn't rush us through the courses. Food: came for the $29 AYCE Brunch. Love the small plates and we were able to get through a lot of the options. I liked everything. I ordered a spicy Bloody Maria and it was actually spicy! Ambiance: love the interior. It was an Italian bistro feel with the cutest backroom that has a modern twist to the paintings. There was also a side private room with a larger table for a bigger party. $29 AYCE BRUNCH was worth it!!!

Yelp
*****Brunch review***** Recently stopped by for brunch and enjoyed my afternoon here. The All-You-Can-Mangia option ($29) is the way to go! Everyone in your party must participate and each person can order two dishes at a time. There's a two hour limit, which is more than enough time to make your way through the menu. Their full beverage menu is offered, but they also have $9 mimosas and bloody Maria's. Favorites here included: little gem salad (huge and enough to share with 1-2 more people), burrata cypress, rigatoni al la bolognese, Calabrian meatballs, and the fries (we almost skipped these, but highly recommend!). I also had the espresso martini (couldn't pass it up) and a strawberry rossini bubbly composition. Both were good, but preferred the martinti. Service was great, with our waiter being super friendly and patient as everyone (we were a party of 8) decided what to order. Metered parking is available, as well as a parking in a nearby garage (free).

Yelp
The food was great. We had the scallop risotto, focaccia, kettle gem salad, chicken cordon and meatballs. All was delicious. The wine was also very good. We were with friends so we celebrated by having tiramisu for dessert, which was excellent. The staff was very attentive and helpful. Looking forward to going back again.

Yelp
Located in Shirlington, I never have too many issues finding parking, there's plenty of street parking and garages around. We made a reservation and they service was great. We did have a small issue after we ordered the Arancini where it didn't come up till after our entrees because I think it was forgotten but they ended up taking it off our check and apologizing. I ordered the Lambrusco Flight which wasn't bad but I didn't really enjoy the Rosso. All drinks came out fairly quickly. My friend ordered the Corso Sour which was delicious. For our entrees, I ordered the Campanelle Alla Romana and my friend ordered the Spaghetti & Meatballs with extra sauce on the side. They came by with extra fresh parmesan. Everything was delicious and I definitely would like to come back to try additional items. I did also order the French Fries with garlic, parmesan and Italian herbs. The fries were crispy but wish there was a little more flavor or tossed in more of the garlic. For dessert I opted for the Hazelnut Chocolate Cheesecake which was great and would have paired well with some coffee. It was quite sweet but still tasted great. Overall great service and good food.

Yelp
Friendliest, most attentive staff! Everyone was very kind so that was impressive right away...then came the food...delicious. We had the gem salad, scallop risotto, focaccia, meatballs, chicken Corso, and tiramisu. All meals were amazing and the ambiance was incredible. Highly recommend Corso Italian! I can't wait to return!

Yelp
It was my first time going here and I was very impressed mostly with the service. Our waitress (can't remember her name but she was a red head, highly recommend having her serve you. She was awesome!) and the owner made sure we had a great experience and even brought out some dessert for us on the house. I would recommend trying the scallop risotto and getting the Gamberi Fritti as a starter. I would say the portions are a bit on the smaller side but nonetheless still very delicious! Until next time!

Yelp
Brought my niece here to celebrate her this weekend. I missed the big 13th birthday celebration plus she brought her grades up so tonight was her night! Guapos was her first choice, but she changed her mind when we were quoted 45 minute wait time. Corso is located literally right next door and they were able to seat us right away...right on time. The wait staff and manager that was on duty tonight were very accommodating and attentive. When they he noticed we were celebrating something special they moved us to a more fancy celebratory space which was a very nice touch! I didn't get our waitresses name however she was very attentive and I loved her energy. Everything she recommended was delicious. The shrimp appetizer, mussels/clams, salads, lobster ravioli, truffle fries- everything was delicious! Fresh and full of flavor. With plenty of parking, Corso is the perfect date night, GNO kind of spot! I'm looking forward to bringing my hunnie Happy Yelping!

Yelp
Came here for the AYCE brunch for $29 per person with friends. Most of the plates are pretty small, so not really meant for sharing, and they allow up to 2 dishes per person to order at a time. The food was all good but nothing outstanding or special. I enjoyed the egg in purgatory and the rigatoni bolognese. Service was good and attentive. It's a cute restaurant in Shirlington to meet up with friends, but I wouldn't come back for the food alone.
google avatar

Yelp
Received the most individual and polite service from the moment I walked in until the minute I left! This place is very cute on the inside and perfect for date night. If you want to enjoy their outdoor area it's nice and small! Onto the food...I really just had a craving for meatballs so I got the meatball sub! 10/10!!! The cheese on top is to die for and I loved the sauce and that it didn't have too much sauce on it. The garlic parm fries were perfect and the right amount of soft I love with fries! Now that bread and balsamic vinegar mix is everything!!!

Yelp
Sorry this is be more direct and loud and clear that this really did suck on so many levels that where's the health department when need them. This was really disgusting that even meals that came were straight out of expired shelter. The chicken Alfredo pasta.....in a Chinese bowl that had boil bits of ham?!! the pasta...WOWTF have haven't had paste in my mouth since I little ...this was just bad. The Caesar salad was just too damn warm and spoiled how long out?!?! on flat plate kinda told what was up before it the floor. Again what's with all the damn Chinese bowls ...this was to be a bday dinner at a classy place....the fail in every way possible. Even asking for a regular glass of soda than some tacky club glass that would break for what points. Not happening here. All this crap for almost $200.!! :( So when they came and ask we can speak to a Manger...don't need to waste time anymore.

Yelp
Corso is a cute gem in Shirlington that was good, but not amazing. We came to Corso for weekend brunch, which is $29 for all you can eat small plates. You can have up to two plates per person on the table at a time, and there's a good mix of classic brunch dishes (like berries, pancakes, and eggs benedict), Italian mains (a few different pastas and meatballs), and side dishes (olives with cheese, carrots with ricotta). I think it's helpful to be aware that most of the plates are absolutely tiny here. We honestly laughed when we got the pastas, because they were literally on plates the size of teacup saucers- there were not more than two or three mouthfuls on most of the dishes. The same was true with the berry bowl, it was literally two strawberries and four blueberries. It's strange because some of the dishes are a little more full-sized, like the little gem salad, but most of the portions are extremely small. It's nice because you get to try a lot of different things, and I understand that for an AYCE option it typically is not full-sized portions, but it also seems a little silly for something like pasta (pesto spaghetti is not a costly item) to give such a teeny portion. You definitely cannot share most of the plates. Overall, the food was good but not outstanding. There were a few things we really enjoyed. The Corso honey toast was our favorite- it was focaccia topped with ricotta, honey, and pistachios, super delicious and really unique. We also really enjoyed the pesto spaghetti dish. They also had one of the best espresso martinis I've had- it was a little less traditional because it had Kahlua and Bailey's as well, but it almost tasted like a milkshake, it was so delicious! Some of the other dishes fell flat- the eggs Benedict was just okay, and the meatballs really needed salt. I was a little surprised that with the brunch deal, there was not also an accompanying beverage deal- you had to order each drink separately and they weren't specially priced. I believe mimosas and Bellinis were $9 and the espresso martini was $14. Our server was excellent and very attentive, but the team was a little all over the place- some of our plates got lost in the mix and had to be re-ordered, and we saw a few of our specific orders get brought to multiple other tables (not ours) and then back to the kitchen. There was one specific runner who seemed really out of it, so I don't know if this was a more universal problem or just an issue with that person. I think the advantage with a place like Corso is there is something for everyone, and I would absolutely come back for HH or to try one of their other meals- brunch just was not a wow for us. But I'd come back for the espresso martini any day!

Yelp
This small business is an absolutely gem. The service and food were impeccable. JR the manager was excellent and just made you feel like family. My friend and I experienced the baby gem salad, Caesar salad, scallop risotto, and lobster ravioli. In addition, we had several martinis. They have $5 on Tuesday's which is a steal. This is definitely a place that I will constantly patronize.

Yelp
Whenever I pop in town for work, Corso will be on my list of places to eat. I've been twice and both times were delicious. Pesto dish and bolognese the second time. Pesto was better than bolognese, if you ask me. Great service. Good food. Fantastic wine.
google avatar

Yelp
If I could give this more stars, I would. In house made pastas done right. I have not had anything here that isn't delicious. Ambience is great and service impeccable. Get here pronto!

Yelp
So I got to visit Corso Italian right in Shirlington~ A woman-owned Italian spot, and you know I looove Italian Cuisine so I was excited for this one! Here's all that we got: Seared Tuna Crudo Burrata Caprese Lasagna Scallop Risotto Fettuccine Alla Carbonara Campanelle Alla Romana Focaccia Corso Sour Phony Negroni Mascarpone Cheesecake Peppermint Chocolate Mousse (Seasonal Special~) They pride themselves on their house-made pasta & focaccia, and it you can definitely taste it in the quality! My favorite dishes were definitely the Scallop Risotto, the Lasagna, and the Mascarpone Cheesecake~ fantastic items to share family style with your table. The service though I have to say is definitely noteworthy! The hostess and servers took such great care of us, super friendly, gave us good recommendations for food/drinks, and just overall was a pleasant dining experience.

Yelp
Solid girls night spot. Attentive service and cute ambiance. Everyone enjoyed their food, no complaints! Drinks are a good pour.

Yelp
This is such a cute Italian spot in the heart of Shirlington. This is great for a date night or girls night out with friends. The interior is really beautiful and fancy, but not too snotty if that makes sense. You can definitely stop in here for a quick bite to eat or enjoy a long date night. The service is always incredibly friendly and quick. My favorite thing on their menu is there, Bolognese But tonight I was feeling basic and got the spaghetti with meatballs. Such a beautiful spot that I think should be more busy. Parking can be free across the street, but there's also a paid street parking

Sylvester R.

Yelp
Everything about our first visit was perfect! Norman provided excellent customer service and was extremely helpful with our food selection. The environment was peaceful; the food was delicious, and everything is handmade. They focused on preparation of my wife's food to make sure they address her food allergies. We will definitely come back and bring friends with us the next time.

Yelp
Great Bottomless deal!!! we did the bottomless option! (Why do the a la carte when bottomless is $29/ person!) I thought the menu was the perfect size because it allowed us to try everything on the menu before filling up, I was stuffed by the end! Good mix of breakfast food and some pasta! So fun!

Yelp
We made reservations today for Easter Sunday. First David our server was amazing he made sure we had everything we needed and was very attentive. The restaurant has all the vibes of an Italian restaurant in Italy. The food was fresh we had the all you can eat option. It was amazing and did not dissapoint. We definitely will be back.
google avatar

Raghav K.

Yelp
The ambiance, service, and food genuinely was really really good! I did end up salting the pasta + adding some extra parm to adjust seasonings to my liking but it was so delicious! The house made focaccia was also good!

Yelp
We gathered for All You Can Mangia Brunch at Corso Italian in Shirlington--$29 per person for unlimited Italian bites, Saturdays & Sundays 11am-3pm! Restrictions include a 2-hour limit, full table participation, and 2 plates per person at a time--but that didn't stop us. We still mangia'd our hearts out! Faves: Strawberry Rossini, Little Gem Salad (not so little!), Burrata Caprese, Omelette Corso, Rigatoni Al Bolognese, and Calabrian Meatballs.

Frances S.

Yelp
Great service We ate here today for the second time at Corso Italian. The food was terrific. Our server JR (David) was an outstanding server. We enjoyed his hospitality and the food. He can make a mean Sangria. We were so happy about our server and the food. Compliments to the chefs who took their time repairing the food. I tried to leave a review but I write to you all. Thanks we be back.

Yelp
I was looking at the brunch menu after a haircut in the area and one of the employees came out to let me know about the happy hour and 5$ Martini Tuesday and even gave me a menu to take so I came by around 6:30 that day. The employee I had met was the bartender and had shown me a seat at the bar where they do HH. The french 75 was delicious and probably going to be something I order more often, the corsopolitan was sweet but not overbearing and I finished off with an espresso martini which was strong for sure but I loved getting to try the martini menu. They also have HH food, I got some Parmesan fries which were a nice snack. It's a very cute and clean establishment, a lot bigger than I expected when I walked by so definitely will be coming back either for brunch or the pastas!

Christine ..

Yelp
All you can eat $29 per person, with small plates of each dish, but was only able to order a couple rounds. We waited over 40 min for food to come out, and then when it did we were missing dishes and were given dishes we didn't order instead? It is not worth the value, food was mixed up, wait is too long.

Mila L.

Yelp
Service, our waiter is nice but the wait for your food is extremely SLOW as a slowpoke the turtle will be faster. There is a two hour time limit with all you can eat, but waiting for the food and getting the orders takes abnormally long. Our orders are all mixed up too. What we actually ordered did not come and we already finished our first serving. Then it's another long wait to place the next order, all the while not getting plates from our previous round still. Very frustrated with the experience and not coming back again.

Yelp
Absolutely amazing dinner tonight! Great service and if you are craving a hearty Italian meal in a cozy and romantic setting this is your place. They have great indoor and outdoor seating. We started off with little gem salad, tuna crudo and artichoke agnolotti. The spicy sauce (Calabrian chili emulsion) was so delicious. The little gem salad could use a bit more sauce, but it was refreshing. My absolute favorite bite was the Campanelle Alla Romana! order it!! All the pasta is made in house - so saucy and great portion sizes. The veal was delightful as well- definitely can be shared with at least two people. The Corso chicken had a superb lemon garlic sage sauce - and usually I don't touch any greens but that broccolini was too notch. I LOVED my Hugo spritz. Every day from 3 to 6 PM they have happy hour so the spritzes are $9 along with negronis. My husband got the espresso martini and gulped it down lol! Our server Sam and Manager JR were very attentive , we had an amazing time! Parking is super convenient with a few garages nearby. Such a great place at Shirlington village, highly recommended!

Yelp
I spontaneously decided to go to Corso for the first time after seeing an Instagram ad for their summer restaurant week menu. The restaurant is nicely appointed, with Italian inspired declarations. The bar had two TVs (both muted); one showed an old Italian film and the other with a Stanley Tucci cooking show. I ordered a salad, pasta, and tiramisu from the restaurant week menu. The meal was good but the dessert was underwhelming. The Hugo Spritz I also had was good. The service was also good, attentive but not intrusive.

Yelp
Smaller Italian restaurant in the heart of Shirlington. We went on a weekend and there was ample parking in the covered garages. This was helpful as it was sleeting outside and the garage was just around the corner. Made reservations for lunch. They have a la carte or a prix fixe menu which are both the same options. If you're planning on eating a lot go for the $30 prix fixe. The portions are smaller but they keep coming for 2 hours! Pasta was cooked to perfection and not overly sauced. Buratta with tomato was light and a nice complement to the heavier pasta. The dishes were smaller in size but we didn't feel overstuffed when we left which was great. They offer a flight of Lambrusco which is a rare treat. If you're interested in trying unique slightly sparkling wine I'd recommend trying it. Service was attentive which made the experience even better.

Yelp
Had the best italian dinner here! The atmosphere is warm & inviting & was the perfect spot for us to enjoy a cozy meal. The service was impeccable & we love that they offer not only a great happy hour, but also have weekly deals as well! Here's a breakdown of my meal: - They have a great spritz menu!! Loved the Hugo and Cider spritz and they are HUGE (22 oz.) - Espresso martini was super good and loved the presentation - The whipped ricotta came with perfectly baked focaccia bread and the spread was SO good - The Chanterelle Arancini was filled with mushroom risotto & mozzarella - v solid appetizer - Burrata Caprese was so refreshing and the tomatoes were ripe - Loved the lobster ravioli! The pink sauce was delicious and they didn't skimp on the lobster at all - Huge fan of the Campanelle alla Romana pasta dish. Loved the spicy smoky sausage - Choosing our own knives for the Tuscan steak was a fun experience and the steak was tender with an aromatic rosemary-garlic flavor - Both the hazelnut and cannoli cheesecake slices were so delicious. Super decadent and creamy

Yelp
Would def recommend the scallop risotto. Super flavorful and the scallops were cooked perfectly. I just wished there was more. Cozy atmosphere and looking around, the food looked very authentic. Overall a good experience.

Yelp
Updated review: I went to Corso soon after it first opened and found it to be good but overall relatively mediocre. I am so glad I gave this spot another try now that they have been open for more than a year. Corso exceeded my expectations on my second visit, and I wish I had gone back sooner! The menu was much improved, the service and ambiance were great, and the scallop risotto in particular was out of this world. We had excellent cocktails and wine. And they have a Monday night special where the pastas are all $15 which is hard to beat. An excellent neighborhood restaurant, and I look forward to returning.

Barbara F.

Yelp
I went to Corso to celebrate my birthday (I put that info in my reservation). It was a delight to be wished happy birthday by every staffer who greeted me. The food was delicious and Kia my server was amazing. I loved the festive tiramisu. I'm so glad this gem of a restaurant is in my neighborhood!! I'll be back. Often!

Corso is a new addition to Shirlington Village and is a worthy dinner spot. It's a bit upscale but not stuffy or precious. It falls in between the two established Italian restaurants here (the casual, simple and excellent Stellina and the white tablecloth Osteria da Nino). The room is lovely. Service is terrific. There's a full bar. And the food features some ambitious and creative pastas as well as regional classics like cioppino and porchetta. Our experience was mixed but mostly good and we'll be back to try more. The featured artichoke agnollotti appetizer is a big winner: rich and lemony with a rich buerre monte, crispy artichoke strips and shaved Parmesan. Get it. The little gem salad is enough to share and perfectly dressed -- a great complement to the rich pastas. I didn't love deconstructed salads, but this one was lovely. The featured campanelle pasta was also delicious, married only by the fact that the pasta was overcooked. The big -- and puzzling -- disappointment was the side of broccolini, which was either boiled or over-steamed. I mean, we expected sauteing, or a dressing, or garlic, or something. That was strange.

Yelp
Came here for the first time with my family to celebrate a birthday. I was pleasantly impressed. The place was had a more casual but still classy feel so it would be a good place to go for a casual lunch or fancier dinner as we were doing. Our waiter was very nice and the service was timely. They have many selections of spritz's and I went for the Hugo spritz, which was good but wasn't as sweet as I would maybe have liked. They had little crackers on the table for finger food while you wait which were tasty. We got their focaccia to start which was warm and tasty. For my main I had the rigatoni alla bolognese which had a good flavor, tasted like I would expect bolognese to. For dessert we got a cannoli cheesecake on the house for the birthday and we also ordered the hazelnut chocolate cheesecake and tiramisu. Everything was delicious! I am interested in going back here to check out their brunch as it looks to be a good selection!

Yelp
Highly recommended. (A+) First, and foremost the service was impeccable. We were seated, offered water, and crisps to enjoy as we looked at the menu. I had the Scallop Risotto, wife has the Fettuccini Carbonara and teen had the sausage ragu, and- for me, the Scallops & the Risotto were both fabulously good. Best I have had in many years. I would definitely order it again. One thing to note, most of the wines and drinks tend to be on the dry side, perhaps with the exception of the moscato. Family agreed all was good, and we'd return happily. The ambiance was comforting with quiet music playing, modern touches of Italy, and very comfortable, relaxing seats. All these add up to being one of my favorite local restaurants, and somewhere I will happily return to.

Yelp
This would be a 1 star review had it not been for the delicious aperol spritz and excellent service. But sadly it just didn't save the gigantic train wreck that is the food. Is someone paying the chef enough to be there? I'm genuinely asking. Because the discrepancy between the way the entrees are described on the menu and how they actually are is astonishing! The focaccia and carrots were dry and under seasoned, respectively. And each pasta dish was cooked to sh*t! The sausage pasta was the only salvageable entree but still underwhelming but the worst of all was the pappardelle with guanciale. The noodles stuck together, the sauce slapped on and the guanciale was all gristle and unseasoned almost like the chef had chewed them up and spit them back into my pasta. We were asked if we wanted to try dessert and wholeheartedly begged for the check and got chip city next door. If you are thinking of a nice Italian meal here, have a drink and try somewhere else, Im so sorry.

Yelp
If you haven't been, I highly suggest visiting. This woman owned modern Italian restaurant in shirlington is truly a gem. Not only do they have daily deals, the food and drinks are delicious. I highly recommend the Porchetta, mascarpone cheesecake, mussels and clams, and tempura shrimp. Very grown and sexy ambiance but also a grocery store as well if you wanted to purchase cheeses or wines. I would like to give a special shoutout to Scott, our server. He was very personable, knowledgeable, and just a joy.

Yelp
Ricky was my server and he literally made the experience even more unforgettable. This is a must try. The restaurant is moody with modern art work. My favorites: Clams & Mussels Oxtail Ravioli Espresso Martini

Yelp
The ambiance and food were amazing! My server at the bar was so kind. The only thing that I have to say to was the food came out very slowly , it was a slow afternoon and I always say the service is always slower when it is a slow day people wise. Besides that the food and drink were so good and would recommend this place if you are looking for a nice italian place.

Yelp
Meh. We came in for HH at the bar on Friday. Everyone was sooooo grumpy. I put on my best kill w kindness attitude but literally no one behind the bar was having it. Food was just ok. I had the tuna sashimi app which was alright-- reasonable for an Italian restaurant. The whipped ricotta was decent. The meatballs were the best part of the meal. Cocktails were good. The atmosphere just didn't do it for me. When multiple people act like miserable wenches, it's a bit of a buzzkill.

Yelp
My boyfriend and I decided to check this new place out for dinner and it was a pleasant experience with good service, romantic ambiance and good food. The food was a little salty in my opinion. Serving size was decently portioned but could be a little more for the price. I would come back again if they had deals or restaurant week going on.

Yelp
This place has a really charming vibe and offers a happy hour, making it great for after-work drinks and snacks. The only downside is the acoustics; it can get quite noisy.
