The service from a waitress, whose name I unfortunately don’t remember, was great. She was fun and friendly, and we really liked her! Pistachio Martini - OMG SO GOOODDDD The food was delicious. I ordered meatloaf with mashed potatoes and broccoli. The mashed potatoes were creamy, just the way I like them, and the meatloaf was so good! I definitely recommend this restaurant and will be coming back often! The only downside is that it closes at 8:30PM

Google
10/10 recommend! We came here on a "friends night out". The service was exceptional, the atmosphere was perfect for a gathering of friends, and the food was really really good. It was quiet enough that you could hear everyone talk, which is rare. The food came out rather quickly. I got the salmon and it was exceeded my expectations. Typically, when you go to a restaurant, you know their food will be pretty good. At Cotton, the food was G-O-O-D. We will definitely be returning here again!

If you are looking for the classiest joint in town with the best food you’ve ever had, look no further! Had the best time here with friends and can’t wait to go back.

Local to the area Will recommend Would return Meeting with family that we haven't seen in a really long time, found reviews to restaurants in the area that we live in this one came up had some wonderful ratings so we decided to try it. Also took a look at the menu and read a couple reviews. Made reservations which I'm very glad we did because it's a small restaurant and they were jampacked and we had reservations for 4 PM. We originally planned to have it for six but they were already packed and we called the day before, the area that this restaurant is located in. You would not think that it would be a top notch restaurant and have as many people as it did Our waiter whose name was Brian was very efficient and knew what he was doing. He understood. This was our first time at the restaurant and he gave us enough time to order. He separated our appetizers from our main course. He gave us time to chitchat. I thought the size of the restaurant was OK. It was a little loud because of the size of the area. It was I felt dark in the restaurant that's the type of lighting that they have that wouldn't determine me or keep me away though The prices at the restaurant for a meal were roughly $20 and up per person The portion size was great. The temperature was great. The flavoring was on point. I found the jambalaya to be a bit spicy, but still edible. Definitely if you're in the area, I would recommend stopping at this place and trying it out

Google
We had the lamb and steak and were not disappointed. We enjoyed the atmosphere and our waitress was wonderful. We did not make a reservation but were able to sit out on the patio it was a cool day, but they had heaters that were quite efficient. It was a wonderful date night and the food is just so good. All in all inexpensive for the amount of food and dessert we purchased well worth it.

My wife and I went for our wedding anniversary and are very pleased!!! Everyone was so sweet and wished us a happy anniversary and made us feel special and the food was Devine!

Google
Cotton is so consistent and always top-notch! We come back time and again and it remains our favorite restaurant. Last night I enjoyed the boneless fried chicken with mashed potatoes and buttered broccoli....simply divine! My husband had the turkey schnitzel and raved about it. For an appetizer we enjoyed the crab cakes. The meals came out piping hot and ready for us to devour them. The drinks, food and desserts (cheesecake and banana foster bread pudding) were all delicious. Our server was on top of everything and we left feeling pampered and very full. Thanks for another awesome meal, Cotton, if I could give 10 stars I would!

Google
Quite possibly the best restaurant I've ever been to and I have traveled. The concept, the menu, the service exceptional! They are beyond consistent with an impactful owner-family influence. This place is a must see and I am hard to please. Make a reservation or be there at 5 when they open so you don't miss out! It is worth the wait.

Yelp
Excellent cocktails!! We had the squash raviolis, the lobster raviolis, and one of the steak mains! All cooked perfectly and the service was perfect!

Yelp
Everything about Cotton was positioned for success. Terrific vibes and decor. Strong American classics menu. Great bar and drink selection. Service was friendly, but not as perceptive to requests as expected. The let down was the food. The popcorn shrimp appetizer was the best thing we ate. The turkey schnitzel was disappointing. It was not deep-fried and crispy enough, and the 'cheese' on it was a slice that did nothing for the dish. The applesauce was just okay. Turkey meat was a tad chewy. The jambalaya was not the one New Orleans serves. The sauce was mainly a tomato-based doll-up with the protein in it. The spice was good, but there needs to be a soup-like sauce with okra in it. The tasso ham was nasty and chewy. Stick with andouille, please.

Yelp
Had a good meal, scallops casserole with green beans & rice. Bar service was great. The bar is usually fairly lively, friendly people. My only issue, as the are Known as the Best NH Martinis, my standard $10 beefeater jumped to $13.50 A 35% increase? Hope it was an error.

Yelp
Wrote a review a few months ago about how poorly we were treated by a very pretentious rude bartender while I also praised the food. Somehow the restaurant had my post removed from Yelp which is BS. Instead of owning the problem and maybe considering the bartender was having a bad day or apologizing, they used their clout to control the media. Shame on you Yelp, your integrity is now questionable.

Yelp
We were flying out of Manchester at 8pm so we hit Cotton for an early dinner! Very impressive. We both had a Lavender Gin drink that was outstanding. I had the Butternut Squash Ravioli and my wife had the Buttermilk Fried Chicken. Both were outstanding. Service was good but our waiter was a bit stiff. We tried to nice him out but he was too shy. He did a great job taking care of us. Definitely would go back!

Yelp
We went here for dinner before an event at SNHU. We made a reservation. Everything was excellent. Salad with scallops as an appetizer was amazing. Scallops were cooked perfectly and it had amazing flavor with the pistachios snd bleu cheese. Fried chicken was tender and juicy. Broccoli was perfectly cooked! Delmonico steak was one of the best he has had. Service was superb. And you have to try the lemoncello cake. Its delicious!!!

Yelp
I don't have a lot to say that others haven't already noted, but I'll try to weigh in here... In a city that's replete with mid-range restaurants, it can be a bit hard to choose where to go. If you haven't been yet, and are looking for an above average restaurant that would be good for a slightly upscale business meal, date or just a nice night out, it should be on your short list. I have a few businesses in the area that I like to frequent when visiting, and Cotton is likely to be on that list whenever I'm in the area for a few days. The outside of the restaurant is interesting. The large sign you see from downtown are actually on the back, where it abuts Commercial Street, while the entrance is actually on the parking lot side toward the river. It's rather unassuming as you walk up, but has a nice feel upon entering. The parking is also plentiful and easy to get, so you'll have less of a struggle than elsewhere in the city (Though I've never had much of a problem finding parking in Manchester). While I only tried a couple things, the food itself was all on point. The lamb steak meal was nicely plated, dead on the temp, and well seasoned. Good enough that I'd want it again, and have a mental battle over whether or not to branch out and try something new. The service from the bartender was also great. Attentive and kind, with a good cocktail in hand.

Yelp
The hours here absolutely suck. I'm guessing they must own the building because they are never open. You can't make rent being a restaurant open 20 hours a week. Close at 8:30 when you open at 4pm is baffling. Used to have a good expresso martini but I'll never be back because they only have Q-Tip hours. Please just go out of biz and let a new place open.

Yelp
Everything was wonderful! The ambiance, the hostess, the server was the sweetest and so attentive. The food was amazing. The masked potatoes were better than my own. I say that because, I have never found mashed that great at a restaurant, but these wee perfect. My daughter ordered the steak and raved about it, my granddaughter loved her friend chicken dish and my grilled chicken could have been cut with a fork. It was so moist and tender. I am forward to my next visit.

Yelp
Birthday dinner was perfect. We tried many different martinis and cocktails and they were all delicious. Our dinner choices were tasty - my favorites were the scallop entree and the pomegranate & strawberry salad special. Louise was an exceptional server - perfectly attentive, friendly and fun, gave us great menu advice, and tolerated our silliness like a champ! We look forward to going back!

Yelp
Food was excellent. Owner helped the staff & visited customers. Martinis at Cotton is #1 voted state wide year after year. Ambience charming. One big message... make reservations! It fills up with in 1 hour of opening at 5 pm

Sabrina M.

Yelp
Love the martini flights! Service is top notch. I like the fact that sometimes you get to know the couple next to you!

Yelp
The ambiance was dimly lit and romantic, nice setup with a long bar on one end and with a separation which had booths and tables on the other side. Extensive cocktail list, decent wine list, and perfectly sized dinner menu. A shorter list of offerings but all of high quality. My party and I all loved our meals, all so fresh and full of flavor.

Yelp
I wish we had a little more acknowledgment on our anniversary. This review would've been 5 stars had I not found this place specifically because of some anniversary reviews and pictures. I made sure to point out on our reservation through Open Table it was our anniversary. The couple next to us was sat at the same time, it was also their anniversary. Their server fell all over himself wishing them a happy anniversary. He read them the specials and came back with a celebratory champagne toast for them. We got no such recognition. It literally killed my mood from the start. I was so jealous they got a toast. Then a food runner dropped off their apps and even told them happy anniversary. COME ON!! Finally when our food arrived, our server said it was mentioned to them in passing it was our anniversary, "so by the way Happy Anniversary," then left. I waited for anything else. No champagne toast, no special dessert. That was it. Everything else was great. That's what kills me. Now that I'm sad all over again, I don't even feel up to reviewing everything else. The food was great, ambience was great. Just wish we could have been treated as equally as the table 2 feet from us. Had I not seen their above and beyond treatment, I might not have felt so bummed. Already booked another reservation elsewhere to re-do our special night.

Yelp
Bri provided awesome friendly service! Nice strong cocktails. Food was on par compared to the other nice spot in town. Brined breast not bad, usually it's a faux pas for me on fried chicken but brining works and I can tell it's quiet juicy and good quality. Steak was cooked well too. Others were standard.

Yelp
The food, service, and ambiance are on point every visit. We go with a party of 5-8 usually and we've never had any complaints.

Yelp
Cotton has become my favorite restaurant. The food is always delicious. The waitstaff is friendly. There are no steps getting into the restaurant, but there are three steps going up to the bar.

Gail K.

Yelp
food is good, and the menu could use expansion, but the overall experience was good. Ambiance is nice, service was good

Yelp
This restaurant will do whatever it takes to make sure every single person leaves happy. The food and service here are excellent. My favorite thing is the popcorn shrimp! This is a great place to go whether you're grabbing dinner or just drinks. Definitely one of the best restaurants in Manchester.

Yelp
Cotton has been a mainstay of our dinners out for almost 20 years. Last time my brother raved about the meatloaf. My money was on the scallops, you won't be disappointed. They also make a wicked martini! Definitely recommend for business lunch or dinner.

Stephanie T.

Yelp
Upscale, fantastic ambiance, ice cold martinis, delicious food! Love their chicken caesar salad and meatloaf!

Rhonda W.

Yelp
Great service delicious food . Wayne is the top dog as a bartender or server . We were lucky to catch 2 seats at the bar . The food presentation was beautiful. Everyone that worked there were so sincere and kind . Food was done in a timely manner . It was so delicious. We will go back . The prices were at least 10.00 dollars less expensive than the restaurant down the street

Shannon R.

Yelp
Good food, nice atmosphere, great service! I recommend getting a reservation, but sitting at the bar is just as nice.
google avatar

Dan W.

Yelp
Lots of good things about Cotton. Service, Ambiance, drinks and food are all top notch. However, the Chef doesn't seem to be very innovative, the menu hasn't changed in a decade. I don't think the whole menu needs changing, but seasonal dishes would be greatly appreciated.

Matt B.

Yelp
A long term mainstay choice. Elegant atmosphere but not pretentious. The food changes often enough to always have some surprises. The waitstaff is knowledgeable and attentive. Cotton will always be a good go to place for a date night.

Jane D.

Yelp
So the menu stated sea scallops as an entree but they were bay scallops or the smallest sea scallops known to man. The hash was tasty and the chipotle sauce was nice. Just expected to see large sea scallops. Dessert was fab
google avatar

Nate M.

Yelp
Dined at Cotton recently. The menu while limited offers something for everyone. The chicken was very good although I thought expensive. The other dishes were the same Service was very good and the atmosphere was relaxing. Worth a try every once in a while

Jeffrey S.

Yelp
My favorite restaurant. Many great food selections and the best cocktails in town. The staff is great. Many long time employees so I believe they like the place as well. For apps, the buffalo chicken nuggets, crab cakes, and dumplings are all great. For dinner, my go to'd are the grilled chicken or the jambalaya. Their farmhouse salad is the best salad I have had. Love it.

Yelp
outstanding service, great food, thoroughly enjoyed the evening! Would make the hour trip again!

Yelp
Old style restaurant Great steak Very comfortable space It seems every time I go there is different staff

Sueb790 ..

Yelp
Food was great, drinks were awesome and service was first rate. I highly recommend Cotton.

Matthew L.

Yelp
The food and service are always impeccable! Probably the most consistently good restaurant in the Manchester area by far.

Yelp
Went there tonight for the third time. It's my birthday and they really delivered. Whomever was our server in the bar area booths tonight was amazing. I don't usually order chicken out but they rocked it.

Lawrence S.

Yelp
Our service was excellent and it has nice vibe but my scallops with sweet potatoes failed in flavor. I thought the scallops were a bit overcooked and there was an abundance of sweet potatoes. I like sweet potatoes but there was so many it over powered the flavor of the scallops. I have been there quite a few times and my other meals were satisfactory but they really need to upgrade their menu with changes

Sharon R.

Yelp
Always love going here. Great date place! Best buttermilk fried chicken ever, and the spiced pear martini is off the charts! Great food, attentive service, nice ambiance!

Allison F.

Yelp
I genuinely think this is the best restaurant in Manchester. My partner and I have tried as many places as we could find in the area & keep coming back to Cotton as often as we can. The service is always outstanding - friendly & engaging staff and hosts. Super easy reservation system. The food is INCREDIBLE...we've tried almost everything on the menu and each bite has been excellent. You also get your money's worth in the large portion sizes, true to southern cuisine. AAAAND they make the best dirty martinis around. We always feel so welcome here whereas other places of a similar atmosphere have been somewhat ageist in the past. This place nails the vibe with a Southern twist. We love you, Cotton. Please never change.

Yelp
Cotton is a great addition to the Manchester restaurant scene. It's just enough on the outskirts of inner city Manchester, but don't let that fool you, as this place does get busy! I came on a Friday night where there was quite a wait. Luckily, Cotton takes reservations and my party and I were seated right away as we had made a reservation. Cotton's aesthetic has an easiness to it with an upscale feel, which gives it a cool vibe. There are a variety of tables to sit at in the lower section, with high top seating in the upper section with an expansive bar. Cotton advertises itself as an American restaurant, and it surely is fitting, but their menu presents a variety of flavor combinations ranging from Americanized Asian to Italian options. On the evening that I came here, our waiter was extremely attentive and made sure to answer our questions and refill our water glasses periodically. I ended up ordering the Caesar salad with chicken and the crab cake appetizer. First off...the Caesar salad was OUT. OF. THIS. WORLD. I know, I know...it's salad, but it was MASSIVE and Cotton makes their own dressing which made it amazeballs. The crab cakes were also delicious with a corn and bean salsa and a spicy sauce on top. Both options were great! Overall, I really enjoyed my experience at Cotton. My one critique is that I wish they had a few more healthier options on their menu, and their price point can be a little expensive for some items, in my opinion. However, it surely doesn't deter me from wanting to come back for more!

Yelp
This place really impressed me. We just ordered apps and drinks, but everything we had was amazing. There are also three levels of great atmosphere between the upper bar level, the main dining area, and the patio - which is gorgeous! The popcorn shrimp definitely lived up to the hype! My husband doesn't eat seafood, so I got this all to myself and left no scraps! The pot stickers and buffalo nuggets were yummy too. I was way too excited about the martini flight I ordered, and it truly delivered on taste and presentation. I wish I could remember our waitress's name, because she was wonderful! I also have to point out that this place is the first restaurant I've seen that has the silverware rolls in plastic bags as a precaution. I really have to give them a hand for truly thinking of everything. I will most certainly be back.

Yelp
It's overpriced for what it is. The food's not bad, the environment and atmosphere is pleasant. But the prices. Oh my gosh. We're not in New York City people. This is Bedford New Hampshire not some kind of five star destination. Not to mention, if you don't like politics going to stay away from this place cuz that's where all the politicians migrate.
google avatar

Isaiah S.

Yelp
Always love this place, and I am aware many others do too. This place is reliable on having good food and drinks. They have a limited menu but for a reason, everything is well crafted and unique. The environment is cozy and slightly casual making it a very comfortable dining experience.

Yelp
We have been to Cotton before and have always had excellent service and food. We went there yesterday for an early dinner after a show at the Palace. I am a mediocre cook, no one will starve but I'm no Julia Child. I make meatloaf quite often but wanted to try some from a real chef, also at a price of $19.95. I don't think it was fresh, reheated which I can have at home. I was served two large slices with mashed potatoes and broccoli. Those two items were excellent. So, I'll stick to my meatloaf which I now realize is quite good. My husband had steak which he said was very good. The best part of going there was our waitress Rania. She was delightful, friendly, helpful, and the best part of dinner. We had a gift card and my husband gave her the full amount as a tip.

Diane G.

Yelp
Great lamb. Enjoy the resturany and atmosphere highly recommend it. Great desserts too!

Douglas B.

Yelp
Excellent. We were glad to get in as a party of four as we planned ahead. It is a very nice restaurant;nice selection of food and pleasant hostess / waiter. Two in the party had veal schnitzel- generous portion cooked nicely. Buttermilk fried chicken dish was very tasty with good sides. Lamb frites was not cooked quite enough and somewhat tough. We enjoyed the calamari app & the bread. Our waiter was very nice. We were on our way to Maine and we all agreed that this was the best meal all week. Would go back again.

Yelp
Fun atmosphere. Great menu with a lot of variety. Salmon was amazing. Drinks were fun and tasty.

Yelp
Read reviews and staying in Manchester one night. Did not have reservations but able to get in on Friday night at the bar. The experience was great and the food was exceptional ( I would give 5+ if I could). We had the New England Sea Scallops that had a savory sauce combined with all the other ingredients that made it absolutely delicious. The bread pudding dessert was also out of this world. Some of the best food I have had, and we come south LA where the food is seasoned and world renowned. Hubby had a old fashioned (which he raved about) and I had wine. The bartender put out martinis faster than I have ever seen. And we got recommendations on sights to see in the area from the owner (helping to tend the bar that night) and our bartender-Dwayne. Also the chef is the owner as well!! I would come back to this place in a heart beat.

Yelp
We just visited Cotton again in about 2 years since we last visited. This time, the food was awesome. We had out usual dishes including a crab cake starter, Lamb medium rare cooked to perfection this time, and the scallop dinner. Emily, our server, did a fantastic job. For dessert, we tried something new tonight because our usual favorite (Pistachio Sorbet was no longer available). We had the lemon cream Italian cake with mascarpone. It was so good. Could be our new favorite. Thank you.
