Cousins Maine Lobster wants to open in Henderson | Eater Vegas

"Born from a Shark Tank appearance and financially backed by judge Barbara Corcoran, this food-truck-turned-franchise was launched downtown in 2015 by local franchisees Jimmy Shoshani and John Rouvas and now maintains a permanent spot inside the Smith’s supermarket in Centennial. The owners have applied for a business license to expand into Henderson, though specific locations have not been announced. The menu centers on chilled Maine or warm Connecticut lobster rolls and includes lobster bisque, a lobster-filled grilled-cheese sandwich, tots, tacos, quesadillas, a lobster tail in the shell served with drawn butter and tater tots, and a Maine-style whoopie pie for dessert." - Bradley Martin

We visited this truck for lunch while sightseeing at the Head lighthouse. Everything came very quickly and was cooked really well and delicious! My husband had the warm lobster roll and I tried the lobster tacos. We made it a combo with the tots. The tots were perfectly cooked - crispy on the outside and warm inside. The lobster roll with butter was fantastic! The buttered & toasted roll was the best with the huge chunks of lobster. My tacos were really good, the sauce and big pieces of lobster were perfect inside the warm tortilla. If we were local we’d love to go here often!!

Google
Convenient location with a beautiful view. Friendly workers and food came out pretty quick. The New England clam chowder was delicious and the lobster tots were such a treat! Nice amount of lobster and wonderfully cooked tater tots with a great sauce on top. Definitely recommend stopping by here, especially on a day with nice weather so you can enjoy the view.

Wow! Our first lobster 🦞 roll ever and it was a hit! We did favor the Connecticut over the Maine style lobster roll! The staff was amazing and entertained us and our adventures!

After exploring Fort Williams, we were glad to come across the Cousins food truck and share a snack. We were definitely not the only ones who had the same thought, since there were already a few people lined up on a Monday afternoon. With just a couple of guys taking orders and making all the food, it did take some time to get our lobster roll, approx. 25 minutes. $22 Maine Roll - Maine lobster, served chilled, mayo, on a New England roll: Normally I prefer Connecticut style, with butter, but when in Maine, I went for the mayo. Since it was a warm, sunny day, a chilled lobster roll in mayo on a buttery roll was very good! If it weren't for the wait, I might have ordered another.

Google
Super happy to find this food truck near the lighthouse. It made for a convenient lunch stop. I had a lobster roll combo with fries/drink. Overall it was really good. Husband had lobster bisque and he also enjoyed it. Overall decent value considering where it’s located.

Google
Hands down the best lobster roll we had the chance to eat in Maine! & The lobster nachos were delicious. So good that we came back two days in a row. 😬😬😬

Google
Can't complain at all about the experience other than I wish there were more options, the lobster is fresh, at least it was for me, wicked fresh, and it left me very satisfied. there's a damn good reason their lobster roll is $23. it's absolutely amazing, to die for.

Google
Tasty Lobster Grilled Cheese and the perfect new england clam chowder. One of the tastiest in the area! They have prompt service and good prices.

Yelp
Cousins Maine Lobster food truck offers three kinds of lobster rolls: Maine, Connecticut, and Garlic Butter. I ordered the Maine Lobster Roll today -- chilled lobster with mayo. I really liked that they didn't use too much mayo, and the portion of lobster was generous. The meat tasted super fresh and tender. I loved it! I also ordered potato tots for my kid, and they were really good... maybe a little too good, because I ended up eating more than I planned.

Yelp
After our wonderful visit to Portland Head we decided on a little snack of lobster rolls! Hubby and I ordered 2 lobster rolls. Within minutes, we eating delicious lobster on a lightly warmed and buttered roll. Of course I squeezed a good amount of lemon before sticking this yummy hunk of meat into my mouth. Wonderful. My mouth did the happy dance.

Yelp
This lobster food truck is a great place to stop if you're at Portland Head Light! There were a couple other food trucks here with super long lines around lunchtime, but luckily we were able to order right away at Cousins Maine. We got a Connecticut-style lobster roll and an order of lobster tacos (which I've never tried before). The prices are relatively normal for lobster shack standards, and they don't skimp on the quantity of meat in each dish which I liked. The buttery lobster roll was absolutely delicious and it was super obvious how fresh the lobster meat was. The tacos were also tasty, although the other toppings definitely overpowered the lobster flavor. Overall, we enjoyed the food (and the view overlooking the food truck was also great!) and I'd be sure to head back if I was in the area again.

Yelp
This was a quick bite while we were visiting the lighthouse! Great idea that they have food trucks and different options. The view is beautiful because you have the whole coastline & lighthouse. I feel like for a food truck and for mediocre food-- it was very overpriced. Service was nice, came out pretty quickly although their server was down and it kept declining our card (thank goodness we had cash).

Yelp
I must stop on your tour.. Great lobster roll. It was a pitstop on our tour bus at the lighthouse. What a perfect place to have a stack lobster roll for like $23. Unbelievable. We have one of each warm lobster roll and the cold lobster roll. Both amazing! Definitely one of the highlights of the tour.
google avatar

Yelp
Delicious lobster tacos and lobster grilled cheese sandwich! Staff friendly. It is a bit pricey but that's expected at a tourist stop.

Makayla N.

Yelp
Tasted great, but the portion of lobster roll was shockingly small for the price. For what I paid, I expected more than just a few bites. Disappointed overall. Definitely not worth it unless the size improves.

Yelp
So, so good! Had the warm CT lobster roll, and it was even better than I could imagine! Super friendly service and such a quintessential Maine experience after exploring the Portland Head Light and grounds. Delicious, plump lobster and perfectly buttery bun!

Yelp
WOW, lobster tots at a lighthouse is a peak Portland, ME experience. It was such a nice and bright day out. The service was quick. Benches located near but easy to stand and eat too.

Solene K.

Yelp
Had the lobster been fresh, this could have been improved upon. Being from the east coast and having actually had lobster from Maine, traveling all the way out to a brewing company to try some lobster rolls we thought were going to be delicious, was a disappointment. Their fresh lobster tasted soggy and their tiny rolls were full of lobster yes, but they failed to give us any lemons that we asked for with our order and just did not hit the mark on being authentically Maine. I'm sure their food tasted much better close to home. I recommend visiting Millie's in Houston instead. Their lobster rolls are fresher and all year round.

Yelp
Ordered a Connecticut roll and whoopie pie. The roll was $18.99 which seemed fair considering current lobster prices. It had big pieces of lobster on it and was very good! I haven't tried the whoopie pie yet, but it looks good! When I saw the calories on the package I thought I'd wait until I'm VERY hungry! It's huge so would be good to split between 2 adults or cut up for a few kids.

Yelp
This truck is located near the Portland head lighthouse. The bite into Maine food truck line was just way too long. So we decided to try out this food truck which had a way shorter line and we were not disappointed! Also, i think it's about $4 cheaper for the smaller lobster roll! The lobster roll was delicious!!! The lobster meat was so fresh and sweet. The Connecticut roll was my favorite! The butter on the toasted bread was sooo good. I'm drooling thinking about it already. The new england chowder was also very good. On the thinner side but very solid as well. Definitely worth checking out if the bite into Maine line is way too long!

Yelp
The Maine Roll is a must try here if you're visiting the lighthouse nearby. It packs a lot of flavor into the lobster meat which is fresh and sweet with the perfect firmness. The lightly toasted bread creates a nice texture contrast and the mayo ties all the flavors together nicely.

Yelp
I visited the food truck while visiting the Portland Head Light Lighthouse. It is conveniently located right in the grass near the drop off point for the lighthouse. I wanted a taste of Maine while getting a view of Maine. The line was short and I was able to get my food rather quickly. I ordered the lobster roll, chips, and water. The lobster was sweet and fresh. Very satisfying. Be aware that, just like everything in Maine, this is not cheap. The three items cost close to $30. The picnic tables that are available are in the sun and are not great for a hot summer day. It is recommended for a good and quick bite of food on your day of Maine adventures.

Yelp
We visit the food truck in Clifton Park NY every time Cousin's is in town. I honestly can't chose a favorite dish because everything is delicious. Lobster tots, lobster quesidilla, clam chowder, lobster bisque, and lobster roll. I prefer the Connecticut roll served with warm butter compared to a cold lobster roll. The most recent breakdown: 23$ lobster combo served with a soda and Cape Cod chips, 8$ lobster bisque cup, 6$ whoopie pie desert. Check out Cousin's for fresh lobster dishes!

Yelp
Yes! Yes! Yummy! Yes! This roll is full of lobster in the perfect amount of butter, served up nicely and warm. It was perfect for the cool weather at the lighthouse. The customer service was equally excellent! Can't wait to check out their other locations closer to home, but when I return, Cousins Maine lobster is where I'm going! Enjoy!

Yelp
We stopped by the truck after seeing Portland Headlight. I was ready for my 1st lobster roll of our trip. The lobster roll was tasty but very small. For $24 plus tax I expected a bit more.

Yelp
Didn't know about this food truck so we had already had our fill of the lobster rolls at bite into Maine. First look at their menu and I thought they have more options (along with rolls, they have lobster tacos, tots and bisque) and slightly cheaper than bite into Maine. It's right at the light house in Fort Williams State Park Cannot speak for the lobster rolls here but tried their lobster bisque and I was not disappointed; super creamy, rich and delicious.

Yelp
Amazing lobster grilled cheese. So good I brought my bestie back for one. Deff recommend and didn't expect it to be so good from a food truck

Teach G.

Yelp
Lobster roll was ok, but the clam chowder was terrible. It tasted like pure vinegar. Someone must've accidently poured waaay too much vinegar and did care to fix it.

Michelle H.

Yelp
I discovered this truck after we had already eaten from a different food truck. However, their menu offerings were so much more appealing to me that I decided to order from them as well. I wish I would have found Cousins first. I ordered the lobster tacos and they were delicious. Their pricing was also more reasonable.
google avatar

Yelp
This was a pleasure. The lobster rolls were good. Taters were hot. A quick lunch from the truck after seeing the light house at the fort. It was overcast, light rain. Sitting outside on the park bench. Great experience.

Yelp
The food is good, but that is not what I am writing about. It's their customer service that is poor. We received a gift basket of their food, however their was no clue as to who had given it. We called many times only to receive a recorded message. There was a bit of a follow up by the company, but there was no follow through. Finally after a week of trying trying we did get a return call with the information we were seeking.

Yelp
Bought 3 items online with overnight shipping, prices were high but they claimed the best Maine seafood. The lb of lobster claws mixed with a few knuckles was enough to feed me and the wife when cooked with pasta but the claws were not meaty but tiny ($100.00) a lb. We have live lobsters in our neighborhood for $22.00 a lb. Never going to get it again. # 2 was lobster bisque for 2, it wasn't bad tasting but had zero lobster meat in it. # 3 was crab cakes, 2 for as much as a filet mignon would cost but with nothing in it except bread crumbs, the worst cc I have ever had. I notified them immediately that the order was not acceptable, I was told they would contact me asap. I'm still waiting. Save your money and go elsewhere.

Yelp
When I see others with delicious lobster I have to have it too! I instead ordered mine direct from maine! They do have food trucks but I have yet to encounter one in pompano beach. My package arrived on dry ice and held 2 packages of 2 lobster tails and 4 whoopee pies. The lobster meat looks nice and fresh and I plan on broiling the two tails. I did however have a few bites of the fresh delicious whoopee pie. MMM it is so heavenly with chocolate filled with cream! My birthday is tomorrow so I plan on eating one of the pies instead of buying myself a birthday cake. These pies are really great and I know the tails will be also once i get them under the broiler! I love ordering good food online and especially when they boast of being caught the day I ordered it...well that makes it all the more special! IF you are a seafood lover there are more than just lobsters on the menu there are also crabs, jonas stone crab claws(frozen), soups and fish. Just have a look for yourself and order it delivered to your home like I did. Unless you are one of the lucky ones that spots one of their food trucks. A birthday gift to myself...fresh seafood. As you all know Im a seafood lover!

Yelp
First time being in Maine, the worker was so so helpful, and HONEST about what she liked and didn't like. Not sure how the prices compare, but I don't think it was bad. Would recommend for sure. I got the Lobster Tots. HUHE serving size.

Yelp
Delicious lunch with a wonderful view! We saw the rival food truck by the parking lot but were glad we stopped at Cousins after walking the cliff trail. Really quick service if you arrive early, and reasonable prices given its prime tourism location. The Maine roll was excellent-- no frills or filler, perfectly buttered roll, fresh lobster, not too heavy on mayo. For something less conventional but equally tasty, try the lobster tots. The tots were super crispy, and they had the perfect amount of sauce/pico that enhanced but didn't overpower the generous amount of lobster. No such thing as too much lobster when vacationing in Maine...
google avatar

Yelp
This was exactly what I was looking for. I like my lobster rolls warm with butter. I feel all the other stuff takes away from the lobster. This place delivered just that. Soft buttery lobster on a toasted to perfection bun. It was a little small but perfect size for me and it was less expensive than other places. This was my favorite roll from Maine.
google avatar

Yelp
I never liked lobster until I had it here. Woah. Life changed. This was amazing, YOU NEED TO TRY IT!

Sherry L.

Yelp
best lobster roll in maine so far after trying 5 different places. also priced more fairly than anticipated

Yelp
Visiting from las Vegas NV My girlfriend and I each got a lobster roll and two bottles of waters. This is the second time I've tried this place on different vacations. The quality and taste are outstanding. A little pricey came out to $50, but you are paying for location and convenience as well.

Jk S.

Yelp
Really disappointed after reading all the reviews. The lobster rolls are tiny. Delicious and fresh but tiny. The lobster bisque had to be returned. Tasted like the cream they used had curdled. The best item we had was the hot and tasty tator tots. Not what I want to say after spending $140 on seafood. The location is astonishingly beautiful so still go. Just bring a picnic and order some fresh hot tots. Excellent service.

Chris P.

Yelp
Wonderful lobster. Great portions. I had the Maine roll with nice helping of lobster over stream of mayo. Wife had the lobster tacos. Moon Pie a great way to cap it off. Had lobster later in the day at a sit down restaurant and it was double this cost and not as good. Very impressed.
google avatar

David H.

Yelp
Went to Portland lighthouse and discovered this lobstah truck too late. It's tucked down by the lighthouse and their competition sits alone high on the hill for all to see. Spent forever in line there. Came back a second time and ate at Cousins. Lobstah rolls are superb!! I got the Connecticut roll cuz I love the butter over the Mayo but you can get either. On equal par with the other food truck but $4.00 cheaper. My wife got the lobstah tacos which were also delicious. Take the extra walk. Save time and money. It's worth it
google avatar

Kevin H.

Yelp
Lobster rolls were quite good. We had one Connecticut and one Maine roll. They were fresh and had good flavor. Prices are up this year, so $19.99 per roll wasn't an issue from a food truck. I've had them before in NJ and it's nice to know their processes are consistent, so I wouldn't hesitate to get them again from another location.

Yelp
Based upon the great reviews, we were pleased to find them still located beware the lighthouse, and decided to try them as our first lobster roll purchase this trip. We ordered the Maine lobster rolls, but were pretty underwhelmed. We have enjoyed many lobster rolls during our visits to Maine over the years, but we have definitely had better ones. Price was not an issue; typical for current lobster costs.
