Death by Chocolate is the only way to die, I say. 😄 It was good ice cream and it was chock full of goodies. I had the most wonderful service here. The two ladies on shift were great (30th April, 3pm). I have read about some bad service but not today and I do hope these ladies get recognised.

Google
Very small ice cream shop in the heart of The Star area in Frisco. It was ridiculously expensive and not worth the money at all. The marshmellos on the smores one they offer were disgusting, I threw it out after only eating about a quarter of what I ordered.

Erica Guerrero

Google
Little ice cream shop by The Star with popular options. The small serving size is enough to share. We enjoyed the southern charm and the it’s your birthday. Both were delicious and I would definitely come back if I was in the area. The service was fast. Inside was small but there are areas outdoor to sit and eat your ice cream.

Such a cute little spot in a busy place! Shake was a 10/10! The orange dream was amazing and so cute!

Wow, wow, wow. I’m literally sitting in the restaurant typing this absolutely fuming. Came in with my 3 year old daughter to a group of teenage boys all standing in a group talking to each other and on their phones. As we’re surveying the menu- nobody has said hello or anything to us, they just kept talking and then all of them- literally like 5 kids went in the back room without saying anything. 5 minutes pass, we’re ready to order and they’re still just hanging out in the back. Finally one comes out and takes my order, the rest follow and get right back in their group stance on showing each other their phones and talking. The one who took my order tried to tell them about my order and they ignored him, however, even the one who took my order didn’t make my order he just joined the group again. Another mom and daughter come in and after about two minutes, the kid who took my order notices them and gets ready to take their order. The little girl points at me and when I tell her we already ordered we’re just waiting -the boys look around confused. The guy who begrudgingly made me a “stacker” made a soft serve ice cream with a mountain of sprinkles at the bottom and toppings at the top. There was no “swirling” in our cup, I noticed this especially after seeing the photos on the wall afterwards and even the order after us had better looking “stackers”. I’ll attach photos. Also not long after sitting down and eating with my daughter, two teenage girls came in- they were greeted, attended as soon as they came in and the guy who relayed the order even told the guy making the order “load her up to the top!” So after my bad experience that was definitely a slap in the face. Worst customer service experience ever. I would like to be contacted about this.

Google
Cute little ice cream shop at the Star Center. Unique flavors to try made it enticing to give it a shot. For me personally, I felt the options were overly cumbersome with too many items per flavor choice, but we still gave it a shot. We tried 2 different flavors; Southern Charm and Brownie Cookie D'oh. The Southern Charm I was told was ok tasting for the flavors involved...though the blue springkles were the only thing making it sweet. I had the Brownie Cookie D'oh and was not impressed, actually tossed most of it out. The pieces of Brownie and Cookie dough were overbearing in size, while the Brownie tasted like biting into a straight Cocoa Powder (just very bitter) and the Cookie Dough was very vegan tasting (like a diet soda compared to a normal soda). Also, I would have rather done without the dry crumbles. Would have been better with real ice cream vs soft serve for taste and thickness...it melted the moment we walked outside and just became more of a mess than anything. I wouldn't go again...but interesting enough to try once.

If you like ice cream, you've got to try this place. It's the best you'll ever have. I like a lot of syrup, sauce, and extras on my sundae, but everywhere I go, I have to ask for extra. They never put enough on there. Cow Tippimg Creamery uses the perfect amount of sauces and crunchies. The peanut butter sundae is out of this world. My only complaint is that the Girl Scout cookie sundae was a limited time special. It was so good that I'd order it every time if it was still available.

Google
Place was unkempt. Crumbs and sticky in seating areas. Service was quick. Not overly nice or anything out of the ordinary. We got two stackers: “It’s your birthday”—the vanilla was bland and the cake was v stale “Milk and Cookies”— SO GOOD! If I had to go back would get this one. But would not crave going back. Can definitely get better ice cream else where.

Yelp
This was a fun way to end a day at cowboys practice stadium for a cheer event. It was busy but they were quick and the wait wasn't bad at all.

Chylsi C.

Yelp
Such a cute little spot in a busy place! Shake was a 10/10! The orange dream was amazing and so cute!

Nicole M.

Yelp
Ice cream is my favorite and it was so fun to find a place that offers soft serve! They had so many different topping options and pre determined sundaes to choose from. Small place with limited seating, but luckily ice cream is easy to eat on the go!

Ken L.

Yelp
Arguably the busiest day of the year and the serving process is moving like a disorganized kindergarten class. Apparently, the "manager" wearing a red shirt isn't interested in helping customers because he is quite literally just standing around, leaning on the wall behind the counter, while the TWO employees who are actually working hard can't possibly manage the amount of traffic. There is no excuse for "management" not stepping in to help. I waited for nearly 30 minutes after ordering -- one chocolate milkshake.

Lynley L.

Yelp
Service was fast and I got the order within 60 seconds of order, which was impressive. Ice cream was pretty good. I'll likely get something with less frills next time.

Candy R.

Yelp
I've been to cow tipping a handful of times and the ice cream is always good. I had to take a star away because I wish they had more flavor options beside vanilla and chocolate. The toppings are good and they aren't stingy with them, however my only gripe is that the small and the medium are basically the same size which I always found quite odd. You're paying extra for the same exact size cup as the small. Overall I never had any complaints it's a great summer time spot for couple or to bring your kids!

Raul G.

Yelp
I ordered the min shake, and all of the chocolate chips were rock hard, and at the bottom. Wasn't mixed. The it's your birthday cake was extremely dry.

Sarah L.

Yelp
Looking for a sweet treat to celebrate a friend's birthday after eating at Mi Cochina. The ice cream was very creamy but I found that there was way too much of the sugary, praline-like caramel sauce on it. I would definitely try again but may just get the sauce on top and not layered as advertised.

LaPraya L.

Yelp
Love it the location is right at the Frisco star which gives you the opportunity to see some cool sites. The ice cream was amazing they had so many flavors to choose from. The guy who helped me was flyers friendly and bubbly personality and respectful. Overall great experience I definitely recommend giving them a try!

Haylee S.

Yelp
Although this place is a little on the pricier side for ice cream, it definitely is delicious! The cookie dough bites are to die for & service is typically great as well. It's located in the heart of the Star and is a great option for dessert after eating at restaurants nearby. You can also walk the field nearby or shop the stores down the street!!

BJ D.

Yelp
Service was fair. Only one person working so we had to wait a while for them to come from the back area.

Jeremy R.

Yelp
When kids throw away ice cream, you know it's bad. That's exactly what happened with my kids when we ate here. How can you make ice cream bad?! How is that even possible? I ordered the cookie dough ice cream and the kids ordered a brownie type. I think what made it so awful are the ingredients, not the actual ice cream. The cookie dough and brownie chunks didn't have real egg or flour maybe? I know commercial facilities use alternative products to prevent things like salmonella poisoning but man...it was really bad. The ice cream just lacked flavor too. My kids actually threw their ice cream away and they're 8 years old. That's bad.

Eric L.

Yelp
Our orders were fast. The people were fairly friendly. The ice cream was not all that good. I had the "At the Ritz." This is a brown butter ritz crumb, brown sugar hot fudge, and rummy Carmel sauce. What it was is a little worse than a McDonald's sunday. The ice cream was about the same consistency and taste as what you'd find at as the free soft serve at a below average bbq place. The toppings tasted like salty cookies they you'd get on an airplane. The other toppings were mostly on the bottom. It just kinda tasted like store bought Smuckers Carmel and chocolate syrup over cruddy soft serve, with some stale salty cookies on top. This cost about 6 plus bucks after tip. My wife had the brownie and cookie doh. I don't know how it tasted because the cookie dough was in large cube chunks and it looked gross. The place was not worth the calories, the high cost for the quality of dessert, and time it took to park. I really wish we had gone to Andy's frozen Custard. Andy's has such better soft serve than cow tipping. Actually, even the place we all try to avoid - McDonalds - beats Cow Tipping. What a waste of good space at the Star.

Jonathan H.

Yelp
Came here with some friends this week. I got the "BROWNIE & COOKIE D'OH". It was ok. The brownie chunks were dry, and I didn't care for the cookie dough chunks.

Kyle H.

Yelp
On Oct 18, 2021, I enjoyed the best ice cream in the whole DFW area. It was a kind of dessert that your dreams are made of. The ladies working knew their flavors of ice cream well. What a great way to end a beautiful day.

Benjamin W.

Yelp
Change the shape to your cups!! Was way to messy. Don't lower potions though. That was fantastic. My wife does not like sweets but she enjoyed the flavor of the one bite rule we do! For that you are a (4.7). (.25) extra because you had my wife liking it haha

Terrance G.

Yelp
This is a delicious ice cream place. We had the ice cream of The month, the pineapple stacker. It was amazing and reminded me of the dole plantation in hawaii. Will definitely be going back here and trying the different ice cream concoctions they have.

Karen C.

Yelp
Ice cream was wonderful. Healthy sized portions. We had the southern charm and s'mores. They got the order wrong the first time but made it right.

Lauren M.

Yelp
We had a cheer competition nearby and decided to try this ice cream place. It was so crowded they had to stop. Taking orders to catch up on filling them. The workers did such a great job working as quickly as possible to get everyone's ice cream to them. The ice cream was delish too!

Jeanne Y.

Yelp
CTC brings me back to my college days at UT. I went regularly in Austin, but I'm a little disappointed in the quality of service and the product at this location. Granted, the workers are pretty young and so that may factor into it. My husband and I ordered the same exact thing and immediately I saw inconsistencies. The soft serve was good, but the birthday crumbs were really hard and salty. It was not worth the extra $1. I'll give it a try again sometime since the location is ideal, but probably will get something more simpler.

Kayla M.

Yelp
Cute little ice cream shop. It seemed like they only offer soft serve (chocolate, vanilla, swirl and flavor of the week) lots of different toppings options and specialty desserts.

Heidi Y.

Yelp
I got the high tea ice cream which was delicious, BUT I barely tasted the earl grey in it. It almost felt like they substituted it with a fruity ice cream without telling me . Other than that, I really enjoyed the graham bits and lemon curd. Overall it was a nice, quick, grab and go for the dallas star green area.

Suriya S.

Yelp
The soft serve was okay. They only had 3 flavors: chocolate, vanilla, and swirl. However, they had many topping options. I got the swirl with cookie dough topping. I didn't like the cookie dough too much. The portion sizes were really big and very reasonably priced

Lauren M.

Yelp
A busy place during the weekend rush, this place is serving up custom-creations as well as suggestion combinations of soft serve cups and cones. The options are great in variety for your own design, but if you feel overwhelmed you can lean on the already-made flavor combos. I made my own tiny cup of chocolate vanilla swirl soft serve with sliced strawberry and a birthday cake powder that had sprinkles in it. It was okay, but the toppings get really expensive really fast for how much they give you. It was a fun experience, but I don't know if I'll go all the way up to Frisco for this again.

Sara C.

Yelp
wow over priced, sugarrrrrrrr nation A small cup is definitely enough for 2 people to share unless you really have the courage to finish one whole by yourself. None of the flavors of the day caught my attention and I decided to get Vanilla with oreo crumbs I expected chunks of oreo CRUMBS but all I got was oreo POWDER. You could see the sugar particles in the powder and there definitely were no oreo crumbs. Even though I shared this with someone I just could not finish it. I love sweets but this just was not good at all.

Lana Y.

Yelp
Not bad! Small Ice Cream shop for those hot summer days. There are a few place to sit inside but as messy as ice cream can get, I guess outside is the best place to enjoy. The area is great and there are lots of options outside along the street to sit and watch people. Bathrooms are located through a set of glass doors behind the shop, but still in the same building. Customer service was ok, but not too helpful for someone who had never been there before.

Leena J.

Yelp
Amazing little treat shop with lots of variety and delicious smooth velvety ice cream. Sweet young ladies greeted us with a smile and lots of suggestions. Very thoughtful and kind. Enjoyed our time here.

Talmage B.

Yelp
Went to Cow Tipping Creamery and let's just say it had excellent customer service. This kid about my age who looks like would average about a 180 in bowling served me and should definitely deserve a raise! The ice cream was also delicious! I will definitely bring my friends here sometime!

Amanda J.

Yelp
I didn't have the best experience here. The guy working wore a mask which was good. He didn't greet me as I walked in. He just looked at me until I said hello. I asked him if they had the dipped cones, and he didn't say anything. All he did was point at the menu as if I was stupid. But no, I'm not stupid. I have a hard time seeing small words. I also went to ask him where thr napkins were later, and he didn't have the decency to tell me where they were. All he could do was point. Is it really that hard to say, "Yes we do have dipped cones!" and "The napkins are over there!"? I ordered a Cookie Butter Dipped Cone, and my friend ordered the Brownie Cookie D'oh. The dip on the cone never set or hardened, so biting into it didn't give me that satisfying crack sound that a dipped cone should. It was also incredibly sloppily done. It also started melting before I even took a bite. Great. The Brownie Cookie D'oh was good though. I'd like to come back on a day when this employee isn't working.

Saavi S.

Yelp
I originally went to this place when it was just a food truck in downtown Austin and was extremely ecstatic when they opened a place here in frisco. I love the variety of flavors that they have to offer , the funny names of the flavor, the flavor of the week ice creams, and the options that you can get your ice creams in! The basic flavors they have are always chocolate and vanilla, and then the weekly flavor of the week. On top of that they'll also have and ice cream sundae of the week as well. I have so far tried the Ritz, NOLA, It's your birthday, death by chocolate, a couple of the weekly sundaes and a red velvet one. By far they've all been KILLER! (My favorite is anything that they do with bananas which is ironic bc i hate bananas) the best part is you can select from S,M,L cups to waffle cones to BUBBLE WAFFLE! (Let me just say getting the bubble waffle with any of the sundaes is a whole meal in itself. If you're getting a small sundae I swear that can be shared with 2 people! If I had to say a con it's that sometimes I feel like the sundaes are made half-hazardly, for example we got the NOLA last time and al the caramel was at the bottom of the cup. The ice creams (the sundaes specifically) can be overly sweet so make sure you have water with you. Besides that I love this place I've brought people visiting from all over the world to this ice cream place because I know it upholds to my standards.

Susan H.

Yelp
This is right on the main run of the entrance to the star complex however is a bit hard to find with no overt signage. We stopped in after dinner 10 minutes before closing and were greeted by 2 so polite employees. As you read the other reviews understand this is a specialty ice cream shop. You aren't just getting Hershey syrup on ice cream you're getting a delicious brown sugar hot fudge.... the toppings are plentiful and made with care and they take time preparing your dessert. With so many "stacker" options it was nice one pointed to the pictures on the back wall :) We ordered a medium lemon curd and a small brownie cookie dough stacker. You can see the size difference in the pictures. The brownie cookie dough itself is a small meal with the toppings in it and glad i got a small! The lemon curd was simply delightful and refreshing. For ice cream stepped up in class this is well done. They have cone options, tons of toppings, milkshakes... plenty to come back and try. Now i will agree with those that say closing at 9 or 10 is not the best... with the warmer nights and a nice walking venue, later hours will benefit them however, they did say they were looking into that!! Thank you for pleasant service, explaining your menu and not rushing last minute customers ! Even the ones that snuck in behind us :)

Kiana L.

Yelp
Alright! Busy surroundings. Nice little place but subpar tbh. Maybe too sweet?? Idk. Like sweetness overload but the flavors almost outdo each other. Hard to explain but wasn't good enough for me to go back. Cold stone is better.

Isabelle N.

Yelp
Having been to the original Cow Tipping Creamery food truck in Austin, I was excited to stop by the brick and mortar right across from The Star. I love the concept of their Stackers, which includes soft serve, toppings, and a sauce. They have a variety of pre-made combinations that are sure to please anyone, but if not you can always make your own. You can also choose to have your Stacker in a cup, waffle cone or even bubble cone, which has become very popular now-a-days. I opted for the Reese's With'aSpoon because I love Reese's and partially because I'm a food pun junkie. Even with the vanilla soft serve it was very peanut buttery and there were almost too many toppings for my liking. Overall, it was good but nothing crazy amazing. I got to try their special soft serve flavor which was Horchata and it was delicious, but it wouldn't go well with my Stacker of choice. The staff was really helpful and the interior was bright and welcoming, like you'd expect from an ice cream shop. However, I wish they had more than 3 soft serve flavors and the Stackers were less overwhelming with toppings so you can actually enjoy the soft serve.

Maya T.

Yelp
I've been to the Carrollton location and was excited to come here too. Everything was great. I got the Reese witha'spoon and instead of hot fudge I got caramel sauce. So delicious! Loved the peanut butter blondie bites on top. Can't wait to try more of their stackers!

Scott A.

Yelp
My family and I drove up about 40 minutes from Dallas just to go to Wahlburgers but the wait was another 45 minutes so why not get ice cream? Lol Everyone got a mixed ice cream and topping dessert. Most of the fam liked it fine. The textures were the best part since the ice cream was just self serve-like, not like a custard. Could have been a little more on some. Good variety. I got lemon drop, for instance, and the lemon topping with the crunch honey was the best part. We all got smalls and they were pretty big. Overall pretty good mixers.

Karissa S.

Yelp
Definitely not the best ice cream, especially for the price. Its located in a high trafficked location but I don't think its anything special. Reminds me of cold stone with all the add ins you can put in the ice cream.

Alicia W.

Yelp
We are from out of town and found this place on Yelp while trying to satiate our sweet tooth, and it certainly did the trick! Perfectly smooth soft serve with perfectly chosen add-ins. We tried the Reese's and the brownie/ cookie dough; the cookie dough bites in both are the best we've had anywhere. Wish we had one near home!

Cyndi K.

Yelp
An ice cream location across from the Dallas Star and connected jointly with pizza place Cane Rosso, Cow Tipping Creamery features their novelty draw: Stackers. Stackers are their sundaes packed with goodies and toppings over soft ice cream. The staff was friendly and greeted us warmly. Inside looks like it could seat less than 15 people with their counters and bar stools, however with the open lifestyle environment of the plaza, patrons can very well enjoy their ice cream outside. I tried the Death by Chocolate Stacker with Vanilla Ice Cream topped with chocolate cookie crumbs, mini chocolate chips, bits of brownies, and fudge toppings. It was delicious, brownie was very sweet and chewy. I'm looking forward to try their "At The Ritz" stackers on my next visit.

Kylee L.

Yelp
So the soft serve is good but it's just soft serve and it's crazy expensive!! I like that they have such creative concoctions but I don't know that I would like all of their chosen ingredients. My husband had the southern charm and I made my own stacker with dark chocolate sauce, cookie crumbs and almonds. The southern charm came in a large waffle cone and it leaked so badly that we threw most of it away. Sad day considering how much it cost. Good concept just not our thing.

Connie C.

Yelp
Wow so decadent and delish! My sister and I came a couple weeks ago and got the peanut butter one and the birthday cake one. Both were amazing. We will be back

Susan M.

Yelp
We are not typically soft serve ice cream people but this little food truck turned store front, blew our tastebuds away. It was sweet, creamy and just right. The fun part is that you can make your own sundae with assorted toppings or go with their own concoctions. We had birthday cake and the brownie and cookie dough one. They were both so delicious and had many pieces of toppings, they definitely don't skimp out on that. A small was plentiful enough for me. I don't usually eat a lot of ice cream usually and could have shared that with another person. Will come back again!

Zara A.

Yelp
I honestly do not get the hype around this place! Went there on the weekend, and there were only two people working. Think they'd have more people working on the weekends in the summer with so many people coming in. The service was slow. Got the birthday cake sundae. The cake pieces were hard rock, the sprinkles stale, and ice cream flavorless. Disappointed to spend $6 on a small thing of ice cream.

Jesmin N.

Yelp
We had some time to kill after the Cowboy's watch party, so we decided on dessert before dinner. We got the Resse's With-A-Spoon and loved it. The vanilla soft serve is creamy, and there are chunks of a blondie, chocolate and caramel sauce, along with mini chocolate chips. Loved every bite! We got the small and it was enough for 2 to share. Definitely a great dessert spot. It is a small space with just a few bar stools.

Whitney G.

Yelp
Service: 3/5 Great service when they're open! The people are super friendly. Points off because they're not open during the times they say they are all the time. Maybe there was a reason for closing early, but sometimes when we get there before reported closing time, they've already closed for the night. Food: 3/5 Points for creativity, but there's not much balance in their options. I had the birthday funfetti, and it was so much sugar I couldn't finish it. They do add some egg waffle bubbles if you want, which were my favorite!! But I'd definitely recommend trying something else more balanced. Atmosphere: 4/5 It's a truck outside the Carrollton Monkey King Noodle, can't miss it.

Charlie M.

Yelp
The treats were delicious and the place was designed very cute. It was very pricey and the teens working were a little rude. Not the red head with the accent, she was a doll. The two making the treats got two out of 4 orders wrong and had attitude about fixing them. One looked like a female version of Jay in Jay and Silent bob movies. She had a beanie on and blonde. So you know who to correct. After paying $60 bucks the last thing we want is attitude to have our order fixed. Thanks.

Leslie D.

Yelp
This was our second time visiting. The young lady at the counter was super friendly and gave us great opinions on what to try. I got At The Ritz (ohhh emm geee so good) and my daughter got Gimmee Smores. Delicious! Great service! We will definitely come back.

DeHorne S.

Yelp
A big cone of ice cream is a welcomed site, especially walking into the store wearing a suit in the middle of the Texas summer. I enjoyed a medium sized waffle cone of frozen ice cream and my friends got a small stacker that was filled to the brim. The prices are reasonable for the amount of deliciousness you get. Facility itself is clean and service is quick. However, I am from Houston and am in town for a wedding, there is a bumper sticker in the corner of the shop that says "Keep Houston Ugly". I find this bumper sticker highly offensive. While I understand there is a "rival" mentality between the two metropolises, theres no need to reflect this kind of negative attitude. Moreover, I'm unhappy with Dallas people's perception of Houston, perhaps this reflects Cow Tipping too. Won't be back for more delicious ice cream.

Michelle N.

Yelp
Love the variety of toppings. The menu items such as death by chocolate are incredibly rich and very good. Even just the ice cream by itself is amazing but I love to order vanilla or the swirl of vanilla mixed with chocolate then adding funfetti to mine as it goes so well. Highly recommend.

Wendy T.

Yelp
Mmmm, I'm a believer in cow tipping! (The ice cream kind.. pushing cows over is mean!) This cute little shop not serves tasty and beautiful frozen concoctions, and literally a few steps away is a place dishing out tacos :) anyways, we got the stacker, basically a cup with layers upon layers of ice cream, toppings, sauce, sprinkles, and more goodies-- so many to choose from-- the quintessential menu anxiety =_=" all sounds really promising, and we went with the Sweet and Salty and the S'mores versions with one of the 3 daily flavors as the base ice cream (vanilla bean, chocolate, French vanilla). There are three stacker sizes, but don't be fooled! The smallest one looks itty bitty, but it's filled twice as high.. *gulp* After a little wait, they brought us our beautiful treats in all their crumbly, sprinkle-y glory, complete with the cool swirl top~ I'm not a sauce fan, but even with it, the ice cream was muy delicioso! Creamy, thick, sweet, and delish. Definitely a hit with dessert fiends ^_^ The French vanilla comes in a crazy bumble bee yellow color, but both of us enjoyed the vanilla flavors, with Vanilla bean as the winner. They melt fast, so prepare to get a little messy! Cute atmosphere, yummy treats. Definitely will come back! Next time for the make-your-own soft serve, yay! Cool restaurants next door and parking in the back as well, enjoy :D

Ashlynne G.

Yelp
Such a fun twist on ice cream!! All 4 sundaes we got were delicious!! And the service was quick! Definitely a Friday well spent! Will definitely be back in the future.
