The best restaurants near Bryce Canyon National Park | Eater Vegas

"Outdoor lovers get a taste of the Old West mixed with Mexican flair at this restaurant at Bryce Canyon Resort. Steaks, chicken, and burgers have a campfire flavor. The restaurant uses Utah-raised fish and beef and produce from local farmers. Must-drink Baba Black Lager and HooDoo Golden Ale sit on the 12 taps behind the bar. Stop by for the breakfast buffet with eggs, hash browns, meats, and Danishes starting at $12.99." - Susan Stapleton

Google
Very good cocktail: infused margharita. They do not add Ice and it is very rare even in top level bars. The food is good and the service top even with a lot of people to serve at the same time. We recommend 100%.

Google
Great service, delicious food i had a Bison burger, the fries were perfect. Highly recommend!

Google
Honestly this place was great! Pretty much tasted farm to table, the squash seemed like it came from someone's garden. A little slow service at the start but then the staff seemed to warm up and we had a superb dinner and drink! Bar side looked nice and chill, wish we had had more time. Will def be back! The only pic we had was that we both licked our plates clean. 🤩

First off we had to wait for service. Not really busy. Bar tender was behind on making drinks. We started off with margarita (really small mostly tequila) and a sunset point drink (small glass tasted like juice) which we received after our jalapeño poppers (were hot, frozen cream cheese filled ones) were delivered. Then sat for over 30 more min waiting for our bison burger ( was burnt on the bottom and very dry). And no Mayo or sauce to put on it. I received my road kill, burger was hot , not burnt, sautéed veggies and garlic mash potatoes were cold. Our bill was $136! Including a 18% tip. Just to expensive. Prices on the menu was less than what was online but we were charged more. Figured that was what made it so high. Now I understand why no one recommends the restaurant.

Google
The ribs were great. Sides like the baked potato and sweet potato fries were okay. Baked potato was over baked. The sausage was dry and over cooked. Tri-tip was good. Ice tea was fresh brewed.

Google
A little gem in the area full of mediocre food. Service was a little slow but staff were friendly so we didn't mind. Probably not a 5 star if it wasn't for the location: it's the best in town. Ate there twice because it is a significantly better choice than what's available in town. Especially after a long day of hiking, this place was a nice place to sit and enjoy a meal.

Jennifer Morales

Google
Stopped in here for dinner and had the country fried steak, it was delicious after a long hike. Great customer service and hospitality. Amy went above and beyond with her service! Highly recommend.

Google
We had a Continental style breakfast from staying at the adjacent hotel. The scrambled eggs were dry, the sausage patties were well well done, almost burned, the coffee tasted like it was watered down. The only good the was the banana and orange I had.

Yelp
I should add a review because I (like many) were skeptical of this spot from the rating: y'all, it's fine. Like the other review says if this were in a big city it would be a solid three, but it's worthy of a four all things considered. I know it's slim pickings outside of Bryce but this is a perfectly acceptable place to eat. The drinks were average so I just stuck to a simple 2 ingredient cocktail (liquor/mixer) I got the chili and my husband got the ribeye with a baked potato. We sat at the bar top so the service was fast; I assume all of the complaints of slow service were when people were seated at tables because there was only 1 server working the floor. Good spot, ignore the ratings, stop by after a day in the park.

Yelp
I recently ordered takeout from Cowboy Ranch and was extremely disappointed with the entire experience. Firstly, the service was far from satisfactory. The staff seemed uninterested and unhelpful, which set a negative tone right from the start. Secondly, the food was overpriced for the quality provided. I expected much better given the high prices, but the ribs and chicken were bland and lacked freshness. I felt like I was paying premium prices for subpar food. What really added insult to injury was the automatic 20% tip that was charged on my to-go order. I understand tipping for good service, but this felt like an unfair charge, especially considering the poor service and the fact that it was a takeout order. Amy was extremely rude and was not very helpful even after the 20% tip from our entire group. The food came out within 5 minutes who knows how long it was sitting back there. Overall, I do not recommend this place based on my experience. There aren't many other places in the area that are open around 8pm. But I would avoid this place save your money you're better off going to the gas station you'll get better service without the unnecessary extra charges. ---

Yelp
If this restaurant were in a big city, I would give it a 3. The food was very good. I had the ribs and my wife had the roasted chicken. We shared the carrot cake for dessert, which was excellent. My only issue was the service. Everything took too long. The place was not crowded, so I don't know what the problem was. Seems like a simple fix.

Yelp
Website says they are open. Yelp says they are open. They are definitely not open. Waste of a long drive. Find something else more reliable.

Yelp
Super casual, old west atmosphere. Tried it for dinner and it was plain, simple food, without much seasonings. Breakfast buffet had toast, undercooked pancakes, scrambled eggs, milky oatmeal (I think that's what it was) hash browns, cornflakes, and fruit loops. No service of any kind, and no one ever asked us to pay. If you want a mediocre free breakfast, this is the place!

Wendy M.

Yelp
I feel like this place deserves at least a 3. The service was friendly though inattentive and a bit slow. Not for lack of trying though, they were just very busy and there was only 1 server for the floor and 1 bartender behind the bar, taking care of probably a couple dozen people. There were two people at the host desk and it feels like they probably could've helped more on the floor. We got the chili and Caesar salad and cleaned our plate and bowl. Neither was the best ever, but also both were solid, and they give you good portions. We would come back again. I'd say this is probably a solid 3.5 kind of place. I'm rounding up in my review to 4 stars to bring up the average since they're currently showing up as below 3 and I don't think that's fair or reflective of the quality of the place.

Andy A.

Yelp
Caught them at dinner time Friday night. They seated us in the bar. Ordered a bison burger and a roadkill ground patty. Both were over cooked & slow to get to the table considering they were'nt busy when we arrived. Dryest bison I've ever eaten. Overpriced for what we got.

Yelp
Went here randomly since it was the only restaurant still open in Bryce Canyon after like 8pm and was pleasantly surprised! We ordered takeout but the dining area had plenty of seating, and was still pretty busy for a weeknight. Servers/bartenders were knowledgeable and welcoming. Chicken Caesar salad was surprisingly really good for a bar, but skip the elk burger -- was cold and sad. Good enough to go back a second night in a row

Yelp
Came in the evening and after Memorial day weekend. Lots of draft beers to choose from but most of them were out. I love my chili but they were out. Intrigued by the avocado bites. Alas, they were out. BUT, the 5 beers on draft were fresh tasting. And, they have 1¢ chips &salsa to accompany your beer. Best deal. They practice distancing with yellow tape on the floor. The workers wear masks.
google avatar

Yelp
Server Oscar took such good care of us. He is also trail knowledgeable in the area! Nice craft beer selection, but tonight out of many of the local beers. What local beer that was left was fresh, tasted great, and much appreciated. Table next to us had massive hamburgers and large fries, cut long. Ask about the chips AND salsa for a PENNY. Then, ya get yer beer! I enjoyed the John Denver, Johnny Cash and Willie Nelson playing overhead.

Yelp
Ordered nachos. Came out in about 5 minutes. Had to send back because it was lukewarm. Cheese hadn't even melted! I understand one needs to temper expectations in a small town with limited options. However, I can't in good conscience recommend this place. One positive: loved the bartender. Very friendly and the place has a nice selection of suds.

Yelp
We wasn't expected the food were so awesome before when we searched the yelp. We just looked around the yelp and decided to give this restaurant a chance. OMG.....amazing service by Gerry and wonderful food. The taco salad with beef were so good. The Beef was very juicy and tender, veggies were so fresh. To be honest, I am allergic to beef if it is not grass fed. However, somehow, I am totally fine with their beef, I have no reaction at all. Great drink, great food. Highly recommend when you travel to Bryce Canyon.

Yelp
Great food, caring service. The bar has some good brews as well. Rustic ambience. Kids love it too!

Yelp
So, been going back and fourth with this rating. Debating if it deserve 2 or 3 stars. Well here goes.... Spent the memorial weekend in Bryce as one of our friend was running a marathon that was being held here. As the restaurant was basically next door and a couple minute walk from our hotel, it only seemed appropriate to stop and have dinner. Well, here goes. When we walked in, the hostess was on her phone at the counter. We got seated pretty fast as it wasn't as busy yet. Our waiter, who I honestly don't think he's a waiter. Maybe helping out as they were short staff or something. Started off with the drinks, and one of us wanted a beer. He didn't know what was on tap or if they had anything available. Seemed all over the place. He had to check to see what we ordered was available. Which I don't think he knew what it was from the beginning as we over heard someone else asking for the same thing and he automatically said no. Dinner, menu had some nice choices. But that could just be on paper. We all went with the special that was on the whiteboard as you walk in. So this is where the rating comes into play. The food was another level. One of us ordered the half chicken was looked ok. Served with veggies and all the meals did as well. Everything was with green beans which honestly was from a can. Another had the pork chops, 2 very thin slice of chops. That was served with coleslaw and sweet potatoes fries. The other had the fish and chips. Which I swear was van decamp frozen fish. It literally looked exactly like it. Then comes my meal, the tomahawk steak. With a price that was offered, I couldn't miss out on it. Asked for it medium and it came with two sides as well. Veggies which was can green beans and rice. It took a long while till the food was ready. We did notice that there was another table that had ordered the tomahawk steak as well. About 10 min from when we sat down it was brought out to them and minutes later they had to take it back. I assume it was cooked wrong. Then the waiter finally came over and said that the other dishes were done but the steak wasn't. Told him to just bring them out as it would get cold by the time they ate. When my steak finally came out, I asked for medium and it was basically well done. Not one piece of pink whatsoever. And fries was brought out instead of rice. Mentioned to the waiter that I wanted rice and he replied with "you said fries". At this point it was like whatever. I didn't have the heart to return the steak as it already taken so long to arrive. The portion of meat was massive and for the price, didn't want to have to return it. But when you request it a certain way and it comes out basically well done. Its flavor just doesn't do it justice. Service was good, although our waiter maybe was just helping out as they were short staff or something. The bartender did come out and help and he was friendly. Talked to everyone which was nice. They did have a bar in the back near the restroom but we stayed in the main restaurant area. Food could have been better. Short staff for sure.

Yelp
Tried the Cowboy Ranch House, what an amazing experience. Had the Elk burger and fries. The burger was a juicy delight, the fries all one could want. The server,Ali, gave wonderful recommendations and was a pleasure to interact with. Great portion size. The ambience was great, a real Cowboy Ranch House.

Yelp
Service in the bar area was great! My boyfriend had the prime rib and I had ribs...both were good. Beer selection was also good and the service was great. The music playing was also fun! Not sure why this place has bad reviews...we had a good experience and would go back again.
google avatar

Yelp
Do yourself a favor, and get food somewhere else. If you are staying late in the Bryce area, be sure to hit up a different food place (many close before 9pm so plan ahead). It was really expensive, and really not good. The ribs fell off the bone, but was full of bone pieces and cartilage and were not flavorful. We ordered the hot and zesty wings and I'm pretty sure we got barbecue. The mashed potatoes are like getting a scoop of mashed potatoes from your elementary school cafeteria. The food came out fast, and our server was friendly, but there's not much else good to say about this place.

Yelp
I took some friends here who were from out of town. I asked the server if the enchiladas are good or should I stay away from them. He suggested that the enchiladas are the best choice between them or the nachos, so I ordered the chicken enchiladas. The food came out in less than 5 minutes and I immediately knew we were in trouble. The enchiladas were clearly made yesterday or possibly a few days earlier. The meat was cold, tortillas old and the cheese on top was reheated. Without a doubt these were pre-made and reheated in a microwave. It's even possible I got enchiladas that were ordered by someone yesterday and then just shelved until someone ordered them next. Stay away from this place unless you like reheated leftovers.

Yelp
Starters were good, the steaks we ordered were not fresh and very dry (I imagine they may have come out of the freezer). The feeling that the food is very neither fresh nor tasty, most of the dishes remained intact at the end of the meal. A really nice waitress apologized and said they would give us a $60 discount on a $400 bill. I do not recommend going there at all
google avatar

Julia R.

Yelp
Surprised the food was so good given the reviews. My aunt is picky and enjoyed the New York. Our new friend from our tour enjoyed her ribeye. The elk burger was good too, ask for medium (barley pink). The road kill was also enjoyable and the gravy is not too rich. Meat fajitas also good. Server was very kind.
google avatar

Casey W.

Yelp
Food and service was great Wallace is a great bartender. Chicken Enchiladas were great.
google avatar

Ziang W.

Yelp
Literally the last option I would recommend, and that's being generous. The only reason to stop here is because they open until 10PM and everything else in a 20 mile radius closes around 9 PM 1. Bad service; combination of mismanagement and understaffing 2. Below average, bland food; had some fish dishes that were frankly subpar (to be fair, the green beans were nice) and flavorless. Did not justify the price tag 3. Not taking any COVID related precautions. 0 signs of masks, hand sanitizer usage, wiping down tables after each guest leaves, contact tracing, asking to see vaccine cards, etc.
google avatar

Yelp
Healthy portions, good service. Easy to find. There was a nice crowd there when we got there and that's always a good sign.

Yelp
We are staying in town for the Bryce Canyon National Park and looking for some good local foods. This restaurant is just a few minutes away and it is quite a cool place with good foods and drinks for dinner. The server is quite nice and friendly. We all enjoyed our foods and drinks. Highly recommended.
google avatar

Steven W.

Yelp
The worst dining experience we have ever had. Understaffed. Unfriendly workers. Food came out 1.5 hours later for 2/4 people. Forgot all the drinks. Was not served water. They forgot the beers. Asked for medium steak and got rare. Returned the steak and never got the replacement. Only a few options in town and this review won't change your mind but the experience we had was 0/5 stars. Not good!
google avatar

Tim C.

Yelp
This place was great! We had low expectations because of the reviews, but our experience was excellent. I had the rib eye cooked medium, and it tasted great. Our waiter provided great service too. His dry sense of humor was hilarious!

Jen R.

Yelp
Only ate here because it was open late. If you can, skip this place at all costs. Food is poor and overpriced. Also, waitress selects tip for you? It was odd and she was mad that I chose a different % then the one she selected. Just skip this place!

Christina K.

Yelp
This place was completely awful. we waited to be seated for 22 min (granted they are short staff). Then it took a bit to even get water to the table so i got up myself to grab drinks at the bar. The food- awful. Everything that came out was cold and even the fries weren't fully cooked. We waited for a very long time for this stuff to even come out. It's unfortunate because even with negative reviews, we had no choice but to come here because it was the only restaurant open after 9 within 20 miles of Bryce national park. Very very limited vegetarian options.

John S.

Yelp
The only reason this place is in business still is because it is open late. Honestly, I would have rather gone hungry than eat here. I got the cheese enchiladas and somehow the cheese wasn't melted! How do you mess that up? Also, the "rice" had to have been a few hours old considering I almost broke my teeth on it. Good luck getting your server to give you more water... still waiting on that. Last but not least, can someone put some music or something on? It was dead quiet the entire time giving it an almost creepy feeling. Oh I almost forgot, we paid $50 after tip for this "food". Please don't go there so they have to learn to cook or close.

Pat T.

Yelp
Food was disappointing, served cold, and cost way too much. Not a bargain and was very bland. I had very dry fajitas with no seasoning and my companion had a cold elk open face sandwich. Meat and potatoes were cold.
google avatar

Kim H.

Yelp
Well hubby and I tried to get a To Go order from here but was not even acknowledged at the door. One gentleman was working the front but there were three of us waiting to be seated and or take out and were ignored. Not even it will be a 15 minute wait or are you eating in or taking out. After waiting for about 15 minutes we all just left. Really bummed

swetha s.

Yelp
Great food, very friendly hosts - good for vegetarians. The enchiladas and fajitas were delicious; chicken noodle soup was nice and warming; carrot cake was delicious..

Yelp
Another stop for us during our Bryce Canyon visit. I purposely target smaller places, knowing full well it may backfire but sometimes you find a gold nugget. No nugget here. We walked in for lunch and again, we were alone. It was a weekday and being just minutes away from the entrance to Bryce I suspect most people were still exploring. A few more couples came in after we ordered which seemed to overwhelm James, our server. I don't think they expected a lunch rush and other than putting salsa on my tacos which I specifically asked be placed on the side and taking forever to get us our bill, he balanced the rush pretty well. My wife had the Buffalo Burger and I opted for the Chicken Tacos and a side of fries. I just had a feeling their fries would be good and I was right, they were worth the carb loading. My rice was bland and the beans were a strange concoction which my wife enjoyed but I found off putting. If you are going to have "beans" as a side with tacos they had better be hot and refried. At least HOT. These were more like a salad. My wife was more than happy with her meal and my tacos, while covered in the salsa I didn't want, did contain some well seasoned chicken. Overall I would rate the meal slightly above average, closer to 3.5 stars. If they had got my order right and the beans were edible they might have managed a 4 star review. I did find it interesting that our server, James, handed us a business card with his name written on it soliciting an online review. Bold move but I leave a business card on the table when I plan on reviewing a location so we'll call it even. I can appreciate a place willing to put their reputation on the line when their food is only slightly above average. If they raise the bar, just a little bit more, I think they will get some consistent 4-5 star reviews.

Yelp
So far, the only things this place has going for it are the location, which is convenient after a day of hiking; and the seriously outdated menu pic on a web page. The server is bubbly & happy, but pretty incompetent. We haven't tried the food yet due to the aforementioned incompetence. I had to chase her down to tell her we haven't ordered yet, after she took our menus. My beer is gone, but I doubt I'll see her before the food arrives. The food did arrive, it's...fine. Overpriced tourist trap food, but nothing really wrong with it. She did neglect to ask if I wanted another beer. Keep your expectations low.

Joe D.

Yelp
My wife and I had dinner here this evening and we were very happy with the food, service and atmosphere. The street tacos as a starter and the chicken fajitas dinner were tasty and served quickly. I just don't understand some of the negative reviews. This place isn't fine city dining that some folks might expect, but it made for a pleasant dinner after hiking in Bryce Canyon.

Ellen A.

Yelp
Fun Western atmosphere, decent bar and good meat. Service was stretched but warmed up to our crew and steered us right.
google avatar

Brittany Y.

Yelp
I wish there were better options in Bryce. Very bland food for the price you pay. There was a dirty rag sitting behind me during my meal which did make me lose my appetite. It's a shame, so much tourism and so little options.
google avatar

Kayla P.

Yelp
Average place but it gets the job done. The service was pretty poor. The host was just rude. Our server was pleasant to deal with bit did forgot to bring us things like water and I also received the wrong beer. The food was good but not great. We got 2 different burgers and both were lacking flavor. I wouldn't go back but options are limited so I understand why people go.
google avatar

Keith C.

Yelp
Came at 5:30 pm when Cowboy Ranch House at Bryce Canyon. Place was empty. Staff cleaning and sanitizing as we came in. We got chili, and a couple of other appetizers. Ceasar salad was a smash hit! On the negative side, no paper towels in the wash room, saw the bartender stick a finger in to a glass of beer to fish out a lemon slice. Iccck! The tacked on an automatic 18% gratuity. I almost always tip more but so be it. Dessert options were cheesecake, chocolate cake and something else ...

Carrie K.

Yelp
Do NOT judge this book by it's cover. After driving around for an hour trying to find a place to get a burger, I decided to give this place a shot (since I was staying at the resort). It was the best burger and fries I have every had. Served just as I asked. The service was friendly and efficient. The inside of the restaurant and bar was clean and comfortable. I loved the old school Johnny Cash playing as I drank my amber ale. Totally unexpected and reasonable. Huge burger, too many delicious, crispy fries to finish and a pint for less than $15. The also offer free breakfast for the hotel guests. The buffet was shut down due to Covid but the bag breakfast they provided was above and beyond. A huge breakfast burrito with potatos, cheese, bacon and eggs, servce warm. Also orange juice, coffee, pastry and an apple. It was the best. I would stay at the hotel again just to eat here. Not sure why people would put up with the crowds and the prices at other places in the area.
google avatar

Sandra P.

Yelp
Not a fan of the buffet , but at least it was free with our stay. The food to order is much better!

Judy O.

Yelp
We were pleasantly surprised (and starving) after a long day of travel and a bit of hiking. Service was pleasant and efficient (did I mention we were STARVING?). Hubby loved the juicy ribs and slightly spicy sauce. House salad was a nice size and fries were good. I enjoyed the trout. Sweet potato fries were good, too. Veggies were fresh, but quite bland. A bit of garlic would have made them really good.
google avatar

Kelsey B.

Yelp
Do not recommend the Buffalo Burger or Black Bean Burger. Service could use some improvement. Great French fries and cheap beer.
google avatar

Lisa B.

Yelp
After checking reviews, we opted to go to another place. But there was quite a wait there, and we had been hiking all day on nothing but trail mix - so we came here. Nice decision!! Very friendly staff- within one minute of sitting down we had water and a basket of chips and salsa. Having read the reviews, I was skeptical but my chicken wings with garlic parm sauce were wonderful, and my Caesar salad was huge and with a lovely tangy dressing. My husband devoured his chicken, bacon and Swiss sandwich and those fries were heaven!! He loved his local beer, and I was impressed that there was a good California Chardonnay on the bar menu. Give these guys a try when you're in Bryce!!
google avatar

Barry M.

Yelp
I went to this place for dinner on Sunday 11-2 and for breakfast on Monday 11-1. Both times it was warm and inviting. On Sunday night Tim was the bartender and a great converstaionalist. When travelling alone it is great to meet someone like him. I had a few drafts and some wonderful homemade vegetable soup with pita bread. It was warm and tasty. The beer was good too. For breakfast on Monday morning there was a spread of scramble eggs, sausage, potatoes, breads, pastries, coffee, OJ, and milk. Warm and filling. I would go back here again due to the way you are treated. But the food speaks loudest and it was tasty.
google avatar

Kelsey C.

Yelp
We got the free breakfast here as part of our stay at Bryce Canyon Resort. They had a hot buffet which had eggs, sausage, potatoes, and pancakes. They had bagels but no cream cheese or peanut butter (though they did have jelly). The coffee was pretty terrible. Overall, not bad for a free meal. The hostess who seated us was very nice and friendly.
google avatar

Jackie C.

Yelp
Visiting Bryce Canyon from the east coast. HUGE servings! My husband and I had three appetizers to share and we were stuffed. Be wary of ordering an appetizer if your ordering an entree. I'm guessing the servings sizes are bigger. The server was great. She mentioned it was her first day working and she was attentive and gave us space to enjoy our food. Overall, we would visit again!

Laura M.

Yelp
We just tried this place for the first time and are very pleased. We will be back as we camp in this area every year. The restaurant is clean with a nice atmosphere. The staff is very friendly, attentive and efficient. We didn't wait long for our food but it was fresh and well prepared. I had the trout and my husband had the New York steak. Both were cooked properly and beautifully presented. Portions are ample. Chips and salsa are complementary.

Brucr B.

Yelp
Great place for dinner. We were greeted warmly by staff. Seated right away. The food was excellent. Elk burger was cooked perfectly. Quesadillas were very tasty as we're the wings. Service was quick. Servers were friendly. Inside was very clean. Really enjoyed this restaurant.
