"Texas-style barbecue smoked over mesquite reigns at Cowboy’s Smokehouse Cafe in Panguitch, Utah. Try tri-tip, ribs, chicken, turkey, or pulled pork paired with sweet potatoe fries, a baked yam, mashed potatoes and gravy. Or make it a green chili pork burrito, country-fried steak, trout, or a range of steaks." - Susan Stapleton

A Feast Worth the Drive! The food was an absolute blast! The meats were incredibly delicious, and the side dishes were just as impressive. We tried the New York and BBQ cuts—both were amazing—so good that we ended up adding the filet mignon too. We were completely full, but it felt like a true festín. The service was excellent—friendly and attentive. If you’re nearby (or even an hour away like we were), it’s 100% worth the visit. You won’t regret it!

One look at Cowboy's Smokehouse during dinner service and you can tell this place is the clear winner in the town of Panguitch. Even with the waiting line out the door, more eager patrons would pile in, drawn by the BBQ smokers strategically placed right outside of the restaurant. Dinner seemed impossible when we went, so we opted for lunch the next day. The food was phenomenal! Southwest Burger was juicy and flavorful, with pepper jack cheese melted perfectly atop a bed of green chili. Pig Tails, though an appetizer, is big enough portions as a meal on its own. Service was excellent. They try their darndest to accommodate everyone for dinner service despite the large influx. Makes you feel like you are home after a long hard day at work. Ten out of ten!

Wow!!! Highly recommend this restaurant. I tried several dishes and loved each one. My choice was the chicken fried steak. The steak was tender and the mashed potatoes were lumpy (a sign of homemade potatoes). It was served with gravy poured over and a side of broccolini. So delicious!!!

This place is amazing! The food is great, well seasoned and fresh. We’ve had a burger, steak, salmon and pulled pork with sides of fries, vegetables and salad. Especially the French fries were a highlight! When you find yourself in town, put yourself on the waitlist, it’s worth it!

This place is amazing. Great atmosphere, great staff, and food was amazingly great and decent prices!!! We ordered the fried steak (house recommended), and the bbq beef and turkey, with 6 different sides. EVERYTHING was great!!

Great BBQ - we had the jalapeño poppers with raspberry dipping sauce, ribs, and steak ends. Whoever came up with steak ends in the kids meals is brilliant and our kids loved them. The ribs were well prepared and sides delicious, however, the star of the show was the desserts. The cheesecake was very good, but the best part of the mean was the peach cobbler….what a great place for lunch!

We were welcomed in by extremely friendly staff and were informed that this was the first time that they had opened for the winter season, which of course we were extremely grateful for! We started off with the potato skins which were excellently seasoned and had juicy pulled pork on top. For entrees, we had a beef platter, steak ends, and a BBQ combination. All the meats were tender and juicy and had just the right amount of seasoning. For the sides, I recommend the baked beans, fries, and yams. We finished off the night with a peach cobbler which was served warm and delectable. Overall, we had a great experience at this restaurant, as the reasonable prices, friendly staff, and excellent food contributed to a great dinner after a long day of hiking. I would definitely recommend this place to anyone passing through!

On a whim, used AI (Grok) to search for a fun, quirky place to eat dinner while driving from Zion to SLC. Cowboy Steakhouse Cafe came up. We parked out front of this cute, welcoming storefront with clear signage and plenty of parking. Immediately the staff sat us, and we started smelling the smoked meats and taking in the friendly vibe. Autumn, our server, made great recommendations. We had smoked, pulled pork and steak bites. Ummmmazing. Never saw anything like steak bites before, but each one was tender, juicy, beefy. Now the star of the show (if I have to pick something) was the pinto beans and the BBQ sauce. This shouldn't sell the mains short. This was the BEST I have had all week. But the pinto beans knocked my socks off. And the BBQ sauce (on the perfectly smoked pork) could have been served in Kansas City with pride. I might have to move to Panguitch, so I can eat here on the regular.
