Cozy Corner

This is a very nice small gem neighborhood bar that I discovered a few years ago. Every bartender that has served me has always been very speedy with the drinks and polite.

Great neighborhood bar. Unpretentious and friendly. Chill vibe, great drinks. On my visit it was karaoke night, but it wasn’t obnoxiously loud as in other places, I could carry a conversation easily without the need of yelling. A good spot to relax and have casual conversations with strangers.

They only serve food on special occasions, so rarely can you order food. Maybe 🤔

For YEARS, I used to visit this bar at least 3 times a week since I lived in the apts next door. Especially for karaoke night. But today, I drove 45 minutes when I got off of work just to come here. I've always enjoyed a staple shot that they used to serve, and I was craving that shot today. Had I known that the bartender would be so unattentive, I would have gone somewhere else or just went and bought the makings to float my own mini beer. I'll spare all the rest of the details. But before you come here, make sure that you know somebody or you know the short/round bartender so that you can get service. I miss Ms. Cherry Sherry. 🍒

A home away from home for small town Midwesterners. Super friendly bartender and crowd. Truly a COZY establishment!

20 year vet since half a bar. It's a neighborhood dive. Frankly although I will say that it's becoming quite popular amongst folks among the community that have been there for decades. Just know that the staff can do what they can. I hope cause you can shake away all of the riff raff and go back to its lovely roots.

Despite it's outer appearance, Cozy Corner is exactly what the name implies. A very cozy, friendly local bar. It could definitely use some upgrades. But from my experience the staff and regulars were friendly, the beer was cold and cheap and I enjoyed my recent visits. Everything I look for in a local bar.

Its very clean. Not fancy but pleasant. Karaoke Fri and Sat, fun crowd. Weekdays ate low key. Talk to people if you are new and they'll make you feel welcome. Not a "pick up bar" so leave the game at home. If you go in there running game on the women you will get a reputation. They talk to each other about yall. Just a chill place.

I've been here a few times since I moved to Westbury and I love how friendly everyone is here. It feels like an extension of your living room. They have a jukebox where you can select the music you want and a pool table. They also have a tv where they play the games. It's very cozy inside and the prices are affordable. Sometimes they have food too. I love this place!

This is definitely a neighborhood spot. It's a relaxed & chill environment. Everyone is friendly and will welcome newbies. Drinks are reasonably priced. Bartenders are friendly. There's Karaoke on the weekends and a pool table to pass the time. Don't forget about playing a friendly game if shuffleboard. Parking: plentiful

The staff was amazing! They were so kind and welcoming, and the customers were nice and it was very clear this is a great community place and I love it!!

I came here after I got off work. I am a regular at Hunters Pub! Service was lack luster. I came here to work when I got off work. Bartender could of been a lot friendlier. One of the regulars, was very rude to me. And I questioned my choice of music? And said who played this sh*t!! I was like the unprofessionalism here is crazy. So the Vibe got very dark and twisted. I just left. I'll go back to Hunters and won't come back. I"ve been in the bar industry for 16 years. I just hate when staff treat there regulars better than new customers. Sherry took care of me the night before. I wish she was here on my last visit.

The best thing about this place is the location. It has a lot of potential. The owner would need to invest a little bit of money for some fresh paint a few new chairs, and some modern touches. Staff are friendly and the drinks are great but it needs a facelift and intense cleaning. It could easily turn into the spot to be after work or on weekends for the neighborhood. Instead we drive or Uber to Bellaire, West U,, Montrose or Midtown.

Fun bar! Great atmosphere! Pool table! Games! Great karaoke! Shuffleboard! Love this little dive bar. Staff is friendly and regulars are welcoming.

A fun neighborhood bar with plenty of characters and cheap drinks. Always a pretty diverse crowd, and the staff always seem pretty friendly. I've not seen anything truly crazy go down here as some of the other reviews note, but I also tend to stop in during quieter hours. If you're in Westbury and need to wet your whistle, this is more than a suitable option.

This is a really unique place - pegged below in other reviews as the quintessential neighborhood bar. There are definitely some characters here - when the karaoke gets started you can watch the trainwrecks in progress and the ones to come later. There is shuffleboard. And they have chips and salsa and tex-mex stuff in the corner some (all? every time I have been here at least) nights. The cans of beer come in the trademark koozie so you can relive your frat days elegantly. This is not a flashy, shiny place you take a hot date you want to impress. This is a neighborhood bar to drink at and be yourself. Come here to unwind. But just as a notice so you are not unexpectedly surprised - this a safe-space for members of the trans* and genderqueer community and their allies. Many types of people pass through the bar for a drink or two (and karaoke) so if that kind of thing bothers you: do not come here. The community has their back so if you come here and start trouble after a drink, you will have an entire bar of people willing to get up and throw you out. So be nice and appreciate the beauty of diversity.

One of the best places to stop by for an afternoon drink! All of the bartenders are friendly, the beer is cold and they even give you a cozy.

A true neighborhood dive. Wouldn't trade it for the world. Local people, local spirit.

I like the Kolkata in this place, very interesting people, and the server are amazing. Thanks again that I've follow this place and will definitely come here again soon!!

Thank you to a 'home away from home' place that accepts all, celebrates fun people and accommodates however your feeling! Great place...can't go wrong here. Don't expect fancy...but expect friendly.

This bar is so unusual. First off, it's in a completely residential area. Second, it's extremely unassuming from the outside. But oh man when you get inside... The drinks are CHEAP. And the staff is 100% friendly. Really. The nicest people I've ever seen working in a bar. The owner, and her husband are the nicest people. The crowd isn't young, and the music isn't new, but I love coming here and drinking and running my mouth. They have a golden tee machine, but I think it's from 98 or something lol. It's the only bar around the area for miles. It's the kind of place you go to drink, not to be seen, or be cute. Nope its where you go where seriously everybody probably will know your name, and the bartender will know what you're drinking.

I visited this bar once or twice a week until I heard a few of the regulars (one loudmouthed redneck in particular) use the n-word several times. I stopped going for about a month and only recently returned. The same two men used it several times again. There were discussions among the staff and management that the individuals who used racial slurs and derogatory words so freely would be banned from the bar for good for using that language again. But as I suspected, nothing has been done. I won't be going back there again. I don't need to be in the company of racists. It also isn't unusual for fights to break out in the bar. There are some regulars who are alcoholics and they have been known to have brawls that start in the bar and wind up in the parking lot. Oh, and by the way, the 5-star review that Jenny submitted should be viewed with some skepticism. Jenny is one of the bartenders at Cozy Corner. She is a VERY nice person though and an decent bartender but I think it might have been helpful for her to disclose that fact. I want to give this dump ZERO stars but can't.

Five stars for being near and for being so darn weird. It feels like a parallel universe that shouldn't exist here, it really reflects the spirit of Westbury in that way. The bartender bought us pizza? Did that just happen? The kids walking through selling so-so Tamales, and an auto detailer in the parking lot? This place has it's OWN culture, like the neighborhood it's in, and you cant match or beat it many other places. The bartenders are golden. Friendly, caring, and they know EVERYONE. Their beer menu kind of sucks, if you're into beer a shiner is the best thing you'll find on the menu. Oh, and they grab it out of a huge cooler on the floor (love it). I have heard the mixed drinks are good, and I've seen some people really enjoying them, but haven't dipped into the well myself yet. They have pool, shuffleboard, video poker machines (random), a jukebox, indoor and outdoor seating, and great people. If you're in the neighborhood, you have to walk over and have a cold one. I'm not even sure Bob R. is reviewing the same bar. It can get noisy on nights, especially when there's karaoke, but not outright rowdy the several times I've been.

This little dive bar is a hidden gem! I went for a few beers with friends and we were warmly greeted by Sherri the bartender. Within minutes we had been introduced to everyone there, and I felt as if we'd been friends for years. Definitely a fun, eclectic crowd (as other yelpers have noted) cheap beer and drinks, and great service. And this place is CLEAN! The ladies room sparkled!

This is a five star neighborhood bar. They renovated it all recently. Prices are good and the crowd can be eclectic which is great. It is a melting pot like Westbury. I hit it for happy hour with my friends in the neighborhood or when we want to get out of the house but want to stay close.

We don't hang out at bars much, but if we want to relax a bit, this is one of our main choices. Basic bar oferings. Never seen a fight, so the guy that said there were must just attract that type of attention. Like I said, we're not true regulars, getting there once a month, if that. However, people know us. It's easy to come here as a stranger and just hang out. It's also easy to start a coversation, or just listen. Update January 11, 2014. We rode our bicycles here (actually were were on a long toodle and somehow ended up here), and there was a large BBQ thing going, raising money for the mom of one of the regulars. We were on a diet, and so shared a plate, and met some new folk. A gorgeous day, so we sat outside. This is what a neighborhood establishment should be. They've expanded, almost doubled the inside space, cleaned up and upgraded the bathrooms (enough, anyway). May have to raise my rating. By the way, diet still intact...

This place is usually really chill except when a specific female couple acts like they own the place. These crazy older ladies sit there and threaten to call the owner when you don't care for their opinions. I don't know why the owner ( Beverley) from the way these clowns throw the name around like the owner would ever want customers that don't cause conflict for a 15 dollar tab. Get rid of the people who buy nothing and cause all the problems Cozy.

I'm hearing about this place in California I have customers that went there as a fellow bartender I plan on stopping by Ritchard and Anton sold me this place i will be attending .

Cheap beer and alcohol? Check Karaokee dominated by locals who can't sing? Check Around the corner? Check Pool and Shuffleboard? Check People watching? Check Free coozies? Check This place is everything you can want in a local watering hole, and so much more. Every time I take friends here for the first time, they always say "where in the h*ll are you taking me??" when we pull into the parking lot. However, by the time we leave they're nothing but smiles with their pockets full of coozies and wallets barely lighter. It is hard not to like this bar, and my friends always want to go back for more!

Econic neighborhood bar! Great drink prices, great bar staff and great karaoke! Very laid back and fun!

I found this place when I moved to this side of town. It's tiny, but it's super friendly, and usually filled with "The Regulars" (Which I have somewhat come to be myself). The shuffleboard is great and competition is always available. I recommend it to anyone looking for a local neighborhood bar. They also do a lot of cook-off type of events, so whenever possible, catch one of those!

Cozy Corner has an excellent location to me because I work nearby and I often come here to drink a cup of coffee. This place is always clean and comfortable. Very nice guys work here, that despite the dullness of everyday life and winter they always smile and wish bon appetite. Keep it up guys! I wish you a big success!

Love this place!! It's the closest place you'll find to Cheers in town. Everybody knows everybody and if you don't know anybody, you will by the end of the night! A very friendly crowd and great bartenders!! They have karaoke on Friday and Saturday nights to entertain the crowd. There is a pool table, shuffleboard, a patio and TV's for watching sports.

This is the quintessential neighborhood bar. The Cozy Corner is a perfect place to stop on the way home from work or as the last pit stop after a night on the town.

Been a few times. Good drinks but atmosphere is cramped. It's all right if you bring your own crowd, strange company abounds.

Kick ass service, great peeps in the area to have a brew with(particularly not an O'douls :p). There isn't a 'bad' bartender currently; they all rock. Ask for Jenny as she is an excellent bartender that has plenty of knowledge and speed, as well as a genuine person that cares about everyone's well being.

With the great yelp reviews, I had to try this place for myself. Great service, friendly people, cheap drinks. What more could you ask for!?

I moved to the area about five years ago, but just started going to the Cozy Corner a few months ago....Wow, is all I have to say. For those of you who always wanted a "Cheers" in your neighborhood, here it is! Everyone DOES know your name and everyone is super friendly. Great place to wind down or wind it up! Karaoke is always fun and as my sister likes to describe the Cozy, "It's the happiest place on earth!" haha

Bizarre spot in the middle of a residential neighborhood. Some years ago a friend and I played shuffleboard here with a grown man who had totally wet his pants. I'm not sure he even realized it. Interesting crowd to say the least.

We were attending a birthday party with an entourage of 48 people. It was preplanned and we went to several bars during the night. When we arrived at Cozy Corner, we were met by employees who were less than welcoming. The organizer of the party had made previous arrangements for us to arrive at the bar as our last stop for the night. There was a happy birthday banner and happy birthday balloons in the area where we were seated. We had just gotten seated and I was about to go to the bar and order drinks for the people at our table when I noticed the party organizer in a heated discussion with an employee. Apparently they were not happy that this large group of people came in like this and wanted us to leave, which we did. The Cozy Corner lost several hundred dollars in business and I for one, as well as most of the people in that group, will never set foot there again. It is unfortunate because it seemed like a nice place, very clean and well-kept. But after being treated the way we were, we will not be back...

my friends and I have been wanting to go here for years, but never got around to it. We finally went this past weekend, and I have to say, we were not disappointed! we even did karaoke! definitely coming back!!!

Small bar for a cheap drink after work. There's a pool table, TV and free snacks. The waitress was very attentive. They need some dim lights, the place is too bright.

I came from Chicago and this is the first and only bar I been to... I fell in love with the Cozy since my first night there... It's like the new Cheers...

I really like the fact that there is a bar in the neighborhood that I have grew up in and currently reside. There should be more of them. Between Cozy corner and Hunter's Pub there really aren't many options. We normally visit Cozy when we don't feel like going out but want to keep it low key, short drive. I was shocked when we walked in on our last visit expecting the dark hole in the wall to find a bright and crowded bar. They have expanded to the adjacent property and have put a pool table and horseshoe shaped seating on the sides of the bar. The Karaoke was super loud (my ears are still ringing) but was funny to watch the talented group of drunkasses play american idol. The other shocker came when I paid the bar tab. We seriously had 6 shots of Tuaca (i bought a round for some friends that were there) and four beers and the tab was 32 bucks. The bartenders were very polite, we will definitely be back!

This is a great local bar in the Westbury area of SW Houston. The shuffle board table is long and fast, and the Saturday night karaoke is pretty cool. The best part about the place is the crowd -- it's diverse and welcoming. We thought we might be busting in on a private party when we walked in but were quickly invited to sit down at a table with total strangers. My wife ended up doing some karaoke and I chatted with random strangers for the whole evening. Great place!

This place is definitely cozy and in the process of being enlarged and remodled inside......Everyone treats u as if you have been coming here for yrs. We have a blast here. Small ...yes, but fun as hell!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

This place is a complete joke! I ran a tab and only drank bud light...8 of them at $2.75. I bought my friends one round at $12.50 of what they were drinking. At the end of tonight my tab was $65. Then the bartender actually argued that I order all these shots and liquor drinks. I only drank beer all night....don't go to this bar! Yes it's local and friendly but, they will rip you off for sure!
