A southside, family-run spot with honest flavors, lunch specials, and occasional khao soi. It’s the kind of neighborhood Thai restaurant locals recommend for weeknight comfort and reliable takeout.

Beautiful restaurant! Inside smelled good and food tasted fresh. Got the pad grapow- definitely tweaked to fit western pallet. Very saucy and had bell peppers, which makes it less traditional, nevertheless it tasted good! Spice level was medium but tasted very mild, again I’m assuming it is tweaked to the western tongue. Tom yum- was a bit too salty but wasn’t that big of a deal, it tasted good! I liked the sourness and thought it was very well seasoned. Thai tea- too milky but still tasted good! Tasted like coconut milk almost. Even though some of the items too weren’t traditional, overall the food was good! Flavorful and good service!

No alcohol. Went Saturday. Out of meatballs I was told after I was served. Ok service. Food. Noodle soup was good. Pia whatever was blah. Not a lot of chicken. $32 lunch. No apps. No drinks. For two. Will I return. Idk.

A very nice restaurant but didn’t have as much flavor as other pad thais I’ve had. Potstickers were good - the sauce can be a little spicy for some.

First time here and so impressed. VERY friendly staff & delicious food. One of the best Massaman curries I’ve ever had!! 🥘 The mango sticky rice was perfect. Will be back again, 10/10 recommend!!

Food is great service from the 2 American girl servers is great. But the A/C is broken and according to one of the girls for a very long time. With the heat being so hot lately one of the girls quit and the other is currently looking for a new job. My family owns a restaurant also and I can understand the issues of maintenance. However no a/c in the front of house really has me concerned about the food safety in the back of house. I won’t be coming back until the Fall. I might stop in a few weeks from now but if the a/c isn’t fixed I won’t come ever again during summer months.

My Son and I dined here for lunch last week and had a great experience! The staff was welcoming and friendly and the food and service were very good! We appreciated that they offer many gluten free friendly items and that they use Tamari as their soy sauce as that is gluten free (which makes many of their dishes gluten free). Too bad more restaurants don’t make that easy allergen friendly swap! Anyway, we bot ordered off the lunch menu which was very reasonably priced and you got a lot of food for it to boot so it was great to have leftovers at that price point! I had the Pad Thai with chicken and the sauce on it was perfectly balanced. The chicken was tender and not overcooked. It came out piping hot which was great! We also both ordered their Thai Tea and it was one of the better ones we’ve had out. One thing that really stood out to me was that we were greeted when we walked in and thanked as we were leaving, that little gesture of a small business makes a big impact! We would definitely return.

So let's just put it out there, I love ❤ me some Thai food. My son knows it and recommended this place. It took me forever to try it but when I did I instantly knew this would be a new "go to" spot for me. First impressions are EVERYTHING and when I called in to place my order they were very friendly and helpful over the phone. The ordering process was easy and straightforward. Upon my arrival to pick up my order I was greeted with a smile and excellent customer service. The restaurant itself was beautiful and very clean. The staff was hard at work making sure everything stayed tidy, customers were served and everything ran like a well oiled machine. I ordered Shrimp Basil Fried Rice, Crab Rangoon and Vegetable Spring Rolls w/ extra Peanut Sauce. My husband ordered Combination Basil Fried Rice, Shrimp Spring Rolls w/ Extra Peanut Sauce and Crab Rangoon (I find it difficult to share Crab Rangoon - I'm working on it, okay 🤦🏽‍♀️). Everything was delicious and very flavorful. The food was fresh, hot and well seasoned. The shrimp were clean and deveined - which is a MUST for me. Pricing is pretty on par with other area Thai restaurants. It's not the cheapest food to eat but you get what you pay for and the quality of the food, customer service and overall experience is outstanding. They also offer a wide selection of menu offerings which I'm sure are all superb. I've heard wonderful things about their Pho. I'll definitely be trying that soon. Well that about sums it up. If you want amazing Thai food, excellent customer service and a winning overall experience then give Cozy Thai a try. Did y'all see 👀 what I just did there?!? Lol 😆 🤣 😂 Enjoy my fellow foodies!

Google
We ordered Pad Thai with chicken and Pad See Ew with beef and they were so good! Pad Thai was especially on point. Pad See Ew was a bit dry, but I still craved it after each bite and ended up finishing it all at one sitting. Great noodles at very reasonable price.

Yelp
Very impressed with both of our lunches. Quick service. Great food. I had the 12$ with Orange Chicken and she the 10$ Pad Thai. So good.

Yelp
Went to Cozy Thai for lunch the other day. What a nice place. It is not overly big, however I would say just the right size. The staff there are extremely helpful, friendly and efficient. On to the food. We got two lunch specials, for $12 each. A lot of food. It include hot and sour soup or salad. Lunch specials came with two crab rangoon. One of us is not a fan of crab rangoon so we asked is we could substitute something else. They were very accommodating an offered an egg roll. For our mail items we got a Chicken Pad Thai and a Pork Drunken noodles. Both servings were very big. Served piping hot. The food was delicious. Some of the best we have had. You can adjust the level of spice. I will admit one of us got 0 spice and the other 1 spice (we just can not handle overly spicey food, however we do enjoy Thai food) If you are looking for some Thai food, you should definitely give this place a try. You will not be disappointed

Yelp
Tamarind chicken peanuts chicken orange chicken teriyaki chicken all were great and quick once they brought menu to us lol she forgot . Love when they leave water at the table specially when it was hot So we knocked off 2 stars due to the heat yes they had fans but they opened at 12 we arrived at 1224 and turned on the ac at 12 it was 86 when we first arrived temp was set at 56 when people started to enter it went up by the time we left it was 88 we needed a lot of water no outside seating note to self

Yelp
We walked in not knowing that we would love this place. We are from california and were craving Thai food. This place did not disappoint. We got the calamari, dulux veggies with beef and beef noodle soup. The service was amazing to the food and the ambiance of the restaurant. We really enjoyed their food and will be back to visit some day soon! Thank you for having us!!

Yelp
I was recommended this spot by a few friends who had gotten take out and decided to go inside and try it myself! The inside was very decorative and welcoming. The staff were so kind and quick to seat me. I got the beef noodle soup, crab Rangoon and an order of pad Thai! All were phenomenal! This place does not get enough hype for its authenticity! I can't wait to come back and try more on their menu!

Yelp
The restaurant was nice & cozy just like the name. Decor inside was good. The restaurant was a bit small so not a lot of seating. As for the food we ordered spring rolls, crab Rangoon, laab chicken, drunken noodle, dumplings & basil fried rice. I didn't eat everything except the spring rolls which was good but not great. The laab chicken didn't have a lot of flavor. Overall, the restaurant was good, service was great & I will return to try different dishes.

Yelp
We got there at 4, having never been there before but close to the Comedy Club show we were trying to make at 5. It was a weird in-between time but we weren't the only table. It took a while for the server to get our order. Once the food came out, we were amazed by with the presentation and the food was extremely tasty. We decided to go vegetarian that night and get the tofu appetizer, vegetable fresh spring rolls, and shared a vegetable pineapple fried rice. Everything was extremely fresh. I love that there were even straw mushrooms in the fried rice. It was the perfect amount of food and we were very happy with the food and price. Our server was a bit negligent however. Though we finished our meal by 4:35, we didn't get our check. When I walked to the front at 4:45 to pay out in case we had it wrong and were supposed to pay at the door, she freaked out as if she realized she forgot about us, and hurriedly prepared the check. The forgetfulness of the service during an off time is the only reason I knocked off a star. In all, very exited to eat here again, even though it's slightly out of our way. The restaurant is very cute and indeed, cozy.

Yelp
Spicy garlic pepper with tofu and the pad Thai were excellent. What caught the attention were the fresh spring rolls and the delicious peanut sauce accompanied by it. Service was kind and friendly. Vegan and vegetarian friendly

Ryan S.

Yelp
My go-to panang curry in kc. Consistently amazing and the lunch special (includes two crab rangoon) always hits the spot.

Bob B.

Yelp
Fast and delicious Thai food. The pad Thai was great. I don't get there enough. The service was friendly and quick. The ambience was indeed cozy and inviting.
google avatar

Becca B.

Yelp
We ordered the Chicken Pad Thai (hot), Red Curry served with steamed rice (hot), and the crab Rangoon appetizer. Everything was delicious! Out of the dishes, our favorite was the red curry beachside of the creamy sauce and fresh veggies. Although we ordered the food to go, the service was friendly and the meal was ready to be picked up in a short amount of time. We will be back to eat in person because the restaurant was clean and inviting!
google avatar

Crystal B.

Yelp
My favorite lunch spot to just enjoy a lunch alone. Their hot an sour soup always makes me need 2 cups. This fall weather is the perfect time to knock the chill off. The staff is so kind an gracious. Just a relaxing spot to u decompress for a hour.

Jodi T.

Yelp
First timer and the atmosphere and service was great and the food was sooo good! will definitely be back.

Yelp
I got takeout from here this evening and it was one of the best Thai takeout experiences that I have had! I had the chicken fried rice and the yellow curry. To start with, the packaging was great and everything remained hot for the trip home. Both of the entrées were fantastic! I would absolutely recommend this place if you are craving Thai or Asian cuisine.
google avatar

ChrisToffer C.

Yelp
Drippin wet... lunch special box is bangin. I'd eat here everyday if I was closer. Scissor my fork.

John W.

Yelp
I've only ever tried carry out here. My go to is the curry rice with beef. Excellent service and really good food. The very only thing I would say is, sometimes the heat is a little inconsistent. Sometimes you order medium and it's closer to either mild or hot. Still very good, highly recommend going here. Won't regret it.

Yelp
Cozy Thai is my absolute, most favorite restaurant in Kansas City. Hands down. I have been many times now because it's so good. I crave it all the time. I have tried many things, a few of my favorites being the fresh spring rolls, crab rangoons, jalapeño bomb, drunken noodles, yellow curry, and pad thai. They are so consistent with the food. It's amazing every time. I seriously have not had something I didn't like. It doesn't matter if I order to go or sit down, it's fast and fresh. I really could go on forever about my love for this place and how amazing they are. You must try and you will not be disappointed. Cozy Thai, I freaking love you!
google avatar

Yelp
Good lunch deals and service is fast. Adaptable on spice and small edits to menu items.

Yelp
My favorite place for Thai and Sushi? Well it's also my favorite place to EAT in my community! What a fresh clean place, sushi, Thai Food, desserts, wine, beer and the friendliest folks in town by far. Eat here. You'll be glad you did. My go to is Jalapeño Bomb and Fresh Veggie Spring Rolls then I eat Mango Curry Medium; it has chicken AND shrimp, coconut cream and warm delicious spices with soft sweet mango. I sometimes have Sushi and loved all of them except one oddball sweet potato sushi.
google avatar

Kay L.

Yelp
I have ordered carryout and delivery from Cozy Thai several times, but have never actually dined in. The food is very good! My husband loves their red curry; I like their pad gra prow, stir fried eggplant with chicken, and noodle soups. The only thing I've tried from here that I have not liked are the spring rolls. The food is ready quickly and the prices are reasonable. I would recommend Cozy Thai!

Yelp
Great casual place for a low key evening! I came by this weekend with some friends, and we were seated pretty quickly. Our server was patient and waited for our whole group to arrive before taking our orders. She was knowledgeable and helped us pick the right level of spice based on our preferences. I got the Spicy Basil Fried Rice with chicken at a medium heat level - and despite being a spicy food lover, medium was definitely right for me. The rice had a balance of spice without overpowering, and it meshed with the rest of the flavors so well. Plus, the portion was quite generous and I had plenty left over for the next day. The only reason I knocked off a star was because it was REALLY hard to find! The windows had blackout blinds closed and the sign wasn't lit up, so it was very easy to miss, especially in the dark. I had a great time and would definitely be back!
google avatar

Yelp
I ordered : Crab rangoon : my husband thinks it s good 5 stars Spicy basil fried rice: it s fine i guess, 3/5 Sad part is the tom yum noodle: no tom yum flavor at all, it tastes just like whatever soup, no sweet and sour flavor, tomyum is supposed to have the taste of lemon grass, galangal , kaffir leaves at least . Nope, bland broth! Avoid it if you crave for tom yum flavor

Audrey F.

Yelp
5 stars! We ordered takeout from here and when I picked it up the food was ready right on time. The staff member was very friendly when greeting me. By the time we got home the food was still fresh and the flavors were delicious. Already planning my trip back.

Leslie M.

Yelp
Everything we ordered was delicious. I'd recommend the pho and mango sticky rice for dessert.
google avatar

Steve D.

Yelp
I enjoyed the delicious food, the reasonable price, and the excellent service during my opening week dine-in lunch visit. My chicken pad see ew lunch ($9.99) was served just seven minutes after I ordered at the table. It included a choice of meat, choice of side, choice of heat level and two crab rangoons. The salad had a delicious dressing with fresh veggies, but was rather small, while the entrée was generously sized with plenty of creamy goodness, a good amount of chicken and some tasty veggies. I noticed a nicely decorated dining area with soothing instrumental background music and a bar area (closed, with liquor license coming soon). The service was polite, attentive, helpful and cheerful - nice!

Amy T.

Yelp
Best Thai food I've had in the area. Large portions, reasonably priced. Lunch specials can't be beat.
google avatar

Jennie L.

Yelp
Symphony of flavors hitting all the spicy tastebuds. It was quite delicious but my friend and I came during lunch and the service was very slow. From our waters, to our lunch order, the check, and getting our food to go seemed like a process there and unorganized.
google avatar

Yelp
Goggled the best Pad Thai in Kansas City. A number of places I've been to came up ranked pretty high. But #1 restruant was Cozy Thai and having never been there - had to try it. While tempted to try a number of dishes on their menu, l stayed with chicken Pad Thai with shrimp. Took about 8 min on a Sat afternoon with about 10 other diners also having a late lunch. The service was fast, gracious and attentive The dish was served at a very hot temperture and tasted very fresh. I normally like my Thai food spicy hot, but at new places l order medium and ask for extra spice on the side to add as needed. The dish had noodles that were tasty but a bit rubbery compared to most others I've had. The medium spice was right on target and chose to add fish sauce with chili. Overall, I enjoyed the dish and their take on the noodles was fine. I'm very interested in trying more things on their menu.
google avatar

Ivy L.

Yelp
We were seated quickly, and the server was attentive and the food came fast. The resturant itself was very neat and clean. Very flavorful and tangy pad thai. However, warning, I think their spice levels ramp up a bit steeper than most Thai places. I think I'm ok at handling spice and their medium spice had me sweating a bit. The portion sizes were big enough that everyone had some amount of left overs. I thought the plate presentation was also aesthetically pleasing with the little pile of crushed peanuts and carrot spiral.
google avatar

Brooke A.

Yelp
I can't stop craving the food from this sweet little Thai place. The crab fried rice is stellar! Real crab, diced and mixed impeccably throughout with just enough crab meat that you don't feel jilted or searching for it. The chicken sauté skewers with peanut sauce are delectable. Pad Thai can be catered to your heat preference and left my friend sweating bullets after seeking out the hottest they could make it. Hard pass for me. I'm a lightweight and ain't testing that fate. Crab Rangoon is light and stuffed well. Call me weird but I like to order extra peanut sauce to mix in my crab fried rice and never regret it. The ladies who greeted and waited on us were warm and friendly. Even cracked jokes with us yielding some good laughs. Atmosphere is cozy and clean in the seating area. My new fave Thai place when I have a hankering.

Liz W.

Yelp
Authentic Thai food in a casual and comfortable setting. Everything we ordered was delicious and even impressed my sister in law who is Thai. Great experience, don't hesitate to go here. It was so awesome, We went back the next night !
google avatar

Amanda H.

Yelp
This is one of my go to Thai restaurants. The food is great. My favorite dish is the pad gapow. The flavor is all there and the egg is just a great way to top it off. I get all my food hot which is perfect for those who like the spice. I have tried the Thai hot, which is too hot for me, as someone who likes spicy food. While the food is great, the service is mid. The server doesn't really talk much but is able to get us all we need. The restaurant is small and quiet. Every time I come to this place it isn't busy so I'm able to get a seat. I highly recommend this place for anyone who wants good Thai food for a good price!
google avatar

Kathy M.

Yelp
Finally decided to try this place after passing it on the way to Price Chopper every week. The place was nice inside and not busy. Plenty of seating. Hubby ordered the cashew chicken and liked it. I decided I really wanted sushi and I regret that decision. The sushi did not taste fresh to me and I definitely wouldn't order it again. I do think we would try ordering from here again and I think if we just avoid the sushi side of the menu; we would be happy.
google avatar

Rachelle C.

Yelp
We ordered this to go to take back to our hotel. The pad Thai was very good along with the crab Rangoon and tiger cry beef. If I lived in the area I wouldn't hesitate ordering from here again.
google avatar

Bree G.

Yelp
We ate here before a comedy show. Service was great, everything came out really fast and was fresh and hot. The restaurant is spacious, lots of seating. I had made a reservation, but didn't need it. My husband got Drunken noodles, I got panang curry, both with shrimp. We also had fresh spring rolls. Our over all impression was this is a solid Thai restaurant with good food, but we wouldn't drive out of our way to come here. Everything was tasty, but nothing stood out. The panang was a little thin for my taste, but the flavor was good. We found the spring rolls to be a bit smaller than what we receive at other places.
google avatar

Laurel S.

Yelp
Delicious Thai food! Super cute inside especially given the unassuming strip mall front. Came for lunch and they hafmve a great lunch special. 9.95 for soup or salad, 2 mini crab Rangoon and an entree. I had the chicken pad thai with medium heat and it was perfect. Enough to make my nose run a little but not painful. Everything was great.

Jaina R.

Yelp
I ordered the pad see ew & egg rolls and it was great! I will definitely be going back and bringing a friend.
google avatar

Jordan K.

Yelp
What do you do when your 2 favorite Thai restaurants have 2+ hour waits on a Saturday night? Find a new favorite to add to the list! We didn't have any expectations when checking out Cozy Thai but were pleasantly surprised. Staff was on top of everything, they had a huge menu, and the food was phenomenal. They didn't have any alcoholic drink options when we were there but it looked like they were stocking a bar. We split an order of crab rangoons, and I tried the chicken drunken noodles - highly recommend both! Definitely an unassuming restaurant when you see it from the outside, but they make tremendous food.
google avatar

Layne W.

Yelp
I can't get enough of this place!!! The massaman curry is the best I've had. The spring rolls are also incredible.
google avatar

Jessica T.

Yelp
Here's the deal: I'm obsessed with this place. We have eaten here so much recently and I never get tired of it. I try something new each time and love whatever I get. The pho, duck soup, curry, any noodle dish, THE SPRINGROLLS, all so good. We mostly do take out but I did eat lunch in the restaurant once and it was clean and nice! The lunch deals are really great too. This is one of my go tos for when I don't want to cook!

Amarylis Y.

Yelp
Amazing food! Everything I've gotten has tasted great! The service is fast and they're always friendly. I'd give more stars if I could!
google avatar

Debbie K.

Yelp
I am not a Thai cuisine expert but my husband and I thoroughly enjoyed our lunch choices. My husband had pad Thai with chicken, medium heat and I had drunken noodles, mild heat. Lunch came with a cup of hot and sour soup (you could substitute a salad) and two crab Rangoon. I would return just for the hot and sour soup! Our entrees were fresh, delicious and the helpings very generous.

Janette C.

Yelp
Pad Thai was good. Ordered 3 orders of Pad Thai. One of our people asked for Medium or hot and they seemed to not get that right. Couldn't tell that any were hotter than the others. Did enjoy the crab Rangoon that came with the pad thai. We would definitely try it again.
google avatar

Azile Y.

Yelp
The sweet and sour tofu is delicious (the entree- haven't had the appetizer). Pad Thai is also great! Tom Yum soup is okay. Mostly broth. The Num Tok salad is fine, but the seafood salads are far more flavorful and exciting.

Nikki B.

Yelp
Ok... sooo I lived Cozy Thai! Would travel from the airport for it! Came in today, ordered my normal apps (crab Rangoon and chicken egg rolls) ... egg rolls are cut in half, tango s are less crab and thicker wontons. Smh... something's changed. Ordered the normal fried spicy basil rice with chicken.... The rice is steamed and on the side now instead of friend rice and mixed together... not my fave at all. It also had a lot of chunky veggies and bamboo. Wouldn't order it again. This is new owner and the food we had was not the same nor worth going back. We are very sad....
google avatar

Hannah F.

Yelp
I ordered to go this past weekend and was genuinely impressed! The crab Rangoon was kinda unique over e never had anything that tasted like it. It was good but I probably won't order it again. I also got shrimp spring rolls which were SO good! As well as the pad Thai which was good but didn't win my favorite pad Thai award. I would absolutely go here again and will have to try the curry.
google avatar

Owen T.

Yelp
Any Thai restaurant I visit in Kansas City, I always order the pad thai. I believe this dish speaks for each Thai restaurant as a whole, which might not be fair, but the pad thai was excellent here. I would recommend.
google avatar

Samantha M.

Yelp
I recently discovered Cozy Thai and the only bad thing is I didn't know about it before! Every dish I've tried has been delicious, portions are generous, staff is courteous. What else could you ask! If you love Thai, give them a try.

Yelp
Considering that this particular strip mall has been a place where businesses go to die, I was hesitant to try it. I was really craving Thai, and while my other nearby option is good, it is a bit pretentious so I threw caution to the wind. I was pleasantly surprised to find the space immaculately clean, with a warm yet simple decor. Windows face out toward 103rd St. and Watt's Mill and give the modest space a bright, open feel. I opted for dumplings as a starter on that visit, pot stickers on a follow-up visit. Both were outstanding, aided by the soy based dipping sauce that had just a hint of sweetness to counter the vinegary tang. The chicken egg rolls with sweet & sour sauce were also very good. I tried the Drunken Noodles and the Pad See Ew during those two visits, the latter accompanied by a pot of very soothing jasmine hot tea. Given the choice of heat for my entrees, I chose medium level, which was spicy enough to not need a splash of Sriracha (my "go to" for extra heat) but also not unpleasantly hot. I opted for chicken and shrimp in both of those noodle dishes, which came out promptly and with decent portions of chicken and plump shrimp. Both dishes were fresh tasting and deliciously seasoned. I highly recommend this place for the warm, casual atmosphere, the flavorful dishes, and for the attentive staff. I look forward to returning to try some rice dishes and more of that excellent jasmine tea.
