Crab Boss, first time here. First things first make a reservation before coming. We made the mistake of not making a reservation and had to be put on a waiting list but we didn’t have to wait that long (15-20 mins) ...our mistake. Oh also be prepared to walk up about two flights of steps just to get to the restaurant and another two flights to get to the rooftop. As the weather gets warmer, this could be a miserable experience. Service wasn’t bad. We did have to wait for the server to clean the table before we sat down. Drink -Island Boss was OK (too much pucker) and the food was tasty. We had the crab cake platter, shrimp fried rice and the boss fries. The owner came by our table to greet and check to see how we were doing. That’s always a plus. I would definitely come back. Come eat, drink and enjoy the atmosphere.

Don’t come here if you high blood pressure. The food is WAYYY too salty. I mean i am putting emphasis on the saltiness. It’s insane. I sent the my charbroiled oysters back because it was simply too much. I also order the seafood fried rice which came on an appetizer size plate. We were only given 1.5 hrs for our reservation. The service was super slow being seated & slow with the food coming out. I have the place 2 stars because it has so much potential to be better & i love supporting black owned businesses, but that’s about all it has right now is potential. They didn’t meet the mark for me.

I been wanting to try this place for so long an finally decided to take my gf for taco Tuesday. When we arrived, the place was empty with a few customers which was ok because it was very quiet an peaceful. We had to seat ourselves so we chose the bar area since it was our first time. The bartender came over an took our orders. We ordered two watermelon margarita 's, she had the steak tacos , I had the fish tacos, both ordered the crab fries , an a super large drink. Ok so here is the breakdown: The customer service is awful an I have to be very honest. Other than the bartender, no one else spoke to us until the owner an his wife finally came around an spoke to everyone. By this time we noticed we was waiting 30 minutes for the crab fries an a hour for our tacos. The food was ok at best but the drinks were good. I was very taken back that when the owner came over to say hello it was very short an quick conversation. Then a large group of 6 or more college students (Caucasian) came in an they were sat , an he came over an told them welcome, asked them was it their first time an told them thanks for coming an how he was going to take care of them. Then a white couple walked in an he held a conversation with them for about 10-15 minutes. My thing is why not treat everyone the same way an have that same attitude towards everyone. Also the prices that is posted on Instagram is totally different from in the restaurant. On Instagram the owner posted $10 frozen margarita 's, $10 taco's an a few other options. We ended up being charged almost $200 for what we had an it wasn't worth it. We will not be visiting again. It seem like the staff is more interested in entertaining family an friends versus their customers who come to support.

Walked up on this restaurant by accident, but it turned out to be a happy accident. Didn’t come in here for food but decided to stay for a drink. The staff was extremely friendly, pleasant and a pleasure to deal with. The drink was very good and the “seafood pizza” hopefully coming to the menu soon, is something definitely worth trying. The next time I’m in town this will be one of my first stops.

Went here for a friends birthday gathering recently and it was definitely worth the trip. The Boss Fries are a must. I indulged in the Half Bowl and the seasoning was on point. Some of the best seafood I’ve had in DC. Hallelu 🙌🏿 The owner was super friendly, the staff was masked & sanitized, and the food was delicious. I would definitely visit again.

I really wanted to like the place, but due to the service and cost, I would never dine here again. We had a reservation and arrived here about 5 mins early. The place was not busy, but it took a long time for them to clean a table and it took several minutes to seat us after we arrived. We sat for 20 minutes before someone even came to us to order our drinks. Throughout our stay it took a long time for our food to come out. The food itself was pretty good, but I feel like the presentation could have been better. The thing that shocked me the most was the price. There was a sign that advertised a frozen watermelon margarita so my friend and I got that. They then told us that they didn’t have watermelon and asked if strawberry was okay. The receipt showed that I was charged $15 for the margarita, an additional $1.5 for watermelon flavoring and $5 for tequila. We didn’t even order top shelf tequila. Also the add ins for the crab mukbang were ridiculously overpriced. I could have dined at a better quality restaurant for the same price as what I spent here. If you still decide to go here, I would recommend getting something from the regular menu such as the pasta or tacos and definitely skip the drinks.

We drove about 2 hrs just to eat here because we wanted some seafood. After stumbling on a tik tok about this place we knew we had to come. My family is full of foodies. I got the lil boss mukbang bowl with the snow crab, lobster, shrimp and other toss-ins included (if you like broccoli and corn, highly recommended) Their cajun sauce is incredibly savory and complements the seafood perfectly. Not too spicy at all! If you’re hesitating, don’t. The seafood is QUALITY and cooked to the correct doneness. Do NOT skip the crab fries. The owner stopped by and checked on us. He told us we should make a reservation for the rooftop next time. We checked it out and it was quite the sight! Til next time :)

Very delicious. Shrimp were tasty. Oysters were better on my plate never lasted a minute here. Crab legs are going home too. FAMILY PLATTER MORE THAN ENOUGH FOR 2 TRUE SEAFOOD LOVERZ. JUST THEY HAD LOBSTER AND MAC!!

I stopped by during a busy weekend in the city and the place wasn't too busy. Despite things not being busy, it took about 10 minutes for someone to come over and acknowledge my party. They were out of hush puppies and chicken wings. That was disappointing because I was quite excited that my meal came with hushpuppies. As an alternative, I asked for broccoli but that never came out. The hot honey mustard was quite delicious though. Based on the service, I give this spot 3 stars. Maybe I will go back (when they have hushpuppies) and give a more thorough review of the food.

such a disappointment. 1st when choosing what i was going to pick i was torn bc everything over priced so i had to make it make sense....so its a seafood spot, instead of getting they overpriced blue crabs or snow crabs i got the crabcakes...bc it said PLATTER im thinking one of them decent size foil platters thatll feed at least 2ppl..NO..a regular size meal...then timing...i ordered around 10 going on 11, i waited for a txt or email about my order and never received it i reached out via txt and ig and i did get a response..great..on the website it had two different times 12-2:30 and 6:30-7..i asked for clarification and got a txt saying theyll arrive at 9:45PM , i was so annoyed bc i was waiting since 2 to eat this specific meal, then took a nap waiting for the 6:30, to wake up to damn there 10PM got another txt later on saying theyll be there for sure at 8:30PM... the time comes i go, get my food and off rip the disappointment set in once again bc he handed me a regular togo box. i ordered the "BIG BOSS CRAB CAKE PLATTER" so im expecting some nice shit...mannnn that lil pup ass meal. yes, they did have what was in it clear but by the name and you cnt judge how you see things online and believe its always a accurate description but based off the name i had high expectations especially for $50. the taste of the food was mid which once again is disappointing and frustrating bc I WAS WAITING ALL DAY FOR THIS SCRUMPTIOUS GRACIOUS FOOD.they gave baby ass lemons wasnt even enough to put on my baby ass plate to add flavor to everything.one small ass potato cut in half. a baby ass corn.and i believe it was supposed to have the special/house sauce but it definitely didn't, i had to add my own butter to the corn when i heated it up. FOR $50. i gracefully take my L. the base is located out if brandywine or DC so they drove and didn't charge a delivery fee, but thats there business method so i want to be nice and give that grace/compliment but they choose to do that and even if the food ain't pippin hot when i get it the process of ordering,delivery,product should be seamless and amazing. i understand shit happens, but unfortunately it happened to me being a 1st time customer for them and i was NOT pleased, satisfied or happy with my food or having to wait literally all day for the food.

So the signature crab boss sauce, absolutely no flavor. I had the fried shrimp which was good but let me tell you about the horrible service the second time I went here. Not only did they block me on social media when I tried to reach out to them about it... the staff themselves were lazy and rude. Laughing at me when I tried to get someone's attention so I could place my order. I'm sure if I wasn't white they would have served me. They were literally just standing there laughing and no one else was in the building and I could see one online order on the monitor screen. Never will I ever recommend this place to anyone or return to this business

... Continued While standing in front of our table, he takes a call! He was rude, inconsiderate and was hella aggressive. Since there was a 18% gratuity added I signed and finally was able to happily leave! Overall, not really sure how this place is called crab boss when the crab is not PERFECTION. Also, as far as this place turning into a club; they should work on the restaurant and service first! Needless to say; ID NEVER COME BACK HERE and wholeheartedly advise others against this spot as well. Tried to support this black business but this was a horrible experience! Truly - the worst I've ever had! I call this review Dry Pasta with a side of NASTY ATTITUDE !

Crab boss is a small little place conveniently located on H St. Service was slow and waitress didn't check in on us as often as I'd like. My friend's shrimp platter was delicious and very flavorful. My order didn't come out until after he finished eating. When my food came out, the bowl was warm at best and there was only a small sprinkle of seasoning on top, the rest of the bowl was bland. Also, when I ordered the crawfish, I asked if it came with anything besides the crawfish and I was told corn and potatoes. When the check came, I was charged for the corn and potatoes on top of the crawfish so price wise, not that great. The drinks were good. Overall, just ok, there's better places to go to in the area for seafood.

I have been meaning to try Crab Boss for a while now, since their viral videos appeared on Facebook I knew I had to check them out. But I didn't want to drive out to Brandywine. It wasn't until recently, I figured out that the Crab Boss has a location in DC from an Instagram video from the eatthecapital account. I made a reservation through the open table app, be sure to make your reservation way in advance because spots fill up very quickly. I would not show up to the Crab Boss without a reservation. There options for seating are in the main dining area or the rooftop, I highly suggest the rooftop seating, great vibes and the music is on point. Tables are six feet apart and there is a QR code to view the menu. I ordered one of the Boss Fav's, Florida style charbroiled oyster's which comes with 1/2 dozen oysters broiled with parmesan cheese and topped with their famous boss sauce. There were really good but a bit expensive, $18.99 for an order. But I will definitely order these again. I also ordered the full-size combo Mukbang bowl, it comes with one crab cluster and 1/2 LB jumbo shrimp. You can pick up to four sides. I ended up ordering the egg, potatoes and corn. I wanted to try the sausage but they are pork-based. I highly suggest the Crab Boss if you are looking for a nice brunch spot with your friends or family. The staff and the owner are super friendly, he takes his time to walk up to each table and ask about their experience. Parking is a bit limited in this area.

Just sat down and well, let's see what the food do... I asked for a gin and tonic and they only have rail gin. So they don't have a full bar... they don't have coke or lemonade so forget about it LOL! Are they serious!!! They only have Coke Zero lol lol. So I ordered fried whiting with fries and hush puppies. The food was good, it was seasoned really well and the pieces were big. It was a good portion for everything. The customer service is a joke. I had to ask for napkins and utensil's, which I ended up eating with my fingers the entire time. No refill on water ....

I've been wanting to try this spot and it was worth the wait! They have a rooftop patio which was perfect for the sunny day. Just be prepared for a lot of stairs to get up there lol. They were playing some really good old school hip hop so we were having fun singing along. Good vibes to start. I had looked at the menu ahead of time and still couldn't decide what to get because I wanted everything! We shared the garlic parmesan wings which were really good. I pieced together a meal so that I could try lots of things. I ordered a crab leg cluster, a piece of fried catfish, seafood mac and cheese, and corn on the cob. All of it was delicious! Seasoned well and not overcooked. My friends had fried shrimp, seafood fried rice, and the mukbang bowls. Everyone enjoyed their meals. They remind you of the time limit when you sit down so don't expect to sit there for three hours. It was brunch time so were busy and it was a little hectic, but we ended up getting everything that we ordered correctly. Definitely make a reservation a head of time and sit on the rooftop! I already want more crab legs!

Crab Boss has replaced Ben's upstairs. I was excited to check This Black owned spot and the location on H street. Unfortunately,the extensive promo of the spot - did not live up to the hype. I met a girlfriend last night for 8pm. We really wanted to sit on the rooftop, but it was packed! So, we went back to the main level. First, customer service fail. The hostess wasn't the warmest or the most friendly. First strike, we asked for a table near the back and was told there was none. Then, as we were getting told our table, another hostess sat a party of 2 at our table. I will say the light hued server was very nice! She listened to every request. Despite this, the speed of getting food out was long. It took forever for our food. When the food came out, we had to ask for utensils and napkins. Sadly, We didn't get our drinks until 850pm. So, we waited at least 30 mins for libations :( For my appetizer, I ordered 10 BOSS CHICKEN WINGS. Honey Garlic was delicious! For my drinks, I started with the PANTY RIPPA. It contains Malibu Rum, Crème of Coconut, and crushed pineapple. It was strong and hit the spot. For my second drink, I ordered a frozen strawberry daiquiri. This was delicious! For my dinner, I ordered the LIL BOSS bowl. It contained One snow crab cluster, 1/2 LB of jumbo shrimp, and 5 oz lobster tail topped with crab boss sauce and seasoning. I was not impressed with the sauce or seasoning. It was meh.For my sides, I had corn, broccoli, egg, and sauce. The $42.99 for the lil bowl was overpriced and didn't have enough food. With that, This place has potential. It's in a great location and it's buzzing on a Friday. The female hostess didn't seem to want to be there and was on her phone.

It's Black History month right? We are still supporting our Black-owned restaurants correct? Well yes it is and yes we are. Crab Boss has been on our list and we've finally been able to make it down to DC to try it. Even through Covid, Crab Boss has found a way to ensure you get your seafood cravings and stay safe at the same time. The staff is wearing gloves and masks and they make sure the customers wear mask as well. There are hand sanitizing stations in and around the restaurant as well. And the food! Man is the food satisfying. We ordered the family seafood boil. OMG, that thing could feed about 5 people. The size of the shrimp, the clusters of crab legs, sausage, corn and potatoes will fill you up. The flavor is on point and it is all worth the price. Most black owned businesses get basked for having bad customer service, not Crab Boss. Our waitress was very attentive and inviting, and other staff came to our table to check on us as well. We have already made plans to take our sons the next time we go to Crab Boss. After all, we are the Foodie Bunch!

I am lost as to why Crab Boss doesn't have four stars or more on Yelp! I have been following Mr. Crab Boss himself for years on Instagram and couldn't wait to visit his restaurant. Finally, on Valentines' Day I made the trip down to DC to give Crab Boss a try! Due to Covid, I always verify with the restaurant beforehand if they take reservations. Thankfully, Crab Boss accepts reservations through Open Table and I was able to make reservations for the same day through their app rather than just showing up at the restaurant. Thank God for technology! When my fiancé and I arrived at the restaurant, we found parking right in front. Parking in D.C. is often times horrible, so we really lucked up. When we walked into the building, we were immediately greeted by two flights of steps before we were ran into an actual person. After the friendly host verified our reservation, we walked up another two flights of steps to get to our table. This is the only negative about Crab Boss, I couldn't imagine coming down all of those steps after a little alcohol overindulgence. But I am sure in the summertime, sitting on the open patio on the top of the building at night would provide a dope experience so I most definitely will be back in the summer! After finally being seated, we were greeted by a nice lady who immediately informed us of their Valentines' Day specials. Since I already had been eyeing the restaurants for a few years now, I knew I wanted to try one of the infamous crab boils. We quickly placed our order and relaxed in the almost nightclub like atmosphere. While waiting for our main course, we enjoyed a few drinks and some wings. The wings were cooked perfectly and, while this may not be a big deal for others, they actually served us an equal amount of drums and flats! My drink was titled the Panty Rippa and let me tell you, that thang was strong and extremely tasty, I just had to have two! Prior to bringing out our seafood boil, the waitress placed a small bucket on our table for trash, along with some paper napkins and a few to-go containers. Soon after, the waiter delivered an amazing bowl of deliciousness to our table and we IMMEDIATELY dug in! I was completely taken aback by the size of the boil! When the menu said that it feeds two to four people, they definitely were not lying! It contained crab legs, jumbo shrimp, sausage, corn and potatoes. The portions were HUGE and the flavors were delicious! What really impressed me the most about my visit was the service. Not only was the owner present, he walked around to each table greeting his patrons. Additionally, the wait staff was very attentive. There was constantly someone at our table checking in on us, making sure we didn't needed anything. This was a really dope experience and I can't wait to return. Hopefully Covid will soon be a thing of the past and we can really enjoy the full experience. Make sure you support this black-owned business!

Came here on a Friday evening. We had reservations for 6pm, and were seated on the rooftop right away. Pretty cold night, but the overhead heaters were convenient as long as you're sitting in the right spot. Ask about the time limit when you sit down. We were unaware!! Towards the end of the meal, our waiter came us to us and aaid the hostess said we had 3 minutes left. THREE. It would've been nice to know maybe 10-12minutes before time was up, but we wrapped it up and left. As for the food... we sat down at 6, and our food arrived at 6:40. I ordered the chargrilled oysters (hoping they'd be anything like New Orleans). They weren't bad at all! Good taste plus a squeeze of lemon. I was definitely satisfied. I also got the catfish platter. The fries and hushpuppies (no substitutions) were both lukewarm, but the fish was very good. You get 2 pieces, and i ate one and had another piece leftover. My friends got the crabcake platter and the 1/2lb boil. They had no complaints. Definitely support if you're in the area! I have ot admit. I was scared based on some of the reviews. But, the best way to solve that is to Try it for yourself!!

I hate to say it, but this was by far the worst customer service I'd ever received. I'd always looked forward to eating at this establishment since the last time was in 2017 where I had to travel to Brandywine MD. I remember....it was the Best. June 4, 2021, I'd stopped by the DC location. I was told that I had to order from my phone for a to go order. I thought "Cool!" However when I saw the wait time was an hour I went upstairs and asked if I could dine in instead. I was allowed to sit and eat at the bar, but was told that my food would come out prepared to go. Since it's COVID I didn't question (while thinking, it's going to be an hour, why can't I switch) As I was waiting, 3 customers came in, told to order on the app, and went....let's get a table instead. So with that, I checked off the only reason I didn't protest, (maybe the tables available are already reserved). My food came out prepared to go and bagged up. So I I bagged it and ate at the bar. The shrimp were "Spicy!" No where on the menu didn't it indicate that it was spicy. I like a lil spice but it was inedible for me. The Lobster add on was the same size as a shrimp, and dry and hard. I couldn't believe I paid and additional (I don't even remember) to eat "THAT." The Potatoes tastes as if I received something that should of went in the trash. The crab legs were good and so was the boss sauce that came out during the end of my meal. I paid $80 plus so I forced myself to like it but that's not right. I'm a business owner myself and I know the owner would not be happy with what happened during my visit. I plan to visit again, however I'm going to make the drive to Brandywine MD. V/R I am critic

Visiting from Cali, while in DC had a chance to check out CB per the locals recommendations. My server Jade was friendly, knowledgeable about the menu options and was honest that they were out of some of the popular items such as blue crab. This was the reason I deducted a star. The atmosphere is upbeat, lively music and plenty TVs to catch a sporting events. Talking to the staff they did mentioned the rooftop is open most days when the weather is good. Unfortunately, I came in on a day when there was light drizzle. Overall, I enjoyed the food and s/o to Jade who was very patient and prompt with customer service. The staff was closing early but allowed me to stay a little longer since I had some extra crab legs needing more tender loving care. Go ahead check them out and don't forget to tip

I love me some seafood eats and this place didn't disappoint. We stopped by here to have a quick meal before the show started. The restaurant was located up the stairs and few tables surround the bar in the middle. I would come back and try out more of the menu items.

I really don't want to write this review but I have to. I prepaid and met the truck in Gaithersburg, MD. And yes, they were 30 minutes late as stated by a previous reviewer. The Seafood Mac and Crab Cake had a lot of shells in it. Unfortunately, I did not anticipate it to take me 3 hours to eat my food. If you're not going to pull out shells, perhaps you should lower the prices. I've been wanting to try this place since 2021. What a waste of money and time. VERY DISAPPOINTED

I ordered from Crab Boss after coming across the pictures of seafood online. I opted to try the Mukbang Half Combo, which consists of 3 snow crab legs, 1/4 lb jumbo shrimp, and two sides. I chose corn and broccoli for my sides. I also paid $1.25 for extra boss sauce. My order arrived after an hour wait. However, I was still excited to give this place a try. Upon opening the container, I noticed a platter that as well put together. Now, let's discuss the food. The crab legs were nice and fresh. They had a little seasoning on them as did the shrimp. The corn was a little spicy and well seasoned and so was the broccoli. I wish the shrimp and crablegs had more seasoning. I also paid for extra "boss sauce," but found very little sauce in my platter overall. Maybe extra sauce or drawn butter would have had added extra flavor to the crablegs and shrimp. I would order from Crab Boss again, but I would have to request more old bay for my taste buds.

I've been waiting a year to try this place! When this place first opened back up after being closed for Covid-19, reservations were through the roof. There was no such thing as walking in, you either had a reservation or had to miss out. This time around, I made sure to get a reservation, but surprisingly enough, this place wasn't as busy as I thought it would be. This turned out to be a great thing, because it allowed me and my best friend to talk and catch up with no problem. I ended up getting the Mukbang bowl with 1/2 order of mussels, 1/2 order of lobster, and corn (fyi for the bowl you have to pay for each item in the bowl). I chose the Crabboss sauce with the Duval garlic seasoning. IT WAS BOMB! I was so glad that I was able to stop by here this time around during my visit to D.C. The seasoning was perfect, the food didn't come out too hot, and I loved every single bite. I did try a bit of my friend's Seafood mac & cheese, I didn't think it was anything special unfortunately and the mac & cheese did taste a bit dry for my tastebuds. Although, my food was phenomenal, I did give this place 4 stars because we had waited 10 minutes for a free table for our reservation and about 25-30 minutes for our food to come out (we knew this wasn't usual because our waitress had stopped by our table twice to say she was "checking on our food"). In addition to the long wait, we also weren't given silverware and the shell bucket until after our food had already came out. It also took another 20 minutes to pay as well. Despite the long wait, I'd definitely want to eat here again! I'd more than likely would just grab a seat at the bar versus an actual table though :)

We went here today for lunch. When you first walk in you go upstairs to get to the restaurant. I believe the restaurant is two floors but we are in the first floor. Hostess sat us she was friendly and prompt. Waitress came after everyone was seated . We ordered crap spinach dip with bread. It was really good. We ordered whiting meal platter with French fried and hush puppies. It comes with two large pieces of fish defiantly a lot of food. My girl got a mukbowl and choose what she wanted Inside. And her mom has the fish sandwich meal. Overall the food was good. We also got the buckets I can't recall the name of mine but it was good and had me feeling nice.

This is my second time at this location, and honestly...probably my last. I came here over a year ago, and although I knew there were some problems (bad service, weak drinks, etc.) I decide to give it another shot. It was not worth it. First of all, it is extremely overpriced. The new "menu" is a la carte everything, so if you want a mukbang bowl, you have to pay for everything in the bowl -- they no longer have the combinations/pre set bowls they had before. With that being said, to get a combination that used to cost $40 is now costing upwards of $60. Second, the quality of the food is not worth what it costs. The seafood does taste fresh -- however the seasoning and the "boss sauce" is scarce. I asked for more sauce because my food barely had any and I was up charged. And even with the extra sauce, the food still did not taste seasoned -- so the extra sauce really didn't make a difference (except on my bill). Finally, the service at this location is terrible. My waitress seemed like she was uninterested in servicing us -- as if our presence was bothersome. We had some questions about the menu change and every answer she gave us was very short and curt. We also believe that she may have been under the influence of somethings -- but I cannot confirm that. She introduced herself then went missing for a good 15 minutes, while we just waited for her to come back and take our drink orders. It was even worse waiting for her to get the food orders. And goodness, it took almost 30 minutes for her to come back for us to even request the check.

too much sodium used in the products portions can be light at times but appreciate his bombastic style a little to much for us

July 2021- I'm not sure where to start! We had a 7pm reservation for 4 on a Friday evening. Since our table wasn't available when we arrived, we waited in the bar area and was told by the manager we would receive complimentary cocktails. The bar staff was less than energized- not one staff member seemed motivated to have a job. After waiting an hour with no complimentary cocktails less even receiving eye contact from any of the bar staff, we were finally taken to our table on the rooftop. The waitresses on the rooftop were much better with customer service. The manager came by again to check on us. I thought the effort was nice. There were 3 empty tables around us. After ordering we waited another hour and 10 minutes before receiving our order... remember those 3 tables surrounding us? All there were sat and served within that time. Finally, our food came as the other tables sat around us were either leaving or waiting to pay for their food. The manager was called again to give corrective criticism on the service provided- 1) don't take so many reservations if you cannot honor them in a timely manner 2) close for a day or two and provide real training to these young and unmotivated staff members 3) your team represents you! Even if you have gone above and beyond to check on us, your staff should match you or find a new job. We were mostly prior military and have actual experience with subordinates. His response? "Military- oh that's that white man ish." Way to serve your veterans! Issues we had we food were 1) finding out crab legs were out of stock after waiting an hour to receive them 2) oysters ordered were never put in 3) bug in drink/ waiting 20 minutes to receive another one 4) wait for food to come out

Saturday night and hungry: I had family visiting H Street and no plan for dinner. Crab Boss satisfied everyone with well spiced seafood bowls and great happy hour (HIGHLY recommend) fried garlic shrimp, french fries and hush puppies. Refreshing drinks and party music with games on tv as well. Jamal stopped by and chatted with us and our server Shaniece kept the drinks coming and confirmed we made good menu choices with mukbang bowls - steamed shrimp, mussels and even tried cajun eggs. Lovely rooftop, watched the sun set - thanks for kicking off our night right!!!

Food was not all that great for the price! Service was awful along with the wait time (I believe our waitress had to have gone on a break twice). Bathroom was not clean.

Been studying this place for a while,meaning the Menu. I finally figured out what I wanted before I got there. Strike one,I walk with cane and no elevator at this location. So walking up to the roof top is not my idea of hiking for a Meal. Strike 2,remember I've been studying the menu and the menu that you see I took a picture of is more a Ala carte menu,which would be more than ordering a combo like the "LiL Boss" which actually a item but how would you know if you can't see it. Don't get me wrong the waitress did give me a opinion for more Snow Crab but I chose shrimp because I'm not a big fan of Crab legs and just wanted a little bit of errthing. Strike 3,No Lobster tail, I know I asked for extra shrimp to take the place of not having the Lobster tail but I was really there for the Lobster Tail Which I love. This was my 1st Seafood place outside of the you buy we fry spots. I had leftovers but I handed it to one of the Homeless person at one of the Metro Train station. Why 2 stars,well one might be to low and 3 would be to high. So if anyone is reading this from Crab Boss,I don't give a 2nd chance once I gave a low rating, thanks but no thanks. I thought about it but when I thought about the walk up the stairs,I just can't see myself taking a hike just to eat.

I really wanted to love this place. I live on H Street and love to support black owned business but the experience today was beyond egregious, so I am sorry I must leave a negative review. To start, it was raining so no they were not over run with patrons. We arrived around 6pm on a rainy Tuesday. We were not greeted nor seated nor given a menu the first. After sitting for about 10 minutes, we asked is there a menu we can see, we are given QR menus, fine. The ladies next to us had physical menus and water so we figured surely someone would be there to serve us soon... we were wrong. The QR menu only had the taco Tuesday menu which includes a three taco platter and Street tacos a la carte THAT IS IT as far as food. After a few more minutes, the lovely patrons at the table next to us were nice enough to give us the full menu. 10-15 minutes later the only waitress on duty takes the booth in front of us order and takes the order of the women next to us as a well. She finally gets to us and apologizes for the wait and thanks us for our patience. ATP it is 6:47. We order Street tacos the taco platter seafood macaroni pie and angry buffalo shrimp. By 8 we only receive the tacos and the macaroni pie, one round of drinks and water. When we attempt to order another round the waitress keeps walking away from us mid sentence and she only came to us when we asked her about 50% of the time. She did finally take okie second round of drinks after 3 requests and us sucking down the first round and the waters. ATP the owner comes in, he's speaking to the other patrons and checking on them... he never checks on us. Not until we call him over. Before he comes over to speak to us the waitress comes out and asks, what tacos are y'all still missing, I tell her the shrimp that was ordered doesn't need to come out we are ready to leave. She says ok and walks away. Doesn't offer to bring us the check nothing. The owner finally comes over he does apologize and asks how he can make it right but he also offers a lot of excuses & reasons... why can't your waitstaff explain that? Isn't that apart of customer service? Didn't yall shut down last December to retrain staff? I am very understanding and patient, why is your staff not equipped to handle customer service? Anyway we tell him we don't want to pay for the items we did receive. He says ok he needs to review the check. He never comes back. We use the restroom and leave NEVER to return. Please save your time and your money. This establishment obviously doesn't need the business.

After a long night at work, I wanted both good customer service and great food. My first experience at Crab Boss tonight matched both of those desires in addition to providing fresh air blowing from the rooftop deck and lively music. Upon entering I was immediately greeted by a gentleman who presented me with various seating options and helped me understand the lay of the land as he handed me off to my server. The young lady quickly provided water and guided me through the online menu. The snow crab legs was the best choice for me. Everything came out exceptionally well seasoned and juicy. I appreciated several servers checking on my status throughout the evening and the owner providing additional details on how the multi-level restaurant functions on other nights. Crab Boss is a win in my book and I must say that I needed this tonight. It has been a LONG DAY and I was exceptionally cared for by the members of this restaurant team. Support their endeavors and enjoy the food!

I'm giving a 3 star because the service was not bad. It did take a long time for our drinks to be served, we also ordered an appetizer and it never arrived we was finally told after we received and started eating our food that the appetizer was not available apparently they ran out. I ordered the crab bowl and it was decent I did add some more old bay season to add extra flavor and I should have requested more sauce. We asked to speak to one of the owners because both were there that day and the wife came over and talked to us, she was very nice and understanding and she took the time to listen, she also gave us a discount on our total bill which was nice of her. I ordered the fried catfish platter and it was very good the French fries was perfect I have never taste perfect French fries and I ordered this entree to go so I didn't immediately eat it until later and was surprised that the fries was so perfect. I definitely would go again because the place continuously make changes to try and satisfy their customers. I would go back and try the rooftop area, we could hear the atmosphere and music going on so I want to definitely check it out next time.

A group of 9 of my foodie buddies and I decided to try Crab Boss. I heard about the owner's inspiring story so was eager to give it a try. It was a not so crowded Friday night so we were glad our group size wouldn't be too much to handle. Debron, our server was so sweet and helpful. First several of us ordered a round of drinks. One of my friends ordered the crab bucket of hunch punch and she loved it. Another friend ordered a drink and it came with an extremely long hair in it. Debron quickly took it away and made sure a new one was made for her. I ordered the catfish and Debron suggested I upgrade the regular fries to the crab boss fries. Crab fries sounded good to me so I decided to give them a try. When our orders came out, several of our orders were missing items or just wrong. My fries were the regular fries but Debron assured me she would bring me an order of the crab fries after the kitchen made more Alfredo sauce. Well I took a bite of my fish and it wasn't catfish but Whiting, which I don't like. The staff seemed so overwhelmed so I just kept it. The hush puppies were small but not very flavorful. I finally received my crab fries and the first few fries were awesome! Creamy Alfredo sauce mingled with the crab on top of crispy fries perfectly. But there was way too much sauce and the rest of the fries were drowned in sauce so they were inedible. I noticed several in our group also were only able to eat a few of the crab fries. We were all quite disappointed in our meal. If I try Crab Boss again, it definitely will have to be with a smaller group.

I thought the food was amazing...the crab fries were the best...a lot of crab meat...fries were hot and crispy...a must try...we had a little of everything...the cujan seafood pasta was also very good...shrimp were a little over cooked, a lot of crabmeat...the shrimp po boy was very flavorful and delicious...shrimp were a little over cooked...did not like the seafood tacos...something was off...did not send back because our overall experience was really good...we went late in the evening because the Brandywine location was closed...she girl who seated us was very friendly...however, the bartender ended up being our waitress and she was awesome...best service I've had in a long time...she was definitely amazing!! we didn't get to try the seafood Mac and cheese so we will go back...overall experience was excellent.

Sooooooooooooooooooooooooooo where do I start. I follow the IG Page food always look amazing. However what I experienced I could have stayed at home. Boss fries where good. the Boil.. Trash, the shrimp were over cooked and mushy yuck hurt my feelings. Friend ordered half lb of the boil order lb of the boil the difference was one crab leg. Smh... the server/bartender service was GREAT, friendly personality. Drinks where the best thing out of this whole experience. Which is SAD. Also why they get two stars. No gumbo No oyster Two of the items I went there for. From the IG page the the gumbo was suppose to be slap yo momma good but hey who knows I didn't get a chance to slap Patricia. Nevertheless will I return ummmmmmm it's up in the air right now. I don't know PERIOD.

And the Stars are for our Waiter he actually deserves 5 Stars! Crab Boss do Better! I don't ever have a problem paying the price for good quality food! Let's start with the appetizer...It was supposed to be crab and spinach dip! More like a hot bowl of Spinach with a few and I do mean a few specks of crab! Oh the little bread was good. I ordered the Bowl , the crab legs were small and over cooked to the point that I gave up trying. The one potato tasted like it was 5 days old. The one piece of corn was very small! And one last thing...the automatic gratuity added for a party of 2 is not the standard! And I still tipped our waiter an extra $20 and so it's never about the cost!

Not sure why the reviews are so low. This place is delicious! Portions are small unless you want to pay an arm and a leg but it is so so worth it. Best hush puppies I've ever had. The sauce over the crab boil is to DIE for.

Came way from out of town to visit this restaurant since it's Florida style where I am originally from. I got way up the 3/4 flights of stairs around 6pm which the location on H street opens at 5pm. The door girl tells me they are completely full. I said ok and she proceeded to say thank you for coming. I then ask is there at least a wait list or something. She states they are to capacity. I asked so does that mean after everyone that eats that are already in there y'all are closing? She says yeah. 10/10 would not recommend! Customer service is everything and bad business is just bad business!

came here on an early Saturday afternoon. i called at around 1:20pm to inquire about reservations/wait times and was given a 1:30 pm reservation with a 30 minute grace period. I felt that was a very nice accommodation, to allow me time to get there. i ordered the cajun seafood pasta, and i must say it was COVERED in seasoning. i didn't enjoy it at all. i can't say that i won't ever come back again, but i do know to ask for light seasoning if there's a next time. also. price point was a bit too high. not sure how they think this pasta is worth $30 bucks.

I paid $63.57 for TRASH pure garbage. Cold stale crab boss fries with some sauce thrown on top. Then the shrimp Po Boy was hard with a side of extra stale cold fries. Be careful when ordering online ( even though I wouldn't feed this TRASH to my dogs or recommend you eat here either) they don't advertise that fries come with the sandwich so you get tricked into buying the boss fries for $16.00 or ordering a side of fries for $8.50 when the cold brick Po Boy already comes with cold stale fries. I hate when we attempt to support businesses like these in our communities only to find out your paying for the name on the building. Sometimes expansion isn't good if it causes you to cut back on the quality of the food and services. I honestly want my money back because I had to discard $63.57 worth of cold a$$ food.

Went to Crab boss on a Thursday night with me and my sister and it was definitely a nice little vibe. They take reservations and walk ins but there might be a short wait for walk ins. All tables were spaced apart, all staff had on masks. The service was ok ... it took the server a while to greet us but after that she's was great. I ordered the half combo of the Mukang bowls and it was a 10/10 .. I was got some seafood fried rice to go and also 10/10... Food was great. Music was good mix of old school and new school hip hop and r&b.. My sister also got the seafood fried rice and loved it.

Stopped in here one night recently for a quick bite. Ordered a few drinks (which absolutely did the job!!), a crabcake (just ok) some Cajun crabfries (pretty decent), seafood fried rice with "jumbo" shrimp (pretty good but just heavily seasoned), and catfish (absolutely delicious but watch out for bones). As you can see, I wanted a sample of everything and I definitely left with a to go bag. I had heard about this establishment's food truck, so I decided to try their brick and mortar spot. The ambiance is regular and after sitting on those not so comfy bar stools my legs were a little wobbly. I'd definitely go back again but it will just be for the catfish.

Been to this spot a few times and ordered online recently. I've seen some negative reviews regarding service and I've been told by family and friends, but I've personally never experienced it. Sounds like they have issues when the restaurant is at capacity. (I've only been when it was ji empty) As far as my experience, no issues; friendly staff, solid food, and good drinks. I don't care for the canned cocktails and if you're looking for a buzz generally, don't get them. I don't eat seafood boils, so I can't comment on those but I do like the crab fries and seafood Mac & cheese. Charbroiled oysters are eh, like decent for D.C. I guess but after having them once I'm good. Overall it's a cool spot, they have music playing, but not somewhere I'd go often since I'm not a seafood fan. Also mobile order option is effortless. Get a text when ready and it's put in a locker (Amazon locker-ish)

If you ordered this off the menu, they didn't have it. If you ordered that off the menu, they didn't have it. I'm like "damn" what do you mofos have besides water? Sheesh! The crab boss in DC ain't it for me

Food tasted great. Visiting from the west coast, it was my first time having a lobster roll. Nice sized pieces of lobster came on a roll about the size of a small hot dog bun. While that seemed small to me, I have no idea if that's the expectation. Shared that and a crab cake with my companion, and the crab cake was equally as delicious. Staff was efficient and friendly. Overall great experience. 4stars only because we left feeling like we'd had starters rather than a meal.

After first arriving to your DC location this past Saturday, I was told you were out of corn and sausage. I decided instead I would head to your Brandywine location which fortunately was on the way home for me. Food was delicious and service was best I've encountered in a long time at Crab Boss. I will stick with that location going forward. Thank you

Start to say people were super nice. However, we went to a place that specializes in crab with NOTHING to crack the crab with except a plastic fork. No napkins. No cocktail sauce, no butter and lemon, no soda, no iced tea..... Tacos were Kraft cheese slices in quesadilla shells with 3 strips of peppers and bland or old fish/shrimp........ had to ask for the crab to be removed from my bill because i couldn't eat it...... hush puppies were amazing, as were crab fries. But that's where it ends.

Excellent food and service. The crab legs were well seasoned. Service the was excellent and quick. Highly recommend.

The boss fries and the angry shrimp were AMAZING!! Dabron was our waitress and she was so fun. She gave great recommendations and was so friendly.

Let's talk about black excellence! From the food to the service to the vibes. Just on point. The food was absolutely amazing! Some of the best I've ever had. Your Bowie and Brandywine location were just the beginning. We ordered the Lil Boss, Seafood Mac n Cheese, Oysters and Hushpuppies. Everything was top notch and served to perfection. The owner stopped by our table and was so kind and friendly. Our server was on top of everything. I'll be back!

Definitely won't be back. This is based off the bathroom. I don't revisit restaurants if the bathroom is dirty. There were several employees there just sitting around and talking so there's no reason it should've been dirty. Also, the setting was unprofessional. Way too many employees sitting around on their phone. There was a purse and phone charging on the bar smh which belonged to an employee. The food was not good and over priced. I was extremely disappointed. Will not recommend.

So I've been wanting to try this food out for almost 2 years but them getting a location in DC sealed the deal. We had a reservation right at opening time and got seated right away. Waiter was friendly and attentive. We had the boss fries as an appetizer and they were amazing. The fries alone were great but the toppings took it to the next level. For our meals we did the shrimp po boy and the little combo I think it was called. And both were so good and we were sad when they were gone! I will definitely be back. Only cons is plastic silverware but they did have crab crackers on demand.
