Cracker Barrel Adds Alcohol to Its National Menu for the First Time | Eater

"After 51 years operating as an old-fashioned, family-oriented “old country store,” the chain is adding alcohol to its menu for the first time: it tested beer, wine and mimosas at select locations earlier this year, has made the change permanent, and plans to expand to most locations by the end of 2020. Company spokespeople say offering beer and wine will reduce the “veto vote” — diners who would otherwise choose the restaurant but go elsewhere to have an alcoholic drink — especially at weekend dinners. The move mirrors pandemic-driven trends and relaxed liquor rules that have helped eateries survive by selling cocktails-to-go, bottled drinks and other alcohol options, and reflects a pragmatic pivot toward revenue generation. Observers note the decision also signals a departure from the chain’s longstanding image and controversial past employment policies — at one point prohibiting hiring of LGBTQ workers — and lawsuits alleging racial discrimination." - Jenny G. Whenever I'm in the area of Cracker Barrel, I stop and just sit alone and have a good breakfast. The wait staff is always so friendly and will have a conversation with me if they have time. Its always enjoyable and the food is great.

We always enjoy this particular location and have never had a bad experience with food or service. Love all the Southern sides, country fried everythang and the overpriced but nostalgic gift shop.

I recently dined at Cracker Barrel with my wife, and while our experience started off on a positive note thanks to our waitress Kristin, it quickly went downhill from there. Kristin was incredibly friendly and warm, making us feel welcome from the moment we sat down. Unfortunately, her excellent service couldn't compensate for the subpar food that followed. To say the food was disappointing would be an understatement. It felt as if the quality standards had taken a nosedive. The bacon was ice cold, which is simply unacceptable for a breakfast dish. My eggs were barely warm as well, leaving me questioning whether they had been prepared just moments before they reached our table or if they had been sitting around for far too long. It's frustrating when you expect a hearty meal and receive something that feels neglected. Additionally, the cleanliness of the dining experience left much to be desired. The cups we were served were stained and appeared dirty, which only added to our overall dissatisfaction. In a place where comfort food is supposed to shine, these details are critical and can truly ruin the experience. While I would rate the service we received from Kristin as five stars due to her attentiveness and friendliness, I can only give the food a dismal one star. It’s disheartening to see such a disparity between service and food quality at a chain that has built its reputation on providing both. Overall, I cannot recommend this location based on my experience. There are better options out there if you're looking for a satisfying meal with proper hygiene standards.

Stopped in for a quick breakfast. Waitress came pretty quick and took my order. I waited about 30 minutes for a couple pancakes. Then I asked for more coffee, which never came. I didn’t get any silverware either. After a while, I had to finally get up and go upfront to ask for my coffee and silverware. My waitress never came back to my table. I finally had to get up and go upfront and try to figure out if my check was gonna come. Absolutely, horrible service.

I travel across the country extensively and eating at known establishments gives me some sense of normality. However over the past few years, Cracker-barrel has been one of my least patron places. The food quality has fallen shot of what it once was. It all seem pre-prepared. The only thing that seem fresh is the fried eggs and most of the time they are cold. Like they were the first things cooked. I know they had a change of high management a few years ago. My Family wanted to go here. The pancakes were decent everything else was just above room temperature. This has been my experience no matter what State or City I am in. So the problem is not with the individual restaurants. It’s a company problem. The waitress was nice and did a good job. None of this was her fault. The staff was nice.

Our waiter was a very nice young man! My sangria drink arrived without ice and was flat and warm. Next to our table was a very upsetting, dirty scene. We tried to get a manager to voice concerns but we didn’t connect. I was really looking forward to a nice friendly dinner out but will not return to this location.

Came and the employees in the kitchen greeted me well and everything but the front of the house where the gifts and stuff get sold she saw me no greeting or nothing and walked away.

Went here while visiting on our gurls trip on 7/19/25, It was very friendly and the food was good. Our waitress was friendly and very kind and soft spoken. Another guest at a different table was being very mean and nasty to her and she remained kind and soft spoken never matched energy for energy. I was impressed. The place was very busy and she remained cool and calm. People should stay at home if they don’t know how to talk to people and treat people.
