The waitress I had was great. I wish I would've gotten her name. She was delightful to have as a waitress! Great service from her as well as the other employees I came into contact with. I was seated immediately but I also came in around 7ish. Everything looked clean. The only reason for three stars is because of the food. I hadn't been to Cracker Barrel in over 5+ years, and I had been on the road traveling all day from Indiana and has skipped out on lunch. I seen numerous signs in Kentucky with blueberry pancakes, so I ordered the grandma sampler with blueberry pancakes. All the meet was terribly dry and the hash browns casserole was dry 😭 The pancakes were good and the eggs were cooked to my liking.

We were seated right away, our waitress was great, food came quickly. The sales associate was helpful with using a E-gift card. The entire experience was great. Love eating at Cracker Barrel no matter where we are.

Chris Hamm

Google
This place has great hospitality, and the food is perfectly cooked and super flavorful. The gift shop has an entire space exhibit right now which I love, and they have a ton of stuff to choose from right now 💯

Celeste Zipperer

Google
Was packed because of Mother's Day, but they were efficient at getting folks lined up and seated inside as quickly as possible. Waitress was extremely busy, but she was kind and didn't seem harried.

I ordered curbside pickup today for the first time. I chose the meatloaf and chicken finger meal for my family. The meal fed 5 people with 2 fingers left over along with another serving of potatoes and dumplings. It could have easily fed another child. I am very pleased with the quality and amount of food. I will definitely be purchasing this again for my family when we need a quick meal and no time to cook. Perfect for the busy family.

Google
The waitress was great! However the food was not so good. I had breakfast, the hash browns were cold, the gravy was cold, and the biscuits were cold and gummy. I didn't complain, because it wasn't the waitress' fault. But I won't be going back. This was in Rocky Top, TN

Danyel Staley

Google
My service was not good. The waitress didn’t not get what I asked for. Had to have ticket adjusted twice. Asked for a sandwich with cheese … half a slice of cheese 2 tenders dressed like a sandwich … no mayo tomato pickle or lettuce … was told I could add each as a vegetable for $3 each

Google
Best meal that we have had at any Cracker Barrel! I had the chicken and Dumplings and they were wonderful. Usually they are a gummy glob ( even though taste great). These were hot fresh and in a broth like dumplings should be. Waitress was also very attentive.

Yelp
Food was DELICIOUS! Chloe the worker was AWESOME she was always in a happy mood and deserves a huge tip! its very chill here and honestly made me tired. the cherry lemonade wasn't my favorite but it was good. (it has a slight cough medicine taste)

Yelp
Hot mess of a Cracker Barrel. Manager was rude and condescending to us and multiple patrons. Dirty tables and stinky bathroom.

Yelp
Wonderful as always! Jessica made it even more so! Best pancakes, hash brown casserole and grits!

Yelp
Rocky Top Tennessee! KUDOS and thanks to Tina for providing supreme quality service at Crackel Barrel! Everything on the menu was so good to choose from I could decide what to eat...so Ms. Tina helped give me some suggestions. I decided to order French Toast, soft egg, sausage, and a loaded sweet potato. When I ate the French Toast she brought along some butter pecan syrup which was sweet delight and made the French Toast the star! They have the best smoked sausage patties I've ever had! But the loaded sweet potato takes the cake. It was covered in butter, pecans, and toasted marshmallows which made an excellent dessert I would say! Please come visit this classic Cracker Barrel here at Rocky Top, TN and ask for Ms. Tina!

Yelp
We stopped off in Rocky Top for lunch on our return trip from KY to NC. Upon our arrival, we were told there would be a 30 minute wait for a table for two. We almost left to gain more ground on our travels - it was only going to be 34 minutes to the next CB - we're glad we stayed! We rocked in chairs outside the restaurant, and our names were called before a whole country song could play. It was busy inside, due, in part, to an elderly church tour group and a large group of kiddos on a school field trip. Our server was Montana. Her service was phenomenal! She was polite, quick and attentive. Our food was hot and well-seasoned. The sweet tea was without a doubt the best we'd had all week, having visited KY and IN. The cashier (I wish I had thought to get her name) was so pleasant, and shared some local history imparted to her from one of the field trip kids. It was possibly the best experience we've had at any Cracker Barrel. Great staff, excellent food!

Yelp
Tastes just like grandma & mama use to make Love the lil country store & atmosphere. Feels like home. Food, Service & Ambience is the Best.

Yelp
The food was excellent, and the server was great. However, my friend and I experienced 2 problems that were staffing related. There is only one person at the front desk, and with long lines to be seated, another person is needed to seat the people, leaving the person at the front to manage the seating list. But the biggest problem was the amount of time it took us to pay our bill. The longs were line and very poorly organized. While I stood in one line, the next line moved along, but mine was stalled. The line should be organized for the next person waiting to be served!!! My friend and I waited and waited and waited ... the point where by the time we got to the poor cashier, we were so impatient and not feeling very satisfied about our CB experience.

Truly S.

Yelp
The customer service was terrible. We ordered our drinks and food. Drinks took about 15 minutes to take to arrive. Our food never came. Another table that came after us got their food before us. we waited about 30 minutes for our food but when we realized they got theirs before us we left. Shitty customer service.

Yelp
Yes yes I know it's a chain but when your traveling the highway and local haunts are hard to come by, it's reassuring to know you can get a good meal here anytime. This particular Cracker Barrel is a regular stop for the fam! Plenty of kitchy stuff and great service are hallmarks. Not disappointed this trip either. Emily was our waitress and she took excellent care of us. One of my fave things is never ending coffee! It just keeps coming! A good thing for folks like me is the lighter fare ports of the menu. You can get a yoghurts parfait with fresh fruit and granola or egg whites with turkey sausage. Lunch and dinner options abound as well. Yep it's a chain but a good friendly place to have on the road with you!

Chad J.

Yelp
Great food at a fair price. I've been a loyal customer for decades and they are always coming up with new menu items so I never get bored of their offerings. Something for everyone so you can't go wrong here!

Yelp
My family was on the road and needed somewhere to stop for lunch. We had done fast food for breakfast and decided a sit-down meal was in order. Good ol' Rocky Top was along the path so we decided to stop at the Cracker Barrel there. Lo and behold the mistake that was (though to be fair, this was somewhat anomalous given past experiences at this location). Firstly, the tables were so uncomfortably, claustrophobically close together that when our food FINALLY came out, the waitress was bumping into the people at the table next to us. Two women were sat at the two-person table on the other side but they got up and sat at another table - I don't blame them, I didn't want to sit that close to them either. Another couple was seated at that table as we were finishing up and they scooted the table away. Second, the service from our server in particular was embarrassingly poor, especially given the quality around us. After sitting at our table for about 10 minutes, we had to ask the waitress cleaning off the table next to us who our waiter or waitress was and she went off to grab them. Shortly after, our waitress comes and tells us she didn't even know this was her table. Okay...? She asks if we're ready to order which we most certainly are and place both the food and drink order so she tells us she'll be right back with our drinks. 10 minutes later we finally get our water and she apologizes saying they handed her a food order to bring out when she went back. And that took 10 minutes? My brother said it best: "all I'm hearing are excuses." Maybe harsh but that became the theme of our meal. Another family had sat down next to us after we ordered and got their food only a few minutes after we got our waters. By the time we had our food they were already done and paying their check. We we're at the restaurant for an hour and they were only there about 30 minutes. We wished we could change servers with the folks next to us since they arrived 10-ish minutes after us, got their food 15 minutes before us, and left 20 minutes before us. Meanwhile, our waitress was AWOL for most of the meal. To her credit, she did come around to fill our waters twice but that hardly seems like a plus when we had to wait 10 minutes and we're on the verge of leaving before she came to introduce herself, ask if we had questions about the menu, and see if we're ready to order. Quick side note: the food was alright as per usual but I ordered the country fried steak to order something different and shake up my pallet but it tasted, felt, and looked like it was just hamburger meat and not an actual steak so I will never be ordering that at another Cracker Barrel again. That's more of a critique on the chain as a whole and not this particular location. To management of the Rocky Top, Tennessee Cracker Barrel, please work on coaching your staff. Our waitress's name was Nichole (if I remember correctly) and I say that NOT because I want her fired (please let her keep her job), but because I think she needs some extra coaching and guidance when it comes to attentiveness, expediency, timeliness, sincerity, and service. I genuinely hope this isn't the standard at which you expect your employees to perform and I'm guessing that's not your quality you desire given the work ethic, diligence, and effectiveness of the waitress for the table next to us. Kudos to her for getting her customers taken care of and on their way. We're on the road which only exacerbated our displeasure with the ineptitude and tardiness at which we received our service. Feedback is a gift, it truly is: do better! (I know you can because we've stopped at this location several times before)

Yelp
Host is RUDE. threw the silverware on the table. Manager is RUDE. Was trying to argue with me over a complaint. Do not recommend this location.

Yelp
Fast, friendly, and they were just what we needed on our long trip. The place was packed, it's in a great location and you might have a wait to be seated. Food is the same as every other Cracker Barrel, excellent comfort food. I recommend the ham. You don't get good ham very often. I recommend singing "Rocky Top" to your server. Teach the kids before you arrive.

Yelp
The worst Cracker Barrel I have ever eaten at. We stood at the hostess station for 10 minutes while a worker guy with a cast on his arm talked to his friend. Then seated the friend. I finally had to ask to put our name in! Then he seated us at a table for two... I said clearly there are 3 of us! My bad.... The waitress forgot the biscuits for the biscuits and gravy. The cashier tried to up sale me on chapstick! Horrible service, mediocre food, and pushy old cashiers. Cracker Barrel needs to rehab this location fast!!

Yelp
This is the third Cracker Barrel we've tried getting into this morning. They've all been packed with wait times of at least 45 min just to get a seat. At one we heard the waitress apologizing to hungry looking people for the food taking so long after having already waited to get seated and order. Is this because the food is so amazing everyone wants to go there? I think it's because they're stuck in a tourist trap area and want something they're familiar with that won't suck. It's been many years since I've actually eaten at a Cracker Barrel and it was kind of so-so. Nice thing about these places is that you do know what to expect; a long wait and everything being consistently mediocre. We went to the next Waffle House we saw instead. While they score a lot lower on atmosphere, we got seated almost immediately; food was decent and very fast. So if you just love that sameness you're use to, this is probably the place you should go. Meanwhile, I'll be two hours down the road ahead of you.

Glenda G.

Yelp
They seldom clean the tables. They are always dirty. I sat an watched people come and go with no cleaning. I arrived and went to the bathroom to get a soapy towel to clean my own table. Next visit was the same way. Gease and crumbs from previous guests. Also now the pancakes are half the size they are supposed to be at this location. Don't cheat me........ I won't be back.

Yelp
To begin with, when I called this restaurant to put in a take-out order, I had to wait over 20 minutes to get anyone to answer the phone. After finally getting through to talk to someone and place my order, I was put on hold for another 3 minutes. After placing my order, I was told that it would be ready in 30 minutes. I got to the restaurant 33 minutes later, went inside to pick up my order, and had to wait another 30 minutes. Finally, once I got my order, the cashier looked at the 2 bags of food containing a Family Meal, she looked at me and said(with no smile on her face either), "Are you going to eat all that food by yourself?". If I hadn't been writhing in pain with my spinal stenosis already I would have gotten the restaurant manager right then and there, but I picked up my order and got the heck out of that place! I will NEVER go to that restaurant again! I caution everyone that goes to this restaurant location to be aware of what might happen to you too.

Yelp
Ordered maple bacon chicken. Chicken was dry and tough had to saw it literally saw it with a knife to cut it. And there was no maple at all to it just a piece of chicken with some cheese and bacon. My order was to go and they completely left off the okra that I had ordered as a side. Used to get good food here but not anymore. Last week I ordered the the Friday fish dinner and my fish look like it had been put in the blender. Bits and pieces half pieces partial pieces you name it all. Look like they were serving a bunch of leftover stuff to get rid of it. If you are traveling through South on I-75 and want to eat at Cracker Barrel go on down to Merchants Drive in Knoxville maybe you will have better luck.

Yelp
The best service I have ever had! We're on a road trip and stopped for something quick and to stretch our legs. The store is clean, and the service is quick. The highlight however, has been our waitress Emily. She is hilarious and has taken beyond excellent care of us. We live 350 miles away but I'd come back specifically for her. Thank you Emily!!!!!

Yelp
This is a good mid-point for me and my family to meet and eat sometimes. I had held off to review until I had the chance to dine a few times. My overall conclusion is that it is great when it isn't busy at all, OK when it is somewhat busy, and not good when it is packed. There is definitely a loss of quality in the food when they are trying to move plates through. Just keep that in mind. My advice? Would recommend if it isn't too crowded. Fav breakfast: french toast Fav dinner: the haddock meal Fav veggies: okra and mashed potatoes Perks: - love the biscuits - waiter service is generally good - wait time for tables is acceptable - rockers outside are nice - decent parking lot size Quirks: - if you are the sit and speak politely type then the volume that it gets at times will be hard for you - shopping area is tight and 3-4 workers always on the move watching everything that moves - restrooms need some updating/replacement...worn

Yelp
Ah, Cracker Barrel. One of my favorite down home restaurants. In my small hometown, CB is one of the only 'nice' places to eat so we'd often go there to dine for celebrations or after outings. I have fond memories of this place. So on a drive back to Louisville from Asheville this past weekend, when my boyfriend suggested we stop there to eat, I immediately shouted YES. We timed it just right, stopping at 11 am on a Sunday and bbbaaareeellyyy missed the after church crowd. We were seated as soon as we walked up to the podium in a nice two-seater table near the window. Nothing beats the view of a TN parking lot, ahh. Cracker Barrel is one place where I rarely deviate from my order. Ever. Not even if I was on fire. Okay, probably then, but it'd be hard to stray. I always get chicken and dumplings, okra and fried apples. I must have been feeling frisky because instead of apples I got the kale and brussel sprout salad. BAM. How 'bout that! Astonishing, I know. The dumplings hit the spot, per usual, the okra was perfectly breaded and fried, and the salad was surprisingly flavorful. It had dried cranberries and pecans in it to give it some crunch, I enjoyed it. Along with the biscuits and jelly, I was stuffed beyond measure after finishing. I waddled out of there for a good price and didn't eat for the rest of the day. Lies, I ate 5 hours later. I'm trying to make myself feel better about gorging. Eh.

Ivorie H.

Yelp
I would leave zero stars if u could. I had black hair in my food and the lead or manager in charge MADE ME DIG THE HAIR OUT OF MY MAC & CHEESE AND SHOW HER! She was rude and told me she couldn't see it after I pulled it out! FOR ONE CUSTOMER IS ALWAYS RIGHT. TWO I HAVE BLONDE HAIR AND HAD TO DIG IT OUT! Our waitress was super sweet and she took it with no question and a red head with glass came out questioning me and said she didn't see it and that is when I dug it out for her and she said she still didn't see it. I think her name was MaryBeth. Worst customer service ever. She then looked at me and said yeah I don't see it and walked off.

Yelp
Went there for my birthday dinner. The only reason it even earns the 1 star is due to the distraction that every Cracker Barrel has, the store. My family was seated at the same time as another group. Both of our groups were seated next to each other. One person in my party decided to substitute one of the sides for a salad. We got our drinks in a decent amount of time, but one of the cups was still dirty, as was one of the utensils (they were replaced, but they shouldn't have been dirty when they left the kitchen). While waiting for our food, the group that was sitting next to us (the one that was seated at the same time we were) had received, eaten, and paid their bill. This was all before we even got our biscuits, cornbread, and the salad. It took about 35 minutes for the waitress to come to our table to tell us that our food will be out soon. At this point, most of my group was also waiting on refills for their drinks because we had nothing else to stop our stomachs from devouring itself. Another group gets seated next to ours and the salad finally comes out for my group, the biscuits and cornbread are still MIA. After another 10 minute wait, our food finally arrives with our missing biscuits, but the cornbread remains MIA. After another 5 minutes, we get the cornbread. Eating our meal, the food is cold and they tried to hide it by packing so much black pepper on the food that it gave off a spicy tingle, as if we wouldn't notice the difference between spicy and hot. I would have given this terrible service the benefit of the doubt if the waitress was one of few serving people, but there were more than enough waitresses on staff for this to never have been an issue. TL;DR: Store is good. Service is terrible.

Yelp
My wife picked this spot for us to eat dinner, and I'll hold it against her forever. This place is not good. Food quality is low, and the service is pretty underwhelming as well. We had their oft-advertised fried chicken. So crunchy I almost lost a tooth. Honestly probably the worst friend chicken I've ever had. The sides were mediocre as well. 15 minutes after we order, the server (an unique kid that told weird stories and told us he hates working here) comes over and tells us the fried chicken is going to be a while, another 15 minutes (why would he have not told us right after he put in our order?). Also, what's with the weird 1920's black and white portraits of random people hanging all around the restaurant - super creepy. This didn't impact my rating, but I would've ended up giving this place a 5 if they would've kicked out or shut up the baby that wouldn't stop crying. Save yourself a disappointment and eat literally anywhere else.

Todd H.

Yelp
I used to really like Cracker Barrel but when you compare this to the other local places in Rocky Top it comes up with a lot to be desired. While they have a larger menu than the dinners in town for just another mile or two you can get food that tastes better with better service. The two times we have tried it the food was just so-so and the service was okay. This last time (and it will likely be my last time) I had the combination plate. The Sugar Ham was dry, the meatloaf was fair and both my wife and I commented that hers is a lot better, and lastly the Chicken in the Chicken and Dumplings seemed to be just added at the last minute and did not have much flavor (like boiled chicken) once you bit into it. If you are in a pinch this would work but go into town and try one of the other places as the food quality is a lot better.

Yelp
We have never been disappointed at Crackerbarrel, it's our go to for homestyle, comfort food, when we arent feeling like cooking

Yelp
The worst cracker barrel ive ever been to. I had a complaint about the staff and the manager would come out to speak with me about the issue.

Yelp
My wife and I stopped for Brunch. I have never had a bad meal here. I have never paid too much. Breakfast sampler. My wife gets a salad and grilled chicken. Ever time

Yelp
Went in to eat tonight and it took an hour for my food on a to go order. The food looked terrible and and when I called to complain the manager refused to get on the phone. Overall the service, the food, and the wait was terrible.

Average Joe ..

Yelp
Look, it's a Cracker Barrel and most of us have been to one at some point in our lives. Cracker Barrel is pretty consistent across the board and this one is no different. You get a Cracker Barrel meal with Friendly service here and it's always a good experience. This location is convenient and Ol' Pa loves him some Cracker Barrel so we go often. Pa, being the french fry whore that he is always gets the fries, cornbread and biscuits, and either fish, chicken, or a burger. If it makes Ol' Pa happy then the rest of us can live with it.

Yelp
Wow!!!!! Eggs and biscuits! A stroll through the country store!! The dilly bar squad will DEFINITELY be back!!!! Also all of the waitresses there are REALLY pretty so ladies get at me and the rest of the Dilly Bar Squad ok??? Please

Yelp
When in the south it seems mandatory to try Cracker Barrel. This is my second visit to this chain restaurant always with the hope of getting some good southern dish. The vegetables are so over cooked every time that it's mush. The entrees are mediocre. I had the fish, it was fresh, but nothing memorable as far as spices or how it was prepped. I'll probably pass on this restaurant next time I'm in the south and look for an authentic hole-in-the-wall type restaurant. However... They do have a good gift shop/store!

Robert G.

Yelp
Cody was our server today. Great job, fast service, friendly and fun. He also did great with a difficult customer. I love that this place is in our home town.

Jazmyn S.

Yelp
Food is frozen food quality at best. I sent mine back. It was actually so bad I skipped dinner. Mashed potatoes were hard and served room temperature. Green beans and carrots were slimy and both tasted like the same room temperature slimy "veggie" I ordered the roast beef which did not look anything like the photo and came with turkey gravy on it. Server was great which is why I'm giving this two stars instead of one. Caution! Drive past! Don't drop 60$ on a family of 4 here.

Yelp
When we travel 2 Tennessee we always stop at Rocky Top Tennessee Cracker Barrel restaurant it is one of the best on I-75 south between Lexington Kentucky and Knoxville they are always busy but the wait is short the service is fast the food is good it's hot the staff is friendly neat well-dressed and courteous I know I said friendly and courteous because they are both I would recommend stopping here it is your typical Cracker Barrel in appearance and food.

Anisah H.

Yelp
Not bad for a Cracker Barrel. I usually have the worst luck with this chain but this location actually gave us great food and the chef knew what he/she was doing. Even the biscuits were as great as my first visit ever to a Cracker Barrel. The cola chocolate cake was moist and so good; refined sugar and all things bad but tastes so good. I had a veggie omlet and the Mr. had scrambled eggs, turkey bacon, and french toast.

Yelp
We stopped here on our way down to Florida. It was not an enjoyable experience. I've never been a fan of Cracker Barrel to begin with, but I'd been sick for a few days and really wanted some comfort food. Plus, we were hungry and it was the first restaurant we found. The service was some of the worst I've ever had. The server didn't check on us once, except to ask us for our order. She was painfully slow in every other way. She stopped to talk to her regulars, to the other servers, whatever--but our table was apparently far out of her way. We were one of her three tables, by the way. We practically had to beg for anything we needed or wanted, the food took forever to come out, and when it did, I realized why I don't like going to Cracker Barrel. I had pancakes with berries on top, and they were mediocre at best. The experience did nothing to convert me back to Cracker Barrel.

Savannah S.

Yelp
Just had the worst experience I've ever had at a restaurant. Our waitress argued with me and my family about a price on the menu for a solid 5 minutes in front of everyone. When she realized that she was wrong she sent a coworker to apologize for us because she was "emotional". Although we asked to speak to a manager about her behavior multiple times, no one ever came by to talk to us. Throughout our meal she was very rude and not helpful at all. Altogether the worst restaurant experience for me so far!

Yelp
Ordered sunny side up eggs and medium rare steak. Got over hard and well done. Service was sparce at best as my pop went unfilled.

Yelp
our waitress tonight was kyra. she was very friendly but hard to hear sometimes. the food was really good and reasonably priced. only problem was the portions. got less than i thought i would. but for a first time experience here, my family and i are satisfied. lemon peppered grilled rainbow trout got a 9.5/10, "as good as fish gets in a restaurant" country fried steak 8/10, gravy wasn't as creamy as its liked, kinda clumpy, but still good. grilled tenderloin chicken gets a 8/10, very yummy and tender as it should be, but portions were small. overall a great place, really recommend.

Yelp
The food here isn't great, but it's pretty good and very consistent. Wait times to be seated are usually pretty reasonable and the staff is usually pretty attentive and quick to get your food to you. The gift shop is always well stocked and has lots of nice items.

Yelp
Best restaurant in lake city! Tony awesome waiter. Store was fun for the kids kept them busy playing checkers.

Sheena B.

Yelp
If you place an order online... expect to wait an hour after pickup time and for items to be missing from the order.
google avatar

Ryan C.

Yelp
Decent store for Cracker Barrel. For some reason this particular one was slow to bring food. As CB go...it's like the rest, just a Tennessee "feel".

John S.

Yelp
Some of the food my family ordered was ok , however I ordered breakfast for lunch and it wasn't anything to call home about. The sausage didn't taste like sausage and was pink looking. Not like under cooked pink either. Gravy and mashed potatoes were bland and had no flavor.

Hannah W.

Yelp
We go to Cracker Barrel often, and this experience wasn't as good as it should have been, although it was handled properly. We were sat at our table and we didn't get our drinks until about 20 mins after we were sat. After we got our drinks we waited for about 30 mins for someone to take our order. We ordered our food, and my mother wanted the special, well, we had waited about 25 mins extra for our waitress to say they do not have the special. The manager came to our table, and gave us our food for free. We never complain about this type of thing, but we were in Cracker Barrel for like an hour and a half, when it normally takes like 30-40 mins. The manager did handle the situation properly by apologizing and such.

Yelp
The crack house is what I miss most about living in Tennessee! They make the best chicken salad sandwich ever!

Yelp
The service was excellent! The food was hot. It was a memorable date night for me and a lady friend. The gift shop was clean and well organized.
