First time coming here. Arrived at 545pm on a Sat and stayed right away on the back patio. The space is pretty large from the front patio, main dining area, bar, and back patio. It was pretty windy tonight but we got to sit at a table with a heater so it was more comfortable.
I ordered the farmer's market salad to start and the fico pizza. Hubby ordered the Carne. The farmer's market salad was strawberry fields today (Kale, mixed greens, strawberry, 3 beet slices, candied pecans, balsamic reduction dressing). It was probably one of the best versions of that salad I've had. The Kale and greens were very fresh, the strawberries were sweet and the candied pecans were perfectly roasted and not overpowering sweet.
The pizzas are bigger than I thought (6 alices)slices, but they are also PACKED with ingredients! No skimping here. The hubby loved the Carne. It had all the delicious grease & oil you would expect to see with all the different meats on the pie. The brick oven style crust was crisp as expected but it also was cooked in such a way that it exceeded his expectations. It's light and flaky, crisp, but also soft and chewy like a baguette. The meat tastes like it's straight from an Italian butcher, and they all complimented each other.
The Fico is unlike anything I've ever had. Do yourself a favor and get it! My comments on the crust are the same. Taking the first bite was insane. The sweetness of the fig, cut with the bitterness of the arugula, and the saltiness of the cheese. It was a dance of flavor in my mouth and I freaking enjoyed every bite. I ordered a side of toasted vegetables just so I could have more vegetables before devouring the rest of the pie! All I can say is I devoured every bite and there were beets in there (I do not like beets!) Whateveragic sauce they roasted them in combined with the fresh cheese was spectacular!
This is definitely the best brick oven pizza we have had and we can't wait to come back and try other items on the menu. I love that the meats, mozzarella and dough are made IN-HOUSE (smoker for the meats and they use the brick oven for almost everything else), and that source ingredients locally!
The server (Kaitlyn) was extremely helpful and friendly, and she checked on us enough but also allowed us to savor the meal. The manager Chris who helped light the heater for us was also friendly and funny, and I appreciate that he took the time to share all about the restaurant. They both made the dining experience pleasant, and we look forward to coming back more often!
