The restaurant is beautiful, feels like you’re at a fancy dining room and not a restaurant. Pancake was amazing, biscuits and gravy looked perfect but I didn’t love the gravy. Son got the burger that was good, husband got the fried chicken and a side of potatoes to be a big enough meal. The poke bowl was ok, but not very filling. Staff was wonderful. Food almost took an hour, literally.

Google
11/10 fries, I almost don't trust how good they are. I don't want to know what they do to them. club sandwich is the reason I gave 4 stars, the tomatillos are just plopped in there whole so it's difficult to eat. sandwich is still very good if you can look past that

Google
We had brunch and it was a lovely experience. The food was served family style. Charcuterie meats and cheeses, fruits and desserts. Everything was very well executed and the service was impeccable.

Walked in with a reservation for Valentine’s Day dinner, our hopes were high because it was $75 per adult and the menu sounded delicious (we were severely disappointed). After calling ahead, we were wrongfully lead to believe that we would simply get everything on the menu they marketed… that was not true. All of the fish items tasted like dirty ocean, especially the oysters. The mahi mahi was slimy. The truffle risotto was hard and lacked flavor. The portions were way too small for the price we paid. Service was fine, still had to wait several minutes by the bar for our server to take us to our table (we had a reservation and there were plenty tables still open). Overall very disappointed, we definitely wasted money on this experience.

Google
After we ordered it took over an hour to get our food. Other tables were just getting up and leaving due to the wait. After we received our food it was ice cold. My burger patty was only half cooked. The wait staff was very avoidant. Other tables were finding grounds in their coffee.

Google
Decided to take a chance on this restaurant for Vday, the food was 4/10 drinks 8/10 desserts 7/10 steak was wayyy too salty, ceaser salad tasted like mayo? And my partners risotto was undercooked and crunchy. Now.. I will say that for a hotel restaurant they are a solid 7/10 but if you’re a regular Portlander or foodie skip with place it’s way overpriced and not worth the hassle. Entire meal for two with drinks was around $300.

Google
Not a ton of places open in this area of Portland on Sunday morning, but luckily CraftPDX was open. The service was great, our server Clark, was fantastic and the food did not disappoint. Great serving sizes to start the day.

Google
I had an early breakfast, first time dining at this place. The customer service was okay. The food was not that good, I had smoked salmon with bagel and no cream cheese and it was literally the bagel and salmon it had too much onion which I really hate, no seasoning, no flavor. My friend had the same thing but with cream cheese and they put a lot of cream cheese. The orange juice isn’t freshly squeezed. Overall the food was 4/10 for me. The only thing I liked was the interior and the fact that they were open that early that’s all.

Yelp
I had breakfast while staying at the hotel. I had the overnight oats and was pleasantly surprised that it was served cold. It was a nice change and the toppings made it feel even healthier. The three egg omelette is probably one of the better omelettes I've had in a while. Normally I put a lot of Tabasco on my eggs, but the omelette had enough flavor to not need the extra bite.

Yelp
We went to dinner here on our last night in Portland for the long weekend, we believe we got food poisoning after eating here, a couple hours after my wife and I got back to our hotel we both became violently ill and started throwing up, we slowly have been recovering but won't be back.

Yelp
Should have known that this hotel joint would not be great and it wasn't. Visited based on reviews and pictures of the menu. Food was overpriced and just bland. I ordered the turkey sausage with my eggs and it was dry with zero flavor.

Yelp
So this was my first time here. Just finished them shamrock run and was in dire need of a beer since the beer garden ran out of everything except for Michelob ultra light. Searched in the area and found this place. It was around noon when we got there on a Sunday. They were serving a brunch menu. My mom got the eggs Benedict and I got the burger. My burger was not cheap it came with fry's or a salad I stuck with the salad. It was great. Fresh and simple and tasty. The burger was really good. Juicy good sauce loved the onions and the bun was great as well. I would come back again if in the area. The only drawback for me is the price. Go check them out

Yelp
Food was really good . Ordered the pancakes and chicken thighs . Service was great . Would def recommend !

Yelp
We were staying in this hotel, and ended up lazier than we expected to go out and get breakfast. So, we ordered breakfast from here and took it back to the room to eat. I got The Craft Omelette and my bf got the Hi-Lo Breakfast. We both enjoyed our breakfast and it filled us up.

Yelp
Came here for my friends birthday dinner and was not disappointed! We both had the salmon and it was so good, although a little pricey for the small portion size. We also ordered this blackberry champagne drink and it was so good!! This place is located in a hotel and it is honestly very small, I think we got lucky that it wasn't crazy busy. The lighting and decorations were very cute though! The service was just okay. Our waiter was nice, but definitely seemed tired. I think he was the only person working the entire restaurant and bar (that's how small this place is!) so I don't blame him at all. Overall, this was a cute little spot. I wish they had more on the menu, but I wasn't upset with the options!

Yelp
Stopped in for breakfast to a visibly empty dining room. The "host" rushed my daughter and I as if we were there to rob the place. Very off putting. Proceeded to inform us there was a half hour wait.( Visibly empty room). This place will never get my business.

Yelp
Egg sandwich was good but kind of plain for $12. You'd have to pay a bit more for more toppings. The worker poured me coffee even though I said no and then charged me for it. Oh well. I wouldn't go back here. I'm sure there are better breakfast places around anyways.

Yelp
A small group of us wandered in here on a whim while looking for a spot to have a late lunch in Portland. It was around 3pm when we arrived, and the menu had already switched over to dinner (lunch was no longer being served). A bit weird, since their website states their lunch hours as Monday to Friday: 11:00am - 4:00pm & Saturday & Sunday: 11:30am - 4:00pm. :-/ Anyway, we all decided to stay and order. I ended up ordering the "WARM GOAT CHEESE SALAD"... which was described on the menu as "Spinach, strawberries, candied pecans, blueberry vinaigrette". Two others ordered the tomato soup with grilled cheese, and the final person of our group ordered the spicy chicken wings. While the food was generally fine (nothing special, but fine), my simple goat cheese salad was $14 for what was basically a bunch of spinach leaves thrown into a large bowl, with maybe 4 or 5 pecans thrown in, an oddly thick vinaigrette, and a breaded ball of goat cheese. The tomato soups with grilled cheese were $16 a piece too, and the spicy chicken wings were $16. (Holy markup, Batman.) It all also came out of the kitchen within just a couple minutes... like, suspiciously quickly. (To the point where it makes me wonder if someone was back there just microwaving things.) The ambience of the restaurant itself is nice, and the service is fine... neither being remarkable or otherwise noteworthy... but fine. A couple of us at the table were a wee bit put off when we'd ask for something to drink or order and the server would say "how about..." to suggest something else because they didn't offer a particular item. It happened multiple times... 2 of the 4 people just gave up on ordering drinks and stayed with water instead. TL;DR It's... fine? Just okay? It was basically a convenient find at the time, but not a place I'd go back to when visiting Portland again. Since it's a restaurant for a hotel anyway, it seems convenience is probably the biggest factor for those eating here.

Victoria A.

Yelp
Super friendly waitress and beautiful dining room:) I liked the music and view out of the window. The drip is coffee is good and the menu is expansive. I got the charcuterie board and it was a perfect meal for a pickle and deli meat lover. I recommend this place! There were no other people at 8am, but the music filled the lack of noise.

Yelp
Craft PDX is a restaurant in the Hi-Lo Hotel in downtown Portland. We ate here to take shelter from the surrounding outdoor food trucks swarming with drug addicts at night. The restaurant was empty when we arrived, and they had wanted to close early for the night. We ended up ordering takeout and eating in the hotel lobby. +Hi-Lo Burger (tillamook cheese, lettuce, tomato, pickles, and house sauce) for $20 - Nothing special. - 3/5 Overall, this place was okay. The food would be fine for a quick bite if staying at the hotel, but if you're visiting Portland, there are many other options to try.

Stephanie O.

Yelp
Decided to pop in for a quick bite before my flight and so glad I picked this spot. It's inside a hotel and not packed so the service was good. I had an iced oatmilk latte which was perfect! I ordered a breakfast burrito which was filling and flavorful. The famous Powells bookstore was nearby so the location was great.

Yelp
Small restaurant that is part of a hotel in Portland. Beer and drink selection was good featuring local selections. The menu was small, but the food was excellent, fresh and they offered a selection for most dietary preferences. I had a cheeseburger and fries that were very tasty, well prepared. Service was good. This is a good place to have a drink and eat, that is low-key, reasonable and easy.
google avatar

Yelp
We were a group of 10 and the only other patrons were at the bar. Food was not hot, the fried chicken was more like jerky, and we had to wait a long time for malt vinegar for the fish and chips. The roasted potatoes were good but very expensive... $9 for 6 bites. Of potato.
google avatar

Heather R.

Yelp
Avocado toast and chickpea fries were great! For a hotel restaurant, this place filled the hunger and thirst. I wanted a few more choices of food, but I think most people can find something to eat.
google avatar

Yelp
If I could give this staff 5+ stars, I would. We had a very welcoming and enjoyable experience. My friend and I needed a fun and easy-going night. Kyrsti and Becca-June were truly amazing and refreshing. They ensured my friend and I had an excellent evening at Craft PDX in the Hi-Lo hotel. It has been a long time since I've had such a great and genuine experience at a restaurant/bar in a city outside my home. A big thank you to this team (including Manny of the Hi-Lo)!!

Yelp
Breakfast review: amazing bacon, great tunes and service. Sadly no brisket hash in the am and just OK breakfast potatoes. It was a challenge for me to find a walkable place open for sit-down breakfast for a morning . I got here just as the doors opened at 6:30am. I came here for the Smokey Brisket Hash on their menu from a picture here but sadly it's not on the breakfast menu anymore. Their menu as of November 2021 was here: https://app.kallpod.com/customer/s/hilo-hotel With the supply chain issues, they are out of a few things. Luckily the staples in the Hi-Lo breakfast were there. Mine came with 2 eggs over easy, bacon, and gluten-free toast. Eggs were cooked right and the toast was solid. The potatoes were pre-seasoned so possibly frozen. But the bacon. The bacon was so good. Crispy but not burnt, and thick sliced. (See my picture) With my coffee (general drip but they do have an espresso machine) I had almond milk. Andrew F. was my server. Great service, friendly, and played video game soundtracks by orchestras on Pandora Bathrooms have a code and there is a gender inclusive/family bathroom (aka gender "neutral"). Next time: I'd come in the morning for bacon and tunes.

Yelp
Really nice bar and seating area. I came by for brunch one day and ordered the smoked salmon bagel. My friend ordered the hi- low breakfast. The bagel was fine but it was quite expensive for what it was. Definitely wouldn't come back but props to the servers for good service.

Yelp
We had the pleasure of enjoying breakfast at Craft PDX before leaving Portland. The service was amazing by Lux (hope I spelled that right) he was very welcoming, very sociable, and easy to have morning conversation with, just a great pleasurable person to have met. The restaurant was very clean and vibrant with glass windows, and very personal for us an amazing butterfly wall. Let me not forget the amazing food we ordered The Lemon Ricotta Pancakes, Pain Perdu, with a side of eggs, bacon, and handmade sausage, which was just so savory and full of flavor, absolutely delicious. Definitely would recommend for breakfast or brunch.

Yelp
We had an awful experience here. Had a reservation for 10am. At 10:50am still no food, even though people who were seated and ordered after us got their food. In addition, they brought out food that was not what we ordered. When we explained our displeasure with the service and started getting up to leave, the manager tried to say the food was coming out right now. We never saw our food at all. We eventually just left. They weren't even apologetic. I would NOT recommend eating at this restaurant!
google avatar

Yelp
We had an awesome Valentine's Dinner here at Craft PDX, the food was amazing and they had two guitarists that played some great music. Would highly recommend checking it out!

Yelp
The food is fresh and creative. The service is friendly and quick. The ambience of the place is perfect for a city bistro.

Yelp
Delicious food and very chill atmosphere! The server was super friendly :) All the flavors mannnnn Very instagramable
google avatar

Wendy A.

Yelp
The food tasted ok. However, it did not match the cost. The service was good and the waiter was nice. The ambiance was great. Overall its a nice restaurant however, the breakfast was not worth it.
google avatar

Yelp
You would think being a restaurant into a hotel everything would be good but not great. Instead, everything here was wonderful! Nice layout. Good service. Very good coffee. Great food! Very fresh and tasty. Highly recommend, especially for early birds like me.
google avatar

Mat W.

Yelp
Excellent spot for drinks and we had the roasted potatoes, smash burger and the hot chicken sandwich. All were excellent. I could eat those potatoes every day.
google avatar

Nick D.

Yelp
Excellent food and service. A little pricey but quality. Fish tasted fresh and my brother said his salad was very fresh too.
google avatar

Shan S.

Yelp
Surprised that there's no room service if you're staying in the hotel. Burger and fried chicken sandwich were mediocre - seemed reheated. Service was surprisingly fast, which further makes me think it was reheated. We like the hotel overall, but we'll probably order delivery next time we want food without having to go out.

Yelp
Staying at The Hoxton a few blocks away and were excited to try something new for lunch. We entered through the hotel lobby and I was a little taken aback at how small the restaurant was. We were the only ones there and sat at the bar. After a few minutes the bartender appeared. I was in the mood for a sweet girly drink as I was celebrating my bday with my hubby. I inquired about girly drink options and her response was short of sarcastic. She said she didn't believe in girly or manly drinks. Her tone of voice was unfriendly but I brushed it off. I then proceeded to ask her what sweet drinks they have and again she sarcastically responded that she didn't make any sweet drinks. I quickly perused the drink menu and settled on a Prosecco-based drink. Lo and behold! It was a girly/sugary drink. We ordered the fried chicken thigh app and the trout sandwich with fries. The food was delicious. The service was quite disappointing and was kind of a mood-killer. Also we saw her take a couple of sneaky shots during our 1.5 lunch.

Amanda P.

Yelp
Access restaurant via HiLo hotel main doors. Receive menus at bar and order there. Choose empty table and wait for drinks and food. Friend ordered $21 6 min egg salad which was disappointing in portion and contents for price. Avoid the unfulfilling rabbit food. Burger and fries was good and tender but nothing special for $27.
google avatar

Steven G.

Yelp
Very cool staff!!! Food was pretty good. Had a chicken Ceasar salad. Chicken tasted good but a little dry. Overall not bad.
google avatar

Les V.

Yelp
Burger was good but on the smaller side. Very limited menu. What is posted on yelp not correct. This is a hotel lobby small sit down bar that has pretty good food.
google avatar

Yelp
Mine was a breakfast experience shortly after opening, being in Eastern time and squeezing in breakfast before heading to the 7:30 appointment some crazy person schedule. I sat anywhere, with lots of options since I opened the place up except for one guy who got there two minutes before me (stupid me, I'll train harder next time). Coffee tasted trendy and I quickly picked the gingerbread pancakes, add a side of eggs to protein-load with a long run looming later in the day. I was pleased with the taste, not overly sweet, and the craisins and nuts added to the ambiance. Minus-1 for non-real syrup, but that takes a special special feat for real maple. Although we are close to Canada, but I digress. They gave me two eggs for only $2 extra, over-easy was actual pretty over-easy-ish instead of basically raw like some places try to pull off. Friendly prompt service made this a place where I'd return when in downtown Portland again.

Yelp
Great little spot that I found on Yelp while vacationing in Portland. I went in for lunch. Had the strawberry salad with salmon and it was delicious. Friendly staff. Definitely recommend it.

John H.

Yelp
Came here on a sleepy Sunday afternoon. Service was a tad slow, but friendly. Got the Hi-Lo Smash with fries and a salad. Food was great.

Jessica D.

Yelp
Awesome brunch spot. We had the French toast and two egg breakfasts, both of which were perfect. The bacon was excellent: actual meat that was cooked to perfection. Eggs were also done exactly as I requested, which doesn't always happen in restaurants. The potatoes were also to die for: crunchy on the outside, yet soft on the inside, accompanied by the right seasoning that didn't require extra salt or pepper. The French toast was also divine: challah bread, evenly browned, topped with fruit. Service was also good. I wish we had a place like this in Boise, but if we did, we would've had to wait an hour or more. We walked right in to this place on a Sunday and sat down, which would've never happened in Boise.

Emma P.

Yelp
Had the burger, service was good, helpful and friendly, restaurant is nicely decorated. My only complaint is the the burger was small for $20, with a small portion of fries. If you're going to charge $20 for a burger, it should be a big, hearty burger.
google avatar

Lily K.

Yelp
FARE -Hummus: delicious, would order again standard the twist: fried pita chips! -Fries: delicious, would order again standard the twist: jojos - half-fry/half-chip texture! -Caesar Salad: delicious, would order again (so can try with romaine, since they were out at the time) standard with chicken the twist: served with arugula! -Stir-Fry with Tofu: delicious, would order again non-standard taste (not typical-Canton style) the twist: served with pho noodles! SERVICE -Credit to the chef for the delicious meal the twist: he sent out a small sample of the arugula for me to see, prior to making the salad! (high-level service) -Big ups to the bartender Peter who provided great service, and really added to the visit! the twist: he has a killer playlist!

Yelp
Food is average if you don't get a burger for lunch. The breakfast food looked pretty solid tho. Not a ton of options. Service is just ok - kinda slow. The lighting is great with big windows.

Brian H.

Yelp
Service was great, drinks were good. Most in our group enjoyed their dinner. The standard chicken sandwich was overcooked on the burnt crisp side. Sent it back and the next was golden brown and juicy.

Yelp
Craft PDX is definitely a great option for breakfast. The food is of high quality, and the restaurant itself is classy and clean. We went on a Saturday morning and it was surprisingly very quiet. Our server was friendly and attentive. It's located within a very nice hotel called the Hi-Lo. There is street parking nearby as well as a parking lot that requires payment across the street. The ambience of the restaurant is pretty basic, nothing exceptional but it is comfortable and well kept. The coffee used currently is Nossa Familia, which is an excellent local coffee roaster. Our server made sure we got refills as quickly as possible. In terms of the breakfast entrees, they were very good but not exceptional. The breakfast burrito was tasty but could use some minor improvements. It could use a little more seasoning. However, I still really enjoyed it! The ingredients were very fresh and pleasing. We also tried the Spinach Eggs Benedict with bacon added. It is a must to add the bacon because the bacon is absolutely delicious! I liked the texture and crispiness of the potatoes, which were good overall, but they could use a bit more seasoning. Although not perfect, we did really enjoy our breakfast here and would recommend it if you are looking for a very good breakfast within a classy hotel.

Hannah N.

Yelp
Very disappointed on this one. I am a local food reviewer and was excited to try craft after seeing its yelp rating as well as seeing it mentioned in another article. The rosemary garlic fries were average joe fries with a couple sprigs of Rosemary on top. We ordered the chicken sandwich as well as the burger. These were school hot lunch status. No joke. The tomatoes on the burger were so old they were colorless and the bun was wet and soggy. The chicken sandwhich we had a hood laugh over- it looked like it came out of a Wendy's bag except we paid over $50 for the meal all together. The only good part was the service. Ambience was fine too

Kate N.

Yelp
We had dinner and breakfast here and LOVED the food! Super delicious. If you're staying at the hotel, it's a must. The only downside (which isn't their fault) is that the street outside is full of bums. This area was hit hard and hasn't fully recovered from covid.
google avatar

Sylvia L.

Yelp
Came here for Portland Dining Month and really enjoyed it. Hubby ordered off menu and got the heirloom tomatoes and burger/fries. I would consider it one of my favorite burgers in Portland. From the Dining Month menu, we started with the mushroom puff pastry, which tasted great but was a little hard to eat. It's a good size for sharing but I think they should serve them bite size with less crust instead of one giant puff pastry. Got the elk and foie gras risotto for the second course, which was really yummy. We're usually too full for dessert but the pot de creme didn't feel too heavy by the end. The restaurant itself is quite interesting. It's located in the lobby of Hi-Lo and is very open concept. People were constantly coming and going at the bar but plenty of sit down diners as well. Definitely give it a try for Dining Month or just for a regular meal.
google avatar

Kandice L.

Yelp
We wandered in for a late-night snack. The bar was open (10pm) and we ate the burger, fries, and mushrooms. (do not skip the mushrooms!!)
google avatar

Ashley Y.

Yelp
We found this place from yelp again for a quick breakfast. It was inside a hotel so a bit hard to find the entrance. The food was not bad and the interior was alright. Service was good. Overall I think it's a good choice of restaurants in old town Portland.

Yelp
Found this place in 5 minutes and it's the best find! So cute inside and has a very great vibe :) Also the food was DELICIOUS

Yelp
Tommy is a gem. A bartender, comedian and great ambassador for the hotel and restaurant. Food was great and the dishes and local things he recommended were spot on. If you are in the area stop by and do yourself a favor and order your drink from Tommy.
