I love leaving good reviews, and especially for black owned businesses! I was looking for something quick and affordable. This surprisingly was only $10 for the lunch special on 11/12/22. I paid an extra $1 for extra sauce, which I did not need at all because it was too Saturated with the extra sauce but I didn’t wanna chance it being dry lol. The food was delicious, and the salmon was even fresh!!! The sauce is spicy so be aware of that. The staff were two girls, one was nice, just maybe under a lot of pressure due to traffic so she was straight faced, but still had manners and greeted. The girl who gave me my food when I came back was super nice and sweet and very welcoming. I’ll definitely be back!

INCREDIBLE food. I ordered the Honey Jerk Chicken Platter, with Crab Macaroni (whoa, this is a no-brainer) and Potato Salad. Order came swiftly. Good portions and very delicious!

Everything was good except the honey curry chicken. I feel like they put a little too much sauce on top of the dish and it masked out all of the honey. Very very spicy dish so I wouldn’t recommend it to anyone who’s expecting an in between. The lemon pepper chicken wings were THE BESTT!!!! Periodtt! Very good and delicious. The crab fries were good too, wish it had just a little more crab meat. The green beans had no flavor really but the overall platter was a 4/5. The place was a bit dusty and dirty, but overall in good condition. They show you all of your food and what you got before purchasing which is also a plus. Would eat here again.

Fish platter was delicious The cashier was very friendly. Their bew place is very large ,decorative and welcoming. Potatoe salad was tasty and the string bean are fresh.

What a nice surprise. Just looking for a place to pick up a quick lunch. Decor is modern chic. The food is fresh and delicious. Call and ask about brunch. They have entertainment on weekends.

The staff seemed to be very friednly. I had 6 order and 5 out of the six we're pleased the tastefully seasoned meal. This place offers a small dinning area.

Firstly I was shocked when the Google menu is not real time menu, prices are doubled for very small portions. The food for us- other than the wings, was inedible. Soaked in sauces & creams that were overpowering. Not for me. Go 2 doors down to Bleu Brook- Food is 10x Better

Ordered a 20 piece, and this is what they included as 2 of my wings, let alone the amount of feathers still on all of the chicken and the lack of sauce. Absolutely Ridiculous! Whoever is cooking on Sunday, needs to be replaced immediately, because this is unacceptable.

All the way from ALABAMA and this place definitely showed Northern Hospitality. Ambiance was amazing and the food and drinks were so good I didn't even get a picture. Service UNMATCHED. This place 10/10

Great food. Good service. I've only had the mini chicken cheesesteaks and max and cheese and potato salad but so far so good. The place looks lovely inside.

Tried crafty soul today for the first time. I ordered thru Uber Eats had the whiting fish platter and the chicken wing platter. The fish was a little salty, chicken was bland, definitely tasted like the oil may needed to be changed. As for the sides, the greens were good, Mac n cheese was cheesy and better looking then the other pics I've viewed on Yelp, the yams were good not overly sweet, the potato salad was ok, needed some relish. Overall I would give them a C+/ B- grade. Sorry I forgot to take pics before we dug in. Will order again to see what other options are like.

I love the hospitality and service here me and my daughter went here in passing and I ordered fish but wasn't to my liking but not bad so I called in talk to the chef and he made sure I would leave with something I did like and I tell you the food was great ..I definitely would go here again and recommend a friend

So you would think after paying almost $70 for three platters that the food would be amazing based off of pictures and it was nothing of the likes sadly. But sometimes food taste better then it looks wrong, I ordered two rib platters with bake mac and greens for one and the second had mac and yams and let me tell you the ribs looked boiled with bbq sauce thrown on top and on both platters the mac was dry like we got the ends but even sometimes the ends is good but not in this case. Oh I forgot at $25 a piece you would expect to have more than two rib flanks in each platter . The third platter was honey jerk wings with mac and yams, first there was no honey bbq sauce on the wings and they were salty and the mac was dry like the previous platters and the yams was somewhat ok. In my opinion this place has fell completely off since moving from the 48th & Lancaster location and since under new management I will no longer order from them and will tell others i know to not order from there!!!!!! Please don't waste your money.

Sometimes you want a good home cooked meal...and you don't feel like cooking it. Lol I had heard about this spot and finally made my way. Ordered the short ribs, cabbage and macaroni and cheese. After confusion of whether or not they had any more ribs, she collected my payment as I awaited my lunch of choice. I get home and now it is time to dine. Ribs - tender, well seasoned and lick your fingers good. Cabbage - just right. Macaroni and Cheese - tasty (don't be stingy on the cheese) Now I can't be too hard on a soul food spot as it is hard for some to remain consistent. On this first visit they hit it out the park. I hope they can do just as well when I visit again. I see you Crafty Soul...you did good

Oh man the food was amazing! Definitely made fresh, the chicken was juicy and crispy and the sides hit. The woman at the counter was very friendly. The decor was very nice, I almost didn't wanna sit in the chairs they were so nice . Would def recommend!

The lightskin man that wear locks need to pay more attention to the quality of food they are giving out to the community and needs to work on his customer service. The food was good on Lancaster ave at the old location. Don't waste your time gas or appetite. Food was horrible, salmon was flavorless but dressed up with peppers to make it look good. Ordered chicken that came "blackened" and tasted even worse than it looked.

Delicious soul - food great prices - friendly service If you're craving some home cooked food then you've come to the right place! The smells when you walk in make your mouth water! Definitely a must if you're looking to have a great dinner!

I'm here for it!!!! I'm loving the whiting, crab Mac and cheese, cabbage, and POTATO SALAD (the best)!! I also had the Salmon bowl which came with shrimp, rice and broccoli; there is a sweet and spicy sauce on this. I thought it was good, but it wasn't my favorite. They do delivery through Grubhub, which I never had an issue with. This spot is in a busy section of town and there is street parking. If you are going in there with an expectation of service with a huge smile, DONT GO, they don't need the bad review. If you want your food made with love and understand the time and preparation it takes to make real soul food, this is ya spot!

My coworker and I ordered delivery from here and the meals were very lack luster. I was fooled again by instagram, looks so good but doesn't taste so good. The only thing great was the fried shrimp. The sides Mac & cheese & green beans are a hard NO. Fried turkey chops so salty they weren't edible and we thought they would be smothered so very dry as well. Potato Salad was over done with sweet relish. Overall the food was a complete miss and I wouldn't not eat from here again.

I know the place gets busy but if you don't have the right attitude, why work in customer service at all? I've literally never received good service at this place. And I've been maybe three times excluding an Uber eats order which was insane. I haven't tried much outside of the crab fries and salmon bowl. The salmon bowl is my go to. It comes with rice and and few glazed shrimp. Crab fries are hit or miss. I've had the honey jerk bowl... but I'm not a jerk fan so, I'll leave that there. The wings were ok But... honestly I'd probably try other things and rate better if the service wasn't so obnoxious. The service being a turn off makes the meals less surprisingly unsatisfactory so unless u just really don't Feel like cooking salmon and don't mind waiting twice as long for the food I would hold off on this place.

This place can be a hit or miss and that's with everything (service and food). Sometimes the service is good and you're in and out. Then there are times you're stuck there waiting after you placed a phone order. The first few times the food was really good. I started eating here after tasting my sister's food. Then after awhile their food fell off to me. It wasn't as good.

Food is very good! Every time I order from them I'm never disappointed. Their food is very satisfying! It's very clean, their delivery is very fast, they have more than 2 delivery ppl, because they are high demand. They are very consistent with their platters. Sometimes I'll order the same platter and get the same exact results.. which is awesome! Keep up the good work crafty soul.. sincerely, continuous customer

Very pleased with the service and accuracy of my order. Didn't want to cook this evening on a Saturday and wanted Soul Food. My cousin referred me to this restaurant and just like he said, "Food was great". I would give this establishment 5 Stars for food and quality of customer service. Would definitely recommend this restaurant to my friends, family, and even a stranger lol

Food was delicious! Well seasoned. Great job Fred. I will definitely be back to taste some more of the great southern style cooking.

I have eaten from here 3 times to date. I have not been to the actual restaurant. The first time I had salmon with rice and collard greens. It was delivered by them. It was a Friday my coworkers and I decided to try this place. The delivery did take a long time, longer than the 45 minutes that was said. I will say it was about 5 orders. The last 2 times I had the same thing, which was the lamb chops with mac & cheese and collard greens. These 2 times my coworker picked the orders up, which was a lot faster than them delivering. It's best to pick up your food on busy days. The food is very tasty. I actually liked the lamb chops better than the salmon. On Fridays (not sure if this is temporary) they run a $10 all platters sale. Now that I've had a chance to read the full menu I'll be trying more things.

Ordered pickup and didn't check the food before I left due to COVID (I have a whole process for handling/transferring takeout during this time). When I got home, I found the most horrific crab cakes I've ever seen in my life. Yes, this photo isn't of sausages or brownies, it's severely burnt crab cakes. They should be ashamed of themselves for serving this to someone. Once they realized they burned them, they should've made them over - I don't care how busy they were. And the sides weren't that great, either. I ended up tossing the whole platter. Needless to say, I won't be ordering from here again.

So the pictures drew me in but I don't think I will be back. My sister and I ordered 2 separate orders at 5:10pm. I got the general tso's salmon, and lemon pepper wings. She at first ordered a honey jerk chicken bowl, was told they were out of them. So she settled for general tso's shrimp and teriyaki wings. We were told our totals and that we would get a call when it was done....a call???Hmm ok. We went across town. Pulled up front...and sat...and sat..and sat....we called to let them know we were out front and were told they were still working on our meals....at 6:29 pm as we were slowly fading away to dust. We got a call to say our food was ready. Praise Him! I went to the door to pay (damn u Covid) and had to give my cards at the door. Was asked if it was together I said no one at a time. The door lady comes back and says oh shoot. I said what, she said I charged both of the meals on one card. She said I will just refund the one. I was like ok cool. Took my food to sis in the car, go back and here comes the door lady saying oh my manager is not here to refund it....by this time I was pissed and hungry so I said whatever and left, Even though the meals were slightly different in price. We get to our hotel. Yes we were in town visiting, and started to eat. Looked great! Looks can be deceiving. So the salmon was excellent. It took me a while to find it, since it was buried in slightly sautéed peppers and onions. If I was home I would have thrown them back in the frying pan for a few minutes. The collards were pretty bland and crunchy. Yup I said crunchy. The macaroni was the worst. It had a weird taste, was dry and salty. Ick. My lemon pepper wings had no lemon taste whatsoever.. just salt and pepper.. My sister got crab macaroni and cheese and she said it was terrible and extremely salty and dry. She said her collards had peppers in it like a chili pepper. Yuck. The teriyaki wings were hard. I was really disappointed because the pictures on the site looked pretty dang good. The card snafu and long wait didn't help. So nah no more visits for me.

The banana pudding cheesecake is awesome! (The best part of my lunch!) The fried whiting sandwich needed salt and was literally 2 large pieces of whiting and two slices of white bread. Nothing between the bread and fish, no sauce or seasoning. The Mac n Cheese was very tasty!

Just moved to the area and the food here is awesome!!! My roommate and I were super happy with our food choices. The jerk chicken was a little spicy but great if you can handle it! Sweet potatoes were AMAZING!

This place is a good option for a quick fix for soul food. I've had take out from here on multiple occasions and each experience has been different... To start, they have diverse menu options and I don't think that there has been one instance where I have called and they haven't had something so I will give them a thumbs up on that. The prices of the entrees are reasonable however, the dessert is over priced BUT very tasty... About the quality of the food - it is good (nothing spectacular) and the food is not greasy, which is another thumbs up for me. Additionally, the presentation and the portion sizes are on point (thumbs up again)... My favorite menu items are the General Tso's Salmon platter and the Fried Turkey Chop platter... Regarding the sides, I've had the Mac and Cheese, potato salad and greens; Mac and Cheese is good, potato salad was delightful but the greens are just OK (there's something about the way that the greens are seasoned that I'm not too crazy about but I LOVE greens so they are a must when I order)... Also, my favorite dessert is the Berry Papi Cake (I think that's what it's called - it's pink, you'll know it when you see it)... Overall, Crafty Soul is worth a try... If you decide to order, call ahead - Wednesday through Saturday wait times can be a little absurd.

I enjoy the food here. I don't eat red meat or poultry but there salmon bowl or general tso salmon is delicious I really enjoy it. Although the wait is a litter longer than I would like the food makes up for it. I would say it's definitely worth the wait.

Update: Dear Crafty Soul, you really broke my heart today. For months after I discovered ya'll in my initial review I ordered solely from you because I love your food. I took a bit of a break recently and had a craving for some soul food today and went to what I thought was a reliable source for some. The crab cakes were full of shells and inedible. The potato salad had way too much vinegar in them and the while extremely tender the meat way under seasoned. I am highly disappointed. Original: Ordered food for the first time through UberEats and it was very good. Had the Whiting platter with Shrimp Mac and cheese and collard greens. Everything was seasoned well but not over seasoned and for $11 the price was very reasonable for the portions provided.

Love this place. The banana pudding cheesecake is bomb but it sells out fast. Great menu, great taste, great service! What more can a person ask for

The food was delicious, and it is black owned. My only problem was that the food takes about 30 to 45 minutes to prepare... Just to let you know, you do need an ID in order to make a purchase with your credit card.

The food is pretty good soul food! The service....terrible! The girl who takes the orders is very rude and does not respect the customers. For that, I would never go again!

We have got deliveries from Crafty Soul a couple of times. We always get the short ribs. They are flavorful and falling off the bone tender. The Mac and cheese is extra cheesy goodness. My daughter loves the yams. I love the potato salad but she thinks it has too many onions. The greens taste like they may be vegan. Cooked with no meat added maybe. The first night it didn't taste as flavorful and savory as soul food greens usually do. The next evening, after the spices marinated a bit it was on point and delicious!! Portion sizes were huge!! Delivery was prompt. We would definitely continue to order from Crafty Soul.

My job orders food from here. It was delicious. I ordered the turkey wings and the BBQ chicken. Both were tasty. The greens were very good to be seasoned without me at Mac and cheese was on point. I didn't like the cabbage as much but still good. Just needed to be cooked down a bit more. All in all a great experience.

Wish I could give 0 stars but you have to give something. I have been craving alfredo and have been disappointed from a few other restaurants, so when I heard their alfredo was good, I had to try it. Welp...I called but they "didn't have" it today. I can understand if they "ran out" towards the end of the day, but lunchtime? No bueno.

My Coworkers Have Been Raving About This Place So I Decided To Try Them Out. I Had The Honey Jerk Chicken Bowl. I Wanted To Try That Because The Flavors Just Sounded So Good Together. Got The Bowl In My Hands And I Was So Disappointed. Let's Start With The Chicken- I Thought It Would Be Sliced Or Chopped Up. WRONG! I Had A Dry Chicken Breast. The Jerk On Top Was Too Hot For Me. I Couldn't Enjoy The Food Because I Was Too Busy Wiping Tears And Blowing My Nose From The Hot Spices. I Loved The Shrimp, Broccoli And Rice But Where Was The Honey Flavor? I Think You Guys Need To Go Back To The Drawling Board On This Dish..

I ordered the fried chicken with the baked mac and cheese it was delicious... the only problem I had it took two and a half hours for me to get my food... so order before you get hungry. My stomach was literally touching my back..

The honey jerk chicken is terrible! Taste like spicy rubber!! Do NOT get it. The rice was very dry but the green beans were okay (way too much garlic for me). I'm not sure about the rest of the menu but I repeat DO NOT get the honey jerk chicken. Ew.

This is my new place to go for soul food. So far I've had the lemon pepper wings, Whiting, cabbage, yams, and chicken broccoli mac. I used to have a strong aversion to mac n cheese with anything added. Craftys changed my mind. Their food is soooo good. The service is excellent.

The food was absolutely delicious. The food was served on time , very hot , and filling. Big portions for the price. Whenever we come from Las Vegas, we will always eat at Crafty Soul!! So delicious!!!!!
