Crazy Johnnie’s Owner Johnnie Schram Dies | Eater New Orleans

"Founded and owned by Johnnie Schram, who died Monday morning at 76 after a long illness, the beloved Crazy Johnnie’s ultimately closed its doors in the summer of 2014. What began as a bar added a very popular steak night in the ’90s and soon became best known for budget-friendly, quality meat — especially cheap steaks and filet mignon po‑boys. After three decades, sharply rising prices for quality cuts of beef forced the restaurant to shutter." - Stephanie Carter

Ericka was the best waitress we could’ve asked for. She was very happy, very professional, very compassionate and very sweet. She took care of every single thing that we needed and was smiling the entire time. She definitely deserves a raise. And I would like to kiss the cooks because the food was amazing thank y’all so much for the great hospitality and the delicious food. We will definitely be returning so Ericka can wait on us again!! Great experience and I absolutely love that you guys didn’t change the recipes at all and the new location looks absolutely amazing. It’s the Perfect atmosphere and the sun hits the windows perfectly. There are also shades on the windows for when the sun is being the sun thank y’all again. We had a great time. Oh don’t mention the filet mignon Poboy, the crazy potatoes, the filet, medallions, and a side salad and a turtle cheesecake and when we ate that cheesecake, it was absolutely amazing thank you guys! Thank you for most Erica. You are amazing.

Google
Crazy Johnnie’s Steakhouse never disappoints! The food is always cooked perfectly — you can tell they use quality cuts and know exactly what they’re doing on the grill. The steaks come out juicy and flavorful every single time. The atmosphere has that classic New Orleans-style charm, and the staff makes you feel like family as soon as you walk in. If you’re looking for a place that still knows what real steak is supposed to taste like, this is it. Great service, great drinks, and worth every penny. Definitely the best steakhouses around!

Google
Top-tier experience alert! I finally made it to @CrazyJohnniesSteakHouse in Metairie and everything was amazing! 👏 The staff were so welcoming! Huge shoutout to the bartender Sam for mixing the incredible Golden Hour signature cocktail (yes, I ordered two!). For dinner, the 8oz Hawaiian Filet and Redfish with potatoes and broccoli were cooked perfectly. But the real star? The signature Bread Pudding. I'm usually not a fan, but guess what—I'm a fan now! It's a must-order. Thank you, Crazy Johnnie's, see you soon!

Google
I never have a bad experience when I come here. The staff is always welcoming and the food slaps. 10/10 highly recommend. Also, you need to come see the owner. Hid name is Tiger and he is the best. Very easy to talk too and down to earth.

Google
Definitely one of the best steakhouses in New Orleans. From the atmosphere to the service to the quality of the food. I’ll definitely be back! So glad Crazy Johnny’s is back. They’ll be hosting my party next month, and I couldn’t be more excited!

Tonight, I had dinner with my family! Hunter was phenomenal with providing services. He engaged my daughter, gave us an overview of the menu, and ensured we had everything we needed! The appetizer and dinner were delicious! We will definitely be returning!

Google
Took my son here for his birthday, the barbecue shrimp better than Manale’s. We actually ordered a second one. We filled up so much on appetizers, were fantastic. entrées were generous, comfortable environment, really great service, us and checked on us. Awesome experience. Great place to watch the game.

I highly recommend crazy Johnny’s on veterans in Metairie

Yelp
A New Orleans classic brought back to life on Veterans Boulevard in Metairie. The restaurant is located where the old Daquiri and Creams used to be. I do recommend a reservation because it was pretty busy on a Saturday evening. We sat at the bar while we waited for our table to be set up. My mother wanted a chocolate martini, and the bartender went above and beyond to make one for her and she loved it. Once we were seated, our waiter was absolutely amazing. He was so friendly and it was nice to meet a fellow local resident and reminisce about the old days. For the appetizers, we had the stuffed artichoke, crab dip, dipping bread, and the crabcakes. My favorites were the stuffed artichoke and the crab dip. For my meal I had the shrimp Sochi which was ok. When I come back I will definitely try the steak.

Yelp
So our wildest dreams came true and we have a new location of Craxy Johnnie's! They have been crazy busy so the service has been about as good as can be expected with such crazy hungry crowds. The ambiance of the new joint just isn't as comfortable as the old spot as it is far more of a modern industrial vibe mixed with the old daquiri bar energy that used to be here. Crazy Johnnie's has some nice filet mignon and prime rib po boys for lunch and always good steaks. They really used to offer a lot of value for what you got but the new location is about market rate these days so it is more expensive. The only big "beef" I have with them is that I would say they have some work to do on their menu items outside the steak and their filet mignon poboy. I tried the burger and it just wasn't very good. I tried the crawfish etouffee and many of the vegetables were raw or undercooked. I tried the gumbo and it was the worst gumbo I've ever had in Louisiana. Most of these issues can likely be attributed to the fact that they have been slammed since their initial recent opening. I think the old advice of waiting about six months to let a restaurant break in is a good suggestion. Now all the steak items are fantastic so you can certainly get those. The crazy potatoes are some very good examples of how to do some tasty things with potatoes. I'm also a big fan of their steak sauce and have been known to even put it on my crazy potatoes. They also offer seafood and other changing options. You generally get good service but not as good as you did at the original. I've been for both lunch and dinner and both have been jam packed so hopefully things normalize over the next few months to give them some breathing room to catch up. Overall I would say for now just get a steak or the filet poboy.

Yelp
So glad to see Crazy Johnnie's finally reopen! We started with the signature dipping bread, then enjoyed the Prime Rib and the Redfish topped with their delicious house-made sauce--everything was full of flavor and cooked just right. The atmosphere is welcoming to all. With seating inside and outside.

Yelp
Great happy hour deals! I'm always on the lookout for a spot with both excellent drinks and tasty food, and this place delivers. A legendary location with a menu full of delicious options...one of our favorites was the Filet Mignon Po' Boy, which was absolutely amazing. Definitely worth checking out!

Yelp
Food was just okay, but the noise level was horrible. No acoustics to blunt the noise. We could hardly wait to finish our meal and leave.

Yelp
I want this place to do well. It has been a long time coming for this restaurant to come back and I don't want to come here and bash them. There does need to be a few little changes so I have some constructive criticism for that. We came here during lunch a couple of months ago. It was not packed. We were handed paper menus with a limited selection to choose from -- which I think is the way to go! I think gradually adding items to the menu as the chef works through the trials/errors is a good approach instead of having a huge, overwhelming menu. Now with that being said, after we ordered our food and had it delivered, the people next to us had ordered a ribeye, which was not on our menu - and what my husband prefers to eat steak-wise. Our menu had the filet on it - which I prefer so I happy at least. I did let the waitress know and although she didn't let us know she was correcting the issue, I did see her talk to the hostess and see the hostess sifting through her stack of paper menus at the podium. Back to the food. We ordered the dipping bread for apps. So, this needs to be worked on for sure. You get 7 pieces of bread for - essentially - a bowl of dip. I am sure the point is to use it as a dip for your sandwich, but it is honestly a waste. Either shrink the bowl of dip or bring more bread. Another idea if is to sell it as a side of sauce for the poboy if that was really the reason behind the giant bowl. The Crazy potatoes are not quite as good as they were in the 90s. But I know yall are working on that. They were still tasty. The poboy was good, but I thought it was odd that the waitress did not ask us how we wanted our steak cooked? I should have asked and maybe the reason is simple - they are all cooked medium for the poboy because it's on a poboy and that's how they did it before or maybe it was to limit added stuff for the chef. I don't know but it wasn't really that bad. I do like the new clean space and some outside seating. The parking lot is on the smaller size, as is the restaurant. There are both ramps and stairs. Also, a somewhat long bar if you wanted drinks, plus TVs. I want this place to succeed! Keep moving forward, we are rooting for you!

Yelp
What can I say? Welcome back! Crazy Johnny's if you've never been before. It's a fresh new experience and if you have it's the same. I've actually come here twice. The first time was just okay. The second time was a drastic improvement I believe since the crowds died down. They were able to focus more on the flavor and a good way. The steak is tender and the potatoes were delicious and I really enjoyed the sandwich. The first time was just okay with that. Second time was the chef's kiss. Nothing will taste the same as it did probably 10 years ago. I don't even remember but it sure is close. The ambiance Is upgrade 100%. It's a very nice modern setting that you can't help but enjoy. I'll definitely give it another. Try to try some other items on the menu and hopefully I can have enough room for dessert this time.

Yelp
Food was great! Service outstanding. Ambiance is phenomenal. Wont be disappointed. Theres nothing more I can add!

Yelp
What a trip back in time but in a modern, updated experience. I hadn't eaten here since the early 2000s and was sad to learn about its demise in 2014. But like many locals I was surprised to hear about a proposed comeback and grand opening so you know I had to go and try it. I went for lunch on Sunday with a limited menu starting with a cup of seafood gumbo, and then the filet mignon sandwich with a side of Crazy Potatoes. Everything was on point with seasonings and flavor. Service and wait time was excellent for a place that just opened so I can only see it getting better as everyone hits their stride. The restaurant is very modern, brightly lit and very clean. Will be back frequently.

Yelp
I was so excited to go here with my family after seeing all the social media hype. The food looked amazing in these local food influencers videos when they went to the opening event. Sadly the food didn't live up to the hype and I won't be going back. The theak poboy I got was really disappointing and that was our reason for going. Hopefully you all have a better experience than me but I have included a side by side picture of the same steak poboy I got vs what was posted on instagram.

Yelp
Last night, I was genuinely excited to return to Crazy Johnnie's in Metairie after hearing it had reopened following a decade-long closure. Over 30 years ago, during my college years, I frequently ate at Crazy Johnnie's and hoped to relive some of those fond memories. Unfortunately, the visit failed to meet expectations. I ordered the filet mignon poboy which comes with a side of their signature "Crazy Potatoes". While the service was friendly and the hostesses welcoming, the food itself was disappointing. As the attached photo shows, the poboy arrived sitting in a pool of butter--so much so that the bread was saturated before I even picked it up. The crazy potatoes, which I remembered fondly, were completely soggy from the butter runoff. What should've been a tasty and nostalgic meal ended up being heavy, greasy, and poorly executed disappointment. I appreciate the effort to bring back a local favorite, but hope they consider reworking their recipes. Right now, it's butter overload.

Yelp
My sever/bartender was absolutely the BEST vibe ever. Mikee you are a rockstar let no one dull that shine you have!!!! Took my husband for birthday dinner tonight and Mikee made it such a great experience, I will go back just for his over the moon personality. Not one soul took the time he did with any customer in the place. He rocks!!!!!

Yelp
First time trying Crazy Johnnie's since the bucktown location closed years ago. Stop in during happy hour to try it out, as I have heard not so great things. Ordered the Crab Au-Gratin and filet. Glad I went during happy hour and saved some money due to everything being absolutely terrible. Food lacked any flavor whatsoever. Garlic on the filet didnt taste like garlic, meat didnt cut like butter, the char marks were the only thing which gave the steak flavor. The crab dip tasted like it came out of a can, hell even the sweet tea was bad.

Dena C.

Yelp
Excellent! Just like I remembered it. My husband and I used to go to on Friday after work. Was always our go to place. It was just as remembered. Perfectly cooked to order, timely, friendly environment, service was fantastic, everything was clean, drinks were great, and it was decorated with festive Halloween decorations. And of course, the crazy potatoes didn't disappoint. My 9 y/o son (my date) gave his stamp of approval and asked if we could go back next weekend!!!! What a win! We'll back back for sure!

Yelp
Food and service was amazing.. great atmosphere, everyone was so nice will come back again
google avatar

Robert C.

Yelp
Service was great!!! Drinks were really good and the desert was delicious! Even the started, the bread and ju alone with the crab dip was really good... However... Sad to say the fish, was cooked to look nice but blah. And the steak... oh no. Not what you want from a steak house. And we had the filet. Just not what we expected from the steak house of 20 years ago.
google avatar

Andrew U.

Yelp
Service was good. Chairs were rock hard. Dippin bread was awful, spicy and greasy, $8 for half a loaf of French bread (do not order). Ordered medium well steak, came very well. Other guest ordered medium burger was well burned. Not even close. 3 guests food wasn't as expected $120 with tip. Save your money. I know it's been a while, used to be $8.95 steak and potatoes.

Z D.

Yelp
$132 for possibly the worst food in New Orleans. Service was good and pretty decent ambiance. But honestly the food was just terrible. Steak: bland, appetizers: gross, and sides were unseasoned.
google avatar

Wayne B.

Yelp
Awesome food and service, just as I remember from their Fat City location. The GARLIC!
google avatar

Bruce N.

Yelp
My first trip in 20 years or so..The filet sandwich was good and the crazy potatoes still good too. Wifes prime rib was very fatty and disappointing at $38..We had the dipping bread which was great. Penut butter pie dessert was excellent. At $115 for 2 - I would probably go to Ruths or another steakhouse..It was ok, good memories at the old place..

Supa F.

Yelp
Order medium rare and it came medium well they took it away and brought me this. To me this looks medium to medium well with no char. Do not come here if you are looking for a great steak experience. I am very lenient on restaurants but this is unacceptable. I never put restaurants on blast, this is the 1st time.
google avatar

Frank F.

Yelp
So I went and tried this yesterday. The flavor of the steak was so so. I ordered it medium some of it was over cooked and some was more rare. The side of crazy potatoes is extremely small especially considering the price and quality of the filet. Overall I do not feel the need to return. Much better values out there.

Yelp
As soon as we found out the new location was open, we headed to dinner. The first time, food and service were amazing!!! While eating I watched the bartender work the room. I then decided we would eat at the bar next time! So last night I got to meet Mikey and he is the most amazing host! Because of him, we ended up staying a lot longer than planned! Ambiance is amazing as well, they really did a great job at this new location! Everyone is so nice!!!!! Everyone is so very attentive! And believe me, this is a great spot for cocktails!!!!!!! Damn, I was having so much fun talking to Mikey, I forgot to take food pics; next time!!!!

C C.

Yelp
I tried to eat lunch for the first time. I was really looking forward to it. I was seated immediately, the dining room tables were about 1/2 full. I waited over 10 minutes and the server never asked me what I would like. She took care of all of the tables around me though. I did not get served, I informed the Hostess who apologized and I informed the Kitchen Manager who also apologized. Also, the parking lot only has one handicapped spot. The American Disability Act 2010 standard requires two handicapped spots for 26 to 50 parking spots. It is the furthest spot from the entrance. The side door for the handicap ramp was locked. Per the American Disabilities Act; Parking spaces must be located on the shortest accessible route to the accessible entrance. If you keep the door locked , the spot is no longer the shortest route to the accessible entrance. Although I would have preferred to have eaten lunch here, Outback Steakhouse did a fine job.

Yelp
My family and I had dinner at Crazy Johnnie's this past Saturday for my son's burthday. It was a wonderful experience! Everything was excellent. The food, drinks, and service were all great. Our steaks were cooked to perfection, just the way we ordered them. The potatoes and string beans were wonderful. And dessert was definitely to die for ! We met one of the owners and the manager as we were leaving, and told them how pleased we were with the entire experience. Both of them were extremely down to earth and so friendly. My review wouldn't be complete without also mentioning our waiter, JuJu. The best ever! Hope you'll be lucky enough to be seated in his area! If you're looking for a great place to go to dinner, do not hesitate to go to Crazy Johnnie's ! you won't be sorry !

Cera B.

Yelp
I recently dined at Crazy Johnnie's with high expectations. Unfortunately, the experience was underwhelming. From the moment we arrived, the experience got off on the wrong foot. We waited at the entrance for several minutes without to be acknowledged -- no greeting, no host, no eye contact. Once at the table, it was more of the same: one menu was put on our table. After a few minutes our server came to introduce himself and took a drink order. When the first appetizer (shrimp remoulade) arrived, we realized we didn't have plates -- which meant awkwardly sharing or waiting for someone to bring what should have been there from the start. The second appetizer was brought out (BBQ Shrimp) which is when we asked for plates. Our server simply stated "Let me go see if we have any" WHAT? A bowl was brought back to the table. My filet arrived being ordered medium-rare, but I could see that it was not a good cut. It was unevenly cut, with visible connective tissue and gristle running through it. The seasoning was minimal to nonexistent, which only highlighted the blandness of the meat. The exterior lacked the proper sear you'd expect from a high-temperature grill or pan, leaving it oddly pale and devoid of the rich, caramelized crust that gives filet its signature flavor. Our server was very polite, and I think he could see were less than thrilled with our meal. Every restaurant can have an off day, but basic service -- a greeting, a menu, proper table settings -- shouldn't be negotiable. Would I return? No, pretty positive it is a one and done.

Sherry P.

Yelp
I had to come in and bring my son to eat at one the Best Steakhouse's in the whole Greater New Orleans area! Everything was just as good as I remembered! And since I used to work there back in the day it brought back such wonderful memories! You have to get the Filet Mignon with Crazy potatoes and green beans! And don't forget to get some of dat Dippin Bread! Our server was Payton and he was on point with his service.

Jon D.

Yelp
I came into this place recently and I had a server named Hunter who told us about the happy hour menu and recommended the filet medallions which were excellent. I absolutely would come back, amazing environment and exceptional service. The food was 9/10 which is high for me as well. Keep it up Crazy Johnnies!

Sierra N.

Yelp
We had a great experience today at crazy Johnnie's... Everything was superb from the service and atmosphere to the food... I highly recommend Crazy Johnnie's Metairie...!
google avatar

Brian F.

Yelp
Came into crazy Johnny's today. First time experience for me a friend of mine said it was always great, so we sit down. A waitress noticed that we had not been helped yet after about 10 minutes. Not too terribly bad since they were very busy. She goes over and gets the waiter that was taken care of our table. Order a few drinks not bad then the waiter comes back and says how can I help you baby! I know some people are woke, but that's not the place to throw your wokeess. I'm obviously not a woman nor was my son if it wasn't for the fact that I had a medical procedure done today and was under anesthesia just an hour and a half before I probably would've just got up and walked out. No questions. Ask. I was tired and hadn't eaten in the last 48 hours so I wasn't going anywhere just had to keep putting up with this guy calling me, baby and sweetheart ! Do not appreciate that at all. Just so everyone knows what you doing in the bedroom is none of my business. Keep your baby and sweetheart to your family or your whatever. Management needs to do a better job in reviewing how their waiters and waitresses interact with the public. Even though the food was good, not great but good and the restaurant at a nice ambience I'll give the food four out of 10. I'll give the ambience a nine out of 10 and I'll give the waiter a one out of 10. Crazy journeys hope you do a better job.

Yelp
We went here based on nostalgia for the original and long closed restaurant in Fat City. But, this was spectacular. Great food, great sauce, terrific service from Marcy, and just a wonderful overall experience. We'll definitely be back.

Amy M.

Yelp
The food was EXACTLY like we remembered from the original restaurant. The filet, the mashed potatoes, the sauce! And the dipping sauce with bread! Still just as delicious as it was years ago! The service was great and the owner even stopped to chat with us! Thanks for bringing this institution back! Hi Tiger!
google avatar

Paul L.

Yelp
Food was good, though my wife had to send back her filet mignon for additional cooking. However the noise level was extreme to the point of being tortuous. We will not go back.
google avatar

Yelp
The filet was good. 5 out of 5. Our server was nice as well. Good music playing in the background. Will def be back
google avatar

Harris C.

Yelp
BEWARE! They charge you 4% to accept your credit debt card. It's not posted on the menu or anywhere else within the restaurant which is required. The maximum allowed by the card brand associations is 3% and no surcharge on debit cards. Our server was great

Thaer R.

Yelp
The food was delicious, the staff were friendly and accommodating, and the atmosphere was nice!
google avatar

Judy C.

Yelp
The prime rib was tender and delicious. The meal was reasonably priced. I was a regular customer at he was old restaurant and this experience did not disappoint.

Lesley R.

Yelp
Mickey was amazing, fun and very attentive. Dinners in Metairie can boring but he was the life of the party an excellent server.

Lyle W.

Yelp
From the friendly enthusiastic welcome at the door, I knew we were in the right place for us! Our server, Mikey, clearly is a professional. Engaging and efficient, he seemed when my husband had only 33% of his Coke left,, quickly dropped in with a fresh, full one. He asked if I wanted more iced tea, because he said, you don't presume that you should pour more tea, in case they had "just the right balance of flavors". Who does that?! A pro! Food was every bit as exciting as when it was back in Fat City! Looking forward to my next visit!

Dean C.

Yelp
I hate to say it but this place is horrible. The staff are friendly but there is zero ambiance, hard wooden chairs, and the food is a 1 star. We ordered the filet sandwich and had to send it back. It was like shoe leather. I ordered the prime rib dinner. It was a small sad piece of meat with half of it fat. It wasn't even prime rib. It was more like a bad NY steak. I got the potatoes and ordered a side of fries which were cold and apparently frozen fries warmed in an oven. The took back the terrible sandwich and brought out a bread pudding to try to make up for it. It was so hard and overly sweet it wasn't edible. I will say the staff was kind, Apologetic and amazing.

Scott P.

Yelp
While the food service was a bit slow, it was a lot like the old place. The food was great. They've kept the prices reasonable. Bartender was attentive.
google avatar

Rex H.

Yelp
There are too many hard surfaces, so it's pretty loud. The air conditioning system is poorly designed and blows right at the tables in the middle. Service was fine, average. The Shrimp Sochi was a bit overcooked and really wasn't very good. The little paper menu doesn't explain the options at all. The website said the Shrimp Sochi was served with wild rice and it was overcooked white rice. Not a great experience. The person I was with ordered the filet which was pretty small and overseared and did not have a good flavor. The garlic mashed potatoes were good. The gumbo was a large portion for a cup and was pretty average.

Cassie J.

Yelp
Went on opening day. The burger had no seasoning and was 1/3 the size of the bun. Ordered it well done- had to send it back to be cooked more, and it was still raw when it came out the second time. Husband had to drown it in steak sauce to make it edible. Filet Mignon had no seasoning, felt like mush, and had no sear whatsoever. Seemed like there was a lot of steak though. Only seasoning was some greasy garlic butter on an untoasted French roll. Only giving 2 stars because the staff were friendly, the steak sauce was good, and the crazy potatoes were great, although they were definitely skimping on portions there. I know it was opening day, but I was so shocked at how bad it all was.

Wayne R.

Yelp
I started going to Crazy Johnnies in the 80's when it was in Fat City. They started the restaurant on a barbeque pit with filets and signature potatoes for a cost of $6. Back then it was a bar serving food late at night. They were not known as an eating place till late 80's. I was thrilled to know they reopened and couldn't wait to order what I thought was the most tender filet I've ever eaten. The steak required very little chewing and would melt in your mouth! When I went to the location in Harahan it was small, crowed, people were packed in. Tables and chairs were extremely close with no privacy. No atmosphere. We had to stand up and wait will a table became available. After 15-20 minutes we left and went to the location on Veterans Blvd. Arriving at this location we went to bar to wait for a table. There were no stools available, had to order between customers that were not eating there. I ordered a Sprite and a VO/Seagrams 7 with Sprite. They told me they didn't have any of these brands of Canadian whiskey. So I had to order Crown Royal & Sprite. Waiter came to get us for our table. Table was the last one in the rear right under a strong air condition vent. When another table was vacated we got up and moved. So feeling a little better it was time for the menu and a price shock. I know everything cost more but it was still a price shock. The steak I ordered was the same size as in the 90's except it was $38. My date ordered prime rib. My steak was almost uneatable. Gristle had to be cut out for each bite, it was difficult to swallow. My dates prime rib was bleeding and they brought it back to kitchen and cooked it more. The prime rib came back burnt on all the outside edges. I was told I took to many bites trying to eat my steak and nothing could be done. Told waiter to ask for manager. He explained where they got the meat and so on, that it was prime. He said it was up to the waiter and what she was willing to do about it. I asked him if he was the manager and it was his job to try and make it better. He took the receipt and said that he would look at it. I ordered another Sprite for my date and another cocktail for myself. The bill was returned and the $38 steak was removed. They charged us $10 for two Sprites and $30 for my two drinks! I asked the waiter about the Sprites and one of them was also removed. I have no gripes about the waiter, she was very friendly, accommodating and professional. Overall, poor atmosphere, bar lacking major liquors, no ambiance, just fill the seats and bring out food as soon as possible, then move these people out and fill the table again, more like a busy diner at lunch time. My tab after removing the $38 steak was about $65. I may not go back anytime soon till they get there act together along with the kitchen and bar. I was so thrilled about going back after 25 - 40 years and was so disappointed. For another $45 I could have gone to Ruth Chris.

Yelp
Everything was excellent from the vibes, atmosphere, service and food. I ordered the Filet mignon and it was bursting with flavor and was cooked a perfect Medium Rare. The Crazy Potatoes were smooth, and were a perfect match-up for that steak. For desert, I went ahead and tried the Bread pudding and it was just like childhood bread pudding. It was warm, soft, and had a very smooth caramel sauce. Overall Crazy Johnny´s is doing its thing and I will definitely be returning.

Yelp
Can't make reservations so, naturally there is a wait. Got seated fifteen minutes later, another fifteen before a waiter took out, and at least forty-five more minutes before our food was served! This is NEVER acceptable! Steak was very good, with a nice sear and moist center. Their so-called famous crazy potatoes are meh, and the string beans a bit too sweet. No real appetizers to speak of, and prices are way too high for a restaurant where people wear shorts to. I'm sticking with SaltGrass! Great meal and great service--all for a great price!

Yelp
Not consistent. I got the same menu item each time. The first time I went I got the steak sandwich with green beans, crazy potatoes and cinnamon apple slice. Meal was perfect. Second time I went I got the same meal, except no cinnamon apple slice and the steak was mostly raw, full of grizzle and fat (which a filet does not have) and it was drowned in that sauce. ). Meal was gross and most of it was thrown away. Yesterday was my third visit-same meal, this time no green beans. Asked for well done. The meal came out smoking, which tells me it was microwaved. The meat was gray, crazy potatoes were good. Staff was nice and courteous each time and restaurant side lacks ambience. Needs some tvs or music or both.

Yelp
With great anticipation, my brother and I went to a old time favorite restaurant. Unfortunately things turned bad quickly. We both ordered the Prime Rib dinner, and the disappointment began. The waitress had told us how good they were, which excited our taste buds. When she served us they look great, but looks can be deceiving. While mine was good, my brothers consisted of nothing but fat. When we told our waitress of this, she went to the chef, she came back and offered a bread pudding, which we declined. The lack of concerned for a customer was glaring. Then on top of that we paid with cash which took over 20 minutes to receive our change. Was told they did not have change. To sum up, we where disappointed with not only the quality of the food, but the entire experience. If you are thinking about dining here run do not walk.

Yelp
I was really excited to come back here since I used to frequent this place often. Unfortunately, I left disappointed. It was a Saints Sunday, so I understand the noise level with the game on was going to be high--but it was almost unbearably loud, and even some of the staff were more focused on watching the game than on their tables. We started with the BBQ Shrimp appetizer, which was just as tasty as I remembered--delicious! However, the bread served with it wasn't warm, which took away from the experience. Service was another letdown. Despite having more employees than guests in the restaurant. For my entree, I ordered the filet with crazy potatoes, which was very good, but the menu said it came with string beans. Instead, it was served with barely warmed broccoli. When I asked, I was told the menu was changing and they no longer had string beans. For a $37 filet, I would have appreciated the waiter letting me know about the substitution before I ordered. Overall, the food itself was solid in parts, but the lack of communication, service, and atmosphere left me disappointed compared to the great experiences I used to have here.
