"Few Athens icons loom as large as Creature Comforts, a downtown brewery that’s featured in about 50% of Classic City-themed souvenirs. They even earn a cameo as Thor’s go-to drink in Avengers: Endgame. God of Thunder endorsement aside, this place is famous for a reason: the beer is damn delicious. Cult classics like the Tropicalia (a fruity must-try for craft beer fans) sell out fast, but the taproom is known for running audibles, so it’s always worth tasting any seasonal brews on draft. And with massive indoor and outdoor screens, the brewery is also a great place to watch the UGA games. "Crave Curiosity at Creature Comforts Brewery No longer content with the dive bars and fraternity hangouts, Creature Comforts Brewery was opened in 2014 in a refurbished tire warehouse. The brewery has become a popular spot with students and townies alike for their unique brews, including the sour Athena and strong Tropicalia. It's also the best place to try their seasonal and special batches, like Koko Buni. Creature Comforts hosts weekly farmers markets in their parking lot, as well as local events. The tasting room and tours are open Tuesday to Friday from 5 to 8 pm and on Saturdays from 1 to 4 pm. Grab a table and some friends and spend the afternoon people watching on West Hancock."
"A prominent Southern craft-brewery based in Athens, Georgia, is expanding to the West Coast with a large new facility planned for a mixed-use development in the heart of Downtown Los Angeles, slated to open in summer 2021. The project will partner with Hollywood writer-director Joe Russo, and at least one partner is relocating to Los Angeles to help facilitate the launch. Owners cited Los Angeles’s sizable craft-beer community, the success of many independent small breweries, and California’s brewery-friendly laws as reasons for choosing the city; no definitive timetable beyond the planned summer 2021 opening has been released, and more details on the facility's size and scope are expected." - Farley Elliott
"There are plenty of reasons to visit Creature Comforts Brewing Co. in downtown Athens. First, beer aficionados will likely know it for its Tropicália IPA, which has had a cult following since it was released in 2014. Secondly, you can’t miss the massive brewery and tasting room, built into a refurbished Chevy dealership and auto shop, built in the 1940s. The founders kept everything they could from the old building, including garage doors that create an indoor/outdoor bar and tasting room, exposed beams, concrete floors, and reclaimed wood (after which they named one of their signature beers, Reclaimed Rye).
