This may be an example of having higher hopes than I should. Unfortunately, my experience at Creme was a MAD TV episode of "Lowered Expectations." Cons: Food underwhelmed me. I kept telling the people in my eating party that I couldn't eat & talk at the same time (which is true), but in fact I just wasn't feeling my plate. The "fat fries" were soggy (although I specifically asked they be crispy) and under flavored, and unfortunately the catfish po' boy was too. I'm not a fan of wasting food, and I ended up giving half of my po' boy away. Service did not seem prepared for a large party, and we won't even start with the manager and the "Cake Cutting Controversy." Let's just say he had some well dressed and well behaved women almost want to "come out of pocket" on his behind. True story. Pros: Located on U-Street so it's very accessible to entertainment. Although the servers didn't seem prepared for serving a large party, a friend did note Creme was able to accommodate us for a reservation, even though some other establishments weren't able to (due to our party size). So to be fair, they get a nod for that.
