"Rémy Couture’s super-dense, cake-like doughnuts are so massive they’re propped up on spindles. Each doughnut starts with a fluffy-moist cake base that’s hand-dipped in glazes like chocolate, caramel, and pistachio, only to be rolled in a crumbly topping. Keep an eye out for the (always delicious) flavour of the month." - Daniel Bromberg, Ian Harrison, Rose Maura Lorre

"What better way to end a meal than with fried dough? Plus, Rémy Couture’s doughnuts reign supreme on the list of Montreal pastries. Contestants for the city’s doughnut hall of fame are the bacon and bourbon, cheesecake, and Homer Simpson varieties. A DIY box is available for takeout." - Camille Cardin Goyer

Google
This donut shop is so cute and colorful. They offer everything you need of donuts many different flavors. Also they have cakes and cookies. In a cute small corner of the shop we found a mini grocery store and marketing bags.... Unfortunately they don't have ice cream! The employee was nice and helpful also friendly. Will come back soon!

Google
They LOOK good to take pictures but the taste was nahh👎 I'm a big fan and very serious about donuts. I've heard a lot about their donuts and the high Google ratings made me expect a lot. They LOOK good with full of toppings and creams inside but it's only for postings. Seriously there was at least more than one problem with each flavor. The dough was too dry(carrot cake), not much flavor(pistachio, rum and bacon) or the taste of the cream was not balanced enough(lime : too much butter in the cream). The best one was their monthly special one and it was vegan HAHAHA You guys can do much better. But I was disappointed about everything(the dough and cream)...wouldn't go back for it. Yet the workers were nice.

Google
A humongous disappointment. I'm not sure why they're on the top list of best donuts in Montréal as their "donuts" aren't real donuts. They're more bread :/ maybe they have paid to be on the top spot? Lol. the flavors were good and the creams weren't overtly sweet but the dough is just too dense and dry to be called a Donut. We ended up not eating half of the bread slash donut 😂

The guy working there this morning was not friendly at all. He seemed like he hated Americans. The croissants that others got were really great so if you want a croissant, this might be a good place. The pistachio pastery I got with jelly inside was gross. The inside tasted like soggy bread. Cute place though. Will never return.

Been on my wanting to go list for over a year. I made the move. The place was impeccable with a welcoming cashier who i had a lot of laughs with. I took the chocolate donut and its not your average 0.99$ donut. My only regret was not taking a box of them. I highly recommend.

Google
Probably one of our favorite doughnut place in town; they have an amazing selection, their doughnuts are quite fresh with very good flavour/filling/dough combination, the sizes are also larger than the average. Definitely a recommended place to try for doughnut lovers!

Visit: October 24, I walked a hour and 40 minutes for these donuts and I’ll do it again. Great friendly staff, the most efficient, quickest take out I’ve ever had. Love love this donut I should have brought a dozen, and I will when I go back. So worth the price for the size of the donut.

I tried a vegan vanilla and cookie donut. I didn't know it was vegan, the employee informed me. It was amazing! I was surprised by the moist texture. Some vegan products have difficulties with moist. And the flavour was so good ^^ can't wait to try the other flavours! They had a lot of interesting one. One was even called Homer Simpson!

Yelp
Not your typical donut. Not airy, light dough but quite dense and bread-y, almost a cake feel. Basically the answer to the question :"What would a bagel taste like with icing?". Most flavours are topped with oats, which distracts from both the intended taste and texture but the base flavours are pretty decent. Unfortunately however, the prominent taste to all the ones we tried is the same : Bread. Not fried dough. Just bread. And they don't come cheap at 20$ for a box of 6 and 39$ for 12. (that 1$ savings makes a difference). Furthermore we ate most of them the same day but possibly due to the high density, they tasted stale. Either they are not made the same day as advertised or their freshness fades very quickly. We figure there's a good reason for the suggestion on the box to warm up before eating... And lastly, we ordered in advance to ensure (we were told) that we would get the flavours we wanted and for some reason they still did not have the keylime pie donut and took it upon themselves to replace it with a second Boston cream. They also replaced the unavailable previous monthly donut with the new one ( we ordered September 30 and picked up October 1st - makes sense) without asking us what we would like to replace it with or if we had allergies (which we do), or if we just plain don't like Pumpkin Chaï (which we don't). Speaking of allergies - make sure to ask beforehand as there are no details about ingredients on the website. We would've liked to give @cremy.patisserie the benefit of the doubt for this misunderstanding especially since they are so highly rated but we did not receive a call back for explanation as requested.

Yelp
We finally made it to the actual bakery!! The donut display was mouth-watering - the pastries were huge, with chunky, fancy toppings. We decided to go for a box of 6 despite the girl's warning that the donuts are best eaten on the day of purchase. We got the Boston, the Cheese-cake, the Boston Pistachio Cherry, the Bourbon Bacon, Chocolate and the Apple and Spices, along with a chocolate chip cookie. We sat on the bench right outside to taste them. That's when I realized it would probably be better to come earlier in the day, as the donuts were getting a tad dry. The ones that had less icing (Cheese-cake, Chocolate, Boston Pistachio Cherry) had lost some moisture and were very doughy. But the Apple and Spices, which was fully glazed, retained its wonderful consistency. The Bourbon Bacon was more bacon than bourbon, but overall flavor was quite nice. The Boston was a bit underfilled (there was an empty pocket), but the custard itself was very good. The chocolate chip cookie was ok. I appreciated that the donuts were not overly sweet. However, given the thickness of the donuts, some of them (e.g. Cheese-cake, Chocolate) could have benefited from a bit more icing).

Yelp
Pretty solid donuts. Decent selection and quality of a mid/upper-end bakery. We went with the caramel, vanilla biscuit, and chocolate donuts - persinal favorite was the caramel. Each one was nice, where the donut itself was more like bread but got it's sweetness from the toppings making it more of a fancy bakery treat rather than an overly sweet pastry or dessert. Solid cafe selections, good service, and quaint atmosphere for a nice stop on a stroll through the area.

Yelp
This review is for one donut alone that you must try! The "8" shaped pistachio donut! It's super moist and flavorful ! You will not regret it. We tried a couple other things but that was the only thing that stood out. Delicious! Disclaimer: I should also add that we tried the same donut at the food truck during the YUL eats event and it did not taste the same, could be because it wasn't as fresh but just fyi

Yelp
This doughnut shop also offers tarts, pastries, some good lunch time portions like pizza and more importantly, some really good espresso coffee! On my last visit, I left with my staple latte but decided to try the maple torsade doughnut. The doughnuts here are huge and come in creative flavours but they also happen to start at 4$ each. I figured the simple torsade was a great way to go but quickly realized that although it was perfectly balanced in term of sweetness against the slightly savoury dough, the doughnut was way too oily for my taste. I mean dripping oil with every bite. I'll stick to the coffee for now, cause I swear their coffee is worth the trip alone.

Yelp
A small cozy place the ladies there were sweet i tried a variety of donuts most of them were too dough-y for me . 1- Chocolate donut: 0/10 2- strawberry jam: was nice and the jam is fresh 6/10 3-simpson's donut:0/10 4- cheesecake : 7/10 the cream cheese made it taste very unique 5- Citron flavor: too sweet and sugary but the taste of citron gave it a yummy twist 8/10 6- Maple flavor: too sweet and sugary but tastes good 8/10 All the donuts were fresh !

Yelp
Good tasting doughnuts with original flavours and nice presentation but execution is somewhat lacking. The Homer Simpson (I have tried it on 2 occasions) has a great taste but it is way too dense and heavy for a doughnut. Same problem with the "ah caramel" cakes... looks and tastes ok, but the cake is super dense when it should be light and airy. The lemon doughnut and the maple one are also very delicious but oily to the point where you feel a small splash of oil in your mouth with every bite. Breads, both specialty and ordinary, are surprisingly wonderful. Coffee is very good. Service is friendly.

Yelp
Location: Far. Well, if you walk from St. Laurent, it's far. I was doing the street art thing this morning and somehow ended up all the way east. I don't know what the nearest subway is, but street parking is available (metered) and I reckon you might find free parking on some of the side streets. The place: It's not really a sit-down place but they do have some counter-style seating. It's very clean. The goods: I think most people come here for the sweets, though I did notice some pretty delicious-looking pizza for sale as well. Personally, I was mesmerized by the smallish display of doughnuts and pastries. I initially intended to try a doughnut because I've heard about these from different people, but they were HUGE - like, two-in-one huge, so I decided to go for a brownie instead. It was a fairly large portion and it was heavy, moist and super chocolatey. I definitely recommend this if you're a fan of chocolate, but I found it a little too rich to eat in one shot. I think I could easily split the brownie out into 3 smaller portions and that would do the trick. We won't tell my trainer about this. Service: Meh. The girl who was at the counter wasn't exactly a ray of sunshine. Price point: $4 for one brownie. A bit steep but worth it to treat yourself once in a while.

Yelp
Quite delicious. A thin crisp of an outer shell on this deep fried delight, and inside a light and fluffy like air donut. Their donuts are not oozing with sweetness like the Horton's donuts. Instead, they are refreshingly home-made tasting. I am not really a donut fan, but eating these makes me want to re-consider. Eat one that is freshly baked. That is your best bet to truly enjoy it at its finest.

Valérie D.

Yelp
OMG their donuts are delicious !! They have huge donut that taste like heaven.

Adrian C.

Yelp
Get the truck wheel donut. Although not a cake donut, it's the best you'll get in Montreal.

M G.

Yelp
I know it's not what they're known for, but this place has the best coffee in the plateau. They're apple fritters are the bomb too.

Penny W.

Yelp
I don't know why the comments about the donuts here are good. For me, it is gross. I bought an chocolate donut when I pass by, $4. It is super oily and greasy. Very dense, too. The chocolate topping is made with chocolate , butter and walnuts, I think, very greasy, too. And the donut itself doesn't taste much, Neither salty nor sweet, quite plain. I shared with my husband to see what's his opinion, turns out he just took a bit and the rest went to the garbage. Won't go back again.

Sandy S.

Yelp
My friends and I had one donut each from their food truck. We choice 3 different flavors. And all 3 were discusting. So oily. I know donuts are fried but come on it was so greasy our hands were drenched in oil. The little bag it was in was so oily you couldn't hold it without having to wash your hands. Overall not worth the hype. Overpriced for tasteless oily donuts. None of us finished our donut; went straight to the garbage!

Lu Z.

Yelp
Only had it from the food truck, it is the densest donut i've ever eaten, the opposite of fluffy tim horton/crispy cream donuts. Really is rich there's no way you can finish this by yourslef. If your a donut fan you have to try this to get your own opinion about mtl's best donut. My favourite in mtl be 1. Crispy cream 2 Lawrance 3. Chez Boris . And this place gets a 4. 2 words to sum up: less is more. 5 stars for originality. For mtl ofcourse. I heard the best donut is Voodoo donuts from Portland.

KL L.

Yelp
Yup. The donuts here are unique. They are wonderful. Some reviewers found them oily but I didn't. They were just right in size and texture.

Kamy D.

Yelp
The working time states up to 9 pm, I tried visited yesterday - at around 5-6 pm and it was already closed?!

Tom G.

Yelp
Delicious donuts that have a buttery and fluffy consistency. My wife got the caramel and almond croissant which was also tasty. It was more caramel than almond, but the inside was soft and flakey. It's a great place to stop in and grab something but they do have some seating

Corinne R.

Yelp
Pistachio donut was a-mazing... I tried it at the food truck festival (bouffons montreal - drop what you're doing and GO THERE INSTEAD!) and everyone was drooling over their donuts and they couldn't make 'em fast enough. I shared with two friends and we all agreed that this donut was out of this world. I will be back!

Amanda C.

Yelp
Oh gosh I love this place so much! As a lover of donuts and ice cream (and who are we kidding, pretty much anything pastry), this is heaven. I'm a big fan of their donuts: huge greasy rings of fried dough, coated with decadent toppings. I can see how perhaps they are not a one size fits all donut, but to me they are perfect. I'm looking forward to upcoming warm summer evenings for sampling all their ice cream. So far I've only tried the soft serve, but all the scooped flavors looked very enticing. My only comment is that they didn't have waffle cones, only the standard cones, but since ice cream is relatively new at Cremy, it wouldn't surprise me if they rolled out some sort of crazy delicious homemade cone sometime.

Liliana C.

Yelp
Wow, good donuts! We were overwhelmed by all the choices and couldn't decide on just one each, so we ended up with six. Didn't regret it. The strawberry merengue was particularly awesome, but they were all so fresh tasting and delicious, I would really recommend any one of them. There is room to sit inside, which we did, but it was sort of awkward because no one else was eating in.

Philip W.

Yelp
Best doughnut in Canada, hands down. Even compared to the iconic Dough franchise in Brooklyn, this emerges as the victor. Each doughnut is over 200 grams so there is true substance and the toppings are both delectable and whimsical. I only wish it was open every day of the week as I had a big craving today but they are not open on Tuesdays. Worth the wait, though!

Paul L.

Yelp
Overpriced, grossly oversized, greasy donuts that are tasteless a day on.Don't believe the hype. The brownies I got for having spent over $15 were good, however.

P M.

Yelp
DONUTS... so so so sad the first time trying them and they are incredibly oily. They have a nice underlying flavour but all you get is old deep fryer oil coating your mouth. Maybe it was a bad day, but we got 3 and the spiral ones were the worst. Basically 9$ wasted :(

Ben H.

Yelp
They have a booth at Just for Laughs. Their doughnuts: Freshly made (even at the festival) topped with melted chocolate and sprinkled with chocolate crumbs......delectable.
