Creo Chocolate
I walked by curious and left like a naughty child from the Wonka factory, except I was not regretful of choices.
They get you with the senses first. Warm chocolate in the air. A calm, beautiful space. Then a friendly face innocently offers you a sample on a silver platter, something with a name you soon forget and a flavor you never will. Suddenly you’re standing there chewing, recalibrating your expectations, and realizing you’re not leaving empty handed. In fact, you may need extra hands.
The chocolate is decadent without putting on airs. Rich, smooth, and confident. It rolls around your palate like it knows exactly why it’s there. No gimmicks, no weird flavor stunts, just really well made chocolate doing its job.
We bought a box of truffles for the kids, and I highly recommend letting the shop choose for you. For the adults on our trip we added chocolate covered cherries, pretzels, and the malted milk balls. The malted milk balls stopped me in my tracks. I kept thinking I wish I’d had these in movie theaters as a kid. They wouldn’t have survived the previews.
Everything was excellent. Nothing overstayed its welcome. Most of it was gone within a day, which might be the highest compliment.
If you’re in the neighborhood and have even a little time, don’t skip this place. It’s a one of a kind experience, and it earns that claim.
