Denver’s Essential French Restaurants - Eater Denver

"The people of France, especially those of the northwestern region of Brittany, have enjoyed eating crepes since the Middle Ages. Here they’re made by popular Denver chef Alain Veratti on imported iron griddles while customers sip cappuccinos or a glass of French wine. Choose from a selection of gluten-free, buckwheat, or wheat crepes, with a range of fillings from savory salmon to fresh fruits and ice cream." - Gigi Sukin

Google
I fell in love with this place since they were located in Cherry Creek and followed them to their new location on Madison and 12th Ave. The crepes are always delicious!! I pair mine with a cup of coffee and always finish with the Heathers crepe. Please stop by and enjoy the French flair, nice atmosphere, relaxed, inviting and very good food! 💐awesome date idea.

Google
Yummy savory crepes! The service was fast, the restaurant was empty when we went but the food was delicious. Next time I want to try the dessert crepes! I enjoyed the Chicken and Mushroom crepes and I also had to tryout the Margarita Crepe. They were both hot and crispy. My only reason for not giving 5 stars is that the chicken in my crepe was very dry. I was hoping they made the chicken per order fresh since the place was empty but I know the chicken was made in advance. Hopefully this will improve in future visits.

Google
Crepes & Crepes was delicious. Great location nestled in the neighborhood. The service was very good, the food was really good and we loved the atmosphere. They have a nice selection of savory and sweet crepes and we’ll as an assortment of other dishes and beverages. I would definitely recommend, and will be back again.

Google
Don’t sleep on this spot! Best crepes in the Denver area (I’ve done my searching). Great menu with lots of options, along with a super cute French ambiance. Daniela has been our server several times and she rocks! My partner and I drive 30 minutes for these crepes almost every other week. 10/10 recommend

Google
First time here & the food was absolutely amazing. The service was good but they weren’t busy, so not sure how it is during the rush. I had the Ratatouille Crepe & added goat cheese with a side of sausage. The sausage had a nice kick to it & my Cappuccino was a nice addition to the meal. I will definitely be coming back to try more of the menu! 😍

Google
The food is wonderful - They offer a great selection of both savory crapes and sweet crapes. I always enjoy swinging by and getting food from this place. The restaurant is clean and very attentive. It is a very small place, but that makes it for a great intimate setting for bringing someone to have a small conversation about something or bringing family or lover(s). My last experience I tried to call in an order before they closed and they were very polite and took my order over the phone... The only small little problem was that they got my order completely wrong. That however does not disturb me in the slightest - instead of my favorite poulette au gratin, they included a Ratatouille, Which to my delight and surprise was absolutely delicious. On the other hand when my natella and banana crepe only came out as banana, I was saddened, but luckily remedied the situation with my own nutella. I can only blame myself and my thick accent for that delicious misorder that was fortuitous none the less. (Sidenote, I came in on a different day and enjoyed the nutella and banana crêpe pictured bellow) To praise the staff, once they heard that I did not order what they thought I did, they did reach out and say they can correct it and remake the order. I'm just one of those eccentric customers that doesn't believe in accidents and learns to accept fate as it comes. They were incredibly nice and courteous. TL:DR - good food, good place, nice staff, and if you call in over the phone, don't have a thick French accent that can be misunderstood. If you do, you will still get delicious food, even if it is not exactly what you ordered. :)

Google
The crepes were delicious! We would definitely recommend the Margarita and Heather's Favorite. I would also recommend the hot chocolate which was topped by some of the best whipped cream I've had.

Google
Very tasty ham & camembert crepe, but egg crepe was a bit dry with nothing added to support the eggs. The ambiance of this redecorated space is wonderful and much more welcoming than the old burger bar decorations.

Yelp
Came here for a brunch. Not many people around but it was a weekday so probably why. It was a little hot inside but the staff was nice enough to turn on the fans for us. Service overall was amazing and the food was delicious. They have both indoor and outdoor seating and allow dogs in the outdoor seating. We plan to come here again. I recommend it !

Yelp
Food was delicious and service was great! We ate two crepes at the restaurant and took two to go. Those were delicious even hours later.

Yelp
The crêpes are always fantastic and it's a nice cozy, quiet place. The strawberry banana Nutella crêpes are always my favorite.

Yelp
This restaurant gets an A+ in my book. It's very cute has lots of chickens and roosters. The sever was very attentive and made sure everything was to our liking. The food was very good! Will definitely return.
google avatar

Yelp
Soooo tasty, we had hot chocolate, sweet and savory crepes and my brother got the French onion soup. Everything was delicious! We will definitely come back again. Service felt slow but everything came out fresh and tasty. The servers were young and maybe need some help with customer service, I would recommend not coming during a rush, it might feel rough. We were the only ones at the restaurant and it felt perfect.

Yelp
Loved this cute crepe restaurant! Small parking area in front and the inside and patio are very nice. We tried the beef stroganoff crepe, the crepe des fetes and the French onion soup. The beef one was really creamy and yummy. The fetes one had really delicious cherry filling and that's my new favorite crepe. The French onion soup was very herbaceous and good. Service was also good. Highly recommend!

Yelp
The idea of a creperie is super cool to me! This was my first time going somewhere for just crepes. Perhaps I should've other things as well but I realized this was a pretty light breakfast and it was not as filling as I would have imagined. The crepe was okay in my opinion but I think I was expecting a bit more pizzazz of some sort to elevate the flavor or even the presentation. The sweet crepes were very pretty in their presentation but the savory ones felt my like a to go order put on a plate. I got more of a breakfast sandwich type of crepe, which was exactly what I wanted but still found myself searching for more. Overall the place is super cute and in the summer it's nice to sit on their front patio area. The service was good as well.
google avatar

Ashley T.

Yelp
Crepe was okay. There was a LOT of filling to where I couldn't taste the crepe. Little disappointed since it's supposed to be a crepe shop and that's their specialty. I will say that had a great selection of crepes to choose from and the shop itself was very cute. Their lemonade that they make themselves was DELICIOUS! Definitely the highlight of my time there. Waitstaff was friendly but took a long time to get to me even though there were only 2 other people in the restaurant.

Yelp
It is very hard to find genuine French crêpes in the U.S when this place opened its first store in Cherry Creek years ago they brought their authentic crêpe making equipment from France, did a lovely Provencal decor, and have served the best crêpes in the Denver area for years. Absolutely worth going, and the prices are still reasonable.
google avatar

Yelp
Visited here again for lunch, even better than before! They've staffed up so service is smoother and the food was even more on point. Lovely outside patio with plenty of shade. Highly recommended!

Yelp
Awesome dinner experience at their all-new location at 12th and Madison! Enjoyed a non-crepe dish that was fabulous... Poulet Au Gratin and recommend a side of sautéed spinach! Also loved the French Onion Soup OMG! On top of it all, the staff and customer service are amazing! Love the refreshed and very French remodel of the space! This is a beloved corner of Congress Park and I feel this is an excellent fit for our lovely neighborhood... can't wait to return for all their other offerings!

Yelp
First timers and no disappointments!! We stopped in after dinner at home - house made pasta. So sweet crepes next. We choose the sour cherry crepe and a mocha coffees. yum! Both of us have been serious sour cherry fans for 10+ years - picking then de-stoning the cherries. There is just something special about pitted sour cherries!! And the cherry crepe was fabulous! We Will be back for these. And to check out other crepes!

Yelp
I was so excited to find this place while visiting Denver!! My favorite crepes place closed down in chicago so this was such a treat!! My girlfriend and I shared the nutella and banana crepe, SO yummy!! She had the Seafood Provencale and I had the Crepe Cadix. Forewarning, the Cadix comes with a pepperoni type chorizo. Not the mexican chorizo I had in mind, nonetheless it was delicious and I finished the whole thing! ha

Yelp
UPDATE - new location! The menu's the same, which is a good thing, though they have hinted that with the new kitchen they may be able to expand the dinner offerings. But you're here for the crepes, savory or sweet, all of which are excellent. The new space should suit them well and I'm glad they made the move to someplace that should be a little easier than fighting with Cherry Creek.

Rose S.

Yelp
The manager is a horrible person. Every time I have been here I see her being rude to the customers. We went to the one in cherry creek all the time and the service was significantly better. They have no system for reservations we had a reservation and didn't get sat until an hour and a half later because one of the staff members messed it up. The manager then proceeded to do NOTHING but be rude as hell to make up for it. With out her the place would be great. Go here if you want to get dirty looks and rude comments from the management. Coffee sucked too

Yelp
Had to try the new location of Crêpes 'n Crêpes. It did not disappoint. The new space is fresh, charming, and the perfect balance of open yet cozy. Staff were welcoming and happy to help with recommendations. I also love all the authentic French offerings. I lived in France when I was little and Crêpes 'n Crêpes serves the best crêpes I've found in the states. We'll be back soon!

Yelp
I was excited about a new restaurant in my neighborhood. The remodel is cute and I was expecting good things. The food and server were good, but the plating was boring. Nothing on the plate but the crepe, no garnish or flourish. We had leftovers and asked for a to-go box. When the bill came was surprised to see a charge for the to-go box! That was a surprise as I have only seen that on large takeout orders, which I get.. They also charged us the 3.2% credit card processing fee if I had known that I would have paid in cash. I'm guessing there will be a next time as it's within walking distance and the food was good. I'll be sure to bring my own Tupperware and cash!

Yelp
We came here on a Saturday morning for breakfast. There was plenty of metered street parking in the area and we had no problem getting a table as there were only a few other customers dining in at the time. We were greeted by our waitress right away, and she got us water and coffee while we looked over the menu. There's quite a variety of both sweet and savory crepes, but I opted for a sweet breakfast that morning and got a strawberry and banana crepe with Nutella. My boyfriend ordered the crepe with Belgian chocolate and we both asked for a side of bacon. Our food came out super quickly and we were impressed with the generous portions. I loved the fresh fruit and abundance of Nutella in my crepe, and my boyfriend really loved his Belgian chocolate one. The texture of the crepe was perfect and the flavors were spot on. The bacon was quite salty, but the sweetness of my crepe was a good counter to that. The table next to us ordered savory crepes which looked really good- I would definitely come back to give other menu items a taste!

Yelp
This place BLOWS. I drive past and saw the NOW OPEN SIGN. Me and girlfriend thought we would check it out. This was Sunday afternoon the place was not even remotely busy and the service was terrible. They mostly stood around at the bar doing nothing. Not to mention the crepe was basically just saturated dough....anyways spend your time and money anywhere else but here.

Yelp
Cozy, welcoming environment for a couple trying to grab a late weekday morning breakfast with their infant in tow. Service was speedy (just make sure you follow the very clear directions to WAIT to be seated) -- in fact, it made us wonder if following the directions gets you better service...because French. :-) Highly recommend the crepe cadix -- simple, but the combo of scrambled eggs, Spanish chorizo, Swiss, tomatoes and onion all folded into the fluffy battered pocket filled my savory stomach but still allowed me to dive into the remainder of my wife's sweet Nutella companion crepe. The space is deceptively large, and I've seen it packed to the gills. My one downside of the restaurant is its 3rd Ave location -- between the hours of 9 am and 8 pm, parking is a nightmare. Do note that there is an easily overlooked parking garage just west of the restaurant on the south side of the street, and it is half the price of the larger lot underneath Barry's/Shake Shack.
google avatar

Gray S.

Yelp
Almost $100 for 4 crepes and 3 lattes including tip. Gave this place a shot and wanted to like it, but probably won't be returning. Sweet crepes were ok, but undercooked. Egg and chorizo had over cooked eggs and I was expecting the other kind of chorizo, which I guess was my fault. Service was kind, but a bit slow.

Yelp
I can't say enough good things about Crepes 'n Crepes. Congress Park was so lucky when they moved into the neighborhood. The crepes are delicious - each flavor I've tried is a notch above. Same with the coffees and tea. Great ambiance, cute interior with yellow wallpaper. I come here when I want a leisurely meal. What puts it over the top are the friendly staff. They make it feel like a home-away-from-home. I saw someone else comment on the price. It's comparable to other spots nearby (maybe a couple bucks more sometimes). But for a place that gets so much right, it's worth it.
google avatar

Deanna R.

Yelp
Wonderful crêpes, both savory and sweet. The coffee made me feel like I was in Paris.
google avatar

Melanie T.

Yelp
It's a nice little place in Cherry Creek that serves nothing but crepes. The decor is cute but beware of dining outdoors. We were sat at the corner near the back where there's no wind (would have been nice if there was a fan since there was a heater right above us). If you're lucky and sit near the sidewalk under the umbrellas, it will feel a lot better. I am happy with my selection of Heathers Favorite Strawberry Crepe. It was delicious with the ice cream. The chantlily mocha was quite delicious. I did try the sundae that my friend ordered and I was not a fan of the strawberry or chocolate ice cream. Stick with the sweet choices.

Yelp
A most splendid experience! Captured by the elegance of the French setting and delightful music calms the restless mind and tickles the rested heart to relax and indulge your senses in this moment. Maybe it was the le cafe noisette or the delicious margarita crepe, or even the servers smile. I know that this place is one on the books! Will be returning, even if it's just to sit and relax with a cup of coffee and my laptop. The drawback is parking. Limited parking might frustrate customers.

Anna F.

Yelp
Went for the first time today. The place was basically empty, maybe 2 other couples at tables. The "hostess" never once smiled at us, was brusque and dismissive. But, she was like that with the few customers who arrived during our time there, so we didn't feel singled out. Too bad. The hostess stood behind the bar, scowling, focused on her phone, for the majority of the time we were there. Two crepes and two lattes - $50. Ugh. The server was nice but had no support from the "hostess" who was only attending to her phone. Food was ok, nothing special. The presentation was meh. The place wasn't crowded, not even a quarter full, at midday on a weekend. Won't come back.

Yelp
Small and quaint, this little gem Of a restaurant is a treasure to cherry creek and those who dine there. Get here early because the seats fill quickly!
google avatar

Christine C.

Yelp
I love this place so much. I used to come to the cherry creek location in college so tried this location while in town and food was exactly as I remembered.
google avatar

Miranda E.

Yelp
This place is sooo good. My bf and I came here for breakfast early on a Sunday and it got busy fast. I like sweet so I got the strawberries and blueberries with chantilly cream, he likes savory and tried the crepe cadix. We tried each other's, they were good, but we both loved our own choice. My crepe had the perfect sweetness and was the perfect size for breakfast. Also got a French vanilla latte that was served in an extra large cup. Can't wait to come back and try more crepes here!
google avatar

J A A.

Yelp
Food is good and the wait staff is excellent. It's a very large space, and they just cannot find enough awesome kitchen staff. I believe they've gone through several people since the new location opened. I'm pulling for them, as it's wonderful to have this in the area.
google avatar

Stefanie C.

Yelp
Welp. Between visiting this Crêpes place and writing this review, the restaurant has temporarily (or permanently) shut down. Can't say I'm totally surprised because my experience here was just okay. Coffee tasted burnt, service was slow, and the ingredients used to make my Margarita Crêpe weren't very fresh. Whether savory or sweet, all the Crêpes I tried (amongst the group I was with) were disappointing. Hope there's an opportunity for the business to reopen and do better next time.
google avatar

Ed D.

Yelp
Nice place for crepes. They had the outside patio open and we were able to grab a table in the shade. There was a nice breeze on a sunny day. I like the decor, it was simple but homely. The waitress was very nice and explained the menu. I got the chicken mushroom crepe and it was delicious. The crepe was a little crispier than other places but I liked that. I also got a cappuccino and it was more than normal in a bigger coffee mug. The prices were good. Nice experience

Suzanne M.

Yelp
worst dining experience I have had in awhile. Hostess told us wait would be 40 minutes once she was done studying her phone and her nails. On Saturday morning at 11, I figured that was probably a normal wait time. 85 minutes later when we were finally seated, one of the staff came over and rudely informed us that "no outside drinks were allowed", which is fine, but they failed to realize we were just holding our empty cups from the ridiculously long wait, with no trash can provided outside. Then we waited another 10 minutes before taking our order. I ordered the mushroom crepe, which came quickly, not surprising since the crepe itself was undercooked. Mushrooms were so tough I could hardly chew them. What a waste of a morning.

Libby R.

Yelp
Wow the service is a mess! I live nearby and was pulling for it but... it's a disaster. They swamp the place with new tables when the kitchen catches up. Everyone sits forever with no drinks or food or tabs. It clears out and they swamp it again. The food is mediocre at best. Certainly not good enough to be there over an hour. The Bloody Mary is one of the worst things I've ever tasted. Get brunch anywhere else.
google avatar

Rachel B.

Yelp
This spot is located in the heart of Cherry Creek and has great outdoor seating where you can people-watch. The reason for only three stars is while the crepes are tasty they fit into the "a-ok" category for me. The service was extremely slow when we went at 11 on a weekday. We saw several people have to ask multiple times for their check or trying to wave down the waiter so make sure you have plenty of time before coming here.
google avatar

Danielle M.

Yelp
Yuuuum! I haven't been to this little spot ever and I've lived in the area for years. How?? I think this will be one of my favorite spots for a nightcap and sweet tooth cravings.
google avatar

Jean-Charles N.

Yelp
The service is great and the food was delicious. We tried the signature crepes and didn't regret it at all. The Mocha with Chantilly on top was pretty good too

M M.

Yelp
The 3rd star is given in memory of the excellent food and professionalism of the former Cherry Creek location, which closed within the last few years. Two visits to its new, smaller location (12th and Madison), which though a bit cramped retained some pleasantness, but left us disappointed in several unannounced C'nC changes: high prices, odd un-French hot beverage choices (chai latte), portion sizes, ingredients, and preparation skills--for example, canned fruit mixed with fresh; unripe, cubed tomatoes poorly sauced, and served with a few bacon pieces in a crepe as an entree; tough, knife-resistant crepes, and stingy-ish servings. I wondered if servers were actually preparing dishes. My companion was happy enough with his more generous smoked salmon crepe, as it was properly cooked, generously sauced, and moist, unlike my various test dishes since visits began. I never left the 3rd Ave. restaurant with stomach upset, as on my last visit here. Service is crisp, and as everywhere, some servers are more pleasant than others, though on the last trip my questions about this new and different level of C'nC experience were not answered in full honesty I'm afraid. To end on a higher note, I often wonder why restaurants serving simple items like crepes with fillings don't use organic products, and that does seem to be happening in one or two restaurants. We still have to ask for these things, unfortunately.
google avatar

Laurie S.

Yelp
Eh. Food was ok. We had brought a group of 10 people here for breakfast today, we usually go in a large group every Friday and we decided to try something new. We needed to get separate bills and I guess that was too much trouble. The waitress did offer to split the bill into 1/4's, which, I can't see how that would be at all helpful but anyway, thats where were at. I guess the frustration is that we had 10 people at our table, all ordered food and drinks of some kind, and it was too much to separate the bills, even though we had more people at our one table than they entire restaurant had the entire time we were there. And then two staff were on their cell phones for a good majority of the time. So, I don't know, if its a service charge thing, to run the bills separately, but to have a table outspend the rest of the entire restaurant and then have employees just on their phones because its so dead, but then just not offer good customer service is like.... Really? Ok I guess.

J P.

Yelp
Why are you all so rude and angry? There was not a single customer in your restaurant when I got there and I said party of 4 and you wouldn't seat me till my friends arrived nor serve me a drink at the bar while I was waiting. I could understand if you had a packed restaurant and my whole party wasn't there but this was absurd. And I couldn't order a drink at the bar? I will never be back because of how you all treated us last time. It's too bad considering we use to visit your old location all the time in Cherry Creek. Maybe it's something in the Denver water?

Yelp
I would definitely not order delivery from here. To be clear: I can't speak to in person service, and it's tough to know where the blame between restaurant and Grubhub lies, but definitely just had a very frustrating experience. I ordered delivery of one chicken and mushroom crepe. It was delivered, but Grubhub never sent me any notification that the driver had left it outside. That said, when I did find it ~15 minutes later it was so cold, it was as if it had been cooked an hour earlier. I was really disappointed. After all, with the mountain of fees and tips that cost $22 for that one terrible crepe, which even a microwave couldn't salvage. When I went to review the experience on Grubhub, my ability to review was entirely removed. It shows as "skipped," a notation I've never once seen before. In summary, either the driver or the restaurant knew this was a no good experience so I was just silenced on that point. I contacted Grubhub who said they would "pass along" the information, and claimed I could review (which I couldn't). After some discourse I got a refund. Turns out that's a refund of $13 on my $22 order of a measly single crepe. Great. Thanks. Glad I still paid the tax, delivery and service fees on this hot mess.

Yelp
I'd say this was a 3.5. I would absolutely come back, but not quite a 4 star for me. The have good outdoor seating and 6 of us were able to be seated without a reservation or wait. The service was a little slow. I had an hour and a half left on my meter when I arrived and I still didn't make it back to my car that was just around the corner before my meter expired. The food was good, but my bill was wrong (to my advantage), but I still pointed it out and said I was in a hurry. I got the right bill back, but that all took some time and I thought maybe they could've knocked a few bucks off since I pointed out an $11 mistake. They added an auto gratuity for our group of 6.

Yelp
Great coffee, served in big cups reminiscent of a cafe au lait. Not sure about the service, 3 waiters, 2 tables with 4 patrons total, 25 minutes from order to table.

Yelp
This is my visited to Denver see my grand son the my daughter take me to this place for breakfast , very busy but quick serve and food was phenomenal will back again

Yelp
Delicious! Had the Belgium chocolate and the banana and they were fantastic. Quiet. Great service.

Yelp
Such a yummy crepe spot! Right in downtown, and it has a nice outdoor patio. The crepes were delicious and you definitely get your money's worth. I got the strawberry crepe with caramel, cream cheese, and chantilly. It was great but I would not get the cream cheese next time, because it was really rich and I didn't realize how thick the crepes were already! But I would definitely come back and try out other ones.
google avatar

Alex S.

Yelp
This place is a quaint little French cafe in the walking mall of cherry creek. I've been wanting to try it for awhile and my mom loves crepes so we went here when she was in town. One thing to know is that parking is the normal street parking and they won't seat you until the whole party is there. We only waited about 3 minutes to be seated on a Sunday around 11am, so it was quick! We both ordered a sweet, fruity crepe and our partners ordered savory crepes. The only thing they were disappointed about was that the sausage was kielbasa and not pork sausage. It didn't state on the menu anywhere what type of sausage it was going to be. But as for our sweet crepes, they were amazing!!!!! I would 100% go back to try another crepe- delish!
google avatar

Maria Jo N.

Yelp
This place is such a cherry creek staple. The crepes are great and so is the right little ambiance and everyone running the operation. I like to get a seat at the bar if I can, especially in the winter, so I watch the crepe making.

Yelp
The perfect Yelp experience is to pick a restaurant near where you are staying based solely on good reviews and have it exceed your expectations. Yup, that happened. We went offhours so there was only one other customer. There are a couple of different rooms you can dine in but we choose to sit at the bar. Some of the reviews complain about the service but we had the opposite experience. Both Nate and Greg were quite friendly, and took the time to explain the dishes and make recommendations. One common misconception is that crepes are for breakfast or are only sweet. In fact, so-called savory crepes are my favorite -- often filled with various meats and vegetables. And, btw, crepes can be quite filling. We got a Turkey + Goat Cheese on buckwheat (it's gluten free) and a Beef Bourguignon + Mushrooms using the regular batter. Both were fresh with good quality ingredients. Sometimes crepes get dry from over-cooking but these were done perfectly. They give you a choice of two sauces you can add: pesto and red pepper. We preferred the pesto and asked for more of it. Even though we were pretty full, we decided to order a dessert crepe. That was a good decision! The compote de pommes is chunky sauteed apples cooked with butter and spices and topped with cinnamon, powdered sugar, and chantilly cream. I know, I know, it sounds decadent but it wasn't over-the-top sweet. An almost perfect dessert. Kudos to Crepe 'n Crepe. You look unassuming on the outside but there's a whole bunch of goodness inside.

Yelp
I haven't gone back for awhile because the original location is closed and didn't know they relocated. So glad they're still in business!!!!
