Yelp
The 3rd star is given in memory of the excellent food and professionalism of the former Cherry Creek location, which closed within the last few years. Two visits to its new, smaller location (12th and Madison), which though a bit cramped retained some pleasantness, but left us disappointed in several unannounced C'nC changes: high prices, odd un-French hot beverage choices (chai latte), portion sizes, ingredients, and preparation skills--for example, canned fruit mixed with fresh; unripe, cubed tomatoes poorly sauced, and served with a few bacon pieces in a crepe as an entree; tough, knife-resistant crepes, and stingy-ish servings. I wondered if servers were actually preparing dishes. My companion was happy enough with his more generous smoked salmon crepe, as it was properly cooked, generously sauced, and moist, unlike my various test dishes since visits began. I never left the 3rd Ave. restaurant with stomach upset, as on my last visit here. Service is crisp, and as everywhere, some servers are more pleasant than others, though on the last trip my questions about this new and different level of C'nC experience were not answered in full honesty I'm afraid. To end on a higher note, I often wonder why restaurants serving simple items like crepes with fillings don't use organic products, and that does seem to be happening in one or two restaurants. We still have to ask for these things, unfortunately.
