The Crescent Lounge

Saturday night was easily one of the most enjoyable karaoke experiences I’ve had. I’m a DJ from Oklahoma, visiting Seattle for the first time with my husband for my sister’s wedding. While spending the evening in Capitol Hill, we happened to stop by the Crescent Lounge and I’m really glad we did. From the moment we walked in, the bartenders were friendly, efficient, and attentive. We had our drinks and our tab paid in under two minutes, which immediately made us feel welcomed. We stayed for several hours, and Double D was hosting karaoke that night. He clearly takes pride in what he does. From handing out free stickers on the stage to engaging the crowd, his energy set the tone for a fun and welcoming atmosphere. When it was my turn to sing, I was greeted warmly, given a clean microphone, and even accommodated with a last minute song change which, as a DJ myself, I know isn’t always easy. The sound quality was excellent, and he did a great job hyping the crowd afterward, making the experience even more memorable. Saturday night karaoke at the Crescent Lounge is truly top notch, and Double D is a big reason why. The only downside to the evening was the tone of some interactions with the door staff, which felt more intense than expected and affected the overall comfort of the experience. That said, overall we had a great night and would absolutely return especially for karaoke.

Over the past year and a half, many changes have taken place at the Crescent Lounge. While not all of them have aligned with my personal preferences, I want to take a moment to recognize and commend Double D for the outstanding work they consistently deliver. I attend all of their karaoke nights, and the experience is always exceptional. The music played between singers is fun and well curated, their energy is welcoming, and they clearly put extra care into mixing each performer to ensure everyone sounds their best. Beyond the technical skill, Double D brings a positive attitude, a genuine smile, and a clear passion for what they do. In my interactions with them outside of performances, they have always been professional, respectful, and sincerely engaged with customers. Their dedication and care truly enhance the atmosphere of the bar! 11/10! an excellent asset to the Crescent Lounge.

I’ve been a regular customer on both Saturdays and Sundays for about a year. In recent weeks, however, I’ve chosen to stop attending on Saturdays and now only visit on Sundays due to repeated uncomfortable interactions with door staff. On several occasions, the door staff on Saturdays approach toward my friends and me felt unnecessarily abrupt and unwelcoming. There were instances where security closely monitored our table, removed drinks before we had finished them, and used a very aggressive tone with patrons at closing time. While I understand the need to manage a busy bar, the manner in which this was handled felt excessive and inconsistent with the otherwise friendly atmosphere of the bar. One situation in particular stood out, where a friend was asked to leave shortly after calmly questioning the tone being used with him. The situation escalated quickly and did not appear to be handled with de-escalation or clear communication. This left several of us feeling uncomfortable. I genuinely enjoy The Crescent Lounge and appreciate the community it creates, which is why I’m sharing this feedback. I hope management considers reviewing front of house interactions to ensure guests feel welcome, respected, and comfortable returning.

I loved everything but the smell of Pine Sol and Urine. I'm happy for everyone that loves it but I have a smell issue. Maybe closing the bathroom doors would help. The bartender was super friendly and so were the people at the bar. Good place it just needs some pretty smelling candles or something.

Mc is good. Service is pretty bad. Bouncers are worse. Clientelle worse than that. Go elsewhere. Do not deal with people who think your identity is a problem. Queer bar? Nope.

Love the vibes here. Bartender and staff were so nice. I ordered a shot and dropped it like an idiot and they gave me a new one free of charge. I knew right away I was dealing with a friendly fun staff. Loved it!

They absolutely play favorites and skip people who are not regulars. Definitely a cool and fun vibe, but unfortunately, they do not play fair :( they didn’t let me sign up for karaoke even though it was 2 hours before closing which is kind of crazy. Had fun either way! The KJ and staff sing instead of letting patrons sing.

I'm sorry. I'm tired of being treated like an outsider by new staff. I'm tired of the regulars being ostracized, or being made to feel like they can't bring any criticism up without the owner banning them arbitrarily. Unless there's a lot of changes for the better, I won't be bringing myself or my friends to the Crescent, as much as it breaks my heart, as much fun as I used to have here. Absolutely completely different bar than the one I went to a year ago.

Karaoke every night, good vibes and a friendly crowd. A good antidote for the Seattle freeze.

meh service. the bouncers they usually hire are lowkey weird and make very awful assumptions of patrons so wouldn't recommend ever coming here. long lines to karaoke for a very strange inexplicable reason, but if you want to waste your time come down here

This place is God awful. There were maybe 2 dozen people in the bar on a Saturday. Clarissa runs the karaoke at Crescent Lounge, at least on Saturdays. However even arriving at 11:00 PM on a Saturday with 8 people in the bar the wait to sing a song is 2.5 hours, after waiting an hour from putting a name in, it was another 1.5 hours to sing. Mind you there were 6-7 singers in that time (including Clarissa and her friend who's birthday it was, who conveniently moved ahead of everyone). We gave her a "tip" but unless you are a regular don't plan to actually sing within any reasonable time. Calling out all the singers names who are no longer there is mainly how Clarissa spends her time as a DJ. Instead of actually finding people to actually sing karaoke (remember there were a couple dozen total people in the bar) she called herself to sing, her girlfriend whose birthday it was, and then the bartender, who proceeded to threaten people to treat their bar staff well, or we'll close down early (it was daylight savings time). Avoid this place at all costs

Love this bar. Karaoke is always fun and the bartender is always ready to bring me the GOODS! Great dive bar vibe for karaoke lovers!

Cool space and place. Friendly bartenders. Nice mixed crowd with emphasis on karaoke. Haven't tried the food (I'm not sure they have food). This is one of the oldest lgbtq bars in the city (if not the oldest), so I'm a proud supporter of the business and my lgbtq community.

Not a friendly or welcoming place at all. It was my first time there and I was met with condescending answers when I asked how to properly get a drink. Apparently there's a "line" system that isn't obvious considering the random l, incorrect signs that say "order here". I was new and confused and instead of people helping I received snarky comments that made me feel uncomfortable. I've never been to a gay bar that's made me feel so unwelcomed ....

We decided to end out honey moon trip at the islands and head to Seattle a day early. Anyway I wanted to sing karaoke and when I googled it this place came up. I am so glad that we came here. Everyone was so nice and friendly! There was gorgeous divas everywhere! The bartender Ruvin was dope! He was very nice and accommodating. They definitely made out night so much more fun and interesting. The drinks were great and moderately priced. Despite the amount of people there the restrooms were surprisingly clean. I hope that I can come back here soon and see all these wonderful people again.

I am new to Seattle and have been looking for a great karaoke spot. By far my favorite place and I would say better energy than Hula Hula! Shout out to Colton, Jaron, and Twig!! Great job!

Bartenders are wonderful and drinks are good but if you come for karaoke when it's someone else's birthday who isn't in your group, despite tipping, you won't be singing. Just poor service on that front.

We are here on a Tuesday night. Amazing vibe and super nice bartender. We feel welcomed. Lovessss it.

Cool lil lounge perfect for karaoke any day. Nice spot in Cap Hill. Definitely recommend stopping by if you're a fan of karaoke.

Fun place, small place. Karaoke started early about 7:30pm. Probably because of the show at 10:00 pm. Luke and Mark are friendly and take care of you. The downside is that parking is horrible. If you are lucky and find a lot or garage, be prepared to pay a ton of money. A cab is cheaper.

I'm a straight gay who who wandered into a gay bar and had an amazing time. Everyone was nice and accepting. Booze was cheap. Loved it here

I was lucky enough to have gone to Hula Hula early one evening. I went early cause last time it was full up and the last I heard The Crescent was closed. Long story short I paid too much for a margarita and watched what sounded like a bunch of unemployed musical theater folk singing karaoke. They were good but too good if you get my drift. I heard some guy at the bar talking about The Crescent just opened and there was a party going on. He was right. It was a gas. I hadn't sung karaoke without a mask for a year and a half and then only a couple times recently. Good happy hour, great owners, nice staff, fun crowd. The best gay karaoke in Seattle by far!!!

This is a fun gay bar. There was karaoke and some fun individuals. Place is kind of small and there's no room for dancing. I was just visiting Seattle for a few days, so i don't frequent this place. I'd go back though if I were to return.

WORST EXPERIENCE IN YEARS Been going to this LEGIT dive Bar for about 5 years now, and yesterday was the last straw. Aside from the entire place being FILTHY, like dust on everything, it's not worth it. Especially if you go for karaoke. Every time I go there, the KJ is a total dick t me. He turns the mic OFF. He speeds up my songs. Jealous maybe? I hosted karaoke for over 7 years, so I know when my mic is off. Seattle is a passive-aggressive city, but this is nuts! The place is snobby and if you don't know the people who work there, don't expect much. You can do better at Queer Bar karaoke nights. I'm writing this mostly so I don't forget to NEVER GO BACK AGAIN.

Ordered a Moscow Mule and it came without any ginger beer one of the main ingredients. They remade it and still no ginger beer. I decided to get another drink, paid the up charge.. yep... and then the bar tender told me I'm been rude. Being rude because I paid and tipped you for a drink that was incorrectly made that you couldn't fix? Just say you out of ginger beer and the drink is not available. Don't take people money thinking they drunk and can't tell the difference. It's the first drink for the night

I absolutely love this bar for the karaoke and the amazing host in Tuesday's, Blake. However as a bartender I tend to watch liquor pours when I am paying $10+ for drinks and this bar consistently does half pours. You don't even get a full ounce pour at this bar and I feel that for the price they should make sure their employees are giving full shots. Disappointed and will stick to drinking at other bars before going for karaoke.

Nice bar. Unfortunately a group of Mexican friends and I left early because the "karaoke boss" made us really uncomfortable. Different from all the *white* customers, we were not allowed to drink our cocktails because we needed to wear masks. No other white customer was asked to stop drinking to wear a mask. Really awkward.

Drinks were phenomenal, Ruvin behind the bar made you feel welcome and valued. Colton was the KJ on the night that we went, and he made sure that everyone was feeling good. Had the best time here.

I was really surprised by this place. We went on a Saturday, and it was packed! The atmosphere was really fun, but not as divey as I thought it would be. Very inviting! I'm a huge karaoke fan, so I'm always scoping for the next great place. I think for a group, this place is it! You get a few drinks, belt out whatever song is being sung. Get more drinks, and repeat. As for the karaoke itself. The DJ was nice and seemed very knowledgeable. I didn't look at the book, but it was HUGE! The wait is typical of a busy night; maybe one song an hour. The bummer was I couldn't hear a note I was singing when it was finally my turn. Maybe next time I'm ask to adjust the sound- if that helps, this place is five stars!!

Walked in as a first timer. Got attitude by the "security" as soon as we walked in. Took a whole 30 mins to get a drink. Obviously this bar has their "favorites" lol. Y'all are a joke.

Came only for early karaoke stop, they start at 7:00. This is a ghetto gay bar. Lousy service with only 6 people at the bar. We waited for 10 minutes before being acknowledged. Red wine was poured out of a tiny airplane style bottle into a champagne glass. Greasy rude servers and unusually expensive drinks at least my husband and I, we were charged $10 for a can of PBR and the pathetic glass of wine. Strange since all other reviewers say that the drinks are very reasonable? The karaoke sound was average, although the black KJ was happy, engaged and welcoming. He was the only highlight in this hole in the wall.

In my short stay in Seattle, I visited this bar twice. I enjoyed the laid-back, welcoming, and fun atmosphere. The karaoke is well-run and they have a wide song selection. There is also free street parking in the area, which is a plus. I was there on a slow night, so my friend and I were able to sing three times each.  The only thing I did not like was the inconsistency in drink prices. On my first night, I ordered a delicious Old Fashioned with Jim Bean bourbon. I was charged $8. However, the second night I visited, the bartender Marc (who is an excellent singer btw) made me the same drink, but charged me $11. He said it was because he added club soda, which amounted to $3 extra. First of all, Old Fashioned drinks do not contain club soda. I never asked him to add anything extra. Secondly, bartenders should charge consistent prices and use correct ingredients. I hope they fix this inconsistency for future patrons, especially since Old Fashioned is a very common drink order.  Other than that, it was a very nice dive bar. I would come back in future visits; I would just order shots.

Since the departure of that terrible manager this place has returned to its previous glory. Thank you so much to the staff who continue to make every visit an absolute blast. Can't wait for the post-COVID reopening!

Johanna is one of the best bartenders I've ever had! She's very polite, personable, and can make a killer lemon drop martini! Make sure to stop by The Crescent Lounge if you happen to be in Capitol Hill. You won't be disappointed. You're the best Johanna! I'll definitely be back!

So a couple of things I've read on negative reviews. Drinks that only had an ounce of booze. No way today: it's Saturday night and I'm fully drunk on two. They were rye manhattans but the bar tender made them well and I'm having a great time. Second hurrying songs, we've sung a few and the only time I've seen any hurrying is when there is a long ass outro. I'm honestly cool with that when there are plenty of folks who want to sing. This place is great. The crowd is supportive and the staff is super nice. We'll be back soon!

My wife and I just moved to Capitol Hill from SoCal, when out for a walk we went in for a drink. Very friendly people, have a small town feel, a neighborhood charismatic feel. It is literally just down the street from our flat, so super easy for a late night drink or during a football game.

Awesome place to hang. I celebrated my birthday in here and the people here are so loving since maybe because of the small area that it covers. Now the drinks are way too over priced for the delivery and execution of it. There's only one bar tender and I believe she needs a partner in bar tending. But nonetheless, this place is a great hangout place for anything.

I've only been to the Crescent twice and usually I'm repulsed by the crowd they attract before 8pm... Whenever I drive or walk past (I live just 2 blocks up) I see people standing around who look as though they haven't been sober since 1980. I will say though that the bar is AWESOME for karaoke and drinks on the weekends. I've never seen a whole bar sing along to a song like that! In fact, I'm not much of a singer but I joined in on a number of songs because their selection is great and the whole crowd is into it. If you're looking for a fun place to stumble into on a Friday or Satuday... I highly suggest you take a peak inside because everyone else is clearly having way more fun than you are. Join in and be a part of it! The mix of people is also great. It's stereotyped as a gay bar but to me it appears to be an "everyone is welcome" bar. I never really notice particular "types" of people inside. It's just a room of people out to have a good time. Even agewise you'll find that it's all spread out. Makes for an interesting night!

We were in Seattle this weekend for a friend's wedding. It also happened to be my birthday on Friday and, after we attended a casual get together with the happy couple, I wanted to sing karaoke. Bad. This bar has karaoke every day. That's right. EVERY. SINGLE. DAY. There are also wonderful people singing and supporting the singers. I made friends with a lovely couple, one of whom has been singing there for 10+ years. Good times. This is a popular spot so don't expect to sing a lot. However, I was thrilled to get two songs in before we headed back to our B&B for some much needed beauty sleep.

Everything was good. The bartender was great, the DJ was cool and the drinks were popping. The bouncer harassed me because he was having a bad day. When I spoke to the manager, he stated that there was nothing he could do, but allow me to get harassed. This was my first time at this bar. This maybe my last time as well. I just cannot believe that black people get treated so badly even in the LGBTQA community.

Only thing keeping you guys from five stars is the fact that you don't give your female employees a plac other than the restroom to pump breast milk. First and foremost that sucks for a new mom. Give them a place where customers are not banging on the door to provide sustenance​ for their babies. Secondly, it sucks for customers on a Friday waiting for 15-20 mins for the bathroom. Otherwise love you guys

Leaving Alaska, my flight was delayed heading back to DC. I was stuck in Seattle for three days. I love Seattle now and this bar is a major contributing factor. Karaoke rules and it rules especially here. Thanks for the fun memories with such interesting people. One of my favorite bar experiences ever.

Karaoke, karaoke, karaoke! if you do karaoke, then you must know the Crescent. Fun, lively place & there are always loads of people hanging out in front this joint. There's actually not a line to get in, but sometimes it does look like it. Inside it's crowded & hard to find a spot. People are always stepping on you & trying to squeeze past. But that's just because it's so popular. The bathroom sucks & I once had someone walk in on me! They need to make a bigger bathroom. The people are crazy here! If you go with your gay friends and they are hot, have them buy the drinks as they will get much much much better prices!

An oasis of the "old Seattle" in today's overpriced, sanitized, gentrified Capitol Hill. If you're looking for upscale gastropubs and $14 cupcakes, The Crescent is not for you. But if you want a fun, festive and down-to-earth hole in the wall where you can relax, knock back a couple cheap well drinks and sing your heart out, The Crescent is the spot. And if you're not in the mood for the crowds and long queues of the karaoke nights, going on a weekday evening has its own charm. The community of bargoers here is very inviting and inclusive. I don't usually strike up conversations with strangers, but it seems like every time I sit down at the Crescent, I meet someone who I end up talking to for hours.

I came her for karaoke with some friends and it turned out to be a pretty great night. Everyone is so welcoming and supportive here, I loved singing. You don't have to wait too long for your turn to sing either. The drinks are also strong.

LOVED this place! Came through on a business trip and if I lived in Seattle, I'd visit here all the time. First, for a dive bar, it's surprisingly open and airy - no stale smoke and sweat sort of vibe here. Second, the woman running the karaoke line was one of the best DJs I've seen - got everyone in rotation fairly, none of that "tip to get your song in" dance that a lot of folks play these days in big cities. The crowd was supportive, singers were pretty good for a karaoke crew, and the drinks weren't bad. It's definitely a beer or hard liquor sort of place - wine was out of tiny travel bottles.

The Crescent Lounge is the coolest, divey chic bar in Seattle. They have karaoke 7 nights a week, staff is awesome, and drinks are fab. They care about their clientele and make sure that the crowd is always happy, having fun, and feels accepted. It's like Seattle's version of Cheers on steroids. You walk in and everyone is smiling and having a good time- it makes you happy to be there. And when the karaoke starts- watch out! Not only are the singers pretty damn good, the whole bar sings along- it's epic. Highly recommend if you're looking for a place on Capitol Hill that you won't regret going to for a super fun time. Hats off to the staff- the drink lines may get long, but they rock it and well worth the wait.

This Karaoke Bar is a diamond in the rough. You have to look past the dark, the dinge, the fact that there is no drink menu (FYI, Tall Boys and Well Drinks are $5/piece), the grime covering the karaoke binders in order to see the community. A group of us stopped by here last Saturday around 9PM and we stayed until around 1AM. They don't serve food here, which is totally fine. (I don't know if I would trust the cleanliness of the kitchens.) And they let you bring in outside food. Recommendation: Amante's Pizza up the hill. The bathroom is gross, but I've been in far worse, and sometimes the DJ Sexxxxual Chocolate sings from his station - or even makes solo songs into duets. The bar sings along and cheers everyone on, like one huge crowd of friends. When it comes down to it: The bartenders, the bouncer (who is also a bartender) are all nice enough, the drinks are really affordable for the area, and the music selection is killer. Be forewarned though, parking is a freaking nightmare in this area.

This place has really gone downhill over the years. I used to love this bar for the simple fact that it managed to draw decent singing talents from all around Seattle. Now the karaoke is just awful. The only people who's songs are called are the guys who are willing to tip three or four bucks a song...and being that those people are perpetually drunk, the quality of music coming from this joint has definitely plunged down the shitter. Kinda like the quality of their disgusting bathrooms...Speaking of drunk, the last straw for me was last weekend, when the bartender cut me off after ONE beer. His reasoning? Because I looked drunk. I asked him what made me look drunk and he told me because I was turning red......Really??? Ever heard of Asian fucking flush?? You could put a cocktail in front of me and the fumes alone would make me turn red, doesn't mean I'm drunk !! We ended up leaving right after, and for the first time I did not tip them. I feel the entire bar needs a revamp from top to bottom.

I came here last night to do karaoke in honor of Freddie Mercury's birthday and had a very nice experience. A regular saw me having nerves outside the bar and stopped to talk to me and encourage me to feel at home; inside the bar, the atmosphere was laidback and friendly, with the bar staff being as helpful as they could in the loud karaoke environment. The karaoke host had the same idea I did about appropriate songs for the night and also made sure to remind everyone to clap for every performer. On a more serious note, although my outfit made it fairly clear I was transgender, I was not misgendered at all. This bar is a little out of the way for me, but I have every intention of going back.

I have been holding out on going to the cres for over a year.. which is silly bc i'm in this hood a ridiculous amount and, i very definitely appreciate strong, cheap drinks and dive bars. not to mention corny karaoke pop. finally my girl got me in, aaaaaaand the verdict is in: LIKELIKELIKE. the crowd is all over the place but always entertaining and very definitely not precocious or hipster. :D :D :D cool bartenders too. Pro tip: the bathrooms are pure sketch, me thinks its best not to sit on the seat ladies. tis def going to be a new haunt of mine. say hi if you see me

Gay bar + karaoke, can't go wrong. We arrived late, after 1pm, so they were doing last call every 10 minutes from that point on and made absolute sure to kick everyone out by 2am, even though it was only 1:45. The bathrooms are pretty sketchy and its super divey, but the people are fun and friendly and the karaoke is a blast. Come early to get your name on the list!

Fun place to stop for drinks and a song--especially if you're not a karaoke fiend, because the crowd is awesome, the staff is awesome, and the lights aren't so bright :) It's not uncommon that people will start dancing in the little space between stage and bar. Yes. Crescent is THAT awesome. Thank you Cap Hill for nurturing a place like this!

This place is great. Its an open karaoke bar. Definitely come here if you have a free weekend night. It's just a really fun atmosphere to be in. The people that night were great and pretty much sang along or cheered on the singer. I get crazy stage fright, but The Cresent Lounge has such a easy vibe. Even the bouncer that night was approachable!

Cheap drinks, divey divey divey! Good spot for karaoke. Good place to hang. Check it out and see for yourself :-)
