"Chef William Cribb’s first restaurant was Cribbs Kitchen, and it remains a cornerstone of dining and service in Spartanburg. With an enticing cocktail list and a ton of local beer offerings, you may be tempted to hang at the bar, but stay and eat. There’s pear salad, blue cheese-crusted rib eye, giant sandwiches, fried chicken, and a rotating market white fish. The deviled eggs with pork and chimichurri are memorable. A second Cribb’s Kitchen in Moore, South Carolina — also Spartanburg County — is a top spot for lunch in the area." - Stephanie Burnette

I had the opportunity to visit Cribbs Kitchen today with some friends, and we had a pleasant experience. It was surprisingly not busy on this 4th of July as we were seated at a corner table upon walking in. We started off with some deviled eggs that were near perfection. For my entree I chose the Hot Honey fried chicken sandwich with parmesan fries. I enjoyed both but, I would like to offer some constructive criticism. I could have used some more hot honey on the sandwich, and I didn't taste any Tabasco sauce on it. The chicken needed some salt and pepper in the batter. Overall, it was still a good sandwich. The fries were slightly overcooked and could also use some salt or garlic truffle oil. Oh, the dessert special of Carolina pie was a delicious blend of chocolate brownie, cheesecake, and strawberries, and was to die for. The burgers and wraps that my friends had all looked really good, and they praised there deliciousness. I look forward to my next visit, and you should plan a visit for yourself.

Fun Sunday brunch at Spartanburg local favourite. Arrived early before the Sunday church crowd. When we left, people were waiting in line out the door. The food was very tasty and hot. Give a wide variety and large portions. Thank you, Teneya, for such great service. You're a pro. Thank uou Cribbs for honouring Veterans. A must location for Sunday mornings brunch and dates.

We stopped in for lunch after my daughter’s dance competition. We had Cribb Style Burgers, the Philly Cribbsteak & drinks. One of the adult beverages that was served to my SIL (sister in law) had a bug in it that looked like a baby cockroach!!!! They replaced her drink but didn’t comp it or anything else off of the bill. The burgers and Philly Cribbsteak were good. We ate outside on their patio because we had our two small dogs with us. The waitress was kind and accommodating. It was a cute little place to grab some lunch.

I was traveling to through NC and SC visiting customers. Stayed in Spartanburg for the evening before flying out the next morning. I am adamant about visiting local places as much as I can, so a coworker and I picked Cribb’s Kitchen! All I can say, is… “We chose wisely!” Everything was perfect… good pours on our drinks, friendly environment, wide variety on the menu and I even got a little gift for finishing their bottle of Blantons! Jesse was our bartender and waiter. Great guy and he really took good care of us. Service was prompt and he checked in several times to make sure we were happy! I got a specialty burger called the Berry Poppin Smash and my colleague got the Buffalo Chicken Wrap. We both thought our food was fantastic! I will definitely be back when in town again. Thanks

Google
Stopped in yesterday for dinner before the Cole Swindell concert at the baseball stadium. The wedge salad was delicious! Plenty to split between 2-3 people. I got the double patty melt and she got the crab rangoon burger with sweet potato fries. The patty melt was good and really liked the bbq sauce on it. Fries were hot and good. Her burger just wasnt all that great. She didnt care for it either as it had way too much going on. The sweet potato fries were just different and not in a good way. Definitely recommend the wedge though. Service was great.

$12 Woodford rye shots. Liked the Paradise Orchard by Bold Rock (shandy). Pimento cheese balls are really good. Deviled eggs were good. Estella Blue Burger is everything, it slaps! The parm fries are so good they don't even need ketchup.

We decided to stop in here for lunch on our drive and it was a wonderful choice! The staff is extremely friendly and service was great. The Asian noodle salad was something I'll dream about, hands down the best salad I've ever had. I also enjoyed the boiled peanuts, while my husband raved about the wings and mushrooms. Going to make this our stop any time we are driving through Spartanburg.

Yelp
Okay so I totally went thru the wrong door but no worries cause Im not a local, I tend to mess up a bit. I'll remember next time for sure. Cute restaurant in a cute little area. Reminds me of the small towns that have the local cafes where everyone knows everyone. Haha! The breakfast was awesome! I loved the flavors of the fried green tomatoes and it comes with grits on the bottom and some sort of jam I think. This is the best FGT I've ever had actually! I got the bottomless mimosas for $14 since a single is $6 The table across from me were celebrating two birthdays and it was refreshing that the people were so nice and welcoming after I told them happy birthday. Get the pancakes and grits, they were so light and fluffy! 4.7/5 I would definitely return.

Yelp
Traveling for business and staying at the Marriott. Cribs Kitchen is a favorite of a lot of my coworkers. This location is attached to AJ Rockers and across from the AC Hotel. It has a parking lot but it looks like it fills up pretty fast. It's simple inside. Not a lot of decor. Concrete floors wood tables and chairs not a lot of pictures just simple. Which is fine. We had a large party of about 18 so we had 4 servers. That was nice. We started with appetizers. We had wings which were large and good with the Korean bbq. Pimento cheese balls, those were super good. Brussel sprouts about average, and ricotta whip dip which was good but not a large portion. I enjoyed the wings the most then the pimento cheese balls a close 2nd. For dinner we all got different things and most everyone seemed pretty happy. Lots of Salmons which they all seem to enjoy. The BBQ ribs looked good snd seemed very tender. The shrimp and grits got a thumbs up. And the short rib special was huge and I was told was very good. I got the Asian noodle salad. And here is why the score. It was just ok. I did t get a lot of noodles. If noodle is in the title of the dish you should have a ton of noodles. For a noodle salad I thought I would get mostly noodles. But no. Also not a lot of veggies. I got like 2 pieces of broccoli, 2 pieces of cucumber, a few carrot slivers, and lots of romaine. Dressing was good and I liked the crunch of the wontons. And I did get a lot of onions. But I was a bit disappointed at the salad. I also got the hound dog shake for dessert. It was ok. Lots of peanut butter taste but not a lot of banana taste. Also for $7.50 it should be larger or have whip topping and more stuff. I think that's a bit pricey and I wanted something more with it. It's a small to go cup. My company likes to go here so I might return at some point but if it was my choice I'd probably pass.

Yelp
Staying at hotel across the way and wanted something better than the hotel bar offered. Chose a yummy southwestern salad to go. Wonderful portion! Crisp, fresh ingredients. I love a good chipotle ranch dressing and this one was terrific. Service was also top notch and i appreciate not feeling like an inconvenience like some places make a take out order feel. Will possibly go back this week to try a burger.

Yelp
This was a celebration date for my husband and I, celebrating 27 yrs. Of marriage. We originally had prepared to go to another location, but it was a hoodrat joint and it was closed. We ended up here and we were glad that we did. The ambiance was good, the wait staff Thomas was very patient and attentive. We enjoyed our meal and our time together at Cribbs restaurant. We will return, but at earlier time in the day because this place was crowded as all get out! Thank you Thomas for being a great server!

Jennifer T.

Yelp
Good food and reasonable prices! Ask for Sam when you get there! She knows the restaurant inside and out and can assist with your every need!

Christian S.

Yelp
Cribbs was a great time! From the service to the drink and the food, it was a cool vibe. The drinks were really good (10/10) the party melt was also delish (8/10). The fries were hot and fresh - super tasty! The chicken sandwhich was also a good choice! (9/10) & this cheese balls! YUM! (10/10) super cheesy and gooey. The floors could have been swept a little better but other than that Cribbs was a great choice! When I return to the upstate, I look forward to trying more options!

Dave M.

Yelp
Cool spot to hang out, big menu, lots of interesting flavor combos. Had high hopes, but food was just ok. 2 people had burgers, one had a cheese steak, and I had the Pastrami Mommy. It was literally a 3"chunk of corned beef on TX Toast with some aioli, melted Swiss and pickled onions. No peppery pastrami goodness or manageable sliced meat. Both burgers were ok, cheese steak had fried onions on it. Parm fries were good, but I asked for sweet tater fries....

Yelp
Location Mid town Spartanburg-off Main Street Parking Large private lot Seating Bar, inside, outside Service So very friendly! We are new to town and our server could not have been nicer Food and beverage Wide assortment of specialty cocktails. Local beers. Fantastic wines-I had an AWESOME Sauvignon blanc-passion fruit and grapefruit. Loosey goosey-I think. Yum! We split the roasted Brussel sprouts-loaded with blue cheese, crisp bacon pieces, pecans! So good! Summary Great location, lots to chose from-something from r everyone! A local recommended it!

Leilani B.

Yelp
First time coming here in awhile and It was ehh. My ribs were good but the deviled eggs and restaurant week plates my parents got were just okay. Will be sticking to their burgers and sandwiches.

Thomas C.

Yelp
Food wasn't very good. The entire experience wasn't great. My fiancé and I just moved here and are trying to experience and try all new places. This place wasn't anything special and I wouldn't recommend. The service was okay. The theme I don't understand. They have the bar and tvs but have the kitchen shown to the floor like in fine dining. The food was below average. I had the pastrami. I would recommend going to smoking butts instead.

James M.

Yelp
Great service, clean surroundings, amazing food and presentation! Had the Philly and never had a better sandwich!

Kristy O.

Yelp
Great service and amazing burgers! I enjoyed the shrimp and grits too!! They accommodated our large party well.

Yelp
Visiting some eateries in Spartanburg this week and tried Cribbs kitchen. It's a nice casual place with a great selection of beer and wine. I ordered the crab and salmon roll. The menu stated that it came with 1 side. So I ordered the sweet potato fries. The waitress informed me there was an up charge for the sweet potato fries. This surprised me since there was no mention of this on the menu. The roll was very good, juicy with lots of salmon and crab. The fries were good as well. Crispy without being over cooked. I recommend you try this place if you haven't already. Also, I suggest they update the info on their menu.

He Said She Said ..

Yelp
He Said: After a less-than-favorite visit nearby we rallied and popped in to Cribbs after 8pm. This was great timing as there were bar seats open and things were winding down a bit after a packed dinner hour. That said, the atmosphere was great and there was no lull in service. They have a very good beer selection across the board and still had Celebration on tap in January. Sweet! The bartender (and beer orderer it seems) was awesome and great to chat with while he wasn't busy with others. A great experience all around. She Said: We ordered a cheesesteak to share with french fries on the side. The meat was nicely cooked, and Cribbs put their own mark on a classic cheesesteak by adding a slight barbecue flavor. The bun on which it was served was fresh and held up well throughout my meal. The mushrooms that we got on the side were tasty and firm. The french fries were really really good. They were crispy on the outside and creamy/potato-y on the inside. Potty Points: No trip to the potty for me this time.

Bill R.

Yelp
Went here for dinner and had wonderful meals. Our party had Burgers, chicken sandwich, salad with shrimp. Great beer menu too. Waitress was friendly, helpful (with a parking concern), and quick. Recommended.

Carol C.

Yelp
Horrible service and the food is ok. The ambiance was ok and the cost was a little high for what we got.

Edmund O.

Yelp
I hate to leave a bad review. If you only order fries an a desert, they fries should be fresh out the fryer. My fries was warm and you can tell they was cooked maybe a hour ago. The service was great an the peach dessert was really good. I recommend going to Main Street Pub their food was perfect!

Gil G.

Yelp
This was our first time. We went based on Yelp and Eater reviews. Our experience was "meh." Two of us ordered our burgers medium rare. Both were way overcooked when delivered. Pretty much well-done. One of us ordered the smash burger, but that isn't really what was delivered. It was just two thinner patties (a double burger). One of us had a salad and said it was good, but not exceptional. The pimento cheese balls were very nice. The service was weak. Bottom Line? It satisfied our needs but not well enough to return for another visit.

Lindsay G.

Yelp
Shyenne is a true asset to the Cribbs Family in Duncan! Always happy and friendly. We are local who loves the vibes of the bar. Beer is cold and food is fresh.

Heather E.

Yelp
Been here three times and everything has been fantastic. The service, the drink selection and food have been amazing!

Nancy W.

Yelp
Food was great! Awesome lunch. And good service. Nice decor. Recommended. Chicken Salad Sandwich

Kelly D.

Yelp
The atmosphere is welcoming and inclusive to all. My food did not disappoint. I had a crab and salmon sandwich. It was chopped full of crab and salmon. Along side it I had the mushrooms that are packed with flavors. Staff is friendly and very attentive. My fiancé had a burger and potato salad. He loved the potato salad. Don't forget to get pimento fritters to start.

Denise B.

Yelp
We arrived around 5pm and they were pretty empty. Our waiter took our drink orders and I ordered a tea half sweet and half unsweetened. My drink arrived in a small glass, but some nicer restaurants use them so I brushed it off, until I took a sip. it tasted like kerosene. he brought me a Tito's and tea. What? Then when the food arrived it looked tasty, but the cheesesteak was half inedible grizzle. when we told our waiter (we were actually done eating by the time he checked on us) he said he would tell "them". Never another word and we paid and left. He did not even offer an apology and we never saw a manager. Don't know what happened to this restaurant but it is not for the better.

Suzanne P.

Yelp
What more can I say.. food - delicious.. service on point! We both had salads today and they were plentiful and prepared perfect! We shared my favorite appetizer of pimento cheese balls that were prepared fried to perfection!! I could eat those everyday! The Cribb family just knows how to do it right! Thankful they are in Spartanburg!

Geri M.

Yelp
Good service and good food. Went for a family outing. The ribs were delicious. The mac and cheese and the pimento cheese fritters were excellent.

Michael B.

Yelp
I absolutely love this restaurant and the amount of seating available. My server Rillie, was great she is highly attentive and the attention given my order was exceptional. I was short on time with a hair appointment for my lady friend. I asked if they would be able to accommodate (get is out quickly). With a bright smile Rillie said yes with out blinking. We even ordered a meal to go for my daughters working at The Industry Hair Salon. The meal was well seasoned, every aspect of the burgers and toppings came through, moist and tender. The fries were crispy with a pillow like center. Even the Arnold Palmer is perfectly balanced between lemonade and tea again!

Annie D.

Yelp
This place was great! They had a great menu with lots of options. I tried the buffalo cauliflower appetizer and enjoyed it even though I don't like cauliflower. I got the pork belly burger for my entree but requested the wasabi aioli and slaw on the side. The burger was delicious and the glaze it had was a nice touch. I got a side of Parmesan fries and those were tasty! I was here for a work lunch but would definitely return if I'm in the area again!

Mark M.

Yelp
Excellent service and even better food & drink. Easy Parking, always a positive experience.

Melissa W.

Yelp
Amina was prompt, courteous and attentative. Food was fantastic!! This is one restaurant my sister and I would like to make our way through the menu! A sampling of everything. Parking lot is full...keep that in mind. We will be back!

Adam T.

Yelp
We had the absolute best experience here. From the instant we walked in, the service was exceptionally friendly and attentive. We love the outdoor patio area, and better still is the menu. Not only does Cribbs have the best burgers in the Upstate, but they serve a really great selection of comfort food favorites with a twist. The pimento cheese fritters are irresistible, I love seeing a play on a Cuban with smoked pork, and I'm glad our server recommended the cheesecake for dessert. I'm normally not even into cheesecake, but this was to die for. This was our first visit, and we'll definitely be back again soon.

Kaitlyn N.

Yelp
Just the Dip: 9/10 Jamiepoo burger: 5.9/10 Stella Blue: 8/10 Cribb burger: 6/10 Chocoflan: 6.8/10 CK Cheesecake: 8/10 I would come again for the appetizer and desert!

Yelp
Still traveling and currently in Spartanburg, SC. With a little help from YELP.... we stopped downtown at Cribbs Kitchen. We stepped inside to find a very clean, open, upbeat restaurant with a bar. Staff was very friendly. Outside eating was available but we selected inside at the bar. Jesse, our Bartender, met us with a smile and asked what we'd like to drink. Offered menus right away. He was very friendly and helpful with my beer selection. We ordered the Cribbs Hamburger.... With sweet potato fries. The burger was served on an Hawaiian Sweet bun. How much better can it get ? .... Fabulous !! It truly was the best burger we've had.. .. in a long time. Full of flavor and cooked to perfect temp.....Med-rare. This Chef got it right. Absolutely, perfect !!! Sweet potatoes were nicely done too. Crispy on outside while being "fluffy" on the inside. Delicious!! Highly recommended if you're in the Downtown Spartanburg area.

Mia J.

Yelp
Best place I haves so far in Spartanburg area besides level ten! The cook not sure if he actually went to culinary school but he's got it!! If they let him do his own menu this place can be the talk of the upstate!! Also add goat cheese balls!

Kerry R.

Yelp
My husband and I stopped in for lunch while traveling through. Sandwiches were delicious and service was outstanding. Highly recommend trying this place out!!

Loren S.

Yelp
Had a couple beers and a burger. Nice selection of beers on tap and the specialty drinks looked great. The burgers that we had were delicious. Service was friendly and gave great recommendations think his name was Ryan. This is located right across the street from the AC Hotel. We will be returning during our short stay.

Lauren G.

Yelp
Great service, amazing & delicious food every time. The atmosphere is very nice too. I go here regularly when I can

Kristi B.

Yelp
I was in town for work and looking for a good place to have dinner. Yelp suggested this location and given that it had four out of five star reviews I decided to check it out. I arrived around 6 PM on a Thursday evening and was greeted promptly and seated in the bar area. The bartender, Bri, greeted me and explained their offerings to me. She was absolutely amazing! I never felt neglected or left out even though she was prepping drinks for the entire restaurant. I opted for the crispy brussels sprouts and the shrimp and grits. The brussels sprouts were delicious nice and crispy with blue cheese crumble and was delicious. The shrimp and grits were also really good. The grits were creamy and have a nice cheese flavoring to them but I really appreciated the spicy sauce the shrimp had been cooked in as it gave it a little bit of kick to go with the creaminess of the grits.

Amy D.

Yelp
Love Cribbs Kitchen!! Everything I have had here has been great. The pear salad is absolutely amazing!

Kayla B.

Yelp
Idk if it's just me but I feel like I'm in a scene of get out sitting in this restaurant. If anybody else has that same feeling hit me up and let's chat the salad was pretty good but the vibes just weren't there

Edwina R.

Yelp
I recommend the Black Bean Burger, I'm striving to get away from beef and I was told that the Black Bean burger was close enough to the real thing. OMG it was so delicious, it looked and tasted better than the traditional burger. Awesome. My hate off to the chef.

L Q Jr. R.

Yelp
Great food and a good price we will visit this place again Pimento Cheese FrittersBuffalo Chicken Wrap

Marina M.

Yelp
Food was outstanding! Shared crunchy Brussel sprouts and they were delicious! Pork chop had great presentation with the creamed collard puree and the chop could be cut with a butter knife. The belly dancer burger was amazing with melt in your mouth pork belly! Service was superb, Trent was friendly, professional, and always there at the right time without being intrusive. The place was casual but nice, a pleasant rustic style.

April H.

Yelp
Found everything to be average. Parking was not great but also not the worst. Service was slow and all of the employee we came in contact with were not very friendly. Good beer list. We started with the pimento cheese fritters and they were good. We each had a burger and found them to be average, nothing special or unique about them. Not worth the hype.

Rodger B.

Yelp
Let me start by saying that the one star rating isn't based on the quality of the food, but moreso the service and overall functionality of the restaurant as a whole. We had a group of three who came in around 1pm for lunch on. Saturday. We were working a basketball tournament and were taking our lunch breakand needed to be to another gym by 2:15 (it was 15 min drive). The restaurant was busy, but not THAT busy, as we were seated immediately. We ordered two burgers and a salad, with both of the burgers being cooked medium. With my two friends and I all having previously worked in industry as servers/bartenders, we know that times can get busy. This, however, was beyond belief. As it approaches a 40 minute ticket time, we had to ask our server what was going on. He went to "check" and gave us zero explanation while not seeming to be too concerned about us having to go back to work. He then had a female manager come over to give an insincere apology to us, but we weren't offered an appetizer or anything and we had already surpassed 50 minutes by this point. At one hour, after seeing others who came after is being served before us, we'd had enough. We simply closed out our bill and tipped preemptively before receiving our food to do AS MUCH as we could to somewhat cue them to expedite the process. Finally, after an hour and 15 minutes, our food arrived. Burger was very good (4 stars), as were the parmesan fries. You can tell that they definitely tell that they use high quality ingredients and upon finally receiving the food, it was cooked to perfection. The reason that we will all not be returning is not just the absurdly low speed of service, but also the disingenuous behavior of the server/manager. Stuff like this happens. You can offer a discount, an appetizer, or simply better service to merely being top of refills. None of these happened and it was actually the inverse effect, as it seemed as if they avoided us until our food finally came out. This is absolutely why Cribb's lost three customers (two of which were quite loyal) and will lose every other one who asks us about them.

Marlene B.

Yelp
The food and service has everything you would want for a dining out experience. I am a major fan of all the Cribbs establishments- my first go to when going to a restaurant in Spartanburg- never disappointed. Marlene B.

Carl K.

Yelp
The family visited Wofford this weekend and had lunch here. Everyone was able to get anything their pallet wanted. Great menu and the food is good as well.

Seyla T.

Yelp
Came here for late dinner on a Tuesday night. It wasn't too busy and we were seated immediately. Service was top notch the night we came - we had Josh and he was fantastic. I had ordered my usual, Spring Street with potato salad. I will say that the potato salad doesn't look to be the same as it used to be and there weren't many potatoes in my serving. It still tasted good but wished I had more potatoes in mine as it was mainly onions and I believe celery? The sandwich was delicious and I was happy with my side of pickles too

Jeff B.

Yelp
Cribbs Kitchen gets 5 stars for the food and the service. They went out of their way to accommodate us with outside dining with our dogs while their patio was booked by a company for an event. Then there's the food. Absolutely delicious. I had the Shrimp and Grits based on our server's recommendation. It may be the best I've ever had. The other two people in our party both ordered the Pear Salad and raved about how good it was. For dessert we had the Cheesecake, and it was also amazing. We drove one hour from Travelers Rest SC and it was worth every mile. (Actually we drove from Texas, and it was worth a lot of those miles as well!)

Justin S.

Yelp
It's been a while since I've been to Cribbs, which is a Spartanburg institution (or was). I'm sorry to report that, like many Spartanburg institutions, this place seems to have gone downhill. We ordered the deviled eggs as an appetizer, an easy dish for a southern eatery, but they managed to screw it up. They lay the eggs (very small, local sourced eggs) in what amounts to a vat of chimichurri sauce, which completely wrecks the flavor of the deviled egg. I agree with them that they are "not Grandma's deviled eggs." I ventured away from past favorites to order the $20 Ribeye Sandwich, and what arrived at the table was just an utter disaster of a sandwich. First it was too big, there's no way to eat it without taking it apart. Secondly, the smoke flavor was too overpowering, almost like it was doused in "liquid smoke" to get the smoke flavor. Thirdly, it is sitting on a bed of arugula and something else that literally made me gag when I took a bite of the sandwich. It was legit terrible, and has left me feeling a bit sick. Lastly, the "crispy" onions became a melted mess into what was just an utter disaster of a sandwich. The waitress did offer to swap it out but I said no. I was not offered my money back ($18 for the monstrosity). My kids enjoyed their burgers, however 2 of them ordered egg on top, and the egg came overcooked and not runny whatsoever, a staple of any good "crowned" burger. All of our fries were not great, half were overcooked. The fries were disappointing because they have been a staple of this Spartanburg institution. It pains me to leave such a negative review of what's been a go-to in Spartanburg, but simply too much was wrong for it to be an off night.
