We visited Crockers recently for lunch in Tring.
The food was absolutely delicious—beautifully presented and full of flavour. The chefs are clearly incredibly talented and have an excellent palate. The lunch menu was really well priced for the ingredients and cookery.
The restaurant generously kept our table when we were running late. The staff were friendly and kind, however could have been more attentive checking if there was anything we needed and offering more drinks. The non-alcoholic cocktails were really well made.
The dining experience could have been elevated further if the atmosphere of the main restaurant matched the high standard of the cuisine. The interiors and lighting, in my opinion, didn’t quite complement the quality and style of the dishes. Some thoughtful updates—such as upgrading the tables and chairs, introducing some mood or lower level lighting, refreshing the artwork to suit the restaurant’s theme, and reupholstering the banquet seating (a neutral coloured fabric or an interesting print)—would make a big difference. A more neutral wall colour in the main restaurant could also help create a warm, inviting ambiance and brighten the space. I think these changes would be worth the investment given how high the standard of the food is.
