Crooked Run Fermentation Review - Union Market - Washington DC - The Infatuation

"If you’ve never been to Crooked Run Fermentation, this is your sign to go find the brewery that's hidden on the corner of Union Market. You’re almost guaranteed to get a seat at long family-style tables of the Virginia-based brewery, which is as popular for dates as it is with families. Crooked Run is one of the only breweries in the US making beer that adheres to traditional Belgian Iambic specifications, which will really thrill the beer nerd in your friend group (less so the rest of you). Still, their brews are locally inspired like the Drupulet, a framboise-style sour made with Virginia-grown raspberries and malted barley. Crooked Run is a great place to stop in before grabbing dinner elsewhere in the market, but their thick, doughy pizzas are not to be missed." - Madeline Weinfield

20 Essential Breweries Around D.C.

"Crooked Run, which started with Virginia taprooms in Sterling and Leesburg, opened a D.C. taproom near Union Market in early 2023. The inventive brewing program categorizes beers into categories like new releases (lucky customers might encounter Sticky Rice, a Berliner Weisse made with mango, coconut and rice milk), traditional, hoppy and fruity and sour. The kitchen operates as Pizza Serata, helmed by Michelin-starred chef Chris Morgan (Maydan)." - Travis Mitchell, Tierney Plumb

The Next Big Release for Virginia’s Crooked Run Brewing? Low-Intervention Wine. - Eater DC

"Crooked Run Brewing will start serving two bottles of its own wine — a rosé and a Merlot piquette, a low-ABV sparkling wine — at its Sterling location this weekend. The brewery has been making mixed fermentation sours and saisons using local fruit and began incorporating grapes during the pandemic. Crooked Run is also bringing in grapes from local wineries like Walsh Family Wines, Stone Tower Winery, and Fabbioli Cellars. The brewery aims to cater to customers who might not be into beer by adding its own wine label and plans to sell wine by the bottle for consumption on or off the premises." - Chelsea Cirruzzo

Google
Definitely worth a stop which also has an attached taco joint and a restaurant next door. Impressive number of beers on tap that were unique and covering the spread between light to dark. Recommend a flight to try their wide variety. Found some of their sours to be pretty tasty. Cans are also available for purchase.

One of the many breweries located somewhat around the Dulles Airport area. This one's in a business park in a space shared with a taqueria. Food smelled good, but didn't get any. The Alora (Italian pilsner) and Best Days (Hefeweizen) were both tasty. Beer size choice is 12 or 20 oz. Indoor/outdoor seating. Close your eyes, and one of their beertenders sounds just like comedian-musician Reggie Watts. Sticker selection is good.

Google
Pretty neat place. Its a little awkward and confusing at first if you've never been to a place like this. You can sit at the bar, or a table. You can order drinks from the bar, and also food from the taco place connected to it. At a certain time, a door opens and you can get pizza and cocktails/wine. Bit you can also get pizza at the bar. Overall, good food and great selection of wonderful tasting brews. Will return.

Google
A smooth grooves spot with attached taco joint. I was impressed by the number of beers on tap that were unique and covering the spread between light to dark; too accustomed maybe to getting pigeon-holed into several very similar beers: not here! It doesn't get much better.

Google
Beers are good. I was impressed they had a non alcoholic lager "peak" on tap that they said was made in house, was very excited for that, usually I'm stuck ordering a canned n/a option, awesome!

I've visited here twice so far with friends for the Profs & Pints lecture series and we all enjoyed ourselves. This place has a great vibe and a variety of food and drink options. In my experience, the bartenders have been super friendly. I'm hoping to swing by for karaoke eventually, I have a friend who attends weekly and it seems like a great time.

A quaint and little hidden brewery in Sterling, with outdoor seating, great customer service and good tasting brews, not to mention they have food vendors inside Tacos, Empanadas, Pizza and the wings are to die for!!! Something for everyone. Themed nights Wed-Friday. Karaoke, Mic and trivia. A perfect place to stop in, have a few, bring a group or solo for a quick bite or just chill and relax and have a beer or 4. Good vibe place. Love it here, my go to pub! Bar staff is cool, down to earth and very friendly. Don’t think about it, just come!

Google
We really liked the place and the beer. They have a large rotating seasonal selection. Enjoyed talking to the staff. There is a nice large shaded patio to relax on. Bonus, attached is a taco place which was really good and another place for food behind them. You can also walk over inside to Nectar, a stylish cocktail bar with good mixed drinks.

Yelp
I can't think of a better way to spend a spring day in Virginia than sipping brews under a giant magnolia tree with friends. Crooked Run Fermentation truly has a little bit of something for everyone. - The boy loved: Street tacos from Senor Ramon's + IPAs - The kids loved: Cheesy, bacony tater tots + outdoor seating - I loved: The fact that my kids enjoyed their time so I can enjoy my Sticky Rice Sour (Mango + Coconut) in peace Also on site is Daybreak, a cute little biscuit shop dishing out amazing looking biscuits and a cocktail bar. It looks like they do a lot of community programming such as live music, bingo, visits with the Easter bunny and more. I'll definitely be back!

Yelp
I'm getting so sick of these pop up crappy beer breweries in Loudoun and beyond- frankly the food sucks the beer sucks and you have to endure horrible loud music- it has gotten to the point I don't want to out to breweries anymore so when my friend said he wanted to go to Crooked Run - I died a little inside. Omg was I wrong. The beer was sensational and the tacos? Amazing! Moreover Crooked Run apparently didn't hire staff from Dicks R Us talent agency like literally every other brewery- they were nice and holy shit- welcoming. Never would I think I'd say this but I'm looking forward to going back.

Yelp
Had a fun charity Bingo Night supporting I-ASC (International Association for Spelling to Communicate)! Enjoyed the pumpkin ale, hoping autumn finally comes soon! Great bartenders, great selection, and a fun jovial atmosphere. Not too bad for a Wednesday!

Yelp
Beer: B+ They have a good variety of IPAs and sours. I've had a lot of Crooked One beers, and most of them are above average to excellent. Venue: B- situated in an industrial park, not much for views, but they've done the best they can with a large outdoor seating area. They have combined their space with the restaurant bar next store, so the inside is a lot bigger. There is a stage for live music, full bar, and a couple different food options to pick from. Not sure if the inside is dog friendly, but I've seen dogs on the patio area. They are kid tolerant, but the kids will be bored. Last time I was there, they added two arcade games to the tasting rooms. They also host some cool theme nights. Bring Your Own Vinyl is a fun one. Food: B there is a taco stand inside the brewery. It is good, but I feel it's a little expensive for the small portion sizes. A better bet is to go next store to the biscuit place.

Yelp
Met up with my childhood friend and went to this brewery that he always wanted to go to. Local brewskis, they do have IPAs so I'm all over that. There is a food place next to it and had some tacos as well. Busy like a Friday afternoon on a Tuesday, so you know the locals like it!

Yelp
Great beers, nice location. Service here was great! Did not have any food from here but the menu from Daybreak looked really good.

Yelp
We met some friends here for a drink and dinner. The location wasn't hard to find and the Mexican food was satisfying. I would plan on going back!

Yelp
Fun night this past Saturday, place was packed with Berlin Calling doing 80s, and it was a real party with many grooving to the 80s music! Place is both a brewery and cocktail bars and Señor Ramon tacos available as well as regular bar food! Staff was friendly and though the dance floor was tight it had a friendly easy going crowd. We were lucky to get a high table in the center near front with high chairs so we had vantage point of the band and room overall! It was our second night celebrating a birthday weekend with visiting NC friends and this place truly culminated the weekend with a bang! I'm giving 5 stars because the band was an added bonus and we had fun!

Yelp
Awesome brewery a short drive from Dulles. + early hours + on site food + plenty of indoor and outdoor seating + nice variety of sours, IPAs, seltzers, stouts + Hemingway Empress sour was super tasty! - no flights - 6 oz. Pours were kinda pricy if you made your own "flight" - no stickers available - line to get beers was pretty long on a Thursday afternoon

Steven R.

Yelp
Great beer, phenomenal beer garden. The service excellent. Great food at Señor Ramones. I can not say better things about this establishment!!!

Yelp
We enjoy going to Crooked Run because it has lots of options for anyone in your party. There is beer, cider, and hand crafted cocktails. If you're looking for food, you can grab biscuits or traditional American fare from Wayback Biscuits, or you can grab some delicious tacos, tostadas, or empanadas from Senor Ramon's. The Brussels sprouts at Wayback could use about a quarter of the mayo-based dressing on them...or none at all. The tacos and tostadas are consistently good from Senor Ramon's. Nectar, the cocktail bar, has some great craft cocktails and a daily special. I loved the Sangrias and mules. They also often have live music and tap takeovers. We love the variety of beers, and I'm a fan of their hazy IPAs. My kids also enjoy going here because there are options for them and lively environment that doesn't have them easily bored. There are lots of indoor and outdoor seating options. We will keep going back and brining friends.

Yelp
4/5 Multiple visits, 2019-Present. I wasn't impressed with Crooked Run on my first visit but since I've been happy to see that either I was wrong or the beer has gotten much better. Both are possibilities but I've been quite impressed with many of selections from them for a few years now. They've added a couple eat in options for food and expanded quite a bit. Would definitely recommend checking it out.
google avatar

Yelp
Would probably have given them five stars if not for the uninterested guy behind the bar. He was grumpy, didn't want to field any questions and seemed irritated that they were so busy so early in the day. Beers were very solid and the taco counter in the same room is sooo convenient. Will be back and would suggest to anyone looking for trying out breweries in the area.
google avatar

Jisoo B.

Yelp
Really like they have a variety of brews to include fruity concoctions like Raspberry Empress and Herrington (?). I am a flights girl because big beers fill me up too much and I like the variety; and when I asked they told me they don't offer any. Then I saw a guy with smaller flight like beers in his hands (had 2 different small beers) and when I asked him he said those were apparently called 'half-pours' and that's what I was supposed to order. I was a little turned off the staff bartenders not offering me to order this. Hey if I'm asking for a flight but you don't have any then you should offer me the closest size you have to flights, which is called half-pours here. Reasonable, right? Anyway, the beers are tasty and their taquerias serves up the awesome tacos so I am not too made but in case you wondering why it's not. Full 5 stars, that's why.

Yelp
Came here for happy hour with some co-workers and found a place I love and will definitely be back. A brewery, a full bar with mixed drinks, and other delicious drinks to sample. Two eateries, a taco place, and a biscuit company. Plenty of seating both inside and out and a stage with live music. Fun place, not too loud at least while we were there, but it wasn't super crowded on a Wednesday afternoon. A short drive from work and from home. I'll definitely be back. Lots of drinks to sample, even though I'm not a big drinker. Tried a Strawberry Mango Hard Seltzer, that tasted more like a smoothie but it was good and flavorful. Tried a friend's Moscow mule and margarita, which were both good. Like I said, not a big drinker, but I will come back to sample the sangria, maybe a light local beer, and some other drink specials that sounded good. Senior Ramon is the taco place. I grabbed a Carne Asada taco and a Carnitas taco and both were good and very reasonably priced. All in all, a great meal, great drinks, and great company. Highly recommend and I will definitely be back.

Yelp
This place is so much fun and simple. Beers and tacos. Seriously? What else? They have music and game nights. Indoors, they have music and TVs. Outside, there are fire pits and picnic tables. The variety of beer is great. They have it all. The van designs are stellar. If you don't want a beer, go to the nectar bar next door. They are attached. It's a fun relaxing environment.

Yelp
Always enjoy coming to Crooked Run for a beverage, sometimes for the tacos and nachos or for the biscuits at Daybreak. The beer selection is always pretty wide and varied, and I like that they have almost-weekly new releases. You'll find everything from easy pils, to hoppy IPAs, to fruited sours, to specialty milk-stouts and high ABV stuff if you like that. I do think there is a distinct piney-ness that runs throughout CR's styles, so it may or may not to everyone's personal liking. The staff has always been cool and friendly, and I love the low-key vibe. Have had some great conversations with other customers there if I'm not camped out catching up on some reading or meeting up with friends. Check it out if you're in the area!

Yelp
Found this place on a list of Loudoun County breweries and reviews looked pretty good so we headed to Sterling. Building looks a little like an office building from the outside and they have a decent amount of parking around. There's a limited amount of seating inside but outside there are a bunch of tables even a large tent. The ordering lines got long with how busy it was but I guess that's expected for Saturday. We ordered the Sticky Rice, the Strawberry Watermelon Swirl, the Raspberry Empress, the Minted, and the Proper. We really loved the Sticky Rice, and tastes pretty close to the actual thing, great tropical flavors. Nice and refreshing. My girlfriend really liked the Strawberry Watermelon swirl. It's the most unique hard seltzer and one of the best tasting ones as well. Minted was a nice heavy stout but I got a good amount of peppermint and mint in it, made it a little refreshing. Raspberry Empress was a nice middle between sour and IPA. The Proper was ok, your nice standard lager. Love the selection at this place and the option of both Senor Ramon and Daybreak for food so you could spend a while here, especially on a nice day. I'll be coming back next time in Sterling.

Yelp
Delicious beers -- Best Days will be your best choice -- and Brooke the awesome bartender will find the perfect pairing for every karaoke song next door :).
google avatar

Ang K.

Yelp
A lot of changes outside since the last time I came here with plenty of outdoor seating across 3 places. The brewery has a connecting hall to the brunch place next door. Staff were nice. Beer was good. A few tables inside available.
google avatar

Jemily H.

Yelp
Bought some awesome brews to try at home- Overall; sadly very unimpressed with the dine in/sit outside set up...Senor Ramon there seems run down and not fresh. I was going to order and the lady said "wait" like wait for what??? Nothing like the senor ramon in chantilly. Honestly just go somewhere else or order pick up.
google avatar

Jason J.

Yelp
Did I have a good time here? "Yes." Was I impressed with the "beer" here? "Not really." Of all the flights I've had recently . . . . this just wasn't my thing . . . . but the place was pretty busy . . . . so maybe it's yours. (And "yes" I understand what sours are. I stand by my 3 stars . . . . and the third star was added because of the tacos (which get 5 stars on their own.) That said, the atmosphere is laid back, you can get Senior Ramon tacos (which were great), and there were Girl Scouts selling cookies, which was an added bonus. Come for the tacos and laid back atmosphere, decide about the beer for yourself.

Yelp
Great spot. On Monday nights, they have open mic night from 6-9 (so it's not even super late). They have tacos and snacks available along with beer, specials and wine. Entertainment and food is great. They have an outside where you can sit at picnic tables with pretty lights up. The place is kid friendly so take the kiddos. I've definitely seen very young babies, and I took my toddler. She loved the music also. Definitely recommend.
google avatar

Victor H.

Yelp
Nothing crooked about this spot, probably my favorite brewery in Northern VA. It's a place where there's beers, tacos, live music, outdoor seating, who's gonna hate? With those amazing amenities, they all rock. Of course you're here for beer and do they have some great ones. The go to for me is the Heart & Soul for IPAs and the Raspberry Espress for fruity sensations. They also have a pecan beer which is sweet and strong (16%). Try to stay upright after that! Señor Ramon Taquera is next to the brewery inside; a nice touch for great beer. They serve some badass tacos and Mexican bites making this brewery even more must visit for out of towners and locals. Beer and tacos is as American as beer and tacos! Outdoor seating is avail with benches and patio furniture giving a Biergarten atmosphere. And there's live music on certain days. However they sound, they're much better after throwing a few brews back. My advice to you is run like a crook to this spot and see how a LoCo brewery does it's thing!

Meaghan G.

Yelp
Awesome place. Has everything you could ask for food or drink wise. Has enough seating for big and large groups. I was just passing by town and it was a great stop for a short time. Tacos are kinda small so be prepared to get multiple. Seems like a well run place
google avatar

VyVy V.

Yelp
The location can be a little hard to find (we made a wrong turn originally) since it's located in an office building area. The indoor space doesn't have a ton of seating but I liked that they had outdoor picnic tables for the warmer months! The beer selection wasn't bad either. They offered flights but after trying a couple samples, I wanted to get a full glass instead. They share the space with Senor Ramon's so if you're hungry, you can also order food!

Patrick B.

Yelp
Great service. IPA's we're too light, floral, and farm house style for my liking. Good atmosphere and prices.

Yelp
Love this brewery. Amazing selection of beer & they partner with a great taco place. I enjoyed their fruity beers and the tacos. On top of great food/drinks, they allow dogs in the outdoor area. Totally loved this brewery. We will be coming back.

Yelp
The food is amazing! Had the Al Pastor Tostadas and they were delicious. Good selection of beer and a chill place to vibe out. Definitely recommend.

Yelp
Okay let me first just say, as someone who lived in the area, I wished I knew about this place sooner !! I am not a huge beer fan but they had delicious seltzers and I loved how there was plenty of open out door seating for COVID precautions AND you can bring your dogs here !! I came here with a. Friend and our dogs and it was so nice. The bartenders were also so friendly. I will definitely coming back here (:
google avatar

Yelp
Crooked Run Brewery is one of my favorite breweries in the area, not only because they have an amazing selection of beers but you can also get Mexican food! My FAVORITE beer is the WRATH OF PECANS - it's a Barleywine/American 16% ABV!!! It has amazing favors of pecans and caramel! The "Inspired By That Same French Excellence" is a unique IPA. It taste like French Champagne mixed with a little berry/melon flavor. There is FREE WiFi. The brewery is also located near a trail if you are biking in the area. I highly recommend you try this brewery!
google avatar

Catherine M.

Yelp
Pretty nice brewery, in the typical warehouse-ish area. The inside is small however it shares seating with the next door brunch spot so you can find indoor seating in either. They have a decent little outdoor spot, with most of it being covered from the rain. Service was pretty quick and they have quite a few selections of sours, IPAs, etc. I got one of their new cans that was advertised as a 'slushie' however it was a canned seltzer (mango and strawberry flavored) that was pretty decent but wish it was actually a slushee like I thought :( They have an amazing food spot on site as well!

Yelp
I visited Crooked Run Brewing at their newer Sterling, VA location on a Sunday afternoon. I've been to the Leesburg, VA location previously. There is a lot more seating space at the Sterling location. As I was approaching the location - I was thinking - "wait a minute - this is almost exactly the same way we came last time to visit Rocket Frog Brewing." And sure enough - Crooked Run Brewing is in the next building over from the building that houses Rocket Frog Brewing! You can walk from one to the other - and hit both craft breweries - 1-2! The place was packed when I arrived - and a little to noisy for my tastes - there was a live band performing outside - and they had the volume cranked! I ordered a tasting flight of five brews - and sat at the side bar along the wall - which was really the only place left open to sit. I sampled the follow brews: Cruise Control Pilsner (5% ABV) (2.75 stars on Untappd) Heart and Soul IPA (6.5% ABV) (4.25 stars on Untappd) Without You IPA (6.5% ABV) (3.75 stars on Untappd) Double Vibes Berliner Weisse (5% ABV) (2.5 stars on Untappd) Raspberry Empress Sour Ale (6% ABV) (2.0 stars on Untappd) I'm not a fan of Pilsner style beers in general, but the Cruise Control was a nice drinkable Pils - especially for a hot summer day. I very much enjoyed the Heart and Soul IPA. The Mosaic hops were delicious! Loved the bitter finish. The Without You IPA was good too. The two sour ales were less successful for my palate. Overall, a nice craft brewery location! We will be back again! #CrookedRunBrewing

Yelp
This is my first time at Crooked Run and it was absolutely stellar. The beer was lovely, I am not a beer person but it was not too strong or harsh. The service was really great, Michael was so kind and attentive. My glass was never empty, and he offered me loads of recommendations that matched my palette. He was also very knowledgeable with European wines and beers which helped immensely. I am definitely grateful for the experience, because now I consider myself a beer person. Cheers Michael, greatly appreciate you.

Yelp
I love crooked! They added outdoor seating and it like tripled how many people can come drink! Covid procedures are 10/10 They don't have many sours right now but raspberry empress and a 9% sour ale called Ambrosia Apocalypse which is my new favorite. Taste like s'mores and beer!!!
google avatar

lauren s.

Yelp
Absolutely amazing beers! I love all of their fruits and sours. The staff is so sweet and there to help. Recent releases like ambrosia and only stuck are my new favs

Yelp
This place is very cool! Brewery with a taqueria inside and next door (but you can access from the brewery) is a biscuit shop that serves biscuit sandwiches, waffles, etc. And a cocktail bar! A great place to spend an afternoon with friends and trying the different vendors. There is some outdoor space to enjoy the weather when its nice. Specifically came for brewery and was pleasantly surprised by the other vendors that were so accessible. But unfortunately I was very underwhelmed by Crooked Run's beer. I tried a flight which had 5 options. Maybe 1 out of the 5 I would try again. The after tastes of most of the beers were very strange. Not a fan. I would totally come back though and give them another chance and try the other vendors as well. Plenty of parking, but was crowded on a Sunday afternoon.

Yelp
Biked along the wod trail and tried Crooked Run for the first time. Absolutely loved the vibes and beer here! Plus I loved that there was a good selection of different kinds of beers and there were two other food establishments right next to it. They released a "smoothie beer" called Tropic and it's a strawberry mango flavored IPA that has a slightly thicker viscosity but still smooth like a nice refreshing beer. We purchased a few cans to go and it was amazing to enjoy at home. They also have some fresh farm meats to purchase and artwork from a local artist on their walls available for purchase. Loved the vibe here - definitely will be back!

Yelp
Really great Carnitas... The way the restaurants and pubs are all connected it's really cool there is also a great place for brunch next-door.

Yelp
May 11-17 was American Craft Beer Week, a fact I learned about on Twitter. I asked the Twitterverse for recs on local breweries to check out in honor of American Craft Beer Week who were doing curbside pickup, and Crooked Run was a resounding favorite. They do offer pandemic pickup at the curb, which is awesome and a bit of a misnomer as you just drive up and they put it in your car, so you don't even have to get out or go inside a brewery, which feels safe. The not-as-awesome is that you have to call to order rather than doing anything online. It makes it hard to know what to order because you don't really know what they still have. They do have a curbside menu which lists the beer's names and ABV, beer style, but which doesn't really give much of a description in terms of taste and isn't updated moment to moment if they end up running out of things. It was fine, but overall other local breweries are doing a more efficient job so that beer orders are paid for and ready when you get there. But, we are all doing our best right now and the fact that they're still open and are making it work at all is amazing.
google avatar

Cori C.

Yelp
The question is: what are you looking from your brewery experience? Are you looking for dogs and a nice patio? Are you looking to chat with whoever else is there, because dogs bring the world together? Are you looking for tacos? Do you have that friend who wants to come but doesn't like beer? Then this is your spot. Dogs. Patio. Tacos. Cocktails. You're all set. Also, self served pork to take home? They're really aiming to have...something...for everyone. I'm not even going to make the joke.

Yelp
Fun, friendly and eclectic describe the venue for Crooked Run Brewery. The beers were good, not my selections as I am more of a chewy beer type (porters and stouts). But beers were fresh, crips and refreshing. Loved the decor and outside seating. We at at Ramon's Mexican but love the varied options on the other side.
google avatar

Robert J.

Yelp
I had two "beers." One was a "Belgian Wheat Ale," and the other an "Imperial Stout." Both were disgusting. The "wheat ale" tasted like home brew, and not in the good way. It tasted like the worst home brew you ever made...it tasted like the wort right after the boil before it had the chance to become actual beer. The "stout" tasted overly sweet and on a whole was light bodied with an odd sour taste. I literally spit out the "wheat ale" and poured out both. If you actually like/know good beer...don't go here. Crooked Run should learn how to brew real beer. I usually never spit out or pour out beer. If I don't like a brew I usually just drink it and remember not to order it again. But these were terrible.

Yelp
Already was a fan of both Crooked Run and Senor Ramon Taqueria at their solo locations in Leesburg. But combining the two is brilliant. The new location at Sterling has plenty of parking and the larger space accommodates more beer options than Crooked Run normally has at Leesburg. We paired the Verdant Force, a citra hopped double IPA (8.5% ABV; 40 IBU) with the Patagonia and Lolo tacos. The Patagonia is carne asada, cheese, guac, and a chimichurry sauce. The Lolo is carnitas, onions, corn salsa, and a chipotle aiolo. Beer and food service was good. There was a pretty big crowd and they were moving product at a good pace. Can't wait for a return trip.

Yelp
Great new location for one of my favorite breweries. The 5 stars is not just for the beer, but their co-location with a Mexican joint that serves primarily tacos and burritos. Beer & Mexican food; what more can I ask for? Crooked Run (CR) Central produces something like 3 x the amount of beer and has 2 x as may brews on tap as the original. When I visited they had 9 beers available; unfortunately 2 more had just sold out. Suffice to say, this should be your first choice when getting your CR fix. Wes was my server, and we chatted on and off for about an hour. They were packed for much of the day, but he loved chatting about different brewery experiences about as much as I do, so it was a fun time. What I tried: Sin Nombre Mexican Imperial Stout: A winner! Love spicy beers. This was the first time I've found one in Loudoun so I was thrilled. Orange Empress (Sour IPA): Nice sour beer; not nearly enough people carry them so I was quite happy. Mango Empress (Sour IPA): Another sour. WOW they weren't kidding about the mango. Probably too much for me. Locolaboration Milk Stout: Nice combo of smooth/spicy/sweet. Collaboration with another brewery who's name escapes me. Shadow of Truth (Black Triple): OK; probably not a reorder. Made in white wine barrels. Barrel aged beers are not among my favorites, which is odd since I love wine as well. Peach Brandy Seek Truth (Belgian Triple): Light, peachy. Not bad. Valhalla Imperial Coffee Cream Ale: Lighter than I expected, again not too bad. Unfortunately they were out of the Lemon Serrano Storm, and didn't have their famous Supernatural Saison on tap.

Yelp
Crooked Run never disappoints with unique beers, a great outdoor seating area, and great service. We weren't planning on visiting Crooked Run today, but found out that it was in very close proximity to Rocket Frog Brewing so we drove over to the next building for a pint. In our group, we had the Altruism Elderberry Sour, Best Days Hefeweizen, and Raspberry Empress Sour IPA. All the beers were solid, but I would say I've had several other beers from them that I've liked better. For example, in a previous visit, I had the Sticky Rice Berliner Weisse, and I would say it's my favorite beer that Crooked Run makes. Crooked Run also shares space with Señor Ramón. It's a great place to stop for lunch and has always been very busy in previous visits. They have a unique selection of tacos, and their street corn is awesome. The restaurant portion was not open today though. Crooked Run also has a spacious patio. Due to COVID 19 precautions, they had hand sanitizer at every table and had laminated cards to flip over when you left the table to indicate it needed to be sanitized.

Yelp
I didn't realize I hadn't yet given this place a review! Here's to a well deserved 5-stars! Located in the standard office park brewery-environment, Crooked Rub is a trendy brewery with constantly rotating beer on tap and for can purchase. Their selection of beer is more geared towards fruity, sour, and hazy IPA beer drinkers. I really enjoy the custom art on the wall behind the bar, associated with each beer on draft. Definitely takes a lot of talent! Along with their unique beers, their service is stellar! The employees are always super friendly and very helpful. They also have some fun card games/board games to play while you drink. To make it even better, there is a permanent Mexican joint inside of the brewery - Senor Ramon Taqueria; so you can drink, eat, and have fun without needing to leave to grab a bite to eat. This is something that all breweries should have!! One thing I don't love about Crooked Run is the size of the space. It's a little tight, but I heard they're currently expanding, which is a huge plus, especially with these cold winters. Overall, Crooked Run is my favorite brewery in the NoVa area and I would definitely recommend checking it out. :)

Yelp
Good drinks and cool people. Jared is just awesome. He is always ready to hand you a nice cold beer with a smile on his face. He is also a good conversationalist!

Yelp
I was so excited to finally go to this brewery! I've had their IPAs before and loved it. They also have a great little Taqueria in the brewery. There are a ton of food options on the menu. It is a pretty large space, but it was super packed! Luckily, people were leaving as we were getting ready to sit down though. I ordered a flight of five beers and liked all of them. I got the Friendship IPA, Never You, Heart & Soul, Double Edge, and Best Days. I also got a sip of the Raspberry Sour and was not a fan at all. But, I personally just don't like sour beers so it's just a personal preference! My friend loved it though. It is a really great location with tons of parking too so you shouldn't have any trouble with that! Love this brewery a lot!
